It looks like M. Night Shyamalan's daughter Ishana is staying in the family business, as her feature film directorial debut looks to be a surreal horror that almost definitely has a twist. Right now, M. Night is currently working on his own new film, Trap, a movie that sees an entire pop concert set up just to catch one serial *******. It's a wild concept, and one that features his eldest daughter Saleka as the pop star performing during the film, with her music set to appear in it too. But M. Night's younger daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan, also has a film in the works: The Watchers, the first trailer of which just dropped yesterday. It's not the first time that Ishana has sat in the director's chair, as she has actually directed several episodes of the horror series ******** (yes, her dad was the showrunner), and she's directed most of her sister's music videos. But The Watchers marks her feature film debut as a director, and it seems like an odd one. Based on the book of the same name by A.M. Shine, the film stars Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds, My Neighbour Totoro) as "Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night." Read more View the full article
With Starfield DLC and The Elder Scrolls 6 still in the works, Fallout London feels like the closest thing to a genuine Fallout 5 that we could see for a while. A gigantic mod that relocates Bethesda's apocalypse RPG to the eponymous *** capital, it's the creation of Team FOLON, and likely one of the most anticipated PC launches of 2024. Recently, the developer announced that Fallout London would be delayed from its previous Tuesday April 23 release date as the launch of the Fallout 4 next-gen upgrade would demand a series of changes, overhauls, and adaptations to ensure London was playable for all. Now, Team FOLON says it may be "forced" to release Fallout London, despite the coming update to FO4. Read the rest of the story... While any details are yet to be set in stone, Tom Holland has made it clear that with Spider-Man 4, "everyone wants it to happen." Companies love money, and because of that reason, Spider-Man 4 is almost definitely going to happen. It's not currently on the MCU docket at the moment, but a report from last month did say that Disney is eyeing up the director of multiple Fast & Furious films Justin Lin to take it over from Jon Watts, who's handled the previous three Holland-starring Spidey films. Zendaya is also apparently set to return, but again, Marvel and Disney are keeping quiet on what's actually going on with it. Now, in a recent interview with Deadline, Holland has at least reaffirmed that people are working on it, though it sounds like they're taking their time with it. "The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films," Holland said when asked if he'd return as the webslinger. "I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I'll always want to do more." But the more "complicated answer" when it comes to making another one is that he wants to avoid repeating the same themes in a sequel. Read more View the full article

Today, April 23, was orginally supposed to be the release date of Fallout: London, with the massive mod being pencilled in for St Georges's Day following a delay late last year. However, Fallout 4's long-awaited next-gen update ended up putting pay to that idea, given its potential to break several elements of the mod just two days after its planned release. If you're out of the loop, Fallout: London's a full conversion mod for Fallout 4 that's set to let us explore a post-apocalytic version of the English capital, complete with fresh factions and quests. We've been getting regular updates from the team behind it over the past couple of years, but its release date is now up in the air due to Fallout 4's next-gen update being set to drop on April 25. After outlining how the update would affect the mod's release plans in a video just over a week ago, Fallout: London's project lead, Dean 'Prilladog' Carter, has now provided a bit more insight into the effects the changes the update's neccessitated have affected things via an interview with the BBC. He also went a little bit more in-depth regarding Bethesda's apparent lack of communication with the mod's team regarding the update - something he touched on in that initial video. Epic Games has updated Fortnite to let players block certain emotes it said were used in “confrontational ways.” The new 'Confrontational Emotes' setting, live as part of April 23’s v29.30 update, lets players toggle visibility on four emotes, including Fortnite’s famous ‘Take the L’ emote. Players who choose not to see certain emotes that are “sometimes used in confrontational ways” will instead see a player using the emote standing still, with no emote sound, Epic said. “We want emotes to be a source of good vibes, but a few (*cough* Take the L *cough*) can sometimes feel a bit overly confrontational,” Epic explained in a tweet. The 'See Confrontational Emotes' setting applies to four emotes: Laugh It UpTake the LWhipcrackMake It Plantain The new setting can be found under ‘Social Privacy’ and will default to only show these emotes from friends in your party, Epic said. You can change this setting any time, so you can see these emotes from ANY player or not at all. It’s a significant change for Fortnite, which owes much of its early success to revenue-generating emotes as the battle royale blew up in the late 2010s. Some of the emotes became world famous dances, with even footballers performing them as goal celebrations. When griezmann hit the "Take the L" celebration VS Croatia in the world cup final [Hidden Content] — Ugo (@MCFC_Ugo) September 11, 2023 Reaction to the move is mixed, with some within the Fortnite community expressing disbelief that Epic would let players block any emote in the game, let alone some of the most famous ones. However, others are defending the decision while pointing out that even with these emotes disabled, players will still see their own avatar perform them. "We want emotes to be a source of good vibes, but a few (*cough* Take the L *cough*) can sometimes feel a bit overly confrontational. “In the years since they were added, the culture and use around them has become insanely toxic,” said redditor express_sushi49. “They are almost exclusively used in a setting where one player is sweaty beyond belief and the other is likely ****** af. Epic stands to gain nothing by allowing their players to potentially rage quit from their game over it. It's just bad business after all.” ItsChris_8776_ suggested Epic offer refunds on the listed emotes, because players who bought them did so for the express purpose of trolling others. “The main issue is that a lot of the emotes banned, such as take the L or laugh it up, were EXCLUSIVELY marketed to annoy other players that you *****, and is the main reason that players paid for these emotes,” ItsChris_8776_ said. Others still are now wondering if players will use other emotes instead in order to troll others, and, if so, whether Epic will expand the list. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. No Rest for the Wicked developer Moon Studios has released the biggest update yet for its action role-playing game as it battles to improve its ‘mixed’ user review rating on Steam. No Rest for the Wicked launched on Steam in Early Access form on April 18 to impressive concurrent player numbers, but players complained about a number of issues, including performance problems, localisation issues, and absent quality of life features. Check out IGN's No Rest for the Wicked Early Access review for more. Moon Studios, famous for the Ori franchise, said Hotfix 3 improves performance, balance, loot, harvesting, and graphics, and fixes progression blockers while adding new options in the Settings screen. A good few dozen other bugs across the rest of the game have also been squashed, Moon Studios added. It’s worth highlighting the following change: “Automatic Camera Zoom adjustment for handheld devices and Performance Mode.” That should go down well with players on Steam deck, for example. In a tweet, Thomas Mahler, Moon Studios CEO and creative director, called on Early Access players to “hang tight” as the developer works towards the 1.0 release. “We understand that people paid good money to play Wicked, so they expect a good experience on their machines from the get-go,” Mahler said. “We already released a few optimization fixes with more dramatic changes on the way! While Fortnite undoubtedly provides an incredible battle royale experience, a great deal of its success comes from Epic Games’ exciting crossovers with other popular franchises. Unfortunately for fans, a potentially epic collaboration apparently didn’t see the light of day because of Nintendo’s obstinacy. As revealed by Epic’s former Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard in an interview with Game File, Fortnite cosmetics inspired by the popular video game series Metroid were in the works, but Nintendo was apparently “hung up on their characters showing up on platforms that weren’t their platforms,” according to Mustard. “They would be thrilled to have Nintendo characters in Fortnite, but just only if it’s on their platform,” he explained.
