Two new Intel Arrow Lake benchmarks have just appeared in the Geekbench results browser, giving us an indication of the performance of the new Intel gaming CPUs, as well as seemingly revealing their full specs. Both the Core Ultra 9 285K and Core Ultra 7 265K have apparently been put through their paces in Geekbench on a new MSI Z890 motherboard, so it looks as though samples of the chips are already doing the rounds. Whether either of these new Intel chips will win the best gaming CPU trophy ******** to be seen when the final silicon is released and we can put them through their paces in games, but in the meantime, these new Geekbench results can give us an indication of their basic performance. It's taken six months, but Dragon's Dogma 2 PC is finally fixed thanks to the latest update which addresses the frequent random crashes, and more importantly, the CPU bottlenecking that would tank frame rates and make the game unplayable. This massive Dragon's Dogma 2 update was announced last week and thankfully didn't take too long to land, with the full patch notes posted by Capcom on September 17. ***** Rising knew exactly what it was. Keiji Inafune’s B-movie zombie smash-em-up is a quintessential Xbox 360 game. A relic of the transition from SD to HD, while some companies focused on hyper-realistic graphics that have aged terribly, Capcom focused on shoving as many zombies on screen as possible. From a core gameplay perspective, ***** Rising is just as fun to play in 2024 as it was in 2006, a testament to its simple loop, and campy slapstick horror. If you’ve not had the pleasure of liberating the heads from the shoulders of the zombies of Willamette before, ***** Rising Deluxe Remaster also serves as a great way to get into the series. You play as Frank West, an Ant McPartlin lookalike-come-photojournalist who’s on the hunt for the next big scoop. Quickly he finds himself trapped in a mall, teeming with both zombies and survivors, and only three days to save everyone he can. ***** Rising’s gimmick is that every mission is on a timer, which is measured by an in-game clock that is constantly counting down. UFO 50 is a kart of 50 games that once existed for an old computer system, all lovingly restored by a gang of coders. The old console, of course, is a fiction. The LX-I never existed. But it's a fun pseudo-history against which to create a grab bag of small games (some throwaway, others mighty) all designed with a distinct 80s look. It's an exercise in adhering to an aesthetic. Like an oil painter working with a limited range of colours, the developers of this bundle have stuck to a 32-bit equivalent of the Zorn palette. A smaller Teamfight Tactics balance update is slated to drop through Patch 14.19, with only a handful of changes live on the PBE servers so far. Following massive changes made through TFT Patch 14.18 and the 14.18 B-patch, the balance team is allowing the changes to settle in before adding any new big tweaks to the PBE for Patch 14.19. Set 12 Charms Lightning Strike and Meteor Swarm were disabled after the 14.18 B-patch but are expected to go live again with Patch 14.19 after the bugs have been resolved, according to Riot. The studio behind the console versions of Minecraft has announced a new open-world multiplayer survival sandbox game called Reforj. Dundee, Scotland-based 4J Studios is developing the game for PC and current-generation console hardware on a proprietary voxel sandbox engine which it hopes will transform the genre.
