The Game Awards don't start for another half hour, but video game announcements are still finding a way to sneak in anyway. Compulsion Games just revealed that South of Midnight is coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in spring of 2026. This comes from a pair of tweets/X posts from the official Compulsion Games account, announcing each platform release respectively. Every creature holds a secret in the mythical Deep South - South of Midnight launches on PlayStation 5 in Spring 2026.@PlayStation @PlayStationCA @PlayStationUK @PlayStationEU @PlayStationFR #ps5 #ps5pro #southofmidnight [Hidden Content] — Compulsion Games (@CompulsionGames) December 11, 2025 Every creature holds a secret in the mythical Deep South - South of Midnight launches on Switch 2 in Spring 2026.@NintendoAmerica @NintendoCanada @NintendoUK @NintendoFrance #Switch2 #NintendoSwitch2 #Southofmidnight [Hidden Content] — Compulsion Games (@CompulsionGames) December 11, 2025 Depending on what the final release date ends up being, this will likely time out to be roughly one year from South of Midnight's initial release, which was on April 8, 2025 of this year. This puts South of Midnight in good company with a number of other Xbox Game Studios games that have gone onto rival platforms, including Pentiment, Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake. A remake of the original Halo was announced earlier this year for both Xbox and PlayStation. South of Midnight might have flown under the radar for some, but it's worth checking out. Our reviewer gave it an 8/10, saying it's "a straightforward but well-executed action-adventure game elevated by the artistry and heart of the American Southern culture that’s wrapped around it." Roguelite FPS Deadzone: Rogue just got a release date for its newest free DLC, Zone 4 - Apophis. It will add new missions and story to the game, along with new enemies and encounters, more weapons, as well as adding extra systems, elements, perks, and augments. The Zone 4: Apophis Content Update for Deadzone: Rogue is launching on December 17, and as an added bonus that date also marks the start of a free-to-play access ******* if you haven't had a chance to jump in yet. Deadzone: Rogue was officially released in August this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and is currently rocking a Very Positive ranking on Steam. You can play solo or with co-op team of up to 3 players, and puts you on board the colony ship ISS-X, which is unfortunately also home to facing murderous robots and mutants. Ain't that always the way? It's the work of indie studio Prophecy Games, which was original part of the Hi-Rez Studios group but went solo in 2020. It's other game is Tribes 3: Rivals, a team-based first person shooter. Rachel Weber is the Senior Editorial Director of Games at IGN and an elder millennial. Long-time World of Warcraft players have been waiting 21 years for the new in-game housing features that Blizzard officially announced last year and which launched in early access last week. Shortly after that launch, though, players quickly discovered a way to make their houses float high above the ground by exploiting an unintended, invisible UI glitch. Now, Blizzard says that the overwhelming response to that accidental house hovering has been so strong that it’s pivoting to integrate it as an official part of the game. “We were going to fix flying houses to bring them back to terra firma, but you all made such awesome stuff, so we made it possible with the base UI instead.” WoW principal designer Jesse Kurlancheek posted on social media Tuesday. Lead producer Kyle Hartline followed up on that announcement with some behind-the-scenes gossip: “Like no joke we had an ops channel about how to roll out the float fix but folks shared like 5 of the dopest houses and we all kinda immediately agreed this was way too cool to change,” he wrote. Embark Studios' Swedish modesty is the first thing you notice when you enter the ARC Raiders store. No flashy banners, no timers, no extravagant marketing: click here to see new arrivals or here for bestsellers. The merch itself is not over-the-top either: a bunch of T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies, seven in total, with the recognizable four-colored ARC printed on them. Prices start at $31 USD and go up to $70. There is also a stylish, branded cap that's supposed to hit shelves this January. But that's not all. The shop has one non-apparel item, which I'm dying to add to my collection. View the full article

The Witcher 3 is over 10 years old, and one of CDPR's finest games (perhaps even the best game of all time). Now, it seems it's getting a DLC, which is to be announced at today's The Game Awards show, or so claims Borys Nieśpielak, a Polish leaker familiar with CDPR. Nieśpielak first made claims of an impending The Witcher 3 DLC back during the summer, though nothing came of it throughout the rest of the year. Now, he is certain the DLC is in the works and that The Game Awards are the perfect place to announce it. "I bet this is the best time to announce this DLC," Nieśpielak said during the Dec. 11 episode of the Rock i Borys Podcast. "I would be surprised if it wasn't announced now," he added. Nieśpielak went on to say that this is no longer just speculation on his part, but that it's been "confirmed... with several other sources... with one of the biggest [sources], so to speak." "This is a sure thing, this DLC for The Witcher 3," he said. [Hidden Content] The Witcher 3 released all the way back in 2015, over ten years ago. It got two expansion packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, as well as over a dozen free smaller DLC, such as a new mission, items, and so on. It would be unprecedented for a company to revisit its decade-old title and release a new DLC, though Gearbox did do something similar for Borderlands 2 to tie it in with the release of Borderlands 3. My assumption is that this will be a free, small-scale DLC that ties The Witcher 3 in with The Witcher 4, probably explaining (at least in some capacity) what drove Ciri to take the mutations and become a fully-fledged witcher, given that she already has tremendous power stemming from her heritage as a Child of the Elder Blood. It'd be interesting and revitalize The Witcher 3, which nevertheless remains alive and healthy and still enjoyed by countless players. The post The Witcher 3 is a decade old, but it’s apparently getting a new DLC, according to leaks appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
