Last month, GTA 6 publishers Take-Two Interactive announced plans to "rationalize" their "pipeline" by laying off five per cent of their workforce - around 580 people - and cancelling various games. 2. Apex Legends has officially welcomed its newest addition to the game’s ever-growing roster, with Alter joining the fray as one of the most mysterious legends to date. In the new trailer, Alter explains to an unfortunate captive that she was taken in and trained to become a deadly *********, and eventually, she became one of the best. Her previous employers eventually betrayed her, and left her to fend for herself—or so she says. Throughout the rest of the trailer, she answers different targets as they ask her the same question: Who are you? She comes up with different stories every time, meaning her backstory is still as mysterious as her motivations to join the Apex Games. View the full article
  3. Marvel Rivals’ closed alpha test begins next week, and players are fiending to get their hands on the six-vs-six hero shooter. While the game draws obvious comparisons to Overwatch, one thing that separates it from Blizzard’s game is that Marvel Rivals is a third-person shooter, while OW2 is a first-person shooter. In a new developer blog today, Marvel Rivals’ creators explained why the choice was made to go third-person. View the full article

  13. There's a video game about Funko Pops coming out in September. Yes. It's called Funko Fusion, and it's just gotten a reveal trailer, which features Funko Pops from about 15 thousand different IPs. Your kids might end up totally addicted to it, as they are to Roblox and eating crayons. Or, they might hate it. Or, they may very well not even care that it exists. Why's this a thing, you ask? Well, without answering 'capitalism' in quite a reductive manner and clocking off for tea and biscuits, my answer has to be that it's the product of a collaboration between 10.10 Games and Funko to create video games. Funko Fusion is one of those, and apparently it's designed to be "a festival of fandom" the likes of which you've never experienced. In line with that slgan, the reeveal trailer that's just arrived for Funko Fusion - a name which in and of itself sounds a bit like a ***** from a 90s cartoon - features enough popular franchises in Funko Pop form that you'll definitely get flashbacks to times you've visit a shop that happens to sell a few DVDs or comics in addition to a mountain of real life Funko Pops. 17. Those of you wishing for a new Batman: Arkham game will soon have your wish granted, though it might not be exactly how you envisioned it. Earlier this year, Rocksteady released its latest addition to its Batman Arkhamverse with ******** Squad: ***** the Justice League. Unfortunately, it did not go down very well with either fans or critics, and months later the game still isn't in a state that many would describe as good. But, all is not lost, as a new Batman: Arkham game was announced! The catch? It's releasing exclusively on the Meta Quest 3. Revealed earlier today with a short teaser trailer, Batman: Arkham Shadow is the latest title to take part in the Arkhamverse Rocksteady established all those years ago, though it won't be the ones developing it. Arkham Shadow will instead be developed by Iron Man VR developer Camouflaj (yes, I spelt that right) alongside Oculus Studios, in partnership with Warner Bros. and DC. A blog post that accompanied the game's announcement explains that "evil stalks the streets. Gotham City is in danger. And you’re the only one who can save it." That tells us literally nothing about what you'll actually be doing in the game, nor does it even confirm you'll actually be playing as Batman, but I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that you will. 22. Say what you like about Bethesda (and I will), but it's a studio that's great at detail. We don't seem to have written about the second one - time to change that, I guess. Here's the Steam release announcement trailer. Read more View the full article
