  1. Regardless of whether you have a Radeon or GeForce graphics card, chances are it's made by a board partner rather than either GPU manufacturer. While MSI has batted for both AMD and Nvidia for several generations of pixel pushers, it appears the company is shifting its priorities to the latter moving forward. Read the rest of the story... 2. Valheim's massive new Ashlands update adds so much content that it is worth revisiting for multiple reasons. The indie Viking survival game first launched in 2021 and was an instant success. Eight days after the initial release, the game had already sold over eight million copies, ensuring a future for the standout title. Since then, Valheim has had one other large update at the end of 2022 with the Mistlands, but this new update appears to add even more - and will change the survival game forever. 3. Those of you hesitant to pick up a Paramount Plus subscription but want to try out Knuckles are in luck, because the first episode is available for free on YouTube. It seems like an increasingly common tactic of roping in new subscribers to streaming services is by releasing the first episode of a series for free, which is exactly what Paramount has done with Knuckles. As long as you're in the US (it isn't available in the ***, and can't speak for other territories), the whole first episode is free to watch from start to finish on YouTube. The episode was uploaded earlier today, but there's no indication how long it will be available for. Your mileage may vary, but typically these aren't permanently public, so if you do want to watch it without subscribing to Paramount Plus, now is the best time to do so. It being free might also be a bit of a blessing, as outside of the incredibly odd fourth episode that I still can't figure out if it's actually good or not, the first episode is the best one (yes it's because Sonic and Tails are in it, why are you asking). Seriously, the rest of the show isn't… great, to put it politely - our own Dom described it as something of a fever dream, which I would certainly agree with as an assessment. 4. Foundry is a futuristic factory building sandbox that offers players nearly endless opportunities for efficiency. It's the debut title from Channel 3 Entertainment, which was founded by developers that have worked on titles like Don't Starve Together and Oxygen Not Included, and published by Paradox Interactive, known for franchises like Age of Wonders and Cities: Skylines. It's about to enter early access next month, and even for an unfinalized version of the game, Foundry shows an immense amount of potential. View the full article

  6. Sonic Superstars is down to just £12.32 on PS5 right now at Amazon in the ***. It's also down to £12.35 on Xbox, a pretty hefty discount for a £54.99 game that only came out in October of last year. Still, Sonic fans, if you haven't yet got around to playing it, this is likely the cheapest it's going to get so check out the deal ASAP while it's still in stock. We'll leave a handy link just below! In our review of Sonic Superstars, we said: "I started hedgehog over heels for Sonic Superstars, but the more time I put into it, the easier it was for me to see its Eggman-sized flaws. The decision to focus more on exploration was a great idea on paper and creates a unique dynamic to each level, but I wish it hadn’t sacrificed speed in exchange. The boss designs are creative and clever, but often wear out their welcome with long periods of being untargetable and occasionally frustrating one-hit KO mechanics." "The soundtrack may not have anything as iconic as Hydro City or Spring Yard Zone, but it features some excellent additions to an already long list of Sonic bangers – if only the sound design was up to the same quality standard. And while the campaign is still enjoyable, Superstars’ multiplayer components are far worse options than anything in past Sonic games. Like digging Emeralds out of the rough, Sonic Superstars’ new ideas end up feeling like a mix of both interesting and ill-advised, making it an amusing Sonic game but not exactly a Super one." Other big gaming deals right now include Stellar Blade for just £57.48 with code PAYAY20 (see here), with over £12 off the RRP for a limited time only. We'll leave a handy link to the Stellar Blade preorder discount just below, but as we mentioned, this deal will expire soon at 11:59 PM on April 30 -- so don't hang around on this one. This is part of a new payday ***** at eBay using code PAYAY20, which includes some pretty impressive discounts, and 20% off some of the best games going right now -- including Stellar Blade which will likely be on a lot of PlayStation gamers' radar for the end of this month. Plus, there are also games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5 is down to just £47.16, alongside Steam Deck 512GB for £374.95. These payday discounts are well worth taking advantage of if you're making any purchases in the spring sales and beyond, so keep them in mind. 7. The most recent update to Helldivers 2 aimed to significantly improve the game’s balance. Numerous weapons, enemies, and Strategems were the targets of either nerfs or buffs. Gameplay saw some changes too, and a mission previously reserved for low-level play can now be enjoyed on higher difficulties. Helldivers 2 Patch 01.000.300 introduced changes to a dozen weapons, Strategems, and enemies. The CB-9 Exploding Crossbow received the most significant update. Its maximum magazine size and ********** radius has decreased to compensate for an increase in muzzle velocity and resupply. The BR-14 Adjudicator got a general buff, while the SG-8P Punisher Plazma saw tweaks similar to the Crossbow. High Armor suits now also give headshot protection, and burning will deal 15 percent less damage to afflicted Helldivers. Other weapons received minor rebalance. 13. A new update for Helldivers 2 is here with Patch 01.000.300. And this particular patch comes with a long awaited community request that finally disables auto vaulting in Helldivers 2. How to disable auto vaulting in Helldivers 2To turn off auto vaulting in Helldivers 2, players need to bring up the options menu and navigate to the gameplay tab. Then, look to the bottom of this menu and you’ll see a new option called Toggle Auto Climb. This is set to yes by default, but by switching it to off you’ll never auto vault in Helldivers 2.Screenshot: PC InvasionInstead, to vault over objects you’ll need to manually press the Climb button, which is mapped to the Cross/X button by default. There will likely be plenty of players who prefer to keep this feature on its default setting. After all, not having to worry about an additional button input during tense combat can be relieving. But plenty of experienced Helldivers feel that it gets them into more trouble th...View the full article
  14. A mock-up posted by MobaPad provides one vision of how magnetically attached Switch 2 Joy-***** might look (credit: MobaPad) [/url] Thus far, Nintendo has offered only vague hints regarding whether or not the upcoming Switch 2 will run games and software designed for the current Switch. Now, an obscure ******** peripheral maker is reporting that the new console will indeed work with existing physical Switch game cards and digital Switch game downloads. The new report comes from MobaPad, a little-known creator of Switch controllers and carrying cases based in Shenzen, China. In a Sunday morning blog post, the company says it is "in the process of developing the next-generation console controller" for the Switch 2 and has "acquired a lot of first-hand information" about the console as a result (MobaPad shared similar insights days earlier on ******** video site Bilibili and briefly on its English Facebook page). Chief among MobaPad's purported revelations is that "the cartridge slot of the Switch 2 will support backward compatibility with physical Switch game cartridges, ensuring compatibility with players' existing game libraries, including digital versions." Game cards designed specifically for the Switch 2, on the other hand, "may not be compatible with the first-generation console," suggesting there may be a physical change preventing Switch 2 game cards from being accidentally inserted into an older Switch console. 20. I knew exactly what to expect when I booted up Remnant 2 again to play The Forgotten Kingdom. Bedazzling environments, an enchanting soundtrack, ruthless bosses, and a whole new Archetype to discover and tinker with. It’s a ton of fun in a bitesize package with more of everything I loved about the base game. But, just like the first DLC, it left me hungry for more instead of fully satisfied, and I can’t help but feel Remnant 2 deserves more than just another rehash of a world we’ve explored before. More of the same, can’t complain The new environments are gorgeous, but nothing you won’t be familiar with. Screenshot by Dot Esports The Forgotten Kingdom DLC launched on April 23, adding a new storyline to Yaesha. If you played Remnant 2‘s first DLC, you already know what you’re in for—a three-to-four-hour-long journey with a handful of new areas, bosses, and items. Like last time, you can experience The Forgotten Kingdom in its entirety by choosing a “One Shot” Adventure that lets you play all the new levels in one go. You can only do this once, so pick your difficulty carefully, and make sure you explore every ***** and cranny of Yaesha’s new zones to collect all the new loot, because afterward, they’re mixed in with levels from the base game.
