  3. Sorry, we're not done yet, CD Projekt has said about a Cyberpunk 2077 update that also represents that same phrase, it being about the third patch to be labelled the final one the game'll be getting. Update 2.3 was originally set to be dropping on this week, but now it's been delayed so the devs can make it about the same size as its predecessor. Yeah, they're probably adding more stuff to the pile of new things we never thought Cyberpunk'd still be getting at this stage. We're multiple encores deep in the Samurai gig at this point, but hey, the crowd's still having a great time. Read more View the full article

  6. It seems like every few months, a small indie game releases that takes Steam by storm. PEAK is the latest one of these surprise titles. PEAK is a co-op climbing game where you and your friends must work together to scale a massive mountain at the center of the island where you have gotten lost. You can grab your friends or launch them to heights to continue your progress, but progress is easily lost. If you fall in PEAK, you have to continue climbing from where you ended up, similar to games like Getting Over It. Naturally, this is made way easier with checkpoints or game saves, but does PEAK have such a feature? Here's everything there is to know about saving progress and checkpoints in PEAK. How to save progress in PEAK Image via Landfall Games There is no way to save your progress in PEAK. Each game of PEAK must be played through to completion, because every time you start a new round, you start from the beginning. Yeah, this game's hardcore. The lack of a way to save progress may scare away many players, especially when you don't have a lot of time to play. The inability to jump back in where you were is a bummer, but it's also a big part of the appeal of a game like this. Know that when you're playing PEAK with friends, you need to lock in. If you lose progress or fall to the beginning, you have to start all over again, and there is no way to save a checkpoint when you reach a new height. It's one-and-done, meaning you need to finish the game you started, or have to begin anew in another session. Not only that, but all of the items are randomized in each session and the map itself transforms and changes every 24 hours, so no two runs will ever be the same. Does PEAK have auto-save? Image via Landfall Games No, there is also no auto-save feature in PEAK, which means there are no checkpoints and there is no way to resume your progress after quitting the game. While some games may have a quiet or unnoticeable auto-save feature as you play, that is entirely missing in PEAK. It's always possible that an auto-save or checkpoint feature could be added to PEAK via an update at a later date. If that's something you want, make sure to let the developers know in a constructive way. Otherwise, clear your schedule, grab your pals, and get ready to reach the PEAK or fail trying. I'm more in it for the shared, community-driven haunts, so when I noticed the new Twitch Drop section of the ghost hunting game's UI during a Summer Game Fest demo, I asked the team if they had plans to expand on other community activities, like seasonal events... 9. Blood. Blood. Bloooooooooddddddd. Sorry, I've just watched Rebel Wolves show off the first look we've gotten at someone playing vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, and I think it's rubbed off on me a bit. To be fair, you can't blame the group of ex-Witcher 3 devs for having put together a game that looks to use the B word more often than someone who's just gotten a ****** paper cut while handling some packets of the red stuff at a blood bank. You can find all the general info as well as more specific info like unit stats. It's got info cards for: All Units, their stats, abilities, evolutions and how to get them. All ArtifactsAll TraitsAll Bonds and unit listsEach BattlePass levelAll EventsTier ListsGame Modes and detailsAll Runes Once you're done checking it out I also recommend joining the Discord. 16. Amazon Prime’s Secret Level gave us the dark sci-fi Pac-Man riff “Circle,” a short-form experiment with Alex-Garland-meets-Pixar vibes. This was quickly confirmed as a ********* pilot for Bandai Namco’s Shadow Labyrinth, a 2D action-platformer scheduled to coincide with the dot-gourmand's 45th anniversary. Pumped up as a darker take on the formative tropes of the arcade series, Shadow Labyrinth looks to be a surprisingly complex metroidvania with Namco references, sci-fi elements, and even some cartoonish body horror. 17. You're gonna be waiting a little while longer before you return to the neon-slick streets of Cyberpunk 2077, I'm afraid. CD Projekt Red has come out on social media to announce that—though it had hoped to put out the surprise patch for the game on June 26—it's proving a ******* task than it first thought, so it's being delayed to some as-yet-unspecified post-June-26 date while the devs get everything ship-shape. 19. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has quickly become the most talked-about and highly rated game of 2025, and its all-star cast of voice actors includes the likes of the legendary Andy Serkis, Jennifer English (Baldur's Gate 3), and of course, Daredevil star Charlie Cox. Believe it or not, Charlie Cox hasn't actually played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 because he's not really a big gamer, but I think fans will happily forgive him for this. View the full article

Stonemaier Games, the board game publisher responsible for some mega hits including Wingspan and Scythe, has published some of the results from a recent 'Stonemaier Ambassador survey', which asked customers to identify features they had seen in games published in 2024 or 2025 which they wanted more publishers to copy in the future. The results were broad, but the theme is clear - gamers just want publishers to be nice. Read the rest of the story...
