  1. Contexto is one of the nerdiest word games out there. The game tasks you with finding the word of the day by showing how close other words you guess are to it. This is measured by analyzing thousands of texts to find similarities between words. How to play Contexto You play Contexto by typing a word into the text box—anything that comes to mind. When you submit your guess, it will appear under the text box with a number next to it and a bar that can be red, yellow, or green. The lower the number of the word you guessed is, the more it’s related to today’s Contexto solution. The higher it is, the worse your guess is. View the full article
  2. Heads up, climbing puzzle enthusiasts: A new game has hit Steam for you to conquer—and you won’t want to go it alone. Chained Together is the newest climbing platformer packed full of exciting challenges and difficult puzzles to solve as you climb to escape ***** itself. 3. Elden Ring’s highly-anticipated and critically acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has slumped from a ‘Positive’ score on Steam to ‘Mixed’ with over 31,921 reviews, with most lower scores complaining about the expansion’s notoriously high difficulty. Complaints range from “complete disrespect to the player” to the fact that the new DLC has “cranked up the difficulty up through purely artificial means,” with one player even declaring they “don’t think [they] enjoyed a single boss in the DLC.” The bosses’ health and damage have increased compared to the Elden Ring and higher ******* speeds of the bosses make it impossible to dodge them, some fans have suggested in their reviews, making the experience feel “**********.” View the full article
  4. Bungie has been quick to disable the ability to receive rewards from private PvP matches after Destiny 2 players uncovered a loot farming exploit that allowed guardians to get showered in Legendary gear, Enhancement Prisms, and even red-border Deepsight weapons for little effort. The developers disabled drops from private Crucible matches on June 23, sharing the news through a post on X (formerly Twitter). The team said it was due to “an issue,” which has since been confirmed as an item exploit used by players to bolster their resources and ******* collections. The method to the exploit was shared by several Destiny content creators including Cheese Forever, who went in-depth into how to best use the trick. View the full article
  5. Today’s LoLdle quote is definitely one of the ******* puzzles to solve in recent days. There isn’t a strong context clue (at least, not that I noticed), so some League of League fans might struggle with trying to think of their initial guesses. Who says “One touch, with *******… that’s all I need” in LoL? The LoLdle quote on June 24 is “One touch, with *******… that’s all I need.” The League champion who says this quote is Evelynn. 6. With the pro scene on pause for the mid-season break, Counter-Strike 2 players are turning their ire back to the state of the game, with some this week reporting a significant performance hit and a heavy FPS drop due to simple poorly thrown Molotovs. A CS2 player showcased the emerging Molotov bug in a June 23 post on the game’s /r/GlobalOffensive subreddit. While practicing with friends in a lobby, u/Pangolin-Individual showed just how much their game’s performance was impacted by throwing a Molotov and having it explode mid-air instead of landing it on the ground. An aerial Molotov has no impact on the game state; the grenade needs to land on a flat surface to spread its flames, but a peek at the FPS counter sees a huge dip—over 200 frames. 7. Kai Cenat has remained positive about Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC despite already clocking up over 620 deaths, claiming anyone who has suggested the expansion is too hard just has skill issues rather than any other problems. Ultra-popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat quickly returned to the world of Elden Ring for the DLC’s release this week, staging another marathon Twitch stream as he battles his way through Elden Ring’s first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. At the 32-hour mark he waded into a discussion that has sparked across the gaming fandom recently, laughing off suggestions the DLC is too hard. “It’s a skill issue. Put your big boy pants on, get out there, and go ******,” he declared (and hat-tip Dexerto for sharing the clip). View the full article
  8. Of the huge variety of mounts you can collect in Final Fantasy XIV, one of the more absurd and subsequently very popular ones is the Ufiti, a literal gorilla that cradles your player in one arm. The Ufiti ***** can be traded or bought from the Marketboard, but it’s usually incredibly expensive due to how hard it is to acquire. Barring the times it’s specially offered as limited-time rewards in events like Moogle Treasure Trove, the Ufiti ***** can only be purchased for 8,400 Skybuilders’ Scrips in the Firmament. 10. The next Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Unrivaled Tera Raid event is going to be centered around Sceptile, and it’s giving major Mega Evolution vibes. Seven-star Sceptile Tera Raids are coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet from June 27 to 30 and again from July 4. The Gen III Grass Starter will have the Dragon Tera Type, which sounds very intentional. Although Sceptile is naturally pure Grass, its Mega Evolution gives it the Dragon typing as well. 21. Welcome back to another week of savings! I know some of you are sporting a Shadow of the Erdtree hangover right now—because I've already served my time in those salt mines—so I'll be brief. Today is all about securing the cheapest preorders from the most recent Nintendo Connect, and PS5 hardware is uncharacteristically reduced for EOFY purposes. Make a play for a 'Station while you can, I guess? In retro news, I'm celebrating the 27th birthday of my personal favourite moustache racer, Mario Kart 64. What sold me was its first-in-series 4P multi, and probably about a hundred hours spent doing "winner plays on" 150cc VS. Mode and Block Fort balloon battles at a mate's house. 23. In an age of "community building" and direct communication between developers and players, I've always found it refreshing that FromSoftware is different. FromSoft sits at an imperious remove from its player base, and instead of communicating, disciplines us. While studios like Larian and Arrowhead have shown what you can accomplish by lending your players an attentive ear and friendly word, FromSoft ******** proof positive that the opposite can be just as worthwhile... 24. Iso is having a huge moment in VALORANT, going from zero to hero after several major buffs in Patch 8.11. With more players picking the duelist now, we’re encountering weird interactions between his ultimate and other agents—including KAY/O. VALORANT’s recent update, Patch 8.11, only made changes to one of Iso’s abilities, but that was enough to ruin the game and call for immediate nerfs in the upcoming Patch 9.0. Until those nerfs, however, Iso continues to make appearances in way more games than before. This rise in usage for the duelist has given us more opportunities to discover weird interactions his abilities might have with other agents. For example, players previously found Clove can be teleported across the map if they use their ult within Iso’s ult. View the full article
  25. If you’ve been delving into Elden Ring‘s new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, you may have noticed it’s had quite the difficulty spike from the base game. This has led many to rail against the expansion, including mega-popular Twitch and Kick streamer xQc. After a series of very public ragequits, xQC crossed the finish line of Shadow of the Erdtree today, and his thoughts on the experience after a staggering 614 deaths were anything but positive. If you’ve yet to finish the expansion, be careful: XQc played to the very end of the DLC, so spoilers for Erdtree‘s final hours are below. View the full article
