  2. Nintendo has finally released an official list of games incompatible with Nintendo Switch 2 after initially revealing in the first reveal Nintendo Direct that not all Switch 1 games are usable on the system, and there are actually some big surprises on the list we were not expecting. On the Nintendo website, Nintendo goes into the full list of incompatible games on Switch 2 coming from Switch 1, as well as games that have some compatibility issues with the new system, and while they might start, they won't be able to be played fully. [Hidden Content] The full list of games and software that can't be played on Switch 2 includes: Nintendo Labo Toy-**** 04: VR KitThe Nintendo Switch 2 console cannot be inserted into the Toy-**** VR Goggles accessory, so this game cannot be played.NicoNicoABEMAHuluCrunchyrollInkyPen Equally, Nintendo has listed a slew of games that require Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons to be played on Nintendo Switch 2. You can connect the old Joy **** controllers to Switch 2 wirelessly, even if they can't connect to the sides of the console. The list of games that require this method to work on Switch 2 includes: Ring Fit Adventure1-2 SwitchEverybody 1-2 SwitchGame Builder GarageNintendo Switch SportsWarioWare Move It!Nintendo Labo Toy-**** 1, 2 and 3 Some of the above games are shocking additions, but there are also a lot that aren't really that surprising. WarioWare not being usable on Switch 2 is wild for me without using the old Joy-Cons. Is there really that much of a difference? Outside of Nintendo's own lineup, there are hundreds of partner games that are still having issues with Switch 2 ahead of launch. Most of these issues are being addressed or looked into, and there's a full list of the games having these issues on the Nintendo website. There are some big names on the list, too, like Mega Man, Just Dance, and other huge IPs. So it's worth checking it all out. 3. Grand Theft Auto 6, you are so close, yet so far away. 364 days as of today, exactly. And so that means there's a lot of gaming time to fill between now and then. If you're a fan of games like GTA, and who isn't, then we may have a sleeper hit on our hands coming out in just a few weeks. The game is called MindsEye, and it's from the new studio founded by former Rockstar Games president and GTA 5 producer Leslie Benzies. Image via Build A Rocket Boy In a new video released today by the game's dev studio, Build a Rocket Boy, the game lays it all out to explain exactly what it is: a third-person, open-world action game in the same vein as GTA and Red Dead Redemption, but with a near-future twist. MindsEye is set in a fictional desert city named Redrock, and it features just about everything you'd expect from a game like GTA. There's lots of driving and shooting action as you play as a character named Jacob, "in a world where AI, hi-tech experimentation and unchecked military power shapes every encounter." Doesn't sound too far from the truth nowadays. As part of today's new trailer, MindsEye's 2025 roadmap was unveiled, teasing lots of upcoming content updates and different game modes like a Horde mode, car races, combat missions, drone races, and more, with future plans for collabs, new missions, and even multiplayer some time in the fall. I could see this game performing very well with gamers looking to scratch their GTA itch while waiting for GTA 6, and it's one I've had my eye on for a while. I'm hoping for the best for it, and it's one I will continue to watch and play while dreaming of a new, popular game that evokes the feelings of GTA and GTA Online. At the same time, it could also fall flat on its face trying to do what Rockstar Games is best at, without forming its own identity. Time will tell, and it's only a few short weeks away from launching, so it's a title that gamers may need to keep on their radar. Image via Build A Rocket Boy MindsEye launches on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on June 10. 4. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has hit another impressive milestone: 3.3 million sales in 33 days. That’s a lot of threes! Publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Sandfall Interactive announced the sales today, after the turn-based RPG crossed 1 million sales in its first three days of release. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on April 24 across PC and console, but also straight into Xbox Game Pass as a day-one title. It also launched up against Bethesda’s RPG behemoth The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. But despite being in a subscription service and having that tough competition, Clair Obscur has carved out a significant slice of sales success for itself. It’s worth noting the 3.3 million sales figure does not include additional downloads through Xbox and PC Game Pass. Kepler declared Clair Obscur “a commercial success” and “a feat for an independent production.” “The game was developed by a small studio made up of around 30 core team members, some of whom were working on a video game project for the very first time,” Kepler added. When Bethesda shadow-dropped The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered amid the launch of fellow role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, most thought there could be only one winner. However, it turned out that there was plenty of room for both games to succeed. Indeed, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has done so well that French President Macron has praised the development team. Be sure to check out our tips for the important things to know before heading into the game. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. 5. You may remember that in January of 2022, A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-pooh stories entered the public domain, inspiring deeply crap ideas like "what if *********** character but knives?" in the case of Blood And Honey , and "what if *********** character but mildly naughty word?", in the case of smirking billboardian human doppelganger Ryan Reynolds. Videogames were not immune. "What if *********** character but Cronenbergian body horror?" asked the developers of Winnie's Hole when they announced a roguelike dungeon crawler based on the bear in 2023, and there's now a Steam demo available, should you wish to scoop up honey with arms-where-no-arms-should-rightly-be. 9. The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 director offered a piece of advice for developers in a recent interview, stating that “you have to make a game that you will like.” Although this is fairly well-known advice in any artistic medium, the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 director also touched upon authenticity and teamwork as things that stem from being true to one’s vision—and how this ultimately impacted the game’s success. 12. Paizo, a publisher best known for its Pathfinder tabletop RPG, revealed a quirky new board game at this year's PaizoCon. 15. MindsEye developer Build A Rocket Boy has released a new trailer for the game, confirmed its $59.99 price tag, and revealed exactly what players can expect from launch in terms of content. Build A Rocket Boy, led by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, confirmed a June 10, 2025 release date for MindsEye for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Here’s the official blurb: Set in the near-futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye delivers a tightly crafted linear story campaign. Players will step into the shoes of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier haunted by fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant, as he uncovers a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, an unchecked military, and a threat so sinister that it endangers the very survival of humanity. The game’s story is brought to life with state-of-the-art visuals built on Unreal Engine 5. Perhaps more interesting is MindsEye’s PC-only game creation system, which lets players build their own experiences using all the MindsEye assets. The $59.99 price, the studio said, is “a refreshing departure from the standard $70~$80 AAA price tag.” But what, exactly, do you get for your $60? At launch, there is of course the “tightly crafted linear story campaign,” and what’s called “single-player free roam,” but there are also a number of missions: a horde mode mission called “Destruction Site Shootout,” and two combat missions (“Honor Amongst Thieves” and “Friendly Fire”). Also at launch are six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. If you get the premium pass, you get an extra horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack. The cost of video games is one of the hottest topics in the industry, following Nintendo’s jump to $80 for Mario Kart World and Microsoft’s plan to hit $80 from this holiday season. Other video game companies are expected to follow, with the likes of Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 at the centre of a price debate following controversial comments from ****** Pitchford. All the while, some cheaper, mid-range games have found enormous success at the $50 price point, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. 2K’s upcoming ******: The Old Country will also be priced $50. MindsEye, it seems, occupies a space somewhere in-between. So, that's launch. But what about after launch? Build A Rocket Boy said it will deliver a “constant stream” of fresh premium content monthly, “ensuring MindsEye is a living, ever-expanding player experience.” This includes new missions, challenges, and game assets. “The continuous stream of studio-developed content, combined with the very best of the community’s own beautiful creations, means that MindsEye will continue to surprise and delight its players for decades to come,” Build A Rocket Boy added. Build A Rocket Boy also confirmed its 2025 roadmap of content. In the summer there will be community updates, new missions, in the fall new single-player modes, multiplayer, and new missions, and in the winter free roam updates and new missions. Premium pass owners get extra missions and new packs throughout. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. 21. Originally released in September 2023, there have been plenty of occasions during the last 18 months when it looked like Payday 3 was finished for good. Steep declines in the Steam player count, some middling user reviews, and a couple of misfire updates have all suggested a premature end for Starbreeze's struggling FPS sequel. But Payday 3 fights on. The new update and Party Powder DLC have sent the game's player numbers sharply upward. There's a new heist, a new weapon, and a total transformation of the controversial armor system. GTA 6 might be on the way and realistic shooters like Escape From Tarkov and Delta Force may rule PC right now, but perhaps Payday 3 still has a chance. Read the rest of the story...
