  6. The Elements of Nature Star Path event that arrived with Pocahontas introduced a new system to Disney Dreamlight Valley. This feature is the Star Path Vault, an additional page that's tied to the larger seasonal event. Since it wasn't always around, there's a decent chance you aren't sure how this addition works and what you need to do to obtain these prizes. Here's how to get Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsWhat are Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley? How to unlock Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight ValleyWhat are premium and free Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley? What happens if you already own Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley? What are Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Screenshot by Destructoid Star Path Vault rewards are additional prizes that can be unlocked as the seasonal event progresses in DDV. This feature was mainly added to grant players a chance to grab old Star Path items they may have missed out on. Overall, though, there are two types of rewards you can get from this feature: Returning rewards from previous Star Path events, exactly as they were when previously released.Newly recolored, refreshed, or otherwise slightly redesigned versions of old Star Path items. How to unlock Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley You can unlock Star Path Vault rewards by completing routine duties in the active event. For the Elements of Nature Star Path, there are seven Vault prizes to claim, and seven weeks of routine duties to check off with them. For every three routine duties you finish, one prize from the Vault may be claimed. You have to collect them in order, though, so it's not up to you which ones you get first. As long as you fully complete all weekly duties before the event ends, you'll get to collect them all, though. Routine duties also grant you Tokens to spend in the event, so they're by far the most essential quests to get done while the Star Path is live. What are premium and free Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Each Vault collection has a mix of premium and free items up for grabs. The free items can be earned by all players, while the premium ones require you to upgrade to the premium version of the Star Path event. If you don't have premium, you can still progress past these prizes to grab the free items locked after them. What happens if you already own Star Path Vault rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Screenshot by Destructoid The Star Path Vault system is designed with players who missed out on past events in mind. But the devs also wanted to ensure longtime players get something special from it, too, so if a prize you already own is featured, you'll instead receive a red chest that has a new item you don't already own inside. This makes the Star Path Vault system highly valuable for all players, even if you have the main items featured in it. In the blog breaking down the Star Path Vault system, the devs mention that it may evolve and change in future updates based on player feedback. As any changes occur, we'll add all key information here. For now, though, you'll want to get to work tackling those tricky routine duties to get your hands on the Vault prizes. Some good ones to start with are planting 20 enriching orange squash, crafting one potion to boost your garden, and planting 20 corny golden crops. 7. First we survive, then we crawl. The latest and greatest game from poncle, developer of the genre-defining Vampire Survivors, is spin-off entry in an entirely different genre that scratches the same itches in new, fun ways. Vampire Crawlers is a first-person dungeon crawler that's also a roguelike cardbattler, so it's got a lot going on at the surface, and there's a fair amount of potential complexity under the hood too. It's highly enjoyable and satisfyingly simple, even for those who may have never touched a game remotely like it before. Get ready to sink some hours into the grind of gold, XP, and a whole bunch of sprites popping all over your screen. Dopamine simulator Image via poncle Big numbers, ******* hands, and even ******* decks. Vampire Crawlers is all about filling the screen with all sorts of nonsense in the same exact way that Vampire Survivors is, but with a different perspective and battle system that's unique and exciting in its own way. The core loop of Vampire Crawlers is going out into the world map, exploring dungeons, opening chests, defeating enemies and leveling up with blue gems, and clearing out a boss battle at the end of each level. The battles are turn-based and card-based, meaning each ability, power-up, and attack you use requires Mana The same characters, weapons, and abilities you know and love from Vampire Survivors are here in Crawlers, now in card form. Runetracer, Cherry Bomb, Lightning Ring, Eight the Sparrow and Phiera Der Tuphello, Santa Water. They're all here, and they go as wild as ever with a Duplicator, so long as you have the Mana to play all the cards you want. Most battles end up revolving around playing the right cards in the right order in your turn, defeating each encounter as enemies press the advantage and close in on you. This can make individual encounters mundane at times, but the satisfaction is found with progression and customization of your cards and each individual deck build. It is very fun using specific cards found with each level up to increase your hand size, lower the Mana cost of certain cards, allow them to be copied or replayed, and more. But if you're looking to mindlessly speed through a dungeon to grind currency or something, then you can also use the Play All button to move through your turn like Survivors' auto-attacks. Attack cards can be buffed with different mods, but the key in encounters is using ability cards to buff things like the number of projectiles, the duration of the attack, and their strength levels. These buzzwords should all be familiar if you played Vampire Survivors, and they function in the same way here. Screenshot by Destructoid Finishing a dungeon means returning to your home base, where you can increase base stats, unlock new characters (Pasqualina, Mortaccio, Antonio, and the rest of the Survivors gang are all here with their own Crawler cards to play), and more before heading back out on another dungeon crawl. You can upgrade each individual attack card to allow for more mods, too, so there's a fair amount of stuff to grind for and further customization at the end of the journey. I can easily see myself dedicating dozens of hours to this game. I've only been playing for about a week, and there's still quite a bit to unlock and find within. Just about every upgrade and unlock in the home village requires gold, which can be found in each level as you progress. The better you do, the more enemies you kill, and the further you progress gets more gold, but the early-going of the game feels a bit slow since it's all tied to the one currency. It requires a good amount of time investment to get the best of everything so you can survive later levels and harder encounters. If you gain joy from unlocking things, hearing dozens of achievement notifications pop up, and watching your screen light up with damage indicators and fun animations, then this is the game for you. And just like Survivors, Crawlers is astonishingly cheap for the amount of hours you can get out of it ($10). Knowledge of Vampire Survivors is slightly advantageous but not a requirement. I do think Crawlers is more enjoyable if you've put in countless hours to the original game, like I have, because it has the same aesthetic and art style that evokes the 16-bit era of gaming, and the characters and abilities will almost feel nostalgic at this point. Screenshot by Destructoid And if Crawlers ends up like Survivors, it'd be fair to expect some very cool, very cheap DLC add-ons throughout its life cycle to further expand the journey. But even for now, on day one, it's 100 percent worth every cent...especially if you put a bunch of time into the demo like I did, since the game carries over all of that progress. Seriously. I launched Vampire Crawlers and had 46 Steam achievements at the ready. The post Vampire Crawlers review – New perspective, same utterly addicting loop appeared first on Destructoid. 8. Starting off, every Mii you make lives in their own individual house in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream, but you can also eventually get Miis to live together as you progress. It's not all that easy to do, though. Like most features, this one isn't directly explained to you until it actually happens. This makes figuring out what needs to be done rather tough, so here's how to get Miis to live together in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream. Table of contentsHow to get Miis to move in together in Tomodachi Life Living the DreamHow many Miis can live together in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream? How to get more than two Miis to move in together in Tomodachi Life Living the DreamHow to get Miis to move in together in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream Screenshot by Destructoid To get Miis to live together, you need to work on building up their friendship in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream. Only Miis who have a superb bond have a chance of asking to move in together. Unfortunately, there's no direct way to force Miis to live together. Instead, all you can do is push for it to happen by bringing the Miis you want to live together close together as often as possible, either by dragging and dropping them close to each other wherever they are, or by having them dine together at the restaurant. Overall, you need to try your hardest to help them build a strong friendship or romantic relationship. Both friendly and romantic Miis have a chance of asking to move in together, so either option works. Generally, though, you want them to be at least great friends or better to have a shot at this option appearing. When two Miis get married, they'll automatically ask to move in together after the wedding if they aren't already sharing a space, so working on having Miis romance each other is a good way to ensure they eventually end up living together. This usually takes a while, though, so there's a good chance you'll be able to get them to move in as friends sooner along the way. If a Mii wants to move in with someone, they'll have a Pondering bubble over their head. When you click it, they'll let you know they'd like to move in with someone. At this point, you can either agree to the idea or say no. Be sure to tell the Mii it's a good idea if you want it to happen. Screenshot by Destructoid How many Miis can live together in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream? Up to eight Miis can live together in one large shared house. This can't happen right away, though, and is instead a long-term goal you'll have to work up to, as you can only add one new roommate at a time, and the bonds between Miis need to be high to make it happen. How to get more than two Miis to move in together in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream To get more than two Miis to live together, you need to slowly build up the bonds between all residents you want to share a home. Technically, any Mii who has a strong bond with another Mii can ask to move in with them, but for the best odds of getting more than two Miis sharing a home, you'll want to have all the Miis you want to be sharing the space be at least great friends. Now that you know how to get Miis to move in together, you can move on to other key missions around the island. Next, you might work on learning how to get all personalities, unlocking the Ferris Wheel, checking out what all of the personality traits are, and gathering Warm Fuzzies. 9. It feels like there's a new video game movie adaptation announcement or trailer every week these days, but this one's got me excited. Elden Ring. Ooohhh, Elden Ring. Yeah, the 2022 FromSoftware instant classic is coming to the silver screen, officially, and production is set to get underway very soon (if not already). The movie is being brought to life by A24 Productions and director Alex Garland, aiming for a March 3, 2028 release. Image via FromSoftware Not only that, but a cast of actors has been officially revealed by Bandai Namco, and it's got some familiar names on it that will help bring the characters to life: Kit Connor (Warfare, Heartstopper)Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Paddington)Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Civil War)Tom Burke (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, ****** Bag)Havana Rose Liu (Bottoms)Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina)Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes)Ruby Cruz (Willow, Bottoms)Nick Offerman (The Last of Us, Parks & Recreation)John HodgkinsonJefferson HallEmma LairdPeter Serafinowicz If this movie launches on its scheduled date, that will mean it will have only been six years between the game's launch and its movie coming out, which is quite spectacular to think about. Elden Ring's lore is stunning and deep, created in partnership with Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin. There are so many directions that the movie's story could go in, and so I'll be obsessing over what it will look like while watching VaatiVidya lore videos for the foreseeable future. What do you think the Elden Ring movie's story should look like? Who are your non-negotiables? Personally, I think the stories of characters like Marika, Radagon, Malenia, Miquella, and the royal families must be included. Beyond that, I would love to see what the writers and producers come up with. The Elden Ring movie will be filmed in IMAX, too, so regardless of where the story ends up, I'd love for it to be a visual spectacle, if nothing else. There's always someone ragequitting because they get (rightfully) knocked for hurling racist, sexist, or other-ist abuse down voice chat in even the most benign online games. 17. While working your way through different quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you'll oftentimes be tasked with tracking down specific mission items, like Special Resin. These types of items only exist within the quest, which means figuring out where they're located can be tough. Whenever you're sent to gather materials for key tasks, you're not really given a whole lot of guidance as to where to look for them, or even if you are, you're only given a general area to search. This means there's a good chance you may end up stuck, so here's where to find Special Resin in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsHow to get Special Resin in Disney Dreamlight ValleySpecial Resin location in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to get Special Resin in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid The Special Resin Pocahontas asks you to find during the A Little Algae Problem quest can be obtained by visiting her Yehakin in the valley, otherwise known as her house. The exact location of this item varies for all players, as upon unlocking Pocahontas during the Whispers of the Wind quest, you're allowed to set up her home anywhere you like. When you reach this stage in the quest, you can find the location of Pocahontas's home by looking for the Mickey Mouse head icon marked with a purple circle on your map. All homes have the same icon, but only hers will have a special purple circle around it. If you have DLC worlds like Wishblossom Ranch or Eternity Isle, be sure to check over there, too, as you also may have set her up somewhere outside of the main valley. Special Resin location in Disney Dreamlight Valley You can find the Special Resin on the ground in Pocahontas's house, next to the drum in the back right corner. Once you enter her home, walk past the glowing blue fire in the middle of the room, then look down to your right to spot it. It blends in with the environment quite well, but once you're past the fire, the Special Resin will start sparkling, making it a bit easier to spot in the otherwise dark room. Screenshot by Destructoid Finding the Special Resin is just one of many key steps you need to work through during the A Little Algae Problem quest, but it's certainly one of the toughest parts, so you should have a much easier time navigating through the rest of it after this part. Alongside this item, you also need to gather 15 Softwood, 10 Hardwood, six Clay, and four Glass to progress. Once you're done working your way through this mission, you can move on to other key tasks, like the A Raccoon’s Return quest, finding and feeding a Calico Rabbit, and completing Olaf’s Grand Exhibition Dazzle Beach room. 22. Bungie’s limited-edition Marathon DualSense controller has dropped in price far quicker than expected, and it’s not a small cut either. Just weeks after launch, the PS5 gamepad is down 18%, now sitting at $69.68 at both Amazon and Walmart, which is a new low for the design. Get it at Amazon - $69.68Get it at Walmart - $69.68 The controller ties into Marathon, Bungie's newly released extraction shooter. To mark the launch, Sony rolled out a small range of themed PS5 accessories back in March, with this special edition DualSense front and centre. Design-wise, it’s more restrained than most limited-edition pads. The base is the standard white shell you’d expect from a DualSense controller, but it’s layered with ****** and neon green Marathon iconography across the grips and touchpad. Flip it over, and you’ll find the game’s logo stamped across the back in matching neon lettering, subtle enough not to be garish, but distinctive enough to stand out on a shelf. It's purely a cosmetic upgrade, but at this price, it’s edging closer to standard DualSense pricing territory, which makes the limited-edition controller a whole lot more compelling than it was at launch. Bungie recently released its 1.0.6 Patch update for Marathon, which focused on encourgaing players "to be nice" alongside plenty of other big gameplay changes. It even looks like Bungie's attempt to make Marathon that bit more casual-friendly are so far helping, with reactions fairly positive since the update was pushed out. Be born a female in Nevada in BitLife To kick off your Lady Luck journey, start a fresh life, and when making your character, be sure to make them a female who is born in Nevada. You'll want to select Las Vegas as your birth city to make this happen. Become a famous mobile app developer in BitLife Now that you've been born the required gender in the right region, your next goal is to become a famous mobile app developer. It's going to take you quite a bit to get to this point, so this is more of a long-term goal within the challenge. First, focus on aging your character up and keeping your smarts stat as high as possible. You can do so by studying hard in school, reading, visiting the library, and other similar tasks that refine your mental aptitude. Your goal is to use this degree to join any job with the title App Developer listed next to it in parentheses. There are a few different jobs you might find with this title, including ones like App Tester and Jr. App Developer. If you don't see any of these jobs listed at first, close and reopen the app to refresh the available options until you find one. Once you get any type of job in the App Developer field, you'll automatically gain some fame. This means all you have to do to check off this portion of the weekly challenge is simply get a job in the right field. Win $1M+ in casino winnings in BitLife Next up, you need to get 1,000,000$ or more in casino winnings. This step really comes down to luck and random chance, making it one of, if not the hardest, goals to get done here. Select the Activities tab in the bottom right corner, choose the Gamble option, and select Blackjack to start playing. Succeeding here is entirely based on luck and playing strategically. There's not much you can do to boost your odds of winning, here, but understanding how Blackjack works does help. Generally, you should pick hit when your hand's value is 11 or more, and pick stand if it's 17 or higher. Bet a lot and keep at it over the years to eventually secure the money you need. Screenshot by Destructoid Win $5M+ in divorce settlements in BitLife Your next mission is to win $5,000,000 in divorce settlements. The first step is to get a relationship, which is easiest to do by selecting the Activities tab, choosing the Love option, and choosing Date or Dating App. Try to find a partner who is pretty wealthy, as you'll be needing to get a lot of money from them for this task. Next, work on building your relationship by complimenting them, chatting, giving them gifts, and otherwise performing nice actions. Once the relationship has flourished, you should propose and get married. If they ask for a prenup, make sure you decline. Then, divorce them and take as much money as you can in the settlement. You likely won't be able to get the full $5,000,000 you need on the first go, so repeat this process with a few different partners until you meet the required amount. Have the witch doctor cure an illness in BitLife You've made it to the final task in the Lady Luck challenge, which asks you to have the witch doctor cure an illness. The first step here is to get an illness of some kind. Any illness works, but for the purposes of this task, the best method is to make a social media account and troll the BitLife page, as doing so always grants you a random disease. To do so, select the Activities page, scroll down to Social Media, and choose an option like Facebook or Twitter. Then, select the Troll option under the Twitter page and choose the @BitLifeApp account. You'll get a disease for doing so. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you have a disease, select the Activities tab again, scroll down to the Doctor option, and select the Witch Doctor. Pay the fee and see if they can heal you. It might not work on the first try, so keep visiting them until it eventually does. Once your disease is fixed by them, the Lady Luck challenge will be complete. If you're up for it, there are lots of other weekly challenges in the BitLife vault, which means you can go back and get to work on them. Some tricky ones to tackle next are the Real Housewife challenge, the Attack Titan challenge, the Lucky Duck challenge, and the Kahlo My World challenge.
