  1. Some Helldivers 2 players are unhappy with the bullet ricochet changes implemented with Update 01.000.300. Patch days have always been somewhat contentious within the Helldivers 2 community, often because of the introduced balance changes included with the patch along with the wave of bug reports that follow in the wake of every update. Its latest patch was, unfortunately, no exception to the established pattern, and many players have since flocked to social media to call for a quick fix to what appears to be a problem with the game's ricochet mechanic. 2. Despite a strong outing with Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth felt that he "became a parody" of himself with Thor: Love and Thunder. In general, I'm not a massive fan of the MCU - it does a few projects that I actually quite like, and Thor: Ragnarok is one of them. It's fun, the action is good, and I think it did a really good job of highlighting Hemsworth's acting chops, particularly with how funny he is. That comedy aspect is clearly something director Taika Waititi and Hemsworth wanted to double down on with its sequel, except it just ended up being too much (and that's ignoring the awful story). Now, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Hemsworth has shared that he isn't very happy with his Love and Thunder performance. "I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself," Hemsworth said. "I didn’t stick the landing." Overall the actor seemed to be quite stressed by the work he's done over the years across his career, noting he'd often be too anxious to turn down a big role, even if he might have wanted to perform in something like a drama or romantic comedy. "I’d been trying to muscle and beat things into existence for so long, out of obsession and desperation to build this career, and I was just exhausted. Read more View the full article
  3. Dread Delusion is a creepo-tastic open world RPG that positively reeks of King's Field and the Elder Scrolls of yore. Created by Lovely Hellplace and published by horror anthology specialists DreadXP, it's so far up my alley it's probably been mugged by some kind of hideous clockwork cutthroat - and yet somehow, I've never played the thing. I'll be rectifying that on 14th May, when Dread Delusion leaves early access. Read more View the full article

  5. Extraction shooters are slowly becoming mainstream, and I’m here for it. The Gray Zone Warfare is about the hyper-realism that Escape from Tarkov pioneered. However, like Escape from Tarkov, The Gray Zone Warfare has issues. Currently, the main one that’s been plaguing The Gray Zone Warfare is error code 0x0020004 Anti-Cheat ******* to Start. The good news is that there seem to be solutions since the problem is huge right now. Let’s go over them so you can become the apex predator. The Gray Zone Warfare: How to fix Anti-Cheat ******* to StartIf you’re coming over from Escape for Tarkov because of its insane new pay-to-win model, you may have to go through this hoop first. 7. Target launch months for Xbox’s first-party games coming in 2024 have seemingly been revealed. 8. Epic Games has announced plans to bring back the iPad version of Fortnite, but it will only be available for countries in the ********* Union (EU). In a post on X/Twitter, the Epic Games newsroom announced that EU Fortnite players who miss playing the free-to-play battle royale natively on Apple's tablet will soon be able to play it again. The statement follows a recent announcement by the ********* Commission that it now requires Apple to have iPadOS comply with the same rules iOS must abide by as part of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Epic had already said it planned to bring the iOS version of Fortnite back to the EU App Store thanks to the DMA. This comes as part of a wider effort to launch the Epic Games Store on Android and iOS in the EU, with Epic boss Tim Sweeney previously stating the company's ultimate goal is to become the "number one multi-platform software store, on the foundation of payment competition, 0%-12% fees, and exclusive games like Fortnite." At the State of Unreal event last month, Epic shared some new details on the mobile version of the Epic Games Store, revealing that mobile developers that use its third-party storefront would benefit "from the same fair terms" found on the main Epic Games Store. This includes an 88/12 revenue share, and developers can keep 100% of the revenue it earns by using its own payment system for in-app purchases. Fortnite was removed from all mobile devices nearly four years ago after Epic rolled out a direct-pay system in-game. The outcome resulted in cheaper V-Bucks for players; however, it violated Apple and Google's app store policies, with both companies removing the app from their respective digital storefronts. Shortly after Fortnite was banned from both app stores, Epic announced it was suing both companies, with varying outcomes. Since the removal, those who wanted to play Fortnite on the go but did not have a Nintendo Switch or a portable gaming PC like the Steam Deck were required to stream Fortnite on either Xbox Cloud Gaming or Nvidia GeForce Now. Epic has yet to announce a fresh release date for Fortnite on mobile. Taylor is a Reporter at IGN. You can follow her on Twitter @TayNixster. View the full article
  9. 10. It should go without saying that we all live in *****. A tin of beans costs £2, the Gulf Stream is giving up, and (worst of all) Blizzard wants $65 for a Diablo horse. If only we could return to those halcyon days before memory: The '90s. Things were simple then, with shared wares aplenty and an internet that was still young and warm and wild and free. Just imagine how many more microtransactions we could spring on those naive suckers before they cottoned on... Read more.View the full article

Hi-Fi Rush received multiple accolades at end-of-year award shows, including "Best Audio Design" at the 2023 Game Awards. 14. Razer, makers of various pretty good gaming peripherals and one deeply questionable face mask, have been slapped with a $1.1 million fine by US regulators after said mask was determined to have misled buyers over the amount of protection it afforded. Kotaku reports that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) took issue with Razer’s claim that the Zephyr, an RGB monstrosity released during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, could act as a medical-grade N95 respirator – it could not – and will allocate $1 million of that fine towards refunds for fooled, if colourfully illuminated, buyers. 15. Riot has never been very empathetic toward the VALORANT community when nerfing agents, and it’s no different with the latest Patch 8.08, which nerfs one of the shooter’s best agents, Viper, to the ground. As expected, players can’t wrap their heads around the changes. After Riot announced the patch notes for VALORANT’s Episode Eight, Act Three on April 30, players wasted no time calling the developer out for targeting Viper so frequently and “unnecessarily.” From lamenting Viper’s supposed “******” in the meta to accusing Riot of “unfairness,” the fandom seems to firmly believe the nerfs went too far this time. 16. Ok. So, yesterday Returnal developer Housemarque casually dropped a tease for a something to do with the game. As all teases of this kind must be by law, it was very vague, kinda artsy, and got lots of people talking about things that may or may not actually be a thing. Ok. 17. Xbox has just confirmed its summer showcase, and it sure does look like it'll be following it up with a Call of Duty Direct immediately afterwards. As announced over on the Xbox Wire blog, Xbox will be hosting its yearly summer games showcase on June 9, 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 6pm BST. As the post notes, "like our double-feature last year with Starfield Direct, immediately following the Showcase we’ll be airing a special deep-***** into the next instalment of a beloved franchise." The post is currently referring to this second presentation as a "REDACTED" Direct, except, it's almost definitely Call of Duty. For one, Gematsu made a nifty gif showing the Activision logo very neatly ***** over one portion of the screen that is redacted. And notably, The Verge says that according to sources that spoke with them, this Direct is in fact Call of Duty, so if you wanted to bet some money on it, you'd likely be placing a pretty safe bet. No word on what this particular Call of Duty title will be called, though a new ****** Ops title wouldn't be particularly surprising. The blog post goes on to say that this "will also be our first Showcase featuring games from our portfolio of studios across Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, in addition to titles from our third-party partners." 18. As expected, the hottest release in realistic military shooters right now, Gray Zone Warfare, has done quite well in such a short span of time. The tactical extraction shooter launched on Steam Early Access earlier today, and has quickly become Steam’s best-selling game. In fact, because the top seller list is based on revenue, Gray Zone Warfare has two entries in the top five. The standard edition at number one, and the Supporter Edition Upgrade at number three. 19. Microsoft has announced upcoming titles coming to Game Pass, and while the initial list for May is short, the offerings are rather good. The 2D roguelike Have a Nice ****** is available today on cloud, console, and PC. 23. As much as we like to cover the very (many) serious topics surrounding Blizzard’s Diablo 4, this story is not actually about the game, or even the Diablo series. Instead, it’s specifically about the official Diablo YouTube channel. If you play and follow Blizzard’s action-RPG series, you’ll have likely seen a few of the channel’s videos in your recommendation feed on YouTube. For the most part, the YT channel offers some nice insight into the development of the game, the usual run of trailers, as well as the occasional ***** into lore and story. 24. So you’ve just completed your big Fallout replay and are left with nothing else to do. Well, don’t worry, because here is a list of games that would be perfect to play after Fallout.10. Destiny 2Image: BungieAlright, so Destiny 2 doesn’t have too much to do with Fallout in terms of immediate aesthetics. One game is a post apocalyptic RPG, and the other is a sci-fi shooter that takes place centuries after a post-apocalypse. See, in actuality, Fallout and Destiny 2 share a few things in common and this could be the perfect game to play afterward. Sure you’re essentially a **** with all the abilities at your disposal as opposed to a lowly Vault Dweller, but don’t let that stop you.Now is also the perfect time to jump into Destiny 2 to get settled with the game to enjoy all of the content it has to offer.
