  1. BitCraft: Age of Automata is getting a paid program that lets super fans support the fledgling project with a Support Badge, which then comes with perks like a unique title, Hexite Shards, and guaranteed access to all future playtests. The new paid Support Badge was first revealed by Clockwork Labs on July 1 on X (formerly Twitter), where the team stated these Support Badges were a way for fans to support BitCraft in its earliest stages. While the badge isn’t available to buy just yet, the developers confirmed it would be coming soon. View the full article
  2. Leon Kennedy in the Resident Evil 4 remake. | Image: Capcom Capcom is developing a new Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi confirmed during a summer “Capcom Next” livestream on Monday. “We’re making a new Resident Evil,” Nakanishi said during the show. “It was really difficult to figure out what to do after 7. But I found it, and to be honest it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.” That’s admittedly not much to go on, but I get the sense he’s hinting that this new game is the next major entry in the franchise. If that’s the case, we’ll have to see if Capcom calls it Resident Evil 9 or finds some sort of clever subtitle, like it did with the logo for Resident Evil Village. The news of a new Resident Evil... 3. Ever imagined what a combination of Helldivers 2 and Roblox would look like? Well, you don’t have to—someone already did, creating Darkdivers. Like its inspiration, Darkdivers features various updates you can unlock faster by using codes. In Darkdivers, you’ll get into plenty of missions that will (if completed successfully) reward you with Points and various goodies. While this will be your primary way of gathering resources in the Roblox game, Darkdivers codes give you a nice boost as you’ll continue to unlock more rewards with new codes becoming available. 5. Ive grown fond of farming runes in Elden Ring because of Shadow of the Erdtree, even if the way it is done is still somewhat repetitive. Farming runes is a vital step to take in order to level up, especially if you are feeling stuck on a certain boss encounter. As such, increasing your stats can be just what you need to get advantage over the opponent you are facing and take them down before they beat you. However, obtaining runes has always been an obnoxious task, as it often involves running routes with lesser enemies until you have enough to level up. View the full article
  6. The Pokémon Company (TPC) just made a huge reference to the famous “too much water” review of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and now it’s facing backlash from the community. To celebrate the end of Water-type Month, The Pokémon Company shared the article, “Water vs. Land: A Debate for the Ages,” written from the perspectives of Team Magma and Team Aqua. As the ********* organizations from Ruby, Sapphire, and their remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the beefing teams (unsurprisingly) had a lot of pretty nonsensical hot takes in the debate. It was admittedly an amusing read. View the full article
  7. With a new expansion in Final Fantasy XIV comes a new currency to hunt down, challenges to unlock, and dungeons to complete. With a new level cap and encounters, all players need to unlock the Expert Duty Roulette in their duty finder. The Expert Duty Roulette is a daily challenge you can complete on your FFXIV character. These provide you additional rewards, namely Gil and Allagan Tomestones, that reward you with the latest gear to prepare you for the upcoming challenges. The way you unlock the Expert Duty Roulette is not explicitly shared though. View the full article

The collab will include Okami-themed costumes for Kunitsu-Gami's main character, Soh, and the Maiden Yoshiro, as well as special weapons and music. Capcom added that if enough people work together and complete the bonus unlock compaign between between today and 7:59 p.m. PDT on July 17, 2024, the Okami collab items will be available as part of a free update for everyone who buys a copy of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess when it releases on July 19. You can see the details of the bonus unlock campaign below. We first learned about Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess just about a year ago at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, and got a good look at gameplay in March at the Xbox Partner Preview. Interestingly, as we noted at the time, it seems to be a real-time strategy game, blending third-person action with tower defense-style tactics mechanics. According to Capcom, "The game takes place on a mountain covered by defilement. During the day, purify the villages and prepare yourself for sundown. During the night, protect the Maiden against the hordes of the Seethe. Repeat the day and night cycle until you cleanse the mountain of defilement and return peace to the land." 14. The 1.6 update for Stardew Valley brought with it plenty of new content some of which is a bit more chilling than longtime players are used to. ConcernedApe has said he works on new updates for the cozy farming game when he needs to walk away from his work on his next title, The Haunted Chocolatier, but it seems the developer has carried over some of that haunted energy to his first game. 15. In Fallout 3—and Bethesda games more generally—sometimes you'll tell your companion to go away. You know: Go wait for me back at home base. They'll say okay and then run off. Most of us assume they just run off-screen and disappear. Maybe you tried to follow them once, but you probably didn't make it all the way home. You probably got distracted by an interesting ruin or ***** filled with loot and monsters... Read more.View the full article
  16. One of the best things about modern gaming is the recognition that not everyone plays games in the exact same way. Some of us like our games tough, some like to just blast through and see everything. Some like to go deeper than that - changing individual settings to customize how everything works. Dragon Age: The Veilguard errs on the side of trusting the player to choose how to approach the RPG, with tons of options to make sure your experience is truly your own. Read the rest of the story... 17. The moment I knew I would love Mortal Shell was when the extremely sparse soundtrack kicked in during a boss battle. 19. I don’t know a lot about meteorology. My local weather radar is a mostly frightening doohickey that I regard the way I assume ***** erectus might regard a quantum computer. 20. It looks even more ancient than a Fallout terminal, and that’s awesome. | Image: Atari It’s always worth revisiting the classics, and there’s no shortage of retro consoles and emulators to enable that. The Atari 400 Mini is more niche than we’re used to, however, and that’s what makes it so intriguing. The 8-bit retro replica console has dropped to $102 ($18 off) at Amazon in a limited-quantity opportunity that’s nearly halfway claimed. The Atari 400 was one of the brand’s first home consoles and computers, noted for the inclusion of a keyboard alongside its iconic joystick. It launched in 1979, which probably explains why I haven’t heard of most of the games in the lineup (my feet touched the planet in 1988). Asteroids, Star Raiders II, Centipede, and Berzerk ring a bell for me, and I’ve even played a few of them over... 21. Team Fortress 2's **** problem is an ongoing drama in PC gaming land: the issue seemingly went into overdrive when developer Valve stepped back from major work on the game in 2017. 22. After unexpectedly teasing the game last week, Capcom has shared new details on ***** Rising Deluxe Remaster, confirming among other things that it will release on September 18, 2024 and will utilize the RE Engine. Though it has been years since a new ***** Rising game was developed, the franchise's return seemed possible. In early February, Capcom posted a "Super Elections" survey on its website, asking players if they would like a sequel or spin-off to its dormant franchises, such as ***** Rising, Okami, and Dino Crisis. ***** Rising was originally released in 2006 and quickly became among the more desirable games available exclusively on the Xbox 360. The franchise would usher in a new franchise for Capcom during the late 2000s and 2010s, which included three sequels. The most recent entry in the franchise before the announcement of ***** Rising Deluxe Remaster was ***** Rising 4, released in 2016 for Xbox One and PC before a PS4 port titled Frank's Big Package was released a year later. ***** Rising 4 was met with mixed reception and was reported to have underperformed sales-wise. The poor sales performance of ***** Rising 4 led to the cancellation of a new ***** Rising game, in addition to the closing of Capcom Vancouver (formerly Blue Castle Games), which developed ***** Rising games, starting in 2010 with the ***** Rising 2 prequel Case Zero. In our review of ***** Rising, IGN wrote: "Though ***** Rising may seem like a simple, mindless game when you first pick it up, it eventually reveals itself as a deeper experience. Tons of extras are packed into Willamette's shops, there are magazine power-ups and special drink mixes to be brewed, lots of clothing combinations, countless pictures to be taken and plenty of NPCs to be saved."
