  3. ***** is allegedly developing a remake of the original Jet Set Radio as a separate project to the officially announced franchise reboot, as screenshots and footage have appeared online. It's unclear if the leaks are genuine, but X/Twitter user @MSKAZZY69 shared four images of the alleged reboot, sourcing previously reliable ***** leaker Midori — though they were exposed to be a leaker called MysticDistance pretending to be someone else when they claimed to give up leaking information earlier in June 2024. The source of the screenshots are therefore hazy, as is a 32-second gameplay video which appears unlisted on YouTube channel @CrimsonMk3, but both show what looks like an updated version of the beloved Jet Set Radio. IGN has asked ***** for comment. A remake of the original Jet Set Radio is in the works at *****, it is a full remake of the Dreamcast game and it is not related to the F2P reboot. Source: Midori [Hidden Content] — Senhorita Kazzy (@MSKAZZY69) June 24, 2024 Three of the screenshots show protagonist Beat exploring Tokyo by grinding on rails and running across walls, while the fourth shows the World Map, which features locations such as Central, DennoCho Station, Neribei, SubCul, and South. The video shows what appears to be an in-development trailer for the game, again showing Beat traversing Tokyo while spraying graffiti, performing tricks, and more. This footage is incredibly similar, if not identical in places, to the "Next Generation" montage released by ***** when it announced the reboot alongside revivals of other classic franchises Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage in December 2023. This remake, if real, is allegedly separate from the reboot of Jet Set Radio, but it does tick a lot of the same boxes. The reboot is also likely open-world and brings the classic characters and gameplay to modern platforms. The original creators are also involved. ***** announced this reboot alongside revivals of other classic franchises Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage in December 2023. 4. The developer of Palworld has said Nintendo is yet to make a complaint after The Pokémon Company said it intended to investigate amid the “Pokémon rip-off” claims earlier this year. Palworld, dubbed ‘Pokémon with Guns,’ launched in early access form in January 2024 on PC via Steam and on Xbox as a day-one Game Pass title. It saw enormous popularity overnight, becoming one of the biggest game launches of all time. But it’s also one of the most controversial. Developer Pocketpair has said its staff has received ****** threats amid the Pokémon "rip-off" claims, which it has denied. Soon after Palworld’s launch Nintendo moved quickly to remove an eye-catching Pokémon mod, then The Pokemon Company issued a statement, saying: "We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to Pokémon." At the time, IGN asked lawyers whether Nintendo could successfully sue. Now, speaking to Game File, Pocketpair boss Takuro Mizobe insisted it has yet to receive any complaint from Nintendo or The Pokémon Company, even after The Pokémon Company issued its statement that it intended to launch an investigation. “Nothing at all,” Mizobe said. “Nintendo and the Pokémon Company didn’t say anything to us. Of course I love Pokémon and respect it. I grew up with it, in my generation.” Despite this, fans continue to compare Palworld to Pokémon, and this week’s major new update, called Sakurajima, will no-doubt fuel those comparisons. Pocketpair has also teased Palworld on PlayStation, although a Nintendo Switch version sounds unlikely. IGN’s Palworld early access review returned an 8/10. We said: “Palworld may crib quite a bit from Pokémon’s homework, but deep survival mechanics and a hilarious attitude make it hard to put down – even in early access.” As much as possible, I try to avoid creating new things. It turns out that in 2010, then student developer Mizobe created a DS game while enrolled in a one-year Nintendo Game Seminar in Tokyo. Game File asked if he learned any lessons from working with Nintendo that stuck with him years later. “Kind of,” Mizobe replied, reportedly with a laugh. “I always think: to make new things is very hard. In game development, of course, sometimes we have to do it, but, as much as possible, I try to avoid creating new things.” Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. 5. Today, hardware and software applications of AI have advanced to become purpose-built for optimizing artificial intelligence and neural network operations. 6. While there were plenty of armchair lawyers and some actual lawyers who were convinced that Palworld would end up in hot water with Pokemon and Nintendo due to percieved similarities between its pals and, well, Pokemon, PocketPair's CEO has suggested that the studio is yet to recieve any formal indication of planned legal action from those parties. If you're out of the loop, back when Palworld had its initial surge in popularity in January, it attracted allegations that the models used for some of its creatures were close to being rip-offs of established Pokemon. Things even got as far as The Pokemon Company issuing a statement on the matter, asserting that it would "investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to the Pokemon". Well, according to PocketPair CEO Takuro Mizobe in an interview with Game File, nothing concrete in terms of legal communications or outreaches regarding Palworld potentially infriging on any Pokemon IP has been forthcoming from Nintendo or The Pokemon Company so far. 9. Since its September 2023 release, Counter-Strike 2 has been struggling with cheaters. Unfortunately, almost a year after its premiere, not much has changed, with MOUZ’s torzsi pointing out how bad it is. On June 24, MOUZ torzsi said the issue’s still the same with CS2’s Premier mode, with the high rankings flooded with hackers all the time. The player was a guest on the HLTV Confirmed talk show, where he was asked about the issue. He admitted he plays the Premier mode from time to time. While in his eyes the middle rankings around 15,000 points aren’t that bad, the high ones have cheaters in each game. View the full article
  10. The Batman came out more than two years ago now, and now its own Alfred Pennyworth has shared when the sequel will be filming. Despite the hard reboot of the DCU, James Gunn has opted to let us hang on to Matt Reeves' take on the world of Batman, as a sequel to 2022's The Batman is still in the works. It was originally meant to arrive in 2025, but received a delay of a full year to October 2, 2026, meaning we've got to wait a further two years before we're able to check the sequel out. Pre-production generally seems to be underway for The Batman 2, though, and there's just been a little update from Andy Serkis, who plays Alfred Pennyworth in the first film, as to when we can expect filming to start for the sequel. As reported by Popverse, Serkis appeared at ACE Superhero Comic **** 2024, where he jokingly said "Well, there is a huge arc which you’ve got – nah, I’m not giving away anything." While he did take the chance to make a little goof, he did give a timeline when the cameras will start rolling: "Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year. Therefore, if you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that. Read more View the full article

  15. This week the showrunners of Prime Video’s Fallout TV show confirmed Robert House “will be involved” in Season 2, cementing the appearance of a major Fallout New Vegas character after a pre-war cameo in Season 1. Warning: Spoilers for Fallout Season 1 and Fallout New Vegas follow. Given the Fallout TV show is set after all the Fallout games and is considered canon, the confirmation of Mr. House’s appearance in Season 2 has sparked all sorts of fan theories about how he’ll make his live-action appearance, and what it means for Obsidian’s much-loved New Vegas itself. First, some background. Robert House appears in New Vegas as Mr. House. He rules New Vegas as a brain plugged into a supercomputer that has extended his existence from the pre-war era hundreds of years into the post-war era. Robert House makes a cameo appearance in the Fallout TV show during a pre-war scene in which the then RobCo Industries boss plots with Vault-Tec management and the heads of other companies to not only survive the inevitable nuclear apocalypse, but maybe even trigger it. Season 1 ends with a Power Armor-clad Overseer Hank stomping towards New Vegas, with The Ghoul and Lucy MacLean in hot pursuit. Much of Season 2, it seems, will be set in New Vegas and deal with the coming together of the main characters there. As for how this fits in the Fallout timeline, the Fallout TV show is set in 2296, nine years after the events of Fallout 4 and 15 years after the events of Fallout New Vegas. We’ve already seen a debate about which Fallout 4 ending should be considered canon, if any. And now we know Mr. House is in Season 2, presumably in the current post-apocalyptic timeline and not relegated to pre-war flashbacks only, fans are debating which New Vegas ending would make most sense as canon. Let’s talk about New Vegas’ various endings. Depending on the choices the player, aka The Courier, makes throughout the course of the game, New Vegas can end with victory for the player during the Battle of Hoover Dam, which drives out all factions including Mr. House himself, a victory for Mr. House in which he ******** in control of New Vegas and takes over Hoover Dam, a victory for Caesar's Legion, or a victory for the New California Republic. There are variations within these endings, but let’s look in more detail at the one most fans now believe will be considered canon as we head into Season 2 of the TV show. If Mr. House is in Season 2 in a post-war setting, as in alive when the main characters turn up at New Vegas, then it’s likely he survived the events of New Vegas the video game. So, perhaps the New Vegas ending the show assumes to be canon is the one in which Mr. House's Securitron army takes control of Hoover Dam and the Strip, pushing both the Legion and the NCR out. This ending, the player is told, causes Mr. House to continue to run New Vegas in a despotic vision of pre-War glory. “The streets were orderly, efficient, cold,” the ending says. “New Vegas continued to be the sole place in the wasteland where fortunes were won and lost in the blink of an eye.” As Fallout co-showrunner Graham Wagner has now confirmed: “Many of our lead characters are Vegas-bound. Las Vegas in the world of Fallout is Robert House’s town. Robert House will be involved in Season 2.” According to Fallout lore expert TKs-Mantis, the House ending in Fallout: New Vegas “is about to be canon when Season 2 of the show drops.” House is alive, which means we might have chosen the Dam with NCR, they launch a ***** like shady sands. Maybe it goes downhill siding with House, The Courier is the unknown variable. So perhaps we *****, or left. House had to pick a more irreliable apprentice. Caesars Legion??? [Hidden Content] — Hector Moya (@Pope831) June 24, 2024 What we don’t know is what happened to New Vegas in the 15 years after the events of the video game. The glimpse we get of New Vegas at the end of Season 1 shows the area in apparent ruins, which is not the state of the place at the end of the video game. If that glimpse does indeed reflect the New Vegas we’ll see in Season 2, how did things get so bad? But there is some debate about the reliability of the New Vegas teased at the end of Season 1. Some believe the images we see do not show New Vegas in ruins at all, rather just as run-down as most places in the Fallout universe (no-one ever tidies up!). Similarly, there are questions over whether Caesar's Legion, the NCR, or even The Boomers will have survived. Will the Courier still be around? The only thing that is clear, really, is that there are many questions to be answered. Fans have plenty of theories about the Snake Oil Salesman’s mysterious serum, for example (this one's my favorite!). To keep you going until Season 2, be sure to check out IGN’s wide-ranging, spoiler-filled interview with Bethesda Game Studios executive Todd Howard and executive producer and director Jonathan Nolan. In the interview, Howard confirms the ****** that ******** Shady Sands, as seen in the Fallout TV show, fall just after the events of New Vegas. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. While most Fortnite updates tend to come out on Tuesday, update v30.20 released on a Saturday, June 22, only nine days after the first update of Chapter 5 Season 3. The patch was released much sooner than expected, as Epic Games employees went on break soon after. 19. Sorry, My Hero Academia fans, but the end is almost here: the popular superhero manga is ending in just five chapters. It's been a long time coming, but as announced on the official ********* My Hero Academia Twitter account, the Weekly Shonen Jump manga will receive its final chapter on August 5. There's five chapters left to go, with the series currently wrapping up its final story with a mini epilogue arc. I won't spoil how things end up for those that only watch the anime, but it's great to know that the manga isn't suddenly coming to an end, and that there's time for all of the characters to reflect on their journey. These last five chapters will bring the series to a total of 430 chapters, an impressively lengthy manga, though thankfully not quite as long as something like One Piece. In a statement (via IGN), series creator Kōhei Horikoshi said "There are just five chapters left until the manga's end. Some might think, 'there's still five chapters to go?!' while others may think, 'just five chapters left?!' But I'll do my best to make sure both camps enjoy these last five chapters with Deku and the others. It was a rocky road, but I was able to draw Deku and his friends for nearly 10 years thanks to everyone who kept on reading. It was a dream. Thank you so much! Well, let's meet again in Jump!" 25. Here's a fresh Helldivers 2 patch, and the good news is that it should hopefully mark and end to the various troubles that've been afflicting the poor spear for a while now. Oh, and there are a number of other fixes Arrowhead's chucked in there. If you're out of the loop, Helldivers 2's poor FAF-14 spear suffered from broken aming for a good while earlier this year, before Arrowhead was finally able to rectify this through two separate fixes issued in recent patches and hotfixes. Sadly since that point, it's developed a new issue, with aiming it causing the game to ****** - up until today, that is. As you can read in the notes for patch 01.000.403, which is just a little fella in comparison to the balancing tweak laden behemoth we got last week, it comes with a fix aimed at brining an end to the crashes folks have been getting while using the spear. We can only pray this'll mean Helldivers 2's loyal spear fanclub will finally be able to use their favoured ******* for at least a little while without running into any more issues.
