What to expect from Starfield PS5 launch and Free Lanes updatehttps://twitter.com/StarfieldGame/status/2040444278749471131 A huge part of April 7 is the introduction of Starfield on PS5. The launch version will include all the updates that have been added to the game since launch. There will be full PSSR support for both the PS5 and its Pro counterpart, which will target better graphics and performance simultaneously. You can also expect haptic feedback support when using the default controller. The Free Lanes update will be available across all platforms. It will aim at wholesale changes and improvements to exploration, combat, and other areas. You'll be able to find a new resource called X-Tech, which can be used to improve your equipment. The inventory management and outposts will also change as part of the update. You can also spend extra to get the Terran Armada DLC. This paid expansion will be themed around advanced robots who are about to thwart your plans. You'll need to use the Incursions system to fight against them. We will know more about all the content once the DLC becomes available, but it is guaranteed to feature new tech and companions, among other things. It will be interesting to find out if the new content could rekindle interest in the Starfield community. 7. FromSoftware's dark fantasy RPGs, Elden Ring included, tend to feature civilizations deep in decline. ******'s Souls' Boletaria has succumbed to the fog that envelopes it and an infestation of demons, Dark Souls' Lordran, Drangleic, and Lothric are each approaching the end of the Age of Fire, and Elden Ring's Lands Between are well past the prosperity that once defined the Golden Order. A newly uncovered deleted cutscene from Elden Ring shows how a sequel could shirk this setting trope to leverage some of its more interesting lore. View the full article

  9. The Division Resurgence brings four different Specializations by default for players to enjoy, and they're not equal. Similar to how they work in the PC/console version, Ubisoft has simplified how each Specialization works in the game. While we are still in the early days of the game, some Specializations are already proving to be stronger than the rest. Disclaimer: Tech class to be assessed. Table of contentsComplete The Division Resurgence Specialization tier listS-tierA-tierComplete The Division Resurgence Specialization tier list To separate the Specializations, I have opted for two tiers. There are just four of them, and they're all pretty balanced. S-tier choices are highly suitable for all players, and they're extremely strong in terms of their offered skills and abilities.A-tier choices are pretty close to S-tier choices, but they have some limitations. Image via Ubisoft S-tierVanguard: If you love using weapons of different types, this is teh best choice for you. You'll be able to increase teh damage for your own build and all your allies. You can also use the abilities to create cover around you that reduces incoming damage. The Scanning Pulse ability also allows you to scout nearby areas with your gadget. The Vanguard is by far the best Specialization in my books.Demolitionist: This class offers the best amount of explosive crowd control among all options. You can use your Explosive Seeker Mine and the Artillery Turret to clear the enemies. Finally, you've the Grenade Launcher to clear enemies when they overpower you.A-tierBulwark: The Bulwark is the default tank option that offers the best chances of survivability. The shield allows you to reflect incoming damage, while the Shockwave Spike can paralyze enemies. Finally, you can use your signature to create a full shield, along with an automatic shotgun that's great for taking down enemies at close range.Field Medic: If you're playing in a team, the Field Medic becomes S-class. After all, you get options to heal your squad and help them survive incoming attacks. However, you do lack in potential damage, and the utility of your heals reduces if you're playing solo. 13. Epidote is one of the many ores you can find in Crimson Desert, and you'll need it for several mid and end-game activities. You won't find them before reaching the Pailune and Crimson Desert regions, and both require a fair bit of in-game progression. Let's find out how to obtain Epidote in an efficient fashion. Best ways to farm Epidote in Crimson Desert The first Epidote you get in Crimson Desert will be by Count Felix's Request in Hernand. Once you're done with the quest, you'll get the ore, but there are more ways to get it. Once you unlock Pailune, you'll get the best concentration of Epidote at a single location. The same also applies to Crimson Desert, which has a fair share of ore veins in a small location. You can find the nodes towards the eastern part of Pailune, right near the river. The nodes will be located around the cliffs, and you'll need the right device to mine them. Image via Pearl Abyss This isn't the only area with Epidote locations. You can also find them in other areas, including a spot south of Hernand. You can also find Epidote from Mineral Shops. The merchants have a daily stock of Epidotes that you can buy with Silver. However, Epidotes are expensive, and you'll need a lot of Silvers to clear out the daily stock. This isn't a suitable method, but you can rely on it if you're desperate for the ore. You can find Mineral Shops near quarries in different regions. Image via Pearl Abyss Once Demeniss is unlocked, you'll come up against Hexe Earthen Troops. When you defeat these troops, they can also drop Epidotes. However, you'll be relying on your luck since these aren't guaranteed drops. However, it's a useful way to find Epidotes in case of an emergency if you don't have extra Silvers to spare. 16. The Bekker Bow is one of the best ranged weapons to unlock and use in Crimson Desert, and it can be immensely helpful in the early part of the game. While the bow does weaken in power once you get better items, it will still help you to clear large parts of the game. Let's look at how you can obtain the bow to add to your arsenal. Table of contentsHow to find the Bekker Bow in Crimson DesertCraftingBuyingHow to find the Bekker Bow in Crimson Desert Unlike most special weapons in the game, the Bekker Bow can't be obtained as loot. However, you can either purchase the weapon or craft it with the correct resources. Crafting You'll first need to get the recipe for this bow. To do so, you'll require the crafting manual named Ranged Weapons of the World - Bows, Vol. 1. Once you complete the manual, you'll now be able to craft the Bekker Bow at a Blacksmith. You'll also need the following items. 10 TimberFive Fine Timber Both Timber and its finer version are easy to find, and you should already have them in your inventory. Crafting was my go-to route when it came to obtaining the Bekker Bow. Image via Pearl Abyss Buying If you don't want to either waste your time chopping down trees or haven't unlocked the recipe, you can just buy the bow directly from the Hernand Equipment Ship. Located at the Hernand Town Center, the shop will be highlighted on your minimap. You'll have to spend 4.32 Silver to buy it outright from the shop. Despite being a beginner bow, the Bekker Bow stays viable for a really long time. Ideally, you'll want to increase its Crit Rate first of all, as that's a vital stat for any bow. With a few upgrades, you should be able to viably use the bow well into mid-game stages. The post How to get the Bekker Bow in Crimson Desert appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
  17. Huge gaming corporations are no strangers to lawsuits, no matter who they're coming from. We've got governments, individuals, other companies, and everyone in between suing each other like there's no tomorrow, and often for good reasons. However, Sony is now facing a very funny lawsuit, one started by a dance move licensed by the company to Epic Games that turned it into an official Fortnite emote. Per Complex, Darrin Henson, the creator of the famous Bye, Bye, Bye choreography featured in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie as well as Fortnite, has lodged a lawsuit against Sony Music Holdings, alleging the company licensed his property without approval. Henson filed the suit in a federal court on March 27, claiming to be the "rightful owner" of the choreography and that Sony was in no position to license it out to others without his say, Complex writes. [Hidden Content] Marvel and Sony themselves were left out of the lawsuit, as it explicitly targets Sony, despite the fact that the dance was used in a Marvel film and Epic's own Fortnite. Nevertheless, Henson alleges that others are benefitting from the dance, i.e., the actor Nick Pauley in Deadpool & Wolverine, as well as that it is now being associated with the movie instead of NSYNC's song and music video. Henson won an MTV Award for Best Choreography for the dance back in the early 2000s, when NSYNC was still active. It was first performed during a live NSYNC concert in 1999, with Sony claiming ownership over it because it also owns the music video for its related song. However, Henson says he never transferred ownership of the choreography, which predates the music video itself. He now wants the court to declare that he is the sole owner of the choreography and be granted any profits generated from its use of late, Complex writes. Choreographies can be copyrighted per the 1976 Copyright Act, but not every dance is "original" enough to be such, according to Berklee Online. It's rather dubious trying to qualify bodily movements as original or distinct enough to be considered someone's property, so I'm genuinely intrigued to see where this lawsuit will go. Either way, I find it hilarious that Fortnite dances continue their long history of litigation, following numerous unsuccessful attempts (though, to be fair, those were targeted at Epic itself). As long as you meet their requirements, they'll appear as complete in your Easter Egg scavenger hunt progress. 30-Day Egg Obtaining the scavenger hunt's 30-Day Egg requires your character to develop an addiction before going to rehab. The easiest way to do this is to head into Activities and Nightlife. Keep visiting nightclubs until an NPC asks you to try a substance for a chance to become addicted. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you develop an addiction, head into Activities, Rehab, and Rehab Centre before visiting a normal or luxurious center. Doing so will reward you with the egg. Bald Egg Your next goal is to get a Brazilian body wax to claim the Bald Egg. You can quickly do this by heading into Activities, Salon & Spa, and Waxing Salon. Brazilian wax sessions are the most expensive option, but they usually won't cost more than $100 in-game cash. ****** Widow Egg The ****** Widow Egg is one of the trickiest to obtain, as it requires you to successfully pull off a ******* attempt. You'll first need to get married, which you can easily do by heading into Activities, Love, and Date. From there, you can raise your relationship stats with your partner before proposing to them through your relationships menu. Once you get married, head into Activities, Crime, and ******* before selecting your spouse as the victim. The easiest way to get away with this is to choose poison or drive-by as your method. If you own BitLife's Assassin's Blade item, you will never get caught. Successfully getting away with the attempt will reward you with the ****** Widow Egg. Blackbeard Egg The Blackbeard Egg has a similar premise to the ****** Widow one, except it's much easier to pull off. To complete it, head into Activities, Crime, and Porch Pirate. As long as you successfully take the package without getting caught, you'll receive the egg without any issues. Blowhard Egg Next up is the Blowhard Egg, which requires you to take musical lessons with a didgeridoo. To do this, navigate to Activities, Mind & Body, and Instruments, before choosing the didgeridoo as your preferred instrument. Screenshot by Destructoid If your character is a child, they'll need to ask permission from their parents. Otherwise, any adult BitLife character can take lessons as long as they can afford them. Either way, you'll receive the egg as soon as you take your first lesson. Bolt Egg Since we're committing several crimes during this scavenger hunt, you'll have several chances to obtain the Bolt Egg. To claim this egg, you'll need to fail any crime attempt, have the police confront you, and succeed in running away from them. This can take several tries, as it's mostly luck-based. An easy way to cheese it is to try running away before closing the BitLife app if your attempt fails. From here, you can commit another crime, find the police again, then repeat the process until you succeed. Bookworm Egg Screenshot by Destructoid The Bookworm Egg is one of the easiest tasks to complete during the Easter Egg scavenger hunt. To claim it, head into Activities, Mind & Body, and Book. Reading a *********** book is the quickest way to finish it, but you can also opt for a longer title if you want a challenge or watch an ad to skip the process entirely. CatLife Egg The CatLife Egg is another basic one you can find by adopting a cat. You can do this by heading into Activities, Pets, and selecting either the cat breeder or animal shelter. If you want to save money, the shelter is the call, while the breeder lets you get a purebred kitten for more money. Regardless of your choice, you'll receive the egg once you adopt your first cat. Deviled Egg This next task is nearly identical to the ****** Widow Egg. To obtain the scavenger hunt's Deviled Egg, you'll need to make a friend through school, work, or random encounters, then eliminate them through the crime menu. Like before, you'll need to pull off the act without getting caught by the police. Family Jewel Egg Next is the Family Jewel Egg that relies partially on luck. To complete it, you'll need to acquire an heirloom by waiting for the "heirloom" bubble to appear on the game's main page. From here, you can collect it, find it in your Assets menu, and play with it. If you already have one on another character, you can swap over to them and play with the heirloom to obtain the egg right away. Flaming Egg Get ready for another easy egg. Head into Activities, Mind & Body, and Diet before selecting Hot Cheetos. If it doesn't appear right away, close and reopen the menu. You'll need some initial starting money—around $2,000 in-game cash—to start the diet. You'll receive the Flaming Egg as soon as you confirm your selection. Freshly-Hatched Egg You have a few options for obtaining the Freshly-Hatched Egg. You'll need to have a child, which you can do through natural means or by heading into Activities, Fertility, and choosing either IVF or artificial insemination. Having the Golden Pacifier will guarantee you have the child the following year, but you can also keep trying until either your character or the NPC you're attempting this with gets pregnant. Golden Egg One of the most challenging eggs to obtain is the Golden Egg. You'll need to become famous using either social media, celebrity dating, or by landing a job with a fame path. Below are some options you can use: Any Special Career pack, such as the Model, Musician, Acting, or Pro Athlete routes.ChefDJWriterApp Developer Screenshot by Destructoid You'll know you've become famous when you receive a pop-up message showing a yellow fame bar. Hoedown Egg The Hoedown Egg is the most expensive in this list. You'll need to purchase an equestrian ranch through any real estate shop by heading into Assets, Go Shopping, and picking any real estate broker. Equestrian properties are expensive, with them often ranging between $500,000 and $2 million in-game cash, depending on your character's home country and currency. Making money through fame is the easiest way to afford this, but you can also use family inheritances or high-paying jobs to work your way up to this point. Lucky Egg Our next objective for the Lucky Egg is one that is purely luck-based. Your goal is to win any amount of money at the casino, requiring your character to live in a country that legalizes gambling. From here, you can win some money by heading into Activities, Gamble, and picking whichever option you're most comfortable with. Since you don't need to accumulate a specific amount of money, you can continuously bet $1 until you win a round. Phantom Egg Another tough task for this scavenger hunt is the Phantom Egg. To obtain it, you'll need to become an exorcist before purchasing a haunted property and exorcising any ghosts within it. You can either use the Golden Resume to automatically become qualified for an exorcist role, or refresh your full-time job list until you find it. Once you land the position, buy any haunted property, head into its ghost list, and exorcise any of the spirits living in the house to claim your next egg. Rotten Egg The Rotten Egg is all about staying as happy and healthy as possible for 100 years. A surefire way to do this is to go on a Mediterranean diet, cure any and all diseases your character catches, and keep your health as high as possible. Shawshank Egg Screenshot by Destructoid If your character failed their previous two ******* attempts for the ****** Widow and Deviled eggs, odds are, they landed in a supermax prison. Fortunately, if you break out of this prison, you can receive the Shawshank Egg. Otherwise, the best way to claim this egg is to commit ******* and either manually solve the puzzle or watch an ad to wear a guard outfit and walk out. Thicc Egg The next egg on our list is the Thicc Egg, which you acquire from collaborating with someone on OF. First, you'll need to make an account by aging up your character until they turn 18 before heading into Assets and Social Media. You'll then find it as an option. Once you create an account, have your character regularly make posts until you receive a random age-up encounter to collaborate with another creator. XXX Egg The final egg of the scavenger hunt requires your BitLife character to become an adult film star. The best way to do this is to have a character with high looks stats—80 percent or higher is your best bet—before applying for any full-time job related to this career path. From here, you can work toward landing an acting role so you can claim the XXX Egg. Once you finish all 20 objectives, you’ll complete the final task of BitLife’s Easter Egg scavenger hunt, rewarding you with a cosmetic prize to use during future playthroughs. 21. Continuing down a path of constant improvements to its platform, Valve is apparently going to allow you to see expected frames per second in games before you buy them on Steam. According to dataminers, this feature is already being developed and could ship to the platform's beta or main branches soon. As Lambda Generation writes, Steam is going to get a new feature letting users see how well a game will perform on their machine before buying it based on other users' data. The feature was discovered on SteamDB, a site tracking most changes that happen behind the scenes on Valve's storefront, including the store itself, not only the games it hosts. The code shared by Lambda Generation suggests this feature will be manual, allowing you to input different configurations to get results. Furthermore, it seems it'll allow you to "save" your configuration and quickly calculate how many FPS are to be expected in any given game. "Select an App and a PC config to get a chart of estimated framerates, based on the framerates of other Steam users," the code reads. [Hidden Content] It's a simple yet incredibly useful feature that will go hand-in-hand with Steam's already-implemented hardware attachments, which let users put their PC specs into reviews to make them more transparent. Players often complain of technical issues experienced in Steam games, leaving negative reviews and thus tanking ratings, while never actually proving that they, indeed, have a strong PC. Now, not only will players be able to share their specs, they'll be able to gauge the game's performance without ever purchasing it, potentially reducing the number of negative reviews related to technical problems. However, it could also exacerbate the problem as players are given great expectations that turn out not to be true once they do purchase and play the game, making them angry both with the developers and Valve itself. We'll see how exactly it'll be implemented, but since it uses data from existing users, I'm inclined to think it'll be quite accurate in gauging the average player's framerate using the same specs, since it'll also take into account any existing framerate-related problems the game has.
