It's official, Total War: Warhammer 40k is real, and at some point in the next few years, we'll be dropping into the Imperium of Man to fight and conquer our way across the stars. This has been an absolutely massive year for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a game that barely anyone had even heard of at the start of 2025 that went on to break records at The Game Awards for most wins ever and taking home the prestigious Game of the Year award. It's hard to believe just how far Sandfall Interactive has come in such a short time, and they've given players a massive thank you gift to celebrate the game's success. View the full article
The breakout success of Arc Raiders proves that there's plenty of room for the 'will they, won't they (betray me)' style of multiplayer action it brings to the table. Enginefall is the next offering to play on this format, and I'm already captivated by its design, which transports the action onto giant, moving trains, and feels a little more closely woven in with survival games like Rust and Ark. Developer Red Rover Interactive has just kicked off its latest playtest, which solves my one real question mark with its first showing, and you can apply to join on Steam right now. Vinquibus is a brand new type of weapon added to Warframe as part of The Old Peace update, and you can yield massive damage with the correct build. Vinquibus is the signature weapon for Uriel, who himself is the newest frame in Warframe. Unlike other weapons inside the game, Vinquibus serves two different roles at the same time. Naturally, it requires a fair bit of tweaking to get the best out of its in-game prowess. Table of contentsVinquibus characteristics in WarframeBest Vinquibus primary weapon buildVinquibus characteristics in Warframe As mentioned earlier, Vinquibus is a hybrid weapon. Once you equip it, the Vinquibus will occupy both the melee and the primary weapon slots. Interestingly, the melee and rifle versions have different mods that allow you to carry two builds simultaneously. Here are some of the key pointers to keep in mind when using the Vinquibus. Headshots grant two stacks of precision buff that increase the melee damage by 250% and stack up to 16 times. The regular attacks have high crit chance, crit chance multiplier, and strong total damage.Killing an enemy will add four stacks of Vinquibus Ferocity buff. This raises the Ammo Efficiency by 100% and stacks up to 16 times. The melee attacks, just like the ranged option, offer high crit chance and high damage. Hence, the Vinquibus is typically a weapon that does well when you use it as a combo of both primary and melee. The following build will help you make the most of this excellent weapon. While the melee section of the build is yet to be finalized, I have already mentioned the prefered mods and Arcana that you'll want to use in the Primary slots. Screenshot by Destructoid Best Vinquibus primary weapon build The following build will help you make the most of of primary version of the Vinquibus. I have listed all the prefered mods required for this build. To make it optimum, you'll need to use at least five Formas, or use mods that aren't max-ranked. Prime Bane is based on the enemies that you're going to face. This isn't entirely required, but doing so will allow you to clear missions/farms quicker. However, you'll need to be aware of the enemies that you're going to face.Galvanized Aptitute: When maxed, it applies +80% status chance, and applies +40% Direct Damage per status type on the target for 20 seconds. Stacks can be applied for maximum of two times.Primary Acuity: +350% Weak Point Damage and +350% Weak Point Critical Chance work well when the Vinquibus exploits the enemy's weak points.Critical Delay: While it will reduce the fire rate, the +200% Critical Chance raises the potential of increasing the damage from every shot of the Vinquibus. For the Arcane, the best choice is Primary Deadhead. This Arcane causes +120% Damage for 24 seconds and +30% to Headshot Multiplier upon a Headshot kill. The Arcane, at max rank, also reduces the weapon recoil by 50%. It's the perfect choice to enhance the precision-firing offered by the Vinquibus. Once again, I will be adding the melee loadout as quickly as possible, which will allow you to make the most of the Vinquibus in Warframe. To successfully complete many Star Pasth event duties, you need to find and gather all kinds of specific items in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One gathering duty you'll encounter asks you to harvest a key chocolate ingredient. This vague clue is all you're given to work with, and there are loads of different ingredients you can find around the main valley and DLC worlds, making it a tricky one to solve. If this event quest has you stumped, here's how to harvest a key chocolate ingredient in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsWhat is a key chocolate ingredient in Disney Dreamlight Valley?Harvest a key chocolate ingredient in Disney Dreamlight ValleyWhat is a key chocolate ingredient in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Screenshot by Destructoid A key chocolate ingredient in DDV is Cocoa Beans. You can find them growing on Cacao Trees, of which there are six around your valley. Initially, two of these trees start off in the Glade of Trust, while the other four can be found in the Sunlit Plateau. Like all fruit trees and bushes, though, they can be freely moved around, so you likely relocated them. If you're not sure where you put them, open the Collection page, select the Ingredients tab, and locate Cocoa Beans. Hover over them to have the biome or biomes your Cacoa Trees are in displayed near the bottom left corner. Each Cacao Tree can be harvested to claim three Cocoa Beans. It then takes 30 minutes for more to grow. Cocoa Beans cannot be planted and grown from seeds and are instead a tree excsuvie crop that can only be obtained from these specific plants. Before you start harvesting this crop, be sure to ask a foraging specialist villager to hang out with you, as well as two foraging Companions. Having all three at your side will grant you multiple chances of obtaining extra Cocoa Beans. Any extra that is found by your allies won't count for the Star Path task, but since you're harvesting either way, it's still worth trying to use these bonuses so you can get extra to store, sell, cook with, or otherwise use. Harvest a key chocolate ingredient in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid To complete the harvest a key chocolate ingredient duty, you need to harvest a total of 15 Cocoa Beans. Since you have six Cacao Trees with three that can be grabbed from each tree, you can complete this quest in one go, as there's more than enough to harvest available right away. Finishing this task gets you 10 Tokens to spend in the event. It's not much, so you'll likely want to tackle some additional event tasks to earn enough Tokens to buy the better prizes. If so, some good ones to work on are cooking a fairly fancy dinner, digging for special crystals underground, harvesting some red bush berries, and selling snowman building material. 165 workers at id Software, the studio behind the Doom and Quake franchises, have elected to unionize with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) in yet another wall-to-wall developer union within Microsoft. The new union encompasses developers, artists, programmers, and other disciplines, and has been formally recognized by Microsoft in accordance with its pledge to remain "neutral" with regard to unions within its ranks and voluntarily recognize any that emerge. Union members suggest issues of concern for the group include the instability of the games industry writ large, as well as the necessity of remote work. “I’m very proud to be a part of this effort to organize our studio, to have a voice in decisions that directly affect myself and my coworkers,” said senior VFX artist and organizing committee member Caroline Pierrot. “In an industry that has proven to be very unstable over the last few years, more unions means more power to the workers and a real shot at shaping the future of the industry for the better." Microsoft has seen a cascade of new unions formed at its game studios in recent years, a large number of which have been under its most recent acquisition, Activision Blizzard. Diablo developers unionized this past August, as did Blizzard's story and franchise development team, the entire World of Warcraft team unionized last year, and the Overwatch developers followed in May of this year. Meanwhile, Raven Software workers won their first contract earlier this year, Zenimax QA workers won a contract in May, and Bethesda's union is still in active negotiations. Now that you've gotten to know her better, Cinderella's got yet another friendship mission for you to tackle in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Your next quest from her is A Dream Come True, and there's a lot to get done in this one. Friendship missions are always fairly large tasks, so it's likely you may find yourself stuck on certain steps. If this is the case, here's a complete walkthrough for the A Dream Come True quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsHow to complete A Dream Come True in Disney Dreamlight ValleyMeet the Fairy Godmother in her HousePick up the Instant Photos in the Fairy Godmother's HouseGather Gold Nuggets for buttons with MushuGather flowers with Mickey for dyeGather gems with Aladdin for sparkleShow Cinderella the Mysterious Fabric Scrap and White ButtonsCraft the Coat of CompanionshipTake a picture with Cinderella in your Coat of CompanionshipHow to complete A Dream Come True in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid To complete the A Dream Come True quest for Cinderella, you need to gather lots of materials with various valley villagers and craft a special new coat. There's plenty to get done, so here's a full breakdown of all key steps. Meet the Fairy Godmother in her House To start, head over to the Fairy Godmother's pumpkin house, wherever you have it placed in the valley. Head inside and interact with Fairy Godmother to chat and get things moving in this mission. Pick up the Instant Photos in the Fairy Godmother's House After chatting with Fairy Godmother, you need to grab some Instant Photos from her home. Walk over to the spot between the blue chair and the blue planter to find them sparkling on the ground. Pick them up, then chat with Fairy Godmother about what you found. The mission is now on the move, so head over to Cinderella's castle home, wherever you chose to set it up in the valley. Once you're inside, chat with Fairy Godmother again to progress the task. Gather Gold Nuggets for buttons with Mushu Screenshot by Destructoid For the next portion of this quest, you'll need to embark on various scavenger hunts with specific villagers. First up is searching for Gold Nuggets with Mushu. Exit Cinderella's castle, and Mushu will automatically join you so you can begin the hunt. Gold Nuggets can be acquired by mining rock spots in specific areas around the valley. You have a chance of finding them while mining in the Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and Forgotten Lands biomes in the main valley, as well as the secret Vitalys Mine area tucked behind the waterfall in Sunlit Plateau. It can also drop from rock nodes anywhere in Mythopia in Storybook Vale. Gather flowers with Mickey for dye Next up, you need to gather some flowers with Mickey so you can make dye. The flowers you need to find around the valley are: Six White Impatiens – Can be found growing in the wild around the Forgotten Lands biome. May also sometimes be available to collect from The Beast's Flower Stall. Four White Passion Lily – Grows in the wild around the Frosted Heights biome. Sometimes, it may also be available to gather from The Beast's Flower Stall. Screenshot by Destructoid Gather gems with Aladdin for sparkle Your third and final scavenger hunt in this quest is gathering gems with Aladdin. Together, you must work to find: Two Amethyst – Can be mined from around the Frosted Heights and Forgotten Lands biomes. Two Aquamarine – Can be mined from rock nodes around Dazzle Beach and Forest of Valor. Two Diamond – Can be mined from around Forgotten Lands. Two Emerald – Can be mined from rock nodes around Forest of Valor and Glade of Trust. Show Cinderella the Mysterious Fabric Scrap and White Buttons With all of the scavenger hunts now complete, it's time to meet up with Cinderella to share your progress. Before you do, you'll need to make sure you have both the Mysterious Fabric Scrap and the White Buttons in your inventory, which are the items you got from her previous two friendship quests, including Cinderella’s Custom Creation and Critter Chaos. Screenshot by Destructoid Craft the Coat of Companionship Now that you have all of the required materials, it's time to craft the Coat of Championship. Head to any crafting station around the valley and switch over to the Functional Items category to make it. Equip it on your character once it's made, then meet up with Cinderella. Take a picture with Cinderella in your Coat of Companionship Grab your phone from the Royal Tool wheel and snap a picture with Cinderella while you're wearing the Coat of Championship. Then, chat with Cinderella one last time to officially complete the A Dream Come True quest. The post A Dream Come True quest walkthrough in Disney Dreamlight Valley appeared first on Destructoid. Clearly, all is not well in the world of Call of Duty. ****** Ops 7 appears to have struggled for players and sales relatively speaking amid tough competition from the likes of EA’s Battlefield 6 and Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders, and coming out just a year after ****** Ops 6. Microsoft is yet to announce a player count or a sales figure for ****** Ops 7, nor has it detailed any boost to Game Pass subscriber numbers as a result of its launch. Clearly, it hasn’t met its expectations. Last month, sales data suggested ****** Ops 7 was struggling not just against rival shooter Battlefield 6, but also last year’s ****** Ops 6. The Game Business reported that ****** Ops 7’s European launch saw opening week sales down 63% versus Battlefield 6 during the equivalent launch periods for each shooter, and ****** Ops 7 also down by more than 50% versus ****** Ops 6. All in all, ****** Ops 7 had a “terrible” launch, The Game Business’ chief Chris Dring said in a post on social media. Then, in a shock development, Activision promised never to release ****** Ops or Modern Warfare games back to back again. In a statement attributed to "the Call of Duty team" (Treyarch, Sledgehammer, Infinity Ward, Raven Software and co.), Activision admitted “that for some of you, the franchise has not met your expectations fully. To be very clear, we know what you expect and rest assured we will deliver, and overdeliver, on those expectations as we move forward.” Activision continued: “We will no longer do back-to-back releases of Modern Warfare or ****** Ops games. The reasons are many, but the main one is to ensure we provide an absolutely unique experience each and every year. We will drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental. While we aren’t sharing those plans today, we look forward to doing so when the time is right.” Fast forward to this week, and Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty has painted a slightly rosier picture. When asked about ****** Ops 7's performance by Variety, Booty responded to confirm that it's one of the most-played games on Xbox right now, and that he was proud of what the development team was able to achieve. He then said Call of Duty is “its own unique category” because of Activision’s ability to release content via a seasonal model, so the launch isn’t the end of ****** Ops 7’s story. Here’s the quote in full: “Right now, it is one of the most-played games on Xbox. And I’m really proud of what the team did, in terms of feature innovation, moving the franchise forward. Shipping a major franchise like clockwork every year is a really difficult task, and I’m really proud of what the team did to move the franchise forward in that way. “And the interesting thing about Call of Duty is, I think that as an IP, it is really well positioned to continue to deliver content for players going forward; the system of seasons. And it’s not just about the launch, but it’s kind of in its own unique category and ability in terms of how the team keeps delivering content throughout the year. So we’re real happy with where we’ve landed with that.” Amid the doom and gloom, Microsoft has said Call of Duty (overall) ended 2025 as the number one franchise on Game Pass for total players and hours all year, which perhaps doesn’t come as much of a surprise given this is Call of Duty we’re talking about. But it does show that even when Call of Duty has a bad year relative to previous games in the series, it's still massively popular relative to other games. Call of Duty is now at something of a crossroads. 2026’s Call of Duty game is almost certainly a continuation of Modern Warfare from Infinity Ward, but what will 2027 bring? ****** Ops 8? Activision’s failure to establish a third Call of Duty sub-brand means that it has become overly reliant on Modern Warfare and ****** Ops to keep the franchise going at the player numbers executives demand. Could Microsoft take the drastic step of giving Call of Duty a year off to recover from its recent struggles? Given Microsoft paid $69 billion for Activision Blizzard, it seems unlikely. As for ****** Ops 7 in the here and now, Activision has promised "unprecedented season support," saying it "won't rest until ****** Ops 7 earns its place as one of the best ****** Ops games we’ve ever made."
