Battlefield 6 players think they’ve discovered that one of the three maps coming in Season 5 is set in Las Vegas after Battlefield Studios posted an enigmatic teaser last week. The team at EA outlined its plans to keep players coming back throughout 2026 last week after it pulled back the curtain to reveal a host of changes aimed at directly addressing fan feedback. While much larger multiplayer maps and a server browser are just the tip of the iceberg of what was officially revealed, some players have already set their sights on a single image that teased one of the maps launching toward the end of the year. "Today, I can also confirm that, as a holiday surprise, we’ll be dropping a third map into Season 5," Motive Studio executive producer Philippe Ducharme said in a video for the April 16 reveal while showing the first-look. "You’ll have to wait to learn about them, but I will say that the roadmap does offer a hint of where you’ll be fighting." The image shows what appears to be an asphalt road with a colorful puddle surrounded by loose bullets. Knee-jerk reaction in the community believed that the rainbow effect might be caused by a mixture of gasoline, but others have pointed out the shape in the middle of the water matches up with the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s hard to make out on its own, but side by side, it’s easy to see why players have come to this conclusion. The long shape of the sign mostly lines up with the shape in the puddle, and the yellow-and-white lights seem to match, too. Others have pointed out that Las Vegas isn’t exactly known for being a rainy city, but there’s always the possibility the liquid we’re seeing could have come from another source. One player who says they live in the casino town pointed out that the orange beams on the left side of the screen may actually be a reflection of the Mandalay Bay resort and casino. The same poster notes that the right side of the image could be showing a reflection of the green neon of the MGM Grand. The map at the end is almost certainly in Las Vegas byu/KilllllerWhale inBattlefield .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } 100% las vegas byu/-ElectricKoolAid inBattlefield .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } BF Studios gave players very little to chew on, but many have settled on the idea that Las Vegas will serve as the location of one of the upcoming Season 5 maps for Battlefield 6. Others aren’t so convinced, with other popular theories revolving around a return for the Siege of Shanghai and Dawnbreaker maps from Battlefield 4, or even a new map set in New York City. With Season 3 set to add Railway to Golmud and Cairo Bazaar in May and Season 4 set to follow with Wake Island and Tsuru Reef in July, it will likely be some time before we see what Season 5 has in store for the fall. Although the late 2026 content update will break tradition by adding three maps when it launches for Battlefield 6, BF Studios warned that players shouldn’t expect three maps per season going forward. "We still plan to stay with the current strategy we have, which is adapting our season and our seasonal structure to meet the experiences that we want our players to play," Ripple Effect executive producer Ryan McArthur said during a Q&A session that IGN attended last week. Battlefield 6 launched for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S October 10, 2025. Bandai Namco has announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S. The announcement arrived alongside the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in Los Angeles today and comes with a first official trailer for the anime action-RPG follow-up. It’s news that came as a shock to fans and arrived as official confirmation that a follow-up is finally on the way after Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 launched in 2016, almost 10 years ago. Doubling the surprise is the fact that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 was technically already revealed by Bandai Namco earlier this year as what was previously called Age 1000. That title now serves as the name of the new world in which the game is set, with the trailer showing off some of what it has to offer. "As revealed in the announcement trailer for DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3, players will get to explore and uncover exciting new stories in West City, the vibrant new world set in AGE 1000," an official description said. "Guided into the ranks of the Great Saiyan Squad, you’ll fight alongside allies as events there begin to take shape. "The game combines an epic story-driven RPG experience that will take DRAGON BALL fans on an unforgettable, action-packed journey into this new universe and its cast of characters." Bandai Namco says there will be more to share about Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 "in the months to come." While we wait to see how it will expand on the work of the late Akira Toriyama, you can check out our 7.5/10 review of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. At the time, we called it "an ambitious, if rough-edged experience, with deceptively deep RPG and brawling elements." Michael Cripe is a freelance writer with IGN. The world of Windrose has plenty of secret items for you to find, and the Traveler's Camp includes two chests. As with almost anything in the game, the exact locations of these chests will be random (based on your map). Finding the first one might not be difficult, but the second one is a real headscratcher. Let's find out how you can find both chests and unlock all the rewards on offer. Table of contentsHow to find all the Traveler's Camp chests in WindroseHow to find the second Traveler's Camp chest in WindroseHow to find all the Traveler's Camp chests in Windrose The first one always appears to be out in the open. When you visit a Traveler's Camp, the first chest will usually be located near one of the tents. It can also be found near a campfire, and the chest is pretty easy to find. The second chest, in contrast, is hidden from plain sight. When you find the first one and open the map, you'll find that it says you have found the first chest. Let's now look at how to find the second chest. Image via Kraken Express How to find the second Traveler's Camp chest in Windrose Before you can find the second chest, you'll need to have a shovel in your inventory. The reason is simple: you'll need to dig the ground and unearth the chest. However, you can't just dig wherever you want. Image via Kraken Express Instead, look for a specific tree around the camp. The location of this tree will be completely random, but it will be located near the camp. The tree will be dead and devoid of any green leaves. Additionally, it will also have a red scarf tier around it. Once you've found the tree, equip your shovel and start digging around it. Keep digging until the chest is exposed. The chest will be easy to locate as it will be highlighted on the ground. Open the chest, and you'll find the second one. You can then get all the available items by removing them to your inventory. When you reach a Traveler's Camp the next time and can't find the second chest, just look for the dead tree with the red scarf, and you'll find it. The Catastrophe's Aftermath is one of several faction quests you can complete in Windrose, and it's one of the more advanced ones. Ideally, you need to be at character level 7 to take on this quest. However, you can go in early, but expect the tasks to be harder. Let's find out how you can complete all tasks of this faction quest. Go there and retrieve all the supplies that you can find. You'll face drowned enemies at this location that you'll need to clear before you can proceed. Bring the supplies to Charlie Sharpe at the refugee camp Follow the quest marker and reach the refugee camp, where you'll meet Charlie Sharpe. This is the same guy you met during the Buccaneers faction quest. Charlie will ask you to speak with Doctor Galen. When you seek out the doctor, he will inform you that he doesn't have a spare stash of medicine. However, he will happily make you the medicines if you can get him the ingredients. Screenshot by Destructoid Collect 15 bundles of healing herbs and bring them to Galen Explore the map and find 15 Healing Herbs, and then return them to Doctor Galen. You can use items from your stash if you already have them. Alternatively, you can search Ancient Containers to defeat enemies to get them randomly. Image via Kraken Express Once you return the herbs to Doctor Galen, he will craft and give you a care package of medicine. Take this crate to Charlie Sharpe. He will thank you for your efforts, and ask you for one more help. He will tell you about taking down Jim Godart, whose information has been provided by Long Ben. Get rid of Jim Godart If you follow the quest marker, it will lead you to Godart's camp. His entire crew will be present over here, so you've to be careful. Godart uses a ranged weapon, so you can use a gun if you don't want to get too close. If you can isolate Godart, you should fire at him and then run. He will follow you, and a couple more shots (depending on your level and weapon) will eliminate the boss. You only have to eliminate Jim Godart, so any extra combat is your choice. Image via Kraken Express Once done, return to Charlie Sharpe and inform him that the task is done. He will announce that there would have been a feast had the governor been alive, but that's not the case. However, you'll still get the following rewards for your efforts. 200 Piastre10 Letter of Favor The post How to complete Catastrophe’s Aftermarth in Windrose appeared first on Destructoid. Helping your crew members to enter enemy boats is key to winning fights in Windrose, and you'll need the Boarding Party Gear for that. An upgraded variant is also available that is much more effective. While I have yet to find the item directly as a drop (based on datamined information, you can find it that way as well), there's a useful workaround to obtain it. Table of contentsHow to obtain the Upgraded Boarding Party Gear in WindroseHow to use the Upgraded Boarding Party Gear in WindroseHow to obtain the Upgraded Boarding Party Gear in Windrose Instead of relying on your luck or finding the blueprint for the upgraded variant, it's better to build the base unit. Then, you can simply upgrade it using the correct resources to raise its power and potential. First, you'll need the following resources to craft a Boarding Party Gear. This is the base one, so the required resources are pretty basic. Seven Copper Ingots: Smelted from Copper using a Furnace.Seven Rough Hide: Obtain from animals like wild boarsSeven Coarse Fabric: Obtained by processing plant fiber and changing it into fabric. Palm Seeds are one of those resources in Windrose that are required for different needs, and they're pretty tricky to get. For a long time, I thought you got them from the Palm trees that are found all over the coastlines. While they do spawn from Palm trees, you might be looking at the wrong locations. Let's find out how you can obtain this resource and put it to good use. Table of contentsHow to find Palm Seeds in WindroseHow to use Palm Seeds in WindroseHow to find Palm Seeds in Windrose To get Palm Seeds, you'll need to chop trees that are located deeper in the islands. For example, you can try the trees that grow in the Coastal Jungle forest. You chop as many trees as you want (the same ones) on the coast, and you'll never find a seed. Hence, you'll need to travel inside and chop down the Palm trees to get the Palm Seeds. You'll need an axe, but that's an easy tool to get pretty early. You'll need three Wood and three Stone to build an axe at a workbench. Image via Kraken Express As an alternative, you can also get Palm Seeds by harvesting them. Once you're at your base, press B to open the building panel. Go to the Farming tab, and choose a Palm Sapling. Place it on a suitable plot and wait for it to grow. Then, press the E button to harvest the resource. This is a great way to maintain a continuous supply of Palm Seeds without chopping trees from the forests. How to use Palm Seeds in Windrose Palm Seeds have two major uses in Windrose. You can use them to set up automated farming after reaching Tortuga. Purchase a Farming Contractor for 10 Gold, and then assign 20 Silver Coins and 50 Palm Seeds. The contractor will automatically generate resources for over eight hours. You can also use the seeds to grow decorative Palm trees all around your base. You don't get any useful items in return, but who minds a bit of greenery around their home in the pirate world of Windrose! Cooperative pirate survival game Windrose has reached 1 million copies sold less than a week after its Early Access launch for PC. Pocketpair Publishing and Kraken Express announced the sales milestone with an update post on Steam today. It’s an announcement that saw it sail past the marker six days after launching for PC via the Valve platform and Epic Games Store April 14. Reaching 1 million copies is a feat worth celebrating for Kraken as it charts a course through Early Access development, especially as its concurrent player count on Steam alone continues to climb. It’s managed to climb to 200,000 active pirates on Steam alone, with SteambDB recording a peak of 211,177 at the time of this piece’s publication. Thank you! The boar sends its two-tusked regards. Jokes aside, your support has been incredible, and your patience while we work on fixes means the world to us. Moreover, Windrose surpassed 200,000 concurrent players on Steam! Thank you kindly, on behalf of our entire studio. [Hidden Content] — Windrose (@PlayWindrose) April 19, 2026 "Your support for the game is absolutely astonishing, and your patience while we are working on fixes is truly heart-warming," Kraken said. "While we keep working on the game, we read your reviews and comments, watch your videos and streams, and sometimes, honestly, shed a pirate-y tear of happiness, because now when the game is out you share our dream of swashbuckling adventure." Windrose, previously known as Crosswind, debuted to ‘Very Positive’ reviews when it embarked on its Early Access journey last week. Kraken sells it as a "PvE survival adventure in the Age of Piracy," telling fans it will work with them through the development process in the hopes of reaching a 1.0 launch sometime in the next "1.5 to 2.5 years." Players can head out on the sea alone or play with friends via co-op, with the developers estimating the final release will feature "around 50% more content." We said Windrose "made a strong first impression” and praised its “exploration and progression" in our review so far last week. While Windrose charges ahead, you can see our 10 essential ship tips. While it's amazing to live in modern times where video games are probably better than ever, despite what you hear coming out of my mouth, it's always great to look back at those titles that made all of this possible. Metal Slug, alongside other arcade and early gaming franchises, helped drive this industry forward, and it's now getting a reboot. To celebrate its 30-year anniversary, SNK created a flashy new website dedicated to three decades of Metal Slug. And along that nostalgia lane sits an announcement: Metal Gear is being rebooted. Specifically, SNK said it's "reigniting and rebooting the series with a wide range of exciting projects," which are to include "new ventures in gaming." While a little vague, it seems SNK has reevaluated Metal Slug's position in the gaming industry, which could lead, if we read into that announcement a little, to new games in the series. Metal Slug is one of the most iconic side-scrolling shooters from the good ol' days. Screenshot by Destructoid Retro gaming has made a strong resurgence over the last few years, what with so many beat-'em-ups and side-scrollers coming out lately. Of course, there's also the return of boomer shooters, which made it seem like the original Doom came out last week. In such an environment, there's more than enough place for a new Metal Slug title, which would bring us back to a time where we had to spend an ungodly amount of money to make the arcade machine let us have another crack at the stage boss. Metal Slug wasn't on the ice entirely over the last few decades, since it got a new game, Metal Slug Tactics, back in 2023. However, no actual mainline entry came to the series since Metal Slug 7 in 2028, meaning. Outside of remasters and ports, Metal Slug hasn't received the attention it deserves at all, even though Steam numbers indicate hundreds of thousands of copies sold on each PC port. Back when I was a kid, Metal Slug was one of my first exposures to gaming, though on console rather than arcade. My cousins and I would play the hell out of it on the PlayStation 2, going through each of the games innumerable times, trying to beat them without dying (which to us seemed entirely impossible). I recently played through the first three games with a friend, and that reminded me of just how cool the art style and visuals of the Metal Slug series are, not to mention the nostalgic audio and music. But nothing is perfect in 2026, nor can we expect it to be. According to Polygon, some parts of the promotional materials on the 30th-anniversary website seem to be AI-generated, which is par for the course with SNK, which previously faced similar accusations. As Polygon writes, SNK is owned by a Saudi Arabian corporation, and that is enough to make us at least somewhat hesitant to welcome these new projects with arms open too wide. Windrose, a co-op pirate adventure game that came out into early access a few days ago, is already one of Steam's most popular titles, having surpassed giants like Crimson Desert and Slay the Spire 2 to claim a spot among Valve's top three most-played games. With a concurrent player peak of 204,000, Windrose lags behind only Valve's own games, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2 at the time of writing, which are almost always the top two spots on the platform. What's surprising about this number isn't that it's an indie game made by a small but dedicated team, but that it launched to a quarter of that number on release day, continuously growing since. Windrose has it all: survival, crafting, exploration, and cannons blasting over the open sea. Image via Windrose Crew Windrose puts you in the boots of a pirate captain who, amid mysterious events, was deprived of their ship and thrown onto a desolate island. Your task, and that of your three or more friends, is to find out what happened and reclaim your former glory as a true king of the seven seas. The game is set during the Golden Age of Piracy, i.e., the early 1700s, and has incredibly immersive naval navigation and combat and simulation that truly makes it feel like you're a sailor from that era. Windrose is also a survival crafting game, which could at least partially explain why it's so popular, as you're tasked with discovering and creating your own pirate cove using deep building and crafting mechanics. Whether it's a small log house by the shore or an elaborate pirate castle built around a mountain, you can make it in Windrose. On top of that, you get and make boats, fight other pirates and strange creatures, and go on adventures across the West Indies either alone or with your own crew (of up to eight members). Ever since I played its exceptional demo, Windrose has kept me interested to no end, and I continue having fun in the game despite its early access model. There is so much content in there that you're going to get updates way before you run out of stuff to do, meaning you can just get stuck in and enjoy and worry not about ever seeing the game over screen.
