Diablo 4 is expanding its classes with the Spiritborn and while there's still a few months to wait before fans take control of the apex predator, Blizzard has parted the curtains and shared some more insight into the spiritual warriors. The addition of a new class to the Diablo series has been a long time coming, especially since the core roster of the fourth game consisted of franchise staples everyone's come to know and love.   4. You remember those recent changes Microsoft made to Xbox Game Pass, both in terms of tiers on offer and pricing? Well, the FTC definitely isn't confused about how to feel about them. In fact, it's now claimed that they represent "exactly the sort of consumer harm" it was trying to prevent coming to pass last year. If by some miracle you've been living under a rock for the past few years, first of all, your Xbox Game Pass subscription is probably gonna be more expensive the next time you get your bill than it was before you went under the rock, thanks to those changes that we learned about last week (we're sorry to break this to you). Secondly, you might have missed the lengthy court battle The Federal Trade Commission had with Microsoft over the effects its aquisition of Activision Blizzard might have. Now, The FTC has filed a new letter in its ongoing appeal of the deal in which it claims that those recent Game Pass changes represent exactly the kind of negative consequences for consumers that the body alleged could come to pass in its scrutiny of the acuisition last year.   6. As promised, Blizzard told us a lot about Diablo 4’s first new class, the Spiritborn, in a dedicated livestream. We got to see a first look at gameplay of the new class, learn more about its origins, how it fits within the larger context, and see some of the new gear coming to the game alongside it. The Spiritborn, as the name suggests, is a warrior aligned with animals from the Spirit Realm. Instead, you use your supernatural time-bending abilities to tactically dispatch goons in a roguelike bash through increasingly difficult levels.   13. Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm has suffered a significant round of layoffs and has signaled the closure of one of its high-profile mobile games. As spotted by users on ResetEra, NetherRealm developers took to LinkedIn to announce they had been ***** off as part of what looks like the gutting of the company’s mobile team. One affected member of staff said NetherRealm’s entire mobile team was shut down. This team operated live services on multiple titles, including Mortal Kombat Mobile, Injustice 2, and Mortal Kombat Onslaught. The X/Twitter page for Mortal Kombat: Onslaught announced plans to shut the game down in October 2024, just a year after launch. “It has been an honor creating this game for our Kommunity, and we appreciate the enthusiasm from our fans,” the statement read. “In the coming weeks we will share specific timing of the close of the game.” We are sorry to inform you that Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will close its operations in October. The layoffs hit NetherRealm as it prepares to reveal plans for Mortal Kombat 1’s second year of updates and DLC characters during a panel at San Diego Comic-****. Massive Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London's developers have confirmed that their creation is back in their hands and is "no longer down to GOG", but are urging prospective players not to get too excited quite yet. Team FOLON had previously revealed that the mod had been sent off to the PC storefront, which is distributing it, for some final QA testing. GOG also recently confirmed to us that the mod won't work with Epic Games store-bought copies of Fallout 4 at launch.
