Though Ubisoft recently confirmed that Assassin's Creed ****** Flag Resynced was in the works, we have yet to see it in action. New leaks suggest that it is to surface rather soon: Next week. According to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson and ResetEra leaker BlackBate, Assassin's Creed ****** Flag Resynced is to get a worldwide reveal on April 16, finally allowing us to see what Ubisoft has been working on all this time. Even if it is not revealed by this date, Henderson reports that the game is still on track to release by mid-2027, sometime during the second quarter. AC ****** Flag Resynced could help Ubisoft claw back some of its stock value. Image via Ubisoft Recent developments at Ubisoft could mean a delay, though, so it is not absolutely certain that this date will be respected. Nevertheless, it remains a substantial project for the company that could see it turn the tide, as it has been on a downward spiral in stock for quite some time now. ****** Flag remains one of the most well-received AC games of all time, especially as a cult title, even though it divorced itself from many recognizable "assassin" character antics in favor of setting the West Indies ablaze. By doing away with its archaic, outright boring mechanics like trailing missions, Ubisoft could very well refine the title into a proper masterpiece. A lot stands to be lost, too, if Ubisoft ditches its traditional design and transforms the game into an RPG. We will know for sure once Ubisoft reveals the remake and actually shows us what it's been cooking for so long, and as things stand, that will happen on April 16. Hopefully. Listen, not everything goes according to plan. Sometimes, life gives you lemons, and sometimes, your elevator platforms just won’t connect in Pokopia. Okay, maybe that last one is a niche issue. But if you’re reading this, you’re probably struggling with it. It's quite frustrating when you build an elevator in Pokopia and go to test it out only to get a pop-up box saying “you need to connect it to another elevator platform.” Luckily, there’s an easy fix, though the game doesn’t make it clear. Table of contentsHow to build an elevator in Pokopia“You need to connect it to another elevator platform” fixHow to build an elevator in Pokopia An incredibly useful, albeit finnicky, device. Screenshot by Destructoid Pokopia teaches you how to build an elevator as part of its main quest in Sparkling Skylands, and it’s relatively straightforward: place two elevator platforms and connect them with ladders. You'll automatically unlock the recipe for the item, which is as follows: 8 Glass8 Concrete2 Tinkagear The game will make it easy when you build your first elevator as part of the main quest; it already has most of the ladder built with the two floors in place. All you need to do is add a couple extra ladders, plop down the platforms, and you’re good to go. Unfortunately, this makes it easy to accidentally mess up the next elevator you create. “You need to connect it to another elevator platform” fix If you’ve built an elevator on your own, you might’ve run into an issue where you can’t get on your elevator and you get a dialogue box saying “you need to connect it to another elevator platform.” It won’t make sense in the moment, especially if you’ve placed two elevator platforms and already connected them with a ladder. But if you get this pop-up, chances are there’s something blocking your elevator’s path. The dreaded pop-up error. Screenshot by Destructoid The shaft of the elevator needs to be completely clear, or else the platforms won’t connect properly. That means you can’t place a platform on a ledge with only an opening around the ladder; the entire floor beneath the platform needs to be cleared. This was the issue I ran into when building my first elevator independent from the main quest line. Even though I had cleared around the platform, I had a few blocks placed in my elevator’s pathway, as you can see in the images below. Once I removed those blocks, the elevator lights flipped on and I could then enter the device. Make sure the elevator's path is clear. Screenshot by Destructoid Clear any obstructions to get your elevator working. Screenshot by Destructoid So if you’re getting the pop-up error, try double-checking your elevator’s path and make sure it’s completely clear. For as much as I love Escape From Tarkov in theory, the risk of other players with far more hours than me halting an entire night's progress in its tracks can be off-putting. I've therefore been watching Road to Vostok with great interest, admiring the ways it condenses that knife-edge fight for survival into a single-player FPS game. Gathering loot and planning your way through its realistic day-night cycle, everything builds to the climactic moment where you take your steps into the eponymous restricted zone, risking everything you've earned for the most valuable prizes. Dungeons and Dragons' new playtest Druid fulfills a very specific fantasy. Step one: turn into a giant, legally distinct Kaiju. You can't really go wrong with creature collecting. Give me a colorful world with cute critters to capture and pit against one another and my wallet is yours. The highly competitive nature of Marathon means fair play is at the top of Bungie's priority list. In the wake of fresh public outcry around cheating and toxicity, the developer has responded with the promise of continued investment in its cheat detection methods, reporting tools, and more long-term features to deal with both cheaters and negative behavior in the sci-fi extraction shooter. It's also just deployed a new Marathon update targeting the potency of its Bubble Shield, and reducing the effectiveness of knife combat. Read the rest of the story... Back in February, Valve gave Steam client beta users the option to share anonymized framerate data and hardware information with the company to "help us learn about game compatibility and improve Steam." Now, new text buried in a recent Steam client update suggests Valve is preparing to use this data to power a "framerate estimator" tool in the future. As noted in SteamTracking's automated Steam client change notes (and picked up by some forum and social media users), the April 3 Steam client update contains explicit references to a "Framerate Estimator" in a store UI JSON file. A subheader listed in that file describes the ability to "Select an App and a PC config to get a chart of estimated framerates, based on the framerates of other Steam users." Based on the inputs referenced in the JSON data, it looks like generated framerate estimates will be based on CPU, GPU, and system RAM levels selected by the user (or saved as a hardware configuration in the Steam client) rather than any sort of automated system scanning software. Users will be able to see per-game frame rate estimates as well as the "Number of matching training... entries" those estimates are based on for that game and/or the applicable CPU/GPU. Heads-up, PC players: Steam codes for ARC Raiders are on ***** at Fanatical for $26.79. That’s a 33% discount from the typical $39.99 price. The beloved extraction shooter was a breakout hit late last year, earning a 9/10 in our review. The ***** ends tomorrow (assuming codes don’t sell out), so grab it sooner than later if you want it. ARC Raiders on ***** Until ARC Raiders came out, I’d been intrigued by the idea of the extraction shooter, but was hesitant to try one out. They seemed more cutthroat and high-stakes than I was looking for in a game. I didn’t want to lose my entire loadout if I died. I didn’t want to get blasted to bits by other players, as I’d heard happened all the time in these dog-eat-dog worlds. But when our review of ARC Raiders came out, it made it sound more approachable than any extraction shooter that came before it. “ARC Raiders raises the bar for extraction shooters pretty much across the board,” critic Travis Northup wrote, “with an incredibly gripping progression grind, tense fights against NPCs and other players that make for memorable matches, and loot that feels completely worth all the work and stress it takes to obtain it.” I also saw that it ran well on Steam Deck, my main gaming platform. So I picked it up and gave it a try. Turns out, ARC Raiders was just the game I needed to show me what all the fuss is about with extraction shooters. ARC Raiders is a relatively approachable game that eases you into its various systems. The basic idea is that you go topside into a level, run around gathering up loot, fight (or avoid) PvE enemies, and occasionally get into gun battles with other players. Then you make your way to an extraction site and try to get out with both your life and your loot. The gameplay loop has drama and tension built into it, because the more good loot you find, the more you want to make it out safely. With my inventory full at the end of a run, I'm antsy in the best way as I call for the extraction elevator and it sounds an alarm, alerting others in the area of my location, ratcheting up the tension. With all that loot you find, you can craft all sorts of items, from guns to bandages, so nothing really goes to waste. You’re always trying to find specific items, which let you unlock or upgrade various crafting benches. You can even upgrade Scrappy, a rooster who gathers materials for you while you’re playing rounds. Even if you do wipe – which is bound to happen from time to time – not all is lost, because you have various quests that give you other goals to achieve on any given run. And if you find yourself ready to go topside but you don't have any good gear, you can choose a free loadout that gives you the basics. Eventually, I let go of my anxiety about losing gear and began to achieve a zen state about the whole enterprise. Even when I lose a gun I worked hard to attain, it’s really not that big of a deal. The whole point of accruing the weapons is to use them when you go topside. They don’t do any good sitting in your inventory. So gear up, raider. And give this game a try if you’re at all curious. Now if only Bungie would make Marathon work on Steam Deck... Chris Reed is a commerce editor and deals expert for IGN. He also runs IGN's board game and LEGO coverage. You can follow him on Bluesky. The Free Lanes update has added several new features in Starfield, and one of it includes the ability to add Muria Siarkiewicz as an elite crew member. To do so, you'll first need to find her at the correct location. This guide will help you to complete all the tasks required for you to add her to your party. How to recruit Muria Siarkiewicz as a crew member in Starfield First, you'll need to open your Starmap and navigate to Alpha Centauri. You'll need to specifically reach Jemison, which is one of many planets in the system. There will be several options on the planet screen; select The Lodge, and then pick Talk with Sergeant Yumi (Commercial District). Image via Bethesda Go to GalBank from where you land and head inside. You'll find a woman sitting inside, and this is Muria. Once you start your discussions with her, she will give you a quick update about her situation and what she wants. She will inform that she's here looking for a job. At this point, you'll get the option to tell her to forget GalBank and work for you. Image via Bethesda Once you make the offer, wait for some time for her to make up her mind. I am unsure what the exact amount of time you'll need to wait is. When she is ready, she will be interested in accepting your offer. However, she will inform you about her financial situation, and you'll need to pay 15,000 credits upfront to add her as a crew. She will be able to join your adventure once the payment is made. Once done, you'll now be able to assign her to your ship. She can then be found on the ship, and you can use her for different tasks. While Muria is tied with the Free Lanes update, she also has a role to play in the Terran Armada DLC.
