  4. After Midas became the most popular item in Dota 2 overnight, Valve quickly swooped in to fix the exploit related to it. But it didn’t take long for players to figure out another exploit with the same result, which is using the Hand of Midas with no cooldown whatsoever. Yesterday, Valve suddenly issued a 140 MB patch with no notes or announcement, which seems to have aimed to fix some bugs in the game, among them the Hand of Midas cooldown exploit. While it previously required Dota 2 players to use Midas, then drop it on the ground, purchase another from quick buy, and then sell it to refresh the dropped item’s cooldown, there’s now a different way to achieve the same result. If two players purchase the Hand of Midas, use it, and then swap it between each other, one of them will get two full charges of the item reset instantly, allowing the exploit to continue flourishing. 8. It's time for Command and Conquer to come back, and when I say Command and Conquer, I mean the absolute classics like Red Alert and Tiberian Dawn - as much as I might bemoan sequels, cash-ins, and the relentless march of IP, if a new C&C in the '90s style was announced today, I'd be jumping. That dream aside, the likes of Tempest Rising and Industrial Annihilation are keeping the genre alive, but there's one throwback RTS I've been watching for a while now, a game that's been incredibly quiet for over 12 months, but is suddenly, thankfully back with a big gameplay update. If you miss Tanya, the GDI, Kane, and the Ion Cannon, I bring you the extremely gorgeous DORF. Read the rest of the story... View the full article

  18. One of AMD's forthcoming new GPUs has seemingly just appeared in the Geekbench result browser, with the listing revealing some of the key specs of this new graphics card. It looks as though the first AMD Radeon 8000 GPUs are now being tested prior to launch, giving us our first glimpse of what could be in store with the new series based on the RDNA 4 architecture. If this listing is right, though, then the specs look pretty underwhelming. Current rumors already point to AMD focusing on mid-range performance with its new Radeon RX 8000 lineup, and leaving the flagship best graphics card title to Nvidia. This wouldn't be the first time AMD took this strategy either, with its Vega and first-gen RDNA GPUs also sitting below Nvidia's top-end options at the time. Read the rest of the story... 24. Wish you could play Goat Simulator 3 on the go? I've got great news, as it was announced during today's Nintendo Direct that the comedy sim is coming to Switch. As always, no, you didn't miss Goat Simulator 2, as 3 is actually 2, because there is no 2. Simple, right? Not really, but what is simple is that the game is finally coming to Nintendo Switch digitally later today, as confirmed during today's Nintendo Direct. An exact time hasn't been confirmed as of yet, so if you're desperate to cause havoc as a goat and other animals in a not quite sim game, you'll just need to keep your eyes peeled. For those that prefer physical releases, you'll be able to pick this one up sometime in November, though again, an exact release date wasn't confirmed. Goat Simulator 3 is already a couple of years old now, having first released back in 2022 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and iOS and Android. Why it's taken so long to release on Switch, I'm not sure, especially considering it's on mobile devices already, but hey ***, better late than never as they say. Much like its previous release, you can still headbutt, lick, and explore everything across the game's setting. There's character customisation options including lots of different clothes, and you'll be able to play it in online or couch co-op, which is always a plus. Read more View the full article
