  2. *********'s Creed fans embedded into the Apple hardware ecosystem can rejoice, as Ubisoft announced today that *********'s Creed Mirage for iOS and iPadOS will arrive in early June. In a press release, Ubisoft revealed that *********'s Creed Mirage will be released on June 6 for the iPhone 15 Pro series and iPad Air and Pro tablets powered by the M1 chip or newer. This will be the most recent port of Ubisoft's open-world game since its initial release on October 5. This will be the first time an *********'s Creed game that was originally released on consoles and PC will be available natively on iOS and iPad. Although pre-ordering is now available on the App Store, Ubisoft has not publicly shared how much this port will cost. However, it did reveal on the game's App Store listing what in-app purchases would be available and how much they would cost, as shown in the screenshot below. *********'s Creed Mirage was one of four games announced for the iPhone 15 Pro series during Apple's Wonderlust event, where the company unveiled the iPhone 15 series. Most interestingly, that particular Apple event revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro series would be powerful enough to deliver console-quality video games, thanks to its A17 Pro chip. In our review of *********'s Creed Mirage, IGN wrote: "*********'s Creed Mirage's back-to-basics approach is a successful first step in returning to the stealthy style that launched this series." 5. Stellar Blade has been slowly overtaking the world of gaming, for all the right and wrong reasons. But, even with all the controversies, the game is seeing stellar performance as it overcomes Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Helldivers 2 with the best user Metacritic reviews of 2024. The game is currently topping the user review charts on Metacritic and trading blows with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Stellar Blade has a 9.3 average score out of nearly 2,000 reviews, whereas Square Enix’s revived flagship is carrying a 9.0 based on 3,360 player scores. Another 2024 heavy hitter, Helldivers 2, has also been toppled, though the margin is much wider as the extraction shooter has an 8.2 average grade. Stellar Blade has been the source and target of several controversies, mainly to do with the protagonist’s physical looks and an accidental reference to a ******* slur. It has nevertheless come out on top and is, as things stand, the best user-reviewed title of the year so far. View the full article

  9. Enlarge / CXC Simulations needed to come up with something special for Norwegian Cruise Lines, so it built an off-road racing simulator. (credit: CXC Simulations) [/url] Racing simulators keep evolving as graphics get more and more realistic while physical motion systems innovate new ways to mimic the sensation of driving a real race car. The task of rendering the controlled environment of a well-known racing circuit makes most modern sims a bit easier to understand, and the physical footprints of screens, seats, VR goggles, and motion systems continue to shrink. But now, leading developer CXC Simulations has unveiled a massive sim that offers a more embodied experience of off-road racing. The project began in partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line, but CXC will now sell the Motion Pro Truck to the general public, albeit at a starting price of $600,000. I visited CXC's headquarters in Los Angeles to learn more about how the wild physicality of high-speed off-roading translates to sim racing. After all, the company's most popular Motion Pro II sim setup typically features a compact racing seat, steering wheel, and pedals atop a small base platform, with the choice of one or three screens or a set of VR goggles. The Motion Pro II has proved popular since founder Chris Considine originally launched CXC out of his garage in 2007, to the point that his company now works with professional racing teams, enthusiasts, federal government agencies, the military, and law enforcement agencies on six continents. I tested CXC's Motion Pro II, which is equipped with three 55-inch screens, and Considine loaded me into a ******** SR8 racecar at the Watkins Glen circuit. The realistic pedals and steering wheel feedback, as well as subtle tilting at the seat of my pants and seatbelts that tightened under hard braking, all contributed to a fun experience. And as someone who typically suffers from motion sickness, I never felt any nausea creeping in—while appreciating how much the wraparound triple screens contributed to a sense of speed that other single-screen sims entirely lack. 13. Creators of open-world multiplayer farming game Farm Folks have issued an apology regarding their previous post about “******* physics.” The devs promised they would learn from the situation going forward, and that they “value the feedback of their community.” The community, however, reacted sharply. We previously wrote of the official Farm Folks X (Twitter) account asking players how much “******* jiggle physics” is enough, with several examples of female models with various physics settings. This upset many players who felt “alienated” considering the game is supposed to be a family-friendly title about farming. One user accused the developers of purposefully creating discord in light of the discussions surrounding Stellar Blade and its protagonist’s physical looks. The developers have now issued a response and apologized for their previous posts on April 30, to a sharp response from other X users who snuck a reply in before the discussion was locked.
