If you're planning to play Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail in early access, Square Enix has a small request to make of you. After a two and half year long gap, Final Fantasy 14's latest expansion Dawntrail is almost in player's hands. The MMO's producer Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida graciously gave everyone an entire week to play Shadow of the Erdtree, but the early access release date for Dawntrail is coming up this Friday, June 28, so if you fit within that intersection of interests you've not got long left. But it should be noted that this is just for those with the option to play the newest expansion in early access, as the general release is a full week after that on July 5. As part of that gap, Square Enix has put out a little post kindly asking players that do have early access to be careful about sharing spoilers (though it isn't actually going to stop you from doing so). Gigabyte has just extended its range of graphics cards featuring its new concealed power connector. The new Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super WindForce MAX OC 16G graphics card not only makes for neat cable tidying, by hiding the power connector on the back of the graphics card, but it also means you can plug the cable into the card in a straight line from the side, with no need to bend it. There is an ever-present anxiety if you own the best graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, because the 16-pin power connection has a disturbing tendency to melt, particularly if the plug isn't secured properly in the socket, which is sometimes the result of a bend putting pressure on the connection. The new lineup of Intel Arrow Lake gaming CPUs looks set to have higher base clock speeds than the company's current processors, according to a new *****. The base clock is the frequency at which a processor ostensibly runs when it's processing everyday tasks, and not being pushed hard by intensive jobs such as gaming or video encoding, and the latest information shows this clock speed could be significantly higher on Intel's new CPUs than on its current ones. There's a catch, though. When you're looking for the best gaming CPU, it's the boost clock (or turbo clock) that you really want to be higher, rather than the base clock, as that's the maximum speed the CPU will hit when you're gaming. Open-world zombie adventure Days Gone might not technically feature any zombies, but at least the discourse around a potential sequel is constantly reanimating. Via Xitter, the original game’s creative director John Garvin has encouraged fans to "never say never" about a Days Gone 2, while reminding us that a full outline for the game had already been completed prior to his departure from developers Bend Studio in 2020. Even with the caveat of "I’m not holding my breath", Garvin’s take is an altogether more hopeful one that that of fellow Bend alumni and Days Gone game director Jeff Ross, who in May tweeXed a collage of popular PlayStation characters – sans his own post-apocalyptic motorcycling hero, Deacon St. John. "A lot of people still ask me if there will ever be a Days Gone sequel, so I submit this poster as evidence it will never happen", Ross wrote, along with an apparent pop at Sony Interactive execs (including Hermen Hulst, co-CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment) for never being "fans" of the game. Dandy’s World is a new Roblox game by BlushCrunch Studio (creators of Tower Frenzy), and it has already garnered tons of players. The devs have released a few codes to celebrate the successful launch, and we’re here to share them with you. Dandy’s World is a co-op survival game, similar to ***** by Daylight, where you play as a colorful character (similar to Poppy’s Playtime) and try to extract Ichor from machines while avoiding deadly enemies that chase you around. The game requires cooperation because some players need to work on extracting Ichor while others need to keep the enemies busy. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree players quickly discovered that the DLC was going to put them to the test as soon as they met the first boss, the imposingly named Divine ****** Dancing Lion but it turns out this early encounter is hiding an embarrassing secret. It's a brutal encounter that requires The Tarnished to display their reflexes and knowledge of status conditions to claim victory, especially when said ****** is so prone to flinging himself around the arena. Fortnite Reload is already causing mixed feelings in the Fortnite community. For different reasons, everyone is wondering if this mode is going to be permanent or temporary. While Epic Games hasn’t clearly said if Fortnite Reload is permanent, it’s likely permanent. We asked Epic Games for confirmation, but Fortnite Reload is similar to other permanent modes like LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. It’s a standalone experience.
