  1. I don't have a lot of interest in VR these days, but I do have an interest in the beautifully realised miniature doings of your villagers in Manor Lords, the city builder that is currently rather popular on noted purveyor of ye finest interactive entertainments Steam - and which now has unofficial VR support care of Flat2VR and Praydog's UEVR. 4. Have you been left a bit bummed out that, after having your appetite for the series renewed by Amazon's Fallout TV show, the most recent Fallout games on offer are Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, both of which are getting fairly long in the tooth, even if they are still getting fresh updates? Well, here's what could be a bit of good news - Todd Howard says Bethesda's looking into upping its output, if it can do so in a manner it's a fan of. Yup, while we have had Fallout 4's rather, er, troubled next-gen update to dig into, and Appalachia to rediscover, the show's highlighted the need for more regular entries. Especially given that The Elder Scrolls 6 is next up on the docket and still seems years away at this point. Speaking to Kinda Funny Games for an interview that also saw him confirm when Starfield's first expansion will be dropping, Todd Howard also touched on where the studio's at in terms of making new things. 5. A loot-driven flight RPG, Everspace 2 was one of the best space games of 2023, and perfect for those of us who thought Starfield could use some speedier ship combat and a smattering of Diablo's loot system. Now, the new free Everspace 2 Incursions update is here, bringing with it an upgraded engine, new legendary loot, more combat opportunities, and plenty more to satiate both new and returning players alike. If you've never played it, Everspace 2 is also 50% on Steam for a limited time. Read the rest of the story... 6. The game of the moment? The medieval city builder, Manor Lords, of course. The game burst into early access over the weekend and has so far sold over one million copies on Steam. Moreover, it reached a high point for strategy games at over 170,000 players playing at once. With figures like that, for a game in early access, I've come to expect reports of performance issues. Yet there have been surprisingly few. Of those, the developer says, most ending up in a system ****** are the result of outdated drivers... Read more.View the full article
  7. The latest Helldivers 2 patch features what looks like a massive buff to ****** patrols for teams with less than four players, and Arrowhead Game Studios shared more insight regarding the change. Initially, the Helldivers 2 patch notes stated “patrol spawning has been increased when there are fewer than 4 players” and that full teams shouldn’t notice any changes, while the most noticeable change is for solo players. Helldivers didn’t take this buff lightly, as playing the game solo is already challenging. In a Reddit post on April 29, an associate community manager from Arrowhead shared clarification from the design director regarding the change. View the full article
  8. Real-world crossovers have become somewhat of a staple in recent years, not least thanks to Fortnite. Despite being tailor-made for it, Clash of Clans has never included a celebrity as a character—until now. The final result is a hauntingly accurate depiction of Erling Haaland. Soccer superstar Erling Haaland is breaking new ground by becoming the first real-life person to have his very own Clash of Clans character. The most polite description we can give for his model is memorable. We’re sure Haaland is aware of his facial features’ uniqueness, but they are somehow enhanced tenfold in the Clash of Clans engine, resulting in proper nightmare fuel upon close inspection. 9. If the launch of Manor Lords has proven one thing, it's that some games are worth the wait. We've had a blast with Armored Core 6. Upcoming shooter Mecha Break looks fantastic, too. But after almost three decades of waiting, one of the ultimate and formative robotic pioneers is finally on PC. A combination of FromSoftware's beloved mech game and JRPG classics like Final Fantasy, this is overhauled, remade, and relaunched for Steam, and it's available to play today. Here are all Exospines in Stellar Blade, ranked.Which Exospine is best in Stellar Blade? While each Exospine can be useful for a specific playstyle, some make a massive difference in combat performance. From worst to best, here are the best Exospines in Stellar Blade. 11. Grenadier-Type ExospineScreenshot: PC InvasionThe Grenadier-Type Exospine sounds good on paper, increasing the overall effectiveness of consumables such as shock grenades. But the thing is, consumables are already strong enough to begin with. Also, you won’t find yourself using them all the time as they are only really useful to stun a boss in times of struggle. 12. Though Fallout 76 and Starfield may be completely different games, one scary monster noticed in each may be the connection Bethesda fans have been looking for. Bethesda is known for its open-world RPGs even though some have had roller-coaster success in recent years. Meanwhile, the recent live-action Fallout show received mass acclaim and has helped propel sales of the franchise's games. Along with the show, next-gen updates were given to Fallout 4, which even included some new content for players to enjoy. View the full article
  13. So, you’re finally approaching the end of your journey through the Commonwealth—or maybe you just want to make sure you make the right choices when you get there. Either way, Fallout 4 keeps up the series’ tradition of offering multiple endings. Mercifully, Fallout 4 doesn’t reduce the ending choice to a binary button press at the end of the storyline (we’re looking at you, Fallout 3), but instead has you lean toward one faction or another over the course of the game. While this means the story’s ultimate conclusion feels more natural, it also means the criteria for reaching certain endings aren’t the clearest. We’ve broken down every ending and its requirements below to help you get the most satisfying conclusion to your Sole Survivor’s story. View the full article

  15. The team over at Paradox Tectonic has announced that its upcoming life simulator Life by You will be launching into Early Access on June 4 this year — and, if that sounds like something you've heard before, it's because we've actually known the date for a couple of months already! If you're wondering why a studio would go out of their way to re-announce something it already said — and relatively recently, too — the answer ***** between the lines of the press release. What they've actually said is that "Life by You is ready for early access" (emphasis mine), and the intention is probably to differentiate this from the last two early access releases for the game, which caught delays. The highly touted Sims-alike was originally announced in March 2023 for a mid-September early access release the same year, only to be pushed back to March 2024 at the end of July. Then that March date was put back again to June 4 in early February of this year. Both of these delay announcements came around five or six weeks before the intended launch which — oh look, is just about where we are now! So, it seems like Paradox Tectonic just wants to reaffirm that we should keep that date seriously cleared on our calendars, after its last couple of rain checks. Read more View the full article
  16. A long-awaited gameplay feature in Genshin Impact is finally arriving if new Version 4.7 leaks are to be believed. The action RPG has just entered the first stages of Version 4.6, a bulky patch that brought forth a load of playable content. Players got an extension to the Fontaine map accompanied by a whole new underwater section and its respective World Quests, as well as Character Quests and the playable version of Arlecchino, the only new character in Genshin Impact 4.6. While there is still a lot to do in the current patch, eyes are turned toward the next update. View the full article

Bandai Namco's 3D fighter franchise has fostered a sizable and dedicated community since its 1994 debut, but that doesn't mean all the members of the Tekken sphere can agree on acceptable playstyles. Many players particularly look down on "spammers," but as one user's Tekken 8 **** has shown, there might be a reason why mashing the same move over and over again is such a popular strategy. Naturally, it reached Asmongold in a matter of hours, and now he’s considering taking legal action. While watching Asmongold’s content, the 26-year old streamer said: “Listen, I’ll up the number. $30k to anyone who’ll make this ******** disappear and make Eve’s breasts *******. 22. In a world of 200 million dollar games, studios don’t get to make a Returnal very often. Returnal is an extremely difficult, narratively obtuse roguelike, which the majority of players will only ever see the first level of. That is not a recipe for a game published by PlayStation. That is not a game on the side of a London bus. Returnal doesn’t sponsor the Champion’s League final. Where the last decade of PlayStation’s dominance has been characterized by absolute blockbuster hits like The Last of Us, **** of War, and Horizon, Returnal is a modern cult classic and ******** the most exciting thing published by PlayStation Studios in years. 23. If you're absolutely horrified by CGI apes, a bonus feature on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' physical release might be for you. It might be 13 years old, but to this day I think 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes has some of the best motion-capture acting and CGI apes around. They're looking equally good, if not better, in the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Understandably though, they might venture a little bit into uncanny territory for some people, so it's possible they might be giving this one a miss. But I've got good news for you with this latest sequel! In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Ape Nation (yes, it's actually called that), director Wes Ball spoke of the film's eventual physical release, and specifically of one bonus feature it will include. "I'm doing a little thing for the DVD where you can watch the entire movie with the raw dailies," Ball explained. "You'll see how close they get and what they do and how they stitch everything together. It's amazing!" What that means is, it'll be all of the footage without any post production effects ***** over the top, meaning it'll just be actors wearing mo-cap suits, so presumably there'll be nary a CGI ape in sight. It's a cool sounding behind-the-scenes look at how a film gets made, and it's great for people who seriously struggle with the uncanny valley! Read more View the full article
  24. The debate on whether sticking the word ‘space’ in front of something instantly makes it better rages eternal with the heat of a thousand space-air fryers, but the yaysayers are at least victorious in the case of retro-futuristic RPG Beyond Galaxyland, in which turn-based combat is aided by your pal ***** *****, who is a space hamster with a **** and a little waistcoat. I like this creature , but honestly, you could replace them with a sentient bin bag, and I’d be happy. With pixel art this vibrant and detailed, I reckon even a bulging sack of coffee ground and banana peels would be worth adventuring with. Don’t do it, though. It’s a good guinea pig. 25. I has had a pretty controversial role across the gaming industry as of the past couple of years including—but certainly not limited to—designing NPCs. Recently, Ubisoft debuted uncanny AI-powered "neo NPCs", and to say I'm sceptical of the tech's actual uses is an understatement. Streamer Blurbs, however, has finally gotten me on board with at least one: letting his chat inject the most cursed custom voice lines into the denizens of Skyrim like a bunch of smutty skinwalkers...
