  4. Bungie’s limited-edition Marathon DualSense controller has dropped in price far quicker than expected, and it’s not a small cut either. Just weeks after launch, the PS5 gamepad is down 18%, now sitting at $69.68 at both Amazon and Walmart, which is a new low for the design. Get it at Amazon - $69.68Get it at Walmart - $69.68 The controller ties into Marathon, Bungie's newly released extraction shooter. To mark the launch, Sony rolled out a small range of themed PS5 accessories back in March, with this special edition DualSense front and centre. Design-wise, it’s more restrained than most limited-edition pads. The base is the standard white shell you’d expect from a DualSense controller, but it’s layered with ****** and neon green Marathon iconography across the grips and touchpad. Flip it over, and you’ll find the game’s logo stamped across the back in matching neon lettering, subtle enough not to be garish, but distinctive enough to stand out on a shelf. It's purely a cosmetic upgrade, but at this price, it’s edging closer to standard DualSense pricing territory, which makes the limited-edition controller a whole lot more compelling than it was at launch. Bungie recently released its 1.0.6 Patch update for Marathon, which focused on encourgaing players "to be nice" alongside plenty of other big gameplay changes. It even looks like Bungie's attempt to make Marathon that bit more casual-friendly are so far helping, with reactions fairly positive since the update was pushed out. For more on Bungie's ongoing extraction shooter, be sure to check out our full Marathon review or use our guides to help you with more successful runs. 5. If you're curious whether or not luck is on your side, diving into BitLife's Lady Luck weekly challenge is a great way to find out. This is one of the tougher ones you'll face, as there's a lot of random chance involved in successfully completing it. Tackling weekly challenges is a great way to get your hands on some special prizes, as well as a fun method for trying new gameplay feats. There's plenty to get done in this one, so here's how to complete the Lady Luck challenge in BitLife. Table of contentsBitLife Lady Luck challenge walkthroughBe born a female in Nevada in BitLifeBecome a famous mobile app developer in BitLifeWin $1M+ in casino winnings in BitLifeWin $5M+ in divorce settlements in BitLifeHave the witch doctor cure an illness in BitLifeBitLife Lady Luck challenge walkthrough Screenshot by Destructoid The Lady Luck challenge is a bit on the shorter side, with only five key goals you need to tackle to check off this trial in BitLife: Be born a female in Nevada.Become a famous mobile app developer.Win $1M+ in casino winnings.Win $5M+ in divorce settlements.Have the witch doctor cure an illness. Be born a female in Nevada in BitLife To kick off your Lady Luck journey, start a fresh life, and when making your character, be sure to make them a female who is born in Nevada. You'll want to select Las Vegas as your birth city to make this happen. Become a famous mobile app developer in BitLife Now that you've been born the required gender in the right region, your next goal is to become a famous mobile app developer. It's going to take you quite a bit to get to this point, so this is more of a long-term goal within the challenge. First, focus on aging your character up and keeping your smarts stat as high as possible. You can do so by studying hard in school, reading, visiting the library, and other similar tasks that refine your mental aptitude. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid When you finally reach university, study computer science and work on earning a degree. Your goal is to use this degree to join any job with the title App Developer listed next to it in parentheses. There are a few different jobs you might find with this title, including ones like App Tester and Jr. App Developer. If you don't see any of these jobs listed at first, close and reopen the app to refresh the available options until you find one. Once you get any type of job in the App Developer field, you'll automatically gain some fame. This means all you have to do to check off this portion of the weekly challenge is simply get a job in the right field. Win $1M+ in casino winnings in BitLife Next up, you need to get 1,000,000$ or more in casino winnings. This step really comes down to luck and random chance, making it one of, if not the hardest, goals to get done here. Select the Activities tab in the bottom right corner, choose the Gamble option, and select Blackjack to start playing. Succeeding here is entirely based on luck and playing strategically. There's not much you can do to boost your odds of winning, here, but understanding how Blackjack works does help. Generally, you should pick hit when your hand's value is 11 or more, and pick stand if it's 17 or higher. Bet a lot and keep at it over the years to eventually secure the money you need. Screenshot by Destructoid Win $5M+ in divorce settlements in BitLife Your next mission is to win $5,000,000 in divorce settlements. The first step is to get a relationship, which is easiest to do by selecting the Activities tab, choosing the Love option, and choosing Date or Dating App. Try to find a partner who is pretty wealthy, as you'll be needing to get a lot of money from them for this task. Next, work on building your relationship by complimenting them, chatting, giving them gifts, and otherwise performing nice actions. Once the relationship has flourished, you should propose and get married. If they ask for a prenup, make sure you decline. Then, divorce them and take as much money as you can in the settlement. You likely won't be able to get the full $5,000,000 you need on the first go, so repeat this process with a few different partners until you meet the required amount. Have the witch doctor cure an illness in BitLife You've made it to the final task in the Lady Luck challenge, which asks you to have the witch doctor cure an illness. The first step here is to get an illness of some kind. Any illness works, but for the purposes of this task, the best method is to make a social media account and troll the BitLife page, as doing so always grants you a random disease. To do so, select the Activities page, scroll down to Social Media, and choose an option like Facebook or Twitter. Then, select the Troll option under the Twitter page and choose the @BitLifeApp account. You'll get a disease for doing so. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you have a disease, select the Activities tab again, scroll down to the Doctor option, and select the Witch Doctor. Pay the fee and see if they can heal you. It might not work on the first try, so keep visiting them until it eventually does. Once your disease is fixed by them, the Lady Luck challenge will be complete. If you're up for it, there are lots of other weekly challenges in the BitLife vault, which means you can go back and get to work on them. Some tricky ones to tackle next are the Real Housewife challenge, the Attack Titan challenge, the Lucky Duck challenge, and the Kahlo My World challenge. 6. After several rumors and leaks in 2025 surrounding the potential release of Half-Life 3, hype around the game hit an all-time high last year, despite predictions not panning out. The status of the game remains under wraps, assuming Valve is even working on it at all, and while that would be enough to deter any other fandom, HL3 hopefuls never say die. View the full article
  7. Bandai Namco has officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, the latest installment in its fighting game series. Revealed during the annual Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event in Los Angeles, Xenoverse was confirmed to be in development at Dimps for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, with a release window of 2027. The last Xenoverse game was released a decade ago, in 2016. “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 continues the series’ legacy with a completely new Dragon Ball experience, where players choose the hero they want to become in an unexplored Dragon Ball world brought to life by the original author, Akira Toriyama,” Bandai Namco said. 8. A major plot point that could play into The Last of Us: Part 3 has been revealed by a former Naughty Dog developer. Speaking via the podcast KiwiTalkz, ex-Naughty Dog lighting artist Gabriel Betancourt has discussed a surprising conversation he once had with franchise creator Neil Druckmann — who revealed that main character Ellie was just one of a "congregation" of people with immunity to the zombie-like cordyceps infection. Ellie's seemingly unique immunity plays a huge role in the first The Last of Us game, and particularly in its ending — where Joel is forced to choose between saving her or saving humanity. The impact of his decision then reverberates through The Last of Us Part 2, and is something Druckmann himself has added further context. Last year, Druckmann confirmed that a cure for humanity would definitely have been made, had Joel chosen differently — information that upended years of fan debate, and split the series' fanbase anew. Understandably, then, fans have reacted in surprise to this latest tidbit of information — which discusses Ellie being far less unique than she (or Joel) believed. "I felt like the pillar of the story was Ellie being the only person with the cure," Betancourt said. "And so protecting her, and making sure she got to where she needs to go to save humanity — because without the cure life is hopeless — that's what created the gravity of that world. That was the context that made The Last of Us special. "The gravitas of that is really centered around her being the only one [with a cure]," he continued, recalling a conversation he then had with Druckmann where the latter revealed that this really was not the case. "Neil said 'Yeah, but several people are immune. There's a place, there's a whole congregation of that kind of person, and what I want to do is to tel a more sophisticated story. I want to tell a story with multiple characters and kind of expand on that'." Of course, it should be stated that this conversation took place years ago (Betancourt departed Naughty Dog over a decade back, following work on The Last of Us: Left Behind), and Druckmann's plans for the series may have changed. Still, fans have quickly begun debating what it might mean for the series — and whether we'll eventually see this "congregation" one day. "As happy as I am to sit back and let ND cook up whatever they want… I am vehemently against this," The Last of Us fan suffywuffy wrote via reddit. "Part of what makes Joel's [decision] so impactful in the game is that Ellie is that 1 in 7 billion messiah type figure. Having multiple immune people/a whole community drastically impacts the emotional stakes of the ending of P1. "I already disliked what the show did when it shows how/why Ellie is immune," they continued, "as she is now something that can be recreated by someone depraved/desperate enough." HBO's The Last of Us TV series has given a reason for why Ellie is immune, though the circumstances are pretty unique. Here, it's explained that Ellie received a small amount of the coryceps infection from her mother while still in the womb, though not enough to infect her. This has provided her just enough for the cordyceps to since treat her as already infected — and not reinfect her again. This latest news comes just a week after Druckmann shared some of his first ever sketches for the characters that became Joel and Ellie — and suggested that the story of their world still wasn't over. "Cleaning out the garage today and stumbled on my original sketches from 2003 for a game pitch about a man, his surrogate daughter, and a trek across a broken America," Druckmann wrote. "Been a wild journey," he continued. "Grateful for every part of it, especially the few stops that remain on the road ahead." Druckmann has never ruled out making a third chapter of the saga, and Naughty Dog's official Grounded 2: Making The Last of Us Part 2 documentary even ends with Druckmann stating that he feels "there's one more chapter to this story." Ellie finally meeting with a "congregation" of other immune survivors feels like a chapter worth telling. In the meantime, Naughty Dog is busy building Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which Druckmann is directing. The studio also has a second game in production that's being directed by Shaun Escayg, who previously helmed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Tom Phillips is IGN's News Editor. 9. A Counter-Strike 2 tournament has slapped a player with a 10-year ban after he punched his opponent live on-stage at a local ******* LAN. 30-year-old CS2 player and streamer MAUschine, from Berlin, punched his opponent, Fabian "Spidergum" Salomon, during the awards ceremony at the CAGGTUS Leipzig CS2 tournament, which formed a part of the largest LAN party in the *******-speaking world. MAUschine’s team had lost to the Spidergum’s Legends Lobby during the tournament. Based on footage of the event, MAUschine appears to have been upset by Spidergum mimicking his own victory calls. In the video, below, Spidergum yells "papichulo" after winning a round. MAUschine had been yelling "papichulo," his own alias, after kills. VIDEO Showing his Reasoning behind the Punch [Hidden Content] — ClipGD (@ClipGD) April 19, 2026 The punch occured as the players took to the stage during the awards portion yesterday, April 19. The clearly shocked host eventually orders MAUschine off-stage, with Spidergum left bemused by what had happened to him. The CS2 tournament in question, categorized as 'Tier S,' was a 5v5 that began on Friday, with first place taking a 'Beginner LAN Seat 2027,' second place a 'bequiet Pure Rock Pro 3 LX,' and third place a 'free hot beverage flat rate 2027.' As reported by DotEsports, the tournament organizer, DACH CS Masters, issued a 10-year suspension while issuing the following statement in *******: “We do not tolerate physical assaults against other players at LAN and have acted accordingly. MAUschine is banned for at least 10 years and the incident has additionally been reported to ESIC [Esports Integrity Commission]. In case it wasn’t clear, we think violence has no place in our league.” Regnum4games, the ******* esports organization Spidergum is a member of, said it will provide Spidergum with legal support, and there already calls for MAUschine to be banned for life. However, Spidergum himself appeared to play down the incident, saying in a post on Twitter / X: "Bullseye from MAUschine, better aim than with the AWP and especially on stream.” I suspect MAUschine won't be back next year to cash in on that free hot beverage. 10. As players beat each other senseless — uh, in-game, of course — during last weekend's Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, Bandai Namco pulled back the cover on what Dragon Ball fans can expect from the franchise over the next 12 months or so, including confirmation of the final DLC pack for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and the formal unveiling Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Missed it? No sweat. Here's everything that was announced during the livestream… Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol If you're looking for the details, I'm sorry to say there aren't any — all we really got was the name! — but we're told Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will seemingly adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc from the manga, and the Universe Survival arc from the anime (thanks, Polygon). Dragon Ball Super: Beerus The upcoming enhanced edition of the anime Dragon Ball Super: Beerus got a new Super Gekitou teaser during the Dragon Ball Super Special Panel, giving fans an "early look at the upgraded visual presentation and the intense battle between Son Goku and the God of Destruction Beerus." The trailer also teases another powerful threat on the horizon with the return of Frieza. We were also treated to a panel boasting Masako Nozawa (voice of Son Goku), Koichi Yamadera (voice of Beerus), Jason Douglas (English dub voice of Beerus), and Akio Iyoku, executive producer of the Dragon Ball franchise, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Bandai Namco had already teased that it was coming, but now it's confirmed — Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X in 2027. Described as a "completely new Dragon Ball world by Akira Toriyama," Xenoverse 3 "continues the series' legacy with a completely new Dragon Ball experience, where players choose the hero they want to become in an unexplored Dragon Ball world brought to life by the original author." Dragon Ball Super Card Game: Fusion World and Game Game Masters The Impact Beyond Dimensions booster pack is set to launch in July, and Story Booster 01 — which boasts 12 new cards across 85 card types — will release on August 21. The Chromatic Ascension booster pack will release towards the end of the year. Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero Super Limit Breaking Neo Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC, which introduces new characters, stages, and an all-new game mode, will drop in Summer 2026. The "major expansion" will reportedly "answer community expectations and elevate the experience to new heights" with "massive" new content additions marking "the most ambitious evolution of the game to date." There'll also be a free update introducing a new battle system, too. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: Future Saga Chapter 4 Although it was only a couple of minutes long, we did get a peek at the final DLC pack for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 — Future Saga Chapter 4. It's set to launch in Summer 2026 (or Q3, if you're down under). Interestingly, we also learned that a number of Dragon Ball-flavored mobile games like Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, Dragon Ball Legends, and Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra will each get their own collab with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as we mark the game's final update. The latter will also host its own world championship tourney later this year. Dragon Ball FighterZ While there was no mention of Dragon Ball FighterZ during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 itself, publisher Bandai Namco did separately confirm that we'll get the next DLC character, Goku, for the fighting game on April 22. 15. Pragmata has sold 1 million copies in two days, Capcom has announced. In its sales announcement, the Japanese game company highlighted Pragmata’s status as a new intellectual property. “A completely new IP, Pragmata was developed primarily by a team of younger Capcom developers, who created an innovative gameplay experience by fusing action gameplay with puzzle elements set within a distinctive world ruled over by artificial intelligence,” Capcom said. “In the absence of an established fan base or preexisting brand recognition, Capcom implemented a range of marketing initiatives — beginning with the early release of a playable demo — to communicate the unique features of the game to a wider audience. In addition, in line with the company’s multiplatform strategy, Capcom broadened the title’s availability by adding support for Nintendo Switch 2 at an early stage. As a result, these initiatives generated significant momentum, enabling Pragmata to achieve worldwide sales of over 1 million units in just two days despite being a completely new IP, marking a strong start for the title." Pragmata is a sci-fi action-adventure game that revolves around Hugh, a member of an ill-fated investigation team, and Diana, a young android, as they navigate a lunar facility taken over by rogue AI in search of a way to Earth. There’s even a comment from the Pragmata development team, which also doubled down on the game being a new IP: "As a completely new IP, Pragmata represents a new challenge for Capcom, built from the ground up with an original world and gameplay concept. We are truly delighted that so many players around the world have enjoyed the game, enabling us to reach this milestone of 1 million units sold. Moving forward, we will continue making every effort to deliver the appeal of Pragmata to an even broader audience." It sounds like Pragmata is a success for Capcom, then, and that last line there about delivering Pragmata to an even broader audience suggests this is the start of a new franchise for the publisher. IGN's Pragmata review returned an 8/10. We said: "Punchy shooting action and a creative hacking-puzzle gameplay mechanic make combat the true highlight of Pragmata. The story may seem like an afterthought, but its sci-fi drama gives enough to see it all the way through and experience this satisfying third-person shooter." Wesley is Director, News at IGN. 16. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 star Charlie Cox has discussed the hit video game's upcoming movie adaptation — and expressed interest in providing a very specific part. In the game, Cox provides the voice of hero Gustave — but not his performance capture or his facial likeness, which appears very similar to Batman actor Robert Pattinson. It's a situation that has led Cox to frequently downplay his actual involvement in the game's production — despite continually being praised for his contribution. Now, Cox has said he would be happy to return to provide the voice of Gustave in live-action, though humorously suggested it should be Robert Pattinson himself who does the acting. (Whether Pattinson would be interested in the role, or being dubbed over by Cox, is another matter.) "My involvement with this, as minuscule as it was originally and how it's now expanded so much, has been nothing but an incredibly humbling and enjoyable experience," Cox told GamesRadar+. "So, yeah, absolutely, yeah. I was thinking that they should probably – if they make the movie – they should get Robert Pattinson to play the part, and I should do the voice. Because then they would have pretty much the exact Gustave from the game." While many fans have suggested Gustave's looks were based on Pattinson's own face, developer Sandfall Interactive has maintained that the character is based upon one of its own employees, with a handsome mustache then added. Cox was speaking at the BAFTA Games Awards 2026, where the widely-praised Clair Obscur snagged yet more prizes — this time for Best Game, Debut Game, and Performer in a Leading Role for Jennifer English. Plans for a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 live-action movie adaptation were announced prior to the game's release, with Sandfall partnering with Story Kitchen, the production company behind the hugely successful Sonic the Hedgehog films, as well as the upcoming Tomb Raider TV series starring Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner. No other details about the film such as casting or a release window have been revealed. Image credit: John Nacion/Variety via Getty Images. Tom Phillips is IGN's News Editor. 17. Battlestate Games has released update 1.0.4.5 for Escape from Tarkov, which makes a number of improvements and balance changes. The influential extraction shooter has increased the FPS limit in menus, and made changes to the animation system and audio engine to improve PC resource usage. Meanwhile, the architecture of post-raid systems is reworked to reduce the time required to exit a raid and return to the menu. Also of note, Battlestate has updated the left-shoulder firing stance logic, so switching to the right shoulder will no longer happen instantly when colliding with obstacles. Instead, the weapon will continue moving for a short ******* without changing stance. As for balance changes, Battlestate has introduced the second stage of weapon mod adjustments, focusing on barrels and handguards. The patch notes, as per Battlestate Games, are below. Switching to the right shoulder will no longer happen instantly when colliding with obstacles. Instead, the weapon will continue moving for a short ******* without changing stance;Updated the K/D display in character stats. It now counts player kills only.Balancing changes With this update, we introduce the second stage of weapon mod adjustments, focusing on barrels and handguards. Muzzle devices and stocks were further adjusted based on the first iteration. Barrels follow the same principle as before. Longer barrels provide greater recoil reduction but impose higher ergonomics penalties. Changes were made to: Standardize parameters and make them clearer.Make the choice between short and long barrels more meaningful. Handguards no longer reduce recoil. Their role is now to offset ergonomics penalties imposed by barrels. Muzzle devices were further refined following the first iteration. Suppressors and their combinations with compensators now reduce ergonomics more and affect recoil less. These changes are intended to further increase the popularity of unsuppressed weapon builds. Adjustments to muzzle flash are planned for future updates. Buttstocks received minor adjustments, mainly addressing inaccuracies and issues from the first iteration. Base characteristics of many weapons have been updated to better align with the new balance. Recoil and ergonomics have been improved for the following: All AK, AKM, and AK-100 series weapons;Steyr AUG A1;Steyr AUG A3;HK G36;HK 416A5;FN SCAR-L;FN SCAR-H;SIG MCX-SPEAR;SIG MCX .300;CMMG Mk47 Mutant;Rifle Dynamics RD-704;Aklys Defense Velociraptor; All machine guns; All bolt-action and marksman rifles chambered in 7.62x51, 7.62x54R, .338, and .50 BMG.FixesFixed an issue where dead players and bots could appear to move visually in certain cases;Fixed an issue where damage would not register after a weapon malfunction if the player had previously used a stationary weapon;Fixed the cause of error 228 during trader dialogues that could block task progression;Fixes to culling, shadows, textures, and location geometry;Fixed an issue where armor could not be picked up if it was dropped while interacting with the modification window;Fixed the incorrect behavior of PMC bots toward player Scavs with Fence reputation 6 or higher in PvE Zone;Fixed an issue preventing further progression in The Labyrinth after spawning in the room requiring a burner tool to exit;Fixed the incorrect display of smoke grenades in the player’s hands if another player threw a smoke grenade at them;Fixed the display of changes in the “Combat Skill Leveling Boost” field in the Hall of Fame Hideout zone when one dogtag was replaced with another of a similar level;Fixed an issue where PostFX settings would not display when preview was enabled;Fixed an issue where some players could get stuck in the secret saferoom on Interchange without a way to exit;Fixed the incorrect display of stationary weapons used by bots and multiple cases where bots could float while using them;Fixed multiple issues with incorrect behavior of loot and gear items when dropped in raid;Fixed the display of current movement noise level and stance height during raids;Fixed the third-person animation for inspecting your own inventory. The sci-fi action adventure game was released on Friday and passed a million sales over the weekend, according to Capcom.
