  1. Revealed as a part of the Summer Game Fest, DOOM: The Dark Ages was one of the many surprise guests at this year's Xbox Game Showcase, which is offering an exciting new story expansion that follows the events of the game's finale. Having been battered and betrayed by the ones he was fighting for in the first place, Revelations boasts a brutal new storyline that thrusts the Slayer into a purgatory of his own making. 5. IO Interactive’s 007 First Light has wowed critics and already reached 3 million sales in its first two weeks of release. But that success has also come with confusion over the future of the series, due to comments made last week by Amazon’s Head of Gaming, Jeff Gattis, who said that sequels will be "done by MGM and, theoretically, by Amazon Game Studios." To clarify the situation, IGN spoke with Gattis at Summer Game Fest about what the development and publishing of subsequent James Bond video games could look like. “First of all, let me set the record straight for you,” said Gattis. “I did not confirm that Amazon Game Studios is publishing the next one. Did not say that. So unfortunately, it got picked up, and once it runs, it runs. No, IO's been great. They've been great partners. In fact, I was over there visiting them in Copenhagen a couple of months ago. The game's doing great. Let's let the game breathe and have its day.” Understandably, the uncertainty over IO’s ability to carry on making the new series it’s established caused a certain amount of worry with fans who would love nothing more than to see the Hitman studio continue its Bond origin story. “Trust that we're going to be smart about this,” Gattis reassured players. “I mean, it's market appetite. As long as we feel there's a desire for players to have the game, it’s safe to say it's going to be made.” To try and get as much confirmation as I was ever likely to in this interview, I once again asked if 007 First Light being on track to turn a healthy profit was as much of a green light as needed to get the next entry into production. Gattis’ answer: “Seems like a sequel should be made.” It’s by no means a guarantee, but it's promising news for those, like me, who thoroughly enjoyed IO’s single-player action adventure take on Britain’s most famous spy. Last week, IO CEO Hakan Abrak told IGN he was “very confident” 007 First Light will be profitable for the studio, despite it being the most expensive game it’s ever made. “There's some royalty models and whatnot around this, but we are well above our forecasts at this point,” he added. And of course there’s plenty more to come with the game itself, as IO just outlined 007 First Light’s first year of content. 007 First Light took seven years to develop, but potential sequels could be made cheaper and quicker, Abrak added. Abrak said the cost associated with each World of Assassination title came down, and he’d expect the same with future James Bond games. IGN’s 007 First Light review scored it 9/10. We said: “Demonstrably obsessed with bringing the Bond fantasy to life in a way no one has ever managed before, 007 First Light is the best Bond game I’ve ever played.” Our 007 First Light Guide has all the Essential Tips and Tricks you need to survive your first assignments, plus 6 Tips for Mastering Stealth so you can stay out of sight. 9. At IGN Live on Sunday, Todd McFarlane stopped by to show off some of the upcoming figures from McFarlane Toys. The focus was on characters from the Fallout franchise and Helldivers 2, as the company continues to bolster its video game-based releases. First up was the Paladin Danse figure from from Fallout 4, which is part of the Elite Series, or as McFarlane jokingly referred to as "the Cadillac model," as it allows for more complicated sculpts, more paint, and more accessories. However, he stressed they always wanted to have different lines at different price points, knowing everyone wouldn't want or be able to afford the more high end versions. McFarlane spoke about how not only had video game characters in general been q growing component for them the past few years, but that "Fallout caught us by surprise," saying when they first took on the license it was more of a "let's see how it goes" situation. Quickly, fans were asking for more, and McFarlane noted, "We've had a lot of success with Fallout, not only with the new games they have, but they've opened up their library." While showing off the figure for Joshua Graham from Fallout: New Vegas and the Fallout 76 T-45, McFarlane went more into their philosophy on which characters they choose to produce for each wave, saying they usually break a wave up into what McFarlane referred to as the A, the B and the C characters, in terms of popularity. Which isn't to say the B or C characters are bad -- in fact they could be cult favorites -- but it's the A characters everyone usually wants. The way McFarlane saw it, even though he knew fans would ask for the most popular characters up front, "You don't want to burn all the A characters right out of the gate" because they are the ones that ensure fans come back for each new group of figures - allowing the line to last longer and for the fans of the less high profile characters to have a chance to grow their collection further than they otherwise would. Lastly, McFarlane displayed a couple of the Helldivers II figures his company is making, including the TR-40 Gold Eagle and B-01 Tactical Elite Edition figure. These figures include wired capes, along with patterns on those cape, which isn't something they've done a lot of previously. The B-01 Tactical Elite Edition figure also has tons of accessories, including -- among the multiple hands available -- one that is doing the Shaka, just as you would hope. 24. The Sorcerer is one of the four free characters in TBH: Task Bar Hero, and she can pack a punch with the correct build. However, I found her to be the hardest class to build (among the free characters) since she has some glaring weakness. Nevertheless, let’s find out what’s the best way to build up the Sorcerer. Best TBH: Task Bar Hero Sorcerer buildhttps://embeds.beehiiv.com/a8d62108-86ed-4039-bf49-44877ba62c15 To get the best possible build for the Sorcerer, it’s vital to understand her role first. The Sorcerer relies on her magic to deal damage. She also emphasizes dishing out AoE damage by hitting multiple enemies with the same attack. The Sorcerer doesn’t have the best of defenses. She’s quite squishy, and she can die if left on her own. While she has plenty of useful abilities, here are my top two suggestions for the slots. Meteor Strike: The Sorcerer summons a meteor that deals 550% damage to every enemy trapped in the area. The radius of the meteor is pretty large, which traps more enemies. This is the best ability you can possibly use with the Sorcerer. It takes a lot of Skill Points to unlock, but it’s worth the wait. Flame Hydra: She summons a Hydra that deals 255% to enemies within its range. The Hydra has a pretty decent range to begin with, and it can hit multiple enemies with the same projectile. Let’s check out the passives that you should upgrade. Attack damage: Pretty much raises all forms of damage the Sorcerer does on enemies. Cooldown Reduction: Since she depends heavily on the abilities, investing in cooldown reduction makes complete sense. Increased Area of Effect: This raises the potential DPS of all her AoE abilities. A larger area of effect translates into more enemies being hit by her. Increased Critical Chance multiplier: This is a no-brainer for any class that aims to do most of the damage. This upgrade will raise the chances of her attacks turning into critical hits, which results in more damage. Screenshot by Destructoid Additionally, you would want to increase the fire damage to fit in this build. Look to get this bonus from weapon decoration as well. Other decorations that work well should look to add her base damage and raise the chance of critical attacks. Ideally, she can play the role of a DPS very well. I preferably pair her with the Knight and the Priest. The Knight absorbs plenty of damage and helps his team to survive. The Priest is key in this team, as she will heal the Sorcerer and remove all damage counters. /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post Best Sorcerer build in TBH: Task Bar Hero appeared first on Destructoid.
