When you watch the 100 Thieves VALORANT roster play in VCT Americas, especially over the past couple of weeks, you can’t help but notice in-game leader Kelden “Boostio” Pupello spends more time out of his chair than in it. After every monumental round, the former world champion is on his feet talking trash to anyone who will hear him. Boostio did plenty of this during his time with Evil Geniuses, especially during their run from the 2023 Americas playoffs through Masters Tokyo to Champions. But it feels more impactful now that he’s with 100 Thieves, with a roster that looked depleted and devoid of all energy after a lackluster 2023 campaign. After the team’s second straight win in VCT Americas 2024 stage one, against an undefeated Cloud9 team, Boostio spoke to Dot Esports about who is trash talking is for. Spoiler note: It’s for everyone. View the full article

AOC has just unveiled the Agon Pro AG246FK, a new 1080p gaming monitor with a ridiculous 540Hz refresh rate. However, while we can debate the need for such a fast display all we like, we can't deny that this new AOC model is far more affordable than its 540Hz gaming monitor competitors. The chief competition for this new AOC display are the Asus ROG Swift PG248QP and BenQ Zowie XL2586X, both of which cost over $900. The new AOC display, though, is set to cost just €699, which equates to around $750. That won't guarantee it a place on our best gaming monitor guide, but it gives it a good chance of earning a spot. Meta has just announced what's arguably the biggest shakeup in the relatively short history of modern VR gaming. After buying Oculus VR and effectively locking down VR gaming in the process, Meta has now announced Meta Horizon OS, a new operating system that will allow many other hardware manufacturers to use the company's VR tech to make headsets. Tech titans Asus and Lenovo are already signed up to make new Meta Horizon OS headsets, and even Microsoft has announced an Xbox VR headset. While the Meta Quest 3 comfortably reigns supreme as the best VR headset we've yet used, there's every chance some wider innovation in the headset hardware space could see Meta's own device knocked from its perch. CS2 has genuinely seen better days, what with all the cheaters running around and unresolved technical issues. Now, it seems the two have come together to grant certain players the wonderful ability to turn invisible in live matches with nothing more than their muzzle flash visible to others. The issue was brought to light (wink, wink) by Reddit user RenditionGaming, who posted a video of it on the CS2 subreddit on April 23. In the video, they are shown playing against a player who has seemingly turned invisible and could peek without any trouble of being spotted. When the player shoots, only the ****’s muzzle flash appears (though even that would be concealed if they were using a silenced *******). Players reacting to the video are rightfully disappointed, as this only adds to the ever-growing list of problems faced by Valve’s flagship shooter. View the full article

Royale-battler Fortnite will soon allow players to hide a handful of emotes the developers concede are "sometimes used in confrontational ways". This includes the emote reported as the most-used in Fortnite's seven-year history. That's either a worrying indictment of the game's players, or a (more?) worrying indictment of universal human psychology. What is the offending animation?
