I don’t think I’ve ever paused so much in a strategy game. Survival city builder tower defence RTS Cataclismo is going to be a game with a lot of Steam tags attached, but also tons of screenshots on social media of our elaborate player-made fortifications. Utilitarian ring walls of beefy stone, ramshackle holdfasts held together with rapidly splintering wood, or—and this is where you’ll be hitting Spacebar before embarking on a lengthy building session—intricate labyrinths of medieval barricades that would have the Minotaur thinking ‘This is a bit much, actually.’.. Especially the Game Pass build, which is significantly worse for it. Read more View the full article

The upcoming hero-shooter Concord just entered open beta, but it ******* to attract many players—at least on Steam. The community caught wind of Concord’s poor performance, and are now, players are discussing whether the game even has a future in such a competitive genre. One discussion is happening in a July 19 Reddit thread, whose creator even went as far as calling the game “***** on arrival” due to its meager 2,338 concurrent players during peak hours. It’s only the first day of the beta, but those numbers look grim, especially for a hero shooter that’s supposed to challenge Overwatch 2 and Team Fortress 2, both of which are free-to-play. With a major update scheduled for the base version of The Sims 4, players are celebrating the inclusion of one small mechanic that the community feels should have been a part of the game since its launch. One of the most frustrating aspects of the current iteration of the Create-A-Sim system is always losing a Sim's makeup whenever they're placed into a different outfit. Players have had to come to terms with this in The Sims 4 by just reapplying any lost makeup, but that annoying issue will soon be a thing of the past. View the full article

Hello there. You know Monopoly Go, that mobile game that has more players than any of us will ever have hot dinners? Well, Hasbro and Scopely have been working on making a version of regular Monopoly - you know, the physical board game that's been causing minor tiffs between families since at least the 1930s - based on the mobile game version. Sorry if that's confused you, it's not your fault. Here, at least let me help you understand why this has been announced and is happening (thanks, Polygon). The answer, in a nutshell, is the primarly objective of monopoly itself - trying to make some cash. Monopoly Go Monopoly follows on from the array of Monopolies already out there - including Cats Monopoly, Monopoly: Fortnite, Squishmallows Monopoly, and the HM Queen Elizabeth II Monopoly game that's rather taken on a different significance since 2022 (we're not trying to hawk any of these as of writing, at least as far as I know, you just need evidence that they exist).
