Destiny 2 The Final Shape had a different ending before Bungie delayed it until June 2024—and its reveal proves that Bungie did the right thing by taking the time to work on the expansion. Spoilers ahead, of course. Destiny Bulletin posted the pre-delay version of Destiny 2 The Final Shape ending cinematic, which was revealed by Bungie on June 18. The cinematic is an alternative version of the cutscene where Cayde-6 sacrifices himself to bring our Ghost back after defeating The Witness. The 25th anniversary of one of the longest-running franchises in gaming history has passed with no thunderous applause and no bang whatsoever. Valve only found it apt to publish a single tweet for this landmark milestone, leaving many Counter-Strike fans disgruntled and disappointed. Counter-Strike launched into beta on June 19, 1999, precisely 25 years ago. For the 20th anniversary of the franchise, Valve launched a CS20 case in 2019, which included numerous skins inspired by the franchise’s history. Following the massive meta shift introduced by the 7.36 update, Dota 2 has seen some heroes skyrocket in popularity and viability. One such example is Shadow Fiend, who was a powerful pick even before the changes. Now, players are calling for him to be nerfed or at least become “less oppressive.” The calls for a change gained traction with a June 20 Reddit thread where a player expressed their desperate wish for Shadow Fiend to be adjusted and become a more balanced pick. “Hope you SF players had your fun this month, but can this hero f**k off now?” they asked. They named several of the benefits Shadow Fiend received as part of these recent changes to the meta, which include lower mana cost on his Razes, movement and ******* speed slows, lower cooldowns, Shard buffs, etc. They claim that Shadow Fiend doesn’t have a “trade-off” like other heroes do, where their power is counteracted by some other weakness, thus preserving their balance. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is almost here, but FromSoftware has cautioned a certain group of players about a bug that affects gameplay in Elden Ring. Earlier today, Elden Ring released a new patch that adds several adjustments to gameplay and adds support for the highly anticipated DLC, but it also came with a warning. On the official X/Twitter page for the game, the developers identified an issue related to the Steam Deck version of the game that causes inputs to become inoperable if you leave your Steam Deck idle for more than five minutes. While the name of the event certainly wants you to do a double take, it’s true: Apex Legends is getting a new Quads mode in its latest event, alongside a new collection of skins and a particularly devious-looking Lifeline Prestige skin. The Double Take collection event’s biggest draw is obviously Quads. Four-person teams will reign in the takeover LTM that will run until the end of the season, which will stretch all the way through July and should end on Aug. 5.
