Transformers is getting a racing adventure rogue-lite called Transformers: Galactic Trials, due out in October on PC and consoles. It’s the first ever console Transformers racing game. Transformers: Galactic Trials is published by Outright Games, which specializes in video games for kids, and developed by 3DClouds. Outright said that in this new unique hybrid gameplay experience you can play as iconic Autobot and Decepticon characters across a single-player mode, with two-player co-op in local multiplayer for the Arcade mode. Here’s the official blurb: After the evil NEMESIS PRIME steals the Prime Relics, the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS must set out on a rip-roaring adventure to recover these artifacts and control the incredible powers they bestow. Fans can play as iconic AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS, including Bumblebee, Megatron, Elita-1 and Optimus Prime and race across battle-race circuits to collect relics and beat opponents. The gameplay incorporates both traditional arcade racing in vehicle form and dynamic combat in ****-form, as players must defeat enemies and make it to the finish line. As players progress and collect new relics, they level up their skills and unlock new playable characters and skins. The single-player mode, called Galactic Trials, lets you progress through levels and collect relics. The two-player Arcade mode lets you enter a quick race, creating a custom racing experience with your track, character and weapons, or enter location-based specialized tournaments. Transformers: Galactic Trials launches on October 11, 2024, on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. It’s a busy time for Transformers, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. CG-animated film Transformers One comes out in September, and there’s a live-action Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover movie in the works. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. You can reach Wesley at [email protected] or confidentially at *****@*****.tld. Magic Knight Rayearth, a magical girl mecha hybrid series from the creators of Cardcaptor Sakura, Clamp, is getting a new anime. For the most part these days, a lot of you probably only know Clamp for Cardcaptor Sakura, the manga group's most famous manga to date, but collectively they've put out some pretty big titles over the years. One such series is Magic Knight Rayearth, a series about three young ****** that combined the magical girl and mecha genre, and threw its protagonists into another world isekai style. The series actually got an anime back in 1994, and to celebrate its 30th anniversary, a new anime project was announced earlier today. The reveal trailer for the series can be seen above, but don't expect all that much from it. There's some footage from the original anime, as well as some art from the original manga, but it's pretty much a case of "yep, there's another anime on the way, hope you're looking forward to it!" The end of the trailer did tease what the characters will look like in the new anime, showing the three protagonists standing on a cliff looking out across a fantasy world, though I imagine this is just a piece of key art rather than anything from the anime itself. There's also no word on cast or crew, I'm sorry to say. Read more View the full article

In a crossover no one saw coming, senior developers from both Zenless Zone Zero and Street Fighter 6 have recently come together for a roundtable discussion about their games, game design philosophy, and perhaps most interestingly the thought process behind how to keep players invested in each title, while maintaining depth for ********* players. You can watch the full video here, packed with over 30 minute of discussion, but the game design chatter in the first half warrants spotlighting. In it, you have Zhenyu Li (producer on Zenless Zone Zero), Shuhei Matsumoto (game producer on Street Fighter 6), and Takayuki Nakayama (game director on Street Fighter 6) sharing their thoughts and experiences of game development. "I think it's more about some of the design principles and how they collide" Li states. "Just now we were just chatting about how action games and fighting games, although they're two completely different genres, within them I can find some shared designed principles." You can unlock multiple mounts as you make your way through Final Fantasy XIV. Although they may have the same speed, the mounts show your dedication to completing content or overcoming challenges. The Mehwapyarra mount, also known as the Capybara, might be because of its appearance. The Capybara mount is one of the more adorable choices you can unlock in Dawntrail. There’s a brief moment during the Main Scenario Quests when your character has the chance to ride one, but you won’t be able to unlock it purely by completing the story. Instead, it occurs after the Dawntrail credits roll and if you’re willing to put more time into FFXIV. View the full article

Here’s how to get them fast. How to get Kuiper Shards in The First DescendantIn The First Descendant, Kuiper Shards are exclusively used to enhance your Modules. The First Descendant isn’t free of errors because the likes of “NGS e3010509” can cut your gaming experience short. More specifically, this error shows up on launch, preventing players from even accessing the game. NGS stands for Nexon Game Security, an anti-cheat software program. It can prompt errors like NGS e3010509, NGS e3010505, and other numeric combinations when it encounters anomalies. View the full article
Role quests are an important part of Final Fantasy XIV, giving you access to new content and skills to teach your character. They will work slightly differently for the Dawntrail expansion, and the way you go about unlocking them makes them easy to miss. They unlock as you make your way through the expansion; if you’re not careful, you could easily breeze past them. You need to do some work to make your way to the point in this game, and they won’t be mandatory. Instead, you can complete them after you finish the Dawntrail campaign, but you don’t want to wait forever to do them in FFXIV. View the full article

Like it or not, the ***** jiggle video game discourse just doesn’t stop. After weeks of all kinds of hot and room temperature takes about the outfits and jiggly physics of Stellar Blade’s lead character, the conversation has now shifted to… the jiggle physics in another Korean-made game. This time, the topic is The First Descendant, the free-to-play loot shooter from Nexon. The First Descendant servers went live just a couple of hours ago, and it has already become one of Steam’s biggest launches this year with an impressive (and constantly rising) player count. So far, so normal, but what if I told you that it’s not just the gear grind and ********* that brought players to the game? Read more View the full article
The new Chef’s Journey solo event in Monopoly GO starts today, replacing All You Can Win. Chef’s Journey is a short event with about 6,000 fewer dice than previous solo events, including those during Partner and Peg-E Prize Drop events that usually have less generous rewards. This event is likely a placeholder, filling the time between the Peg-E event ending today and the next special event, probably a treasure hunt. So, developer Scopely keeps it short and simple. You can check the rewards below to see which milestones are worth focusing on while you play this event. View the full article
