Xbox Games Showcase is back for another year, and this one promises a great deal from Microsoft. The showcase kicks off on Sunday, June 7 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm *** time, and we’ll have live updates below, bringing you all the announcements as they happen. It will be followed immediately by a Gears of War: E-Day Direct, which will deliver a deep dive on the next game in the action series. So, what can we expect from Xbox Games Showcase itself? Microsoft has a number of big first-party games due out in what remains of 2026 and into 2027 that are still without release dates, so you’d expect those to be announced today. For example, Halo: Campaign Evolved, which we’re sure to get another look at during the show, will probably get a release date. A Gears of War E-Day release date is a sure bet, but will Microsoft also confirm a PS5 version? There’s been a lot of talk about Microsoft potentially returning to Xbox exclusives since new CEO Asha Sharma took over, so it will be interesting to see if any games at the showcase skip Sony’s console. I’m also hoping for firm release dates for inXile Entertainment’s Clockwork Revolution, Undead Labs’ State of Decay 3, and Rare’s recently delayed Fable. Meanwhile, we know we’ll get a look at the DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 during the show. Now, let’s speculate a little. We know Bethesda is working on a number of new games, but will any turn up at Xbox Games Showcase? How about that Fallout 3 Remaster? Could The Elder Scrolls 6 finally show off gameplay? Despite the fact TES6 was announced aeons ago, it showing up here somehow feels like wishful thinking. One thing we know won’t be at Xbox Games Showcase is Project Helix, Microsoft’s next-generation console. This one’s all about the games, the company has confirmed. And, just like during Sony’s State of Play showcase, don’t expect GTA 6 to pop up at Xbox Games Showcase. Rockstar, as we all know, will do its own thing when it’s good and ready. It’s worth noting that Xbox Games Showcase trailers will continue to display rival platforms, including PlayStation 5, but this may be the last time Microsoft does so. “Seeing the feedback on logos. It was a miss, and I own it,” Sharma said last month. “We are talking about how we adjust for future Xbox shows.” While you wait to find out what Xbox has in store, let us know what you’re hoping to see in the comments below! And be sure to come back here in time for Xbox Games Showcase itself, and we’ll have everything announced as it happens. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. The best Shikai, Schrift and Resurrections in VV Ultimatum, similar to Type Soul, aren’t only the Legendary ones. There’s some really strong Uncommons and Rares, especially with upgrades and variants. Here’s my complete VV Ultimatum tier list for Shinigami Shikai, Quincy Schrifts and Hollow Resurrections. Table of contentsVV Ultimatum Shinigami Shikai Tier ListS-Tier ShikaiA-Tier ShikaiB-Tier ShikaiC-Tier ShikaiVV Ultimatum Quincy Schrift Tier ListS-Tier SchriftA-Tier SchriftB-Tier SchriftC-Tier SchriftVV Ultimatum Hollow Resurrection Tier ListS-Tier ResurrectionsA-Tier ResurrectionsB-Tier ResurrectionsC-Tier Resurrections VV Ultimatum Shinigami Shikai Tier Listhttps://embeds.beehiiv.com/a8d62108-86ed-4039-bf49-44877ba62c15 Image by Destructoid The best Shinigami Shikai ability in VV Ultimate is Ice for straight PVP and Sengonzakura for both PVP and PVE due to its mode. The A-Tier has good alternatives for damage, the B-Tier has Shikai that require more setup but are still good and the C-Tier is for weaker abilities. Let’s dive into the individual ranking reasons. S-Tier Shikai AbilityRanking BreakdownSenbonzakura Legendary • The most stacked and powercreeping Shikai in the game • Senbonzakura has no Shikai variants but the moveset is full of move variants for mixing up combos and dealing great damage • The M2 is an amazing combo extension and follow-up • It gets even stronger in your mode with stronger M1s and your M2s being dash attacks • Last but not least you get a powerful nuke finisher move for combo endingIce Uncommon • Massive combo potential with the freeze trail • The clone is excellent utility too • Plus, the Red Ice variant is really good if you want to set up slower moves since it increases freeze time A-Tier Shikai AbilityRanking BreakdownFlame Uncommon • Quite impressive damage here but the first move is telegraphed and slow so it’s lower combo potential than Ice • The dash strike is really good though for combo follow-ups and mobility • Once you combine it with Strength/Speed you can output some excellent DPS in PVP and PVE • The DoT variant isn’t worth it though B-Tier Shikai AbilityRanking BreakdownReversal Common • Reversal works well with Hakuda/Speed so it makes for a pretty good combo Shikai • The clone is very telegraphed and obvious but that doesn’t stop you from pressuring your opponent and outputting decent damage • It’s just not as much damage as Flame/Flower and not as combo-oppressive as IceInk Rare • Ink deals decent damage but the problem is that the running move is very slow and telegraphed • This makes it harder to use in PVP than other Shikais • The dashing slash move is pretty good though • I’m testing it some more and will rerank it if I figure out a good combo for it in other skill trees but for now it’s B-Tier C-Tier Shikai AbilityRanking BreakdownWaypoint Rare • Not that strong since it lacks damage and combo potential • Great mobility in combat but it doesn’t combo well with anything • Useful for traversal but airwalk pretty much takes care of that Related: VV Ultimatum Codes VV Ultimatum Quincy Schrift Tier List Image by Destructoid The best Quincy Schrift is easily Superstar but it’s also one of the strongest movesets across all factions (You’ll see why below). There are some excellent alternatives in the A-Tier and B-Tiers with the B-Tier requiring more setup. The C-Tier Schrifts are decent but are overall weaker than the higher tiers. Here are my individual ranking reasons for all Schrifts ranked. S-Tier Schrift AbilityRanking BreakdownSuperstar Legendary • Superstar is easily the best Quincy Schrift and one of the best movesets overall in VV • Super Fan is great for buffing the damage of all your moves and focus on the Popularity heal customization for defense • The teleport kick and then your mode’s teleport punch deal massive damage and posture and are great for comboing with Hakuda • Overall you have a ton of damage and heals with Superstar making it incredibly powerful A-Tier Schrift AbilityRanking BreakdownThunderbolt Uncommon • Excellent damage, AOE and range • Blue Jets is amazing for making Electric Blitz faster for PVP • The Dragon Thunder variant is great for PVE • One of the best Schrifts in the game B-Tier Schrift AbilityRanking BreakdownNecromancer Rare • Necromancer is either really strong or really bad so I put it in the middle tier • It’s really strong with the variant where your summons freeze for setting up combos • Plus if you get some good summons, lock them in with the first skill and close distance you can apply a ton of pressure • The downside is that some summons are really bad, some are buggy, and your opponent can sometimes flashstep away to despawn your summon • I’ve had varying success and it’s a really fun Schrift to use, but it can be a hit or miss Heat Rare • Heat is more reliable than Necromancer but with a slightly lower potential • Still, Heat can deal some great damage if you know how to combo the moves well • It’s just less damage than Thunderbolt and less combo potential than Superstar • As for the drain variant, draining Rei isn’t as OP as in Type Soul but it’s still pretty good for PVP in VV C-Tier Schrift AbilityRanking BreakdownDimensional Uncommon • Dimensional has a lot of defensive mobility • That said it’s not as strong in PVP and PVE as other Schrifts • I wouldn’t take the Variant since Tear the Skies is your main damage unless you’re only using Dimensional for mobility with portals on a Speed/Hakuda buildBlademaster Common • Quite a decent Schrift for beginners • It just doesn’t deal as much damage as the higher-tiers or has a smaller hitbox so the moves are harder to hit VV Ultimatum Hollow Resurrection Tier List Image by Destructoid The best Resurrection in VV Ultimate for Hollow players depends on playstyle. Los Lobos is great if you want to go for a Kido build and Luminosity is for overal combos with Hakuda, Speed and sometimes Strength. If you don’t like how these two play, the A-Tier has some great alternatives that aren’t as dependent on a specific build. Let’s dive into the rankings. Tip: Combine these Resurrection rankings with my Hollow Traits tier list for the best build. S-Tier Resurrections AbilityRanking BreakdownLos Lobos Legendary • There’s a ton of ranged damage and air combo potential here with the air launcher light attack follow-up • Combine it with Kido for a ton of ranged damage and kiting potential • It’s less flexibile in this way than other Legendaries since it doesn’t work well with Hakuda and sometimes Strength • Still, the various firing modes, Cero Metralleta nukes and combos make Los Lobos one of the top 5 movesets in the gameLuminosity Uncommon • Luminosity combos really well with Hakuda and Speed for a ton of combo potential • It’s very skill-based and relies on combos a lot but with practice it has the potential to be one of the best Hollow movesets • Plus you get some ranged options for combo starters and finishing off lower HP enemies A-Tier Resurrections AbilityRanking BreakdownShark Rare • Shark has great moves overall for pure damage and combos • It’s less move-stack-based than Fury but deals more damage • The variant is also really good for even more damageFury Rare • Fury is a very skill-based moveset due to its combos • With Elastic you can movestack a lot due to the pull • The dash grab true combos into the Dragon uppercut • Overall fits really well with other skill trees like Hakuda B-Tier Resurrections AbilityRanking BreakdownFrozen Haze Common • Only good with a few upgrades and due to the AOE mute move • It’s quite powerful but the moveset is heavily reliant on it • That’s why I put it slightly lower than other Resurrections C-Tier Resurrections AbilityRanking BreakdownElectro Uncommon • Electro is decent but the overall damage and combo potential is lower than other Resurrections • It also doesn’t have a single powerful move like Frozen Haze and its variants are just cosmetic That’s it for my VV Ultimatum Shikai, Schrift and Resurrection tier list. Check out my VV Ultimatum Clan Tier List for more guides on the game. /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post VV Ultimatum Shikai, Schrift & Resurrection Tier List appeared first on Destructoid. The Burnt Peanut Sprite is an option unlike any other in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and we can find it while exploring the island map. This is the only Sprite that’s based on a real-life person, and we can find it to add to our existing collection. This guide will help in your search if you haven’t already managed to find him. Table of contentsHow to obtain the Burnt Peanut Sprite in FortniteBurnt Peanut Sprite buff explained in Fortnitehttps://embeds.beehiiv.com/a8d62108-86ed-4039-bf49-44877ba62c15 How to obtain the Burnt Peanut Sprite in Fortnite The only way to get the Burnt Peanut Sprite is to open chests. Typically, Sprites can be found in open areas of the map. You can also find them around Extraction Sites. However, the same rule doesn’t apply for the Burnt Peanut Sprite. Based on the available information on social media, there’s a 1.5% chance to get this specific Sprite when you open a chest. Statistically, there’s one chance to get him if you open 67 chests. In simple words, you’ll need to get extremely lucky to find him. Image via Epic If you manage to find the Sprite, your first task is to look for an Extraction Site. While extracting Sprites in general is very rewarding, the incentive rises in this case. Since the Burnt Peanut Sprite is so rare, you’ll lose it if you die. Once you manage to extract it, the Sprite will be added to your collection. You can then spawn it as long as you have the necessary Sprite Dust. Burnt Peanut Sprite buff explained in Fortnite The Burnt Peanut Sprite has one of the strongest buffs in the game. It will help you get more loot from eliminations. The base chance of finding the extra loot is at 20%, but it goes up by 10% every time you level up. If you manage to reach the max level, you’ll have chance to get 60% extra loot from eliminations, with a 10% modifier for it to be a Mythic item. However, it’s not the only Sprite that you can find in the game. There are plenty of options available, with each having a unique in-game ability. You can always look to find something that suits your gameplay the most. /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post How to get the Burnt Peanut Sprite in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 appeared first on Destructoid. There are plenty of different Sprites to find in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, but some of them are quite rare. Every Sprite has a powerful in-game ability that goes above their cuteness. Thankfully, the community has come up with an easy way to trade for variants that might be missing in your collection. Disclaimer: There’s no official way to trade for Sprites. The method is community-sourced. How to trade Sprites with other players in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3https://embeds.beehiiv.com/a8d62108-86ed-4039-bf49-44877ba62c15 First, we will have to find a community where we can find other players also looking to trade their Sprites. The best option is the Sprite Trading HQ Discord server, which has already been crowded by many players like me. Next, go do the Sprite Trading tab (if you have joined the server). Share which Sprite you want to trade and what you would like to get in return. Alternatively, you can also make a direct offer to someone if it’s of mutual interest. Screenshot by Destructoid Once a trade has been established, equip the Sprite you wish to trade and invite them to your lobby. For this method, it’s best to use a bot lobby to avoid getting killed by other players. Begin a round, drop from the bus, and reach the island. Next, both of you will need to find a second Sprite in the open. This step is important since you need to have an extra Sprite in your collection. Once you find the extra Sprite, switch the one you have in your backpack. Now, you can drop the Sprite you want to trade. Screenshot by Destructoid Once done, both of you will have to pick up the Sprite you were looking for. Then, head to the Extraction Site and place the Sprites over there. Once the extraction is complete, the new Sprites will be added to your collection. When you trade a Sprite, you lose it only temporarily. Screenshot by Destructoid It will remain in your collection, and you can equip it by spending the necessary Sprite Dust. However, the new one that you traded for will also be available in your collection. That’s how easy it is to trade and get every available Sprite in Fortnite. /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post How to trade Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 appeared first on Destructoid. There's been a lot of buzz lately surrounding what's next for The Last of Us franchise, especially with season 2 of the HBO show being quite divisive among fans of the original games. Currently, filming for the third season of the show is underway, with a fourth season planned as well, but after some questionable character decisions and major diversions from the source material in the last season, gamers are starting to worry about its future. Chapter 7 Season 3 in Fortnite has introduced three new bosses to defeat, and we can find them in different locations on the map. Just like the previous season, there is no fixed spot. However, it’s important to figure out the strategy you want to adopt against them. I have marked spots in the image above where I have encountered bosses. However, there’s no guarantee that you’ll find them in the same spots. With 2026 roughly halfway over at this point, it's been an incredible year so far on the indie game front, with several top-tier releases from small-time developers that have become instant hits in the past six months. Despite 2025 being an absolute monster year for indie games, I'd venture to say that this year might top last year's roster already. View the full article

The Duck Race is one of many minigames to complete in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and you can get plenty of rewards without having to do much. Once you’re at the correct location, you can trigger the race to watch the ducks race one another. Wins and losses don’t matter since you’ll get valuable loot for your effort, which might also include the Mythic Shotgun. How to complete the Duck Race in Fortnite First, we have to reach the location of the race. The ducks are located towards the northern edges of Heatwave Harbor. If you reach the marked spot on the image below, you’ll find a bridge. Activate the switch to begin the race. [Hidden Content] Screenshot by Destructoid This will then drop the ducks, and they will begin their race. Follow the ducks, and they will collide with four boxes. While they gain speed, the collision will drop loot for you to keep. There will be three sets of boxes, so you need to follow the ducks to the end. Screenshot by Destructoid Once the race ends, the ducks will drop the best set of rewards. This typically includes Chug *****, which is great when it comes to healing yourself. However, you’ll also have a high chance of getting the Mythic Striker Pump shotgun. Screenshot by Destructoid This isn’t a guaranteed drop, but you’ll still get some wonderful items nevertheless. The shotgun does an incredible amount of damage at close range, so it’s definitely worth triggering the race if you can. The area of the race will be highly contested, so prepare yourself accordingly. I have had other players trying to interfere with the race and loot the items.
