  1. ***** Effect, a horror action PS1 game from the year 2000 that I have incredibly fond memories of, is getting a Steam release next year, by Limited Run Games in collaboration with Square Enix. The news comes as part of the controversial (more on this in a bit) company’s digital LRG3 event. You can watch the full thing here, and the ***** Effect trailer below. 2. Shadow of the Erdtree is the major expansion Elden Ring promised for so long, but many players can’t access the content right now, so let’s see why the DLC isn’t working for you. Elden Ring‘s DLC ups the ante with even more bosses, a devastating and brutal final boss, and tons of extra weapons and Talismans. It’s everything you want from Shadow of the Erdtree and more, but there’s one thing some players want more than anything—for it to work! View the full article
  3. The opening match of Copa America was more than just a routine victory for Argentina. It also means tournament-themed content is starting to flood EA FC 24 Ultimate Team. One of the hottest commodities right now are the Copa America Throwbacks Objectives, and we’ll show you how to complete them. Euro 2024 has been keeping us engaged for the last week, but why stop at one major national tournament when there can be two? Copa America may have started a week after its ********* counterpart, but it will run until July 14, just like Euro 2024. This means EA FC 24 Ultimate Team will arguably be richer in content during the summer than it has arguably been all season, and we’re here for it. View the full article
  4. As you proceed through the main quests in Tarisland, you will find yourself in a massive library during the Truth Will Out questline. At the end of the quest, you approach a large book that asks you to answer four questions correctly to proceed. Most of these questions are easy to answer as long as you have been following the story, but if you missed something or don’t want to risk getting a question wrong, let’s help you with that. 5. A whole bunch of folks are currently busy digging into Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion now that it's out, but if you love a good JRPG, it might be worth pausing your trip to the Land of Shadow to absorb what director Hidetaka Miyazaki recently said about digging the idea of him spearheading development on one. Yup, in an interview with Rolling Stone, the developer touched on the fact that he'd like to make a traditional JRPG at some point in the future, but wouldn't feel comfortable reviving one of the IPs that make up FromSoft's previous flirtations with the genre. If you're not an expert on the studio's history, 2006's Enchanted Arms is the main game being alluded to, though a return to FromSoftware's first ever game was also ruled out. "I don’t think there’s a scenario where I myself would make a King’s Field. The same can be said about Otogi and Enchanted Arms," Miyazaki said, explaining: "I think a lot of these games are so intertwined with the directors who almost invented that style of game." 7. The first boss of the Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring is Divine ****** Dancing Lion, a massive creature who must be beaten for your Tarnished progress in the DLC. Many areas added to the open world have been introduced along with new weapons and items in this expansion. However, you won't be able to see everything until you muster the courage to take down this colossal ******. View the full article
  8. FromSoftware games are usually cryptic, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree continues the trend. But a message that appears when you approach Shadow Keep is making players scratch their heads. It reads: “Somewhere, a great rune has broken… and so, too, has a powerful charm,” and if you’re wondering what it means, you’re not alone. Elden Ring DLC: ‘Somewhere, a great rune has broken,’ explained It’s quite an alarming message, but what does it mean? Screenshot by Dot Esports You’re free to explore Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree at your own pace, and tackle its challenges in any order you want, but as soon as you approach Shadow Keep—the giant, looming ****** tower at the foot of the Erdtree—you’ll hear a distinct shattering sound and see the above message on your screen. 13. Pokémon Go Fests and other premier Niantic events are usually ways for the developers to add new mythical, legendary, and shiny Pokémon into the handheld collecting game. Still, Niantic wants to change how they are perceived. During Pokémon Go Fest Madrid on June 14, Dot Esports talked with Pokémon Go Director Michael Steranka about the Go Fest Formula, and we asked what goes into making these events and picking which Pokémon make the cut. When chatting, Steranka was keen to talk about the thought process of putting together a Go Fest and shared what his development team is now looking to do moving forward to make events more exciting, rather than just continuously introducing new legendary or shiny Pokémon every single time. 14. Roblox is undoubtedly the most fun with friends, but sometimes you just want to fly solo and play your favorite games in quiet. Thankfully, you can appear offline in Roblox to avoid the attention—here’s how. Appearing offline in Roblox, explained Unfortunately, you can’t just turn off the green “online” indicator in Roblox. Unlike some games, there isn’t a simple toggle that lets you appear offline. But there’s a way to deceive your friends into thinking you’re AFK. View the full article
  15. There are many things players may want to do in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree before the credits roll on the DLC. As an expansion of the original Elden Ring's map, it's by nature nonlinear and open-ended. Players may choose to rush right for the story dungeons and main bosses, or put them off in favor of completing optional content first. Both approaches are equally valid, and it's truly possible to do anything in any order. View the full article
  16. Elden Ring’s highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree expansion has launched into instant success, becoming a top Steam seller within the first few hours of its release. The DLC has already clocked up impressive player numbers, with over 550,000 diving into the new content—a metric that could potentially challenge Elden Ring’s original peak player count of over 950,000 this weekend. Shadow of the Erdtree has already enjoyed a bunch of love coming in from players too, regardless of the fact many haven’t been able to completely explore the sheer amount of content the expansion provides. 17. If you’re a Spear main and have been crashing out of Helldivers 2 after June 18’s update 1.000.402, well, it’s not you—it’s Arrowhead Games, and they’re working on it. The 1.000.402 hotfix introduced several bugfixes to improve the popular shooter, but players were particularly happy about its focus on the fan-favorite FAF14-Spear stratagem. Before this patch, players were failing to lock on to certain targets with the Spear, which is a shame considering how capable the ******* is against those pesky bugs. View the full article
  18. Twitch’s oft-vocal chief executive officer, Dan Clancy, has claimed the reason why the algorithm is unable to pick up on all the ******* content on the streaming platform—and therefore ban it—is because the creators aren’t using the correct labeling. The CEO’s declaration came after he appeared on Spanish Twitch star Rubius’ stream earlier this month. During the stream, he was showing off new Twitch features when his screen accidentally popped up with not-so-savory content. He laughed it off, before later explaining he’s had to manually find “offending clips” because the system hasn’t been pinging them—which has led to his algorithm offering up those kinds of suggestions. 19. Much like entering Limgrave at the beginning of the base game, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's first moments set you loose in a sprawling open world. Unlike starting a new playthrough, however, the first Site of Grace in the Land of Shadow does not point you in the direction of the main quest. Upon touching Miquella's cocoon in Mohgwyn Palace and starting Shadow of the Erdtree, a short hike out of a ravine leaves players with the entirety of the Gravesite Plain in front of them. 20. Riot Games has declared victory over the infamous League of Legends rank inflation issues this week. The development team has suggested things have been “hit down a good amount” and League players are already reporting their ranks sliding closer to their expected skill levels. One of Riot’s biggest goals this League season has been to wrangle wide-swinging ranks under control, with leading balance boss Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison admitting as much as the 2024 got underway in January. 21. VALORANT‘s recent patch schedule update, which is going to mean a delay in the release of new content like agents and maps by a day, has caused quite a stir in the Riot Games shooter’s community this week. The way new content is delivered will change with VALORANT Patch 9.0 (expected June 25), according to a recent developer update. While changes and bugfixes still arrive on Tuesdays, players won’t be able to jump into new maps or play new agents until the following Wednesday. This delay also applies to rank refreshes. 22. The key to entering the Land of Shadow and beginning Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood . Potentially unfortunate for many players hoping to hop in on the DLC's launch day is the fact that Mohg is something of a sequestered boss an optional ****** in an optional late-game area. It's entirely possible to beat Elden Ring without stepping foot in his arena, but there's luckily an easy path to Mohg that may be of use if you never took on the Lord of Blood during the first go around. 24. The Trading Hub in Grand Piece Online is a core area that lets you trade items with other players. It was introduced to Roblox’s GPO in update 3.5, replacing the Trading Island. So, if you’re a returning GPO player wondering where the Trading Island disappeared to, it was replaced by the Trading Hub. If you’re a new player, don’t worry—getting into and using the Trading Hub is pretty straightforward. View the full article
  25. During one of his recent Elden Ring livestreams, Dr Disrespect’s quick-***** and seemingly off-the-cuff joke about his dyed mustache had the chat rolling on the floor laughing. The renowned YouTube gamer went live to showcase the latest Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. At the beginning of the June broadcast, one viewer quipped, “Hey Doc, do you dye your mustache?” The Doc, flashing his trademark smirk, read the comment aloud and smoothly retorted, “Ah, the first comment of the day, huh?” He then theatrically raised his hands, revealing faint ****** stains, nodding playfully as if to confirm the speculation. “Easy now, nobody’s dyeing anything here,” the two-time added with a sly grin.
