  3. One of the developers of Steam and Xbox hit Palworld has teased the release of a PlayStation version. Pocketpair community chief Bucky tweeted adding blue-******** hearts to Palworld’s existing ****** (PC), green (Xbox), and white (Mac) hearts. Blue is, of course, the ****** of PlayStation branding. With this context, a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 release now seems likely. Palworld I want to add more hearts, but not sure what colour would fit...hmm...how about.... Palworld Looks good I think! — Bucky | Palworld (@Bucky_cm) June 22, 2024 Palworld, dubbed ‘Pokémon with Guns,’ launched in early access form in January 2024 on PC via Steam and on Xbox as a day-one Game Pass title. It saw enormous popularity overnight, becoming one of the biggest game launches of all time. But it’s also one of the most controversial. Pocketpair has said its staff has received ****** threats amid Pokémon "rip-off" claims, which it has denied. Soon after launch, Nintendo moved quickly to remove an eye-catching Pokémon mod, then The Pokemon Company issued a statement, saying: "We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to Pokémon." IGN asked lawyers whether Nintendo could successfully sue. Player numbers have tailed off in the last half year, but the addition of a PS5 version would certainly provide Palworld with a shot in the arm. Whether Nintendo would greenlight a release on Switch is another matter entirely, of course. Meanwhile, Palworld gets a major new update this week, called Sakurajima. It increases the level cap, adds new Pals, a new raid, a new faction and boss, and a whole new island. This update also comes with Xbox-dedicated servers, something the game had conspicuously lacked up to this point. IGN’s Palworld early access review returned an 8/10. We said: “Palworld may crib quite a bit from Pokémon’s homework, but deep survival mechanics and a hilarious attitude make it hard to put down – even in early access.” Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. 4. Chained Together is a frustrating climbing game with you taking on impossible obstacles to reach a summit that always feels out of reach no matter how far you climb, but there is an ending in sight. It might feel like it goes on forever, but there is a limit to how far you can go, with the height of the world set to a specific amount. But how long is it? And how many meters must you climb to overcome the challenge? View the full article
  5. Blizzard has officially revealed why you should be excited about Diablo 4’s fifth season, and why it’s bringing back the PTR. In a livestream on Friday, the developer detailed all the major changes coming with Season 5, and unveiled a new endgame activity. For starters, the Season 5 PTR kicks off tomorrow, June 25. It will be available for one week - just like the Season 4 PTR - ending July 2. And just like that one, only PC players on BattleNet will be able to take part. Read more View the full article
  6. When game developers want you to play their game to the point where they suggest pirating, it really speaks volumes about their passion, and that’s exactly what happened with Slay the Princess. Thanks to Eurogamer for the update on June 22, Markipiler started his second Let’s Play live episode of Slay the Princess. Before the stream had even begun, the developers, ****** Tabby Games, reached out to players via X (formerly Twitter) saying, “For folks tuning in to the Markiplier Slay the Princess series— if you haven’t played on your own yet, the best viewing experience will be if you watch it after playing.” View the full article
  7. Elden Ring seems to have a thing for using stone coffins as makeshift boats, and Shadow of the Erdtree cleverly hides another in Shadow Keep—and we know exactly where it is. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is nothing if not consistent. When you have a game of the year original in the back pocket, it makes sense to double down on everything that worked previously. This means more bosses, weapons, armor, and, apparently, more stone coffins. View the full article
  8. Last January, Palworld made its way to PCs and Xbox, with millions of players flooding its servers almost immediately. Unfortunately, for PlayStation 5 users, it’s not available on the platform, but a recent developer tweet suggests this could change. Developer Pocketpair admitted it “considered” a PS5 release in the past but still hasn’t confirmed Palworld will come to the platform. An X post on June 22 by community manager Bucky has sparked new hope among players, however, with the developer seemingly teasing a potential release for Sony’s console. View the full article
  9. A dedicated Minecraft fan has completed the monumental task of building an enormous potato farm in survival mode, one that they allege is the largest of its kind ever recorded. Although that may sound like a bit of an exaggeration, this farm is legitimately much ******* than most would expect; a single look at this player's creation can prove that. This might be a rather strange accomplishment to recognize, but if nothing else, it does show that the Minecraft community still hasn't run out of bizarre challenges to give itself. 10. Bloodborne 2 is not going to happen, so why not try Graceborne, a great looking Elden Ring mod that seeks to overhaul FromSoftware's latest Soulslike. Most of you Elden Ring players are probably off having a great (or maybe even terrible) time in Shadow of the Erdtree right now, but there might be a lot of you who, like me, desperately wish that there was more Bloodborne to be had. Unfortunately, almost a decade on, the only expansion to the classic FromSoftware title was its single piece of DLC, The Old Hunters, with no sign of any kind of sequel. There have been rumours about a potential remake, remaster, or even a PC part, but nothing's materialised just yet. Thankfully, we have modders to help pick up the slack when it comes to gothic games filled with Eldritch horrors, and if you want to mix some of those vibes with Elden Ring's world, Graceborne is the mod for you. Developed by modder corvianNoctis, Graceborne is a Bloodborne inspired overhaul to Elden Ring, which aims to "turn Elden Ring's base game into a more grim and sinister experience through multiple means." This includes the addition of a whole bunch of items, including "22 armour sets, 35 weapons, 17 trick weapons and 5 firearms." Of course, it wouldn't be Bloodborne-like if there wasn't any **** parrying, which has also been added into Elden Ring through this mod, as well as the ability to quickstep when locked on to an ******. It's also night-time all the time, and there's Bloodborne style healing too. Read more View the full article
  11. Getting Leda's Sword in the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC requires finishing a large portion of the new content and progressing past a point where new players should not yet venture. It is a great end-game *******, but one that you will not be able to get your hands on early. In fact, this sword cannot be obtained until you have passed the point of no return. 12. Ancient Dragons in Elden Ring are no joke on the battlefield. Ancient Dragon Sennessax in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is an absolute house, with red lightning and powerful claw attacks in spades. Let’s take him down a peg. Where to find Ancient Dragon Senessax in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree This is a deadly mountain indeed. Screenshot by Dot Esports Ancient Dragon Sennessax is waiting for you near the top of Jagged Peak in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, specifically close to the Dragon Peak Mountainside Site of Grace. He has his own chamber about halfway up to the mountain, making it hard to miss as you climb toward Bayle. View the full article
  13. Despite an overwhelmingly strong reception with critics, Shadow Of The Erdtree is currently sitting at a ‘mixed’ review rating on Steam, with nay-sayers citing performance issues and overbearing ****** design. The Elden Ring DLC is currently metacritic’s highest rated expansion of all time at 95, beating out the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Blood And Wine’s 92. However, roughly a third of the 41,000 user reviews on Steam are negative. Read more View the full article

  16. Happy Monday all! Yes, I wrote that with total sincerity. We all deserve a happy Monday - perhaps video games can help with that. As you'd expect, Elden Ring's recently released Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC ******** this week's Big Kahuna, with no obvious mega releases in the offing to break its chokehold on the discourse, but I have dipped my latex-gloved hand into the gestation pools and fished out a few promising oddities. 17. If you don't like creepy crawlers, you might not enjoy the Romina, Saint of the Bud boss ****** in Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree. This rather disturbing boss is part scorpion, part centipede and will undoubtedly present players with a spine-tingling challenge. Unfortunately, there is no way around this, as Romina, Saint of the Bud is a mandatory boss ****** you need to beat to progress in the Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC storyline. View the full article
  18. Ok, so it's fair to say the current verdict about Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is that it certainly isn't easy, even in the eyes of the kind of FromSoft vets who might've expected to be able to breeze through without thinking. That said, as one streamer's busy demonstrating, it is possible to scythe through the expansion's bosses using just your brain. The streamer in question is Perrikaryal, and if you're unfamiliar, they're the creator that managed to beat the entire base game last year using a headset that measures their brain's activity and turns those bursts of energy into inputs for the game. Basically, they think in a certain way, their Tarnished does a certain thing - as you can imagine, it adds an extra layer of challenge to an already notoriously difficult game. Naturally, since Shadow of the Erdtree dropped, Perrikaryal's dug straight into a "mind control" run through it using their carefully-honed setup, and it looks to be going pretty well so far. While they haven't blazed through the DLC in a weekend like some folks, the streamer has already managed to beat the first two bosses. Read more View the full article
  19. Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has hooked players, but even veterans of the Soulslike genre are facing issues with its difficulty level. The much-awaited DLC went live on June 21, and players are still struggling. Many have reported they are getting two-shotted by bosses and are taking hours to progress. View the full article
  20. Destiny 2 players seemed to feel some dj vu after seeing the climactic part of the Fortnite and Metallica crossover event. A special encounter that took place during Metallica's in-game concert reminded many Destiny 2 players of the game's latest raid, which debuted alongside The Final Shape, the current Destiny 2 expansion. 21. Obsidian’s upcoming Xbox console exclusive, Avowed is similar in length to the studio’s previous role-playing game, The Outer Worlds, it’s said. That would place the RPG – which is releasing for Xbox and PC later this year – at a length of around 13 hours for the main story, and 26 hours including side content, according to [Hidden Content]. “The best comparison for Avowed in terms of scope is The Outer Worlds,” game director Carrie Patel told Game Informer, when asked how long the game would be. 22. Not many people know what to do when you pick up an eyeball, a sadly common occurrence in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. But the Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation are useful for a specific quest in the DLC. Let’s affix some eyes, shall we? How to get the Irises in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree The Irises are key item consumables in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, in the same category as Miquella’s Needle. You can use them on yourself to get fleeting benefits or debuffs. But we don’t recommend you do this. There are two of each and two NPCs you can give them to, so you’ll need all Irises if you want as many choices as possible. View the full article

  24. The Wall of Sparks is a new Ash of War introduced in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in Elden Ring. The base game is filled with different weapons, spells, and incantations. You can spend hours upgrading and trying out new builds. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC expands upon this by introducing eight new ******* types. These play differently than anything from the base game and are an exciting addition. The Ash of War: Wall of Sparks was made specifically for the new weapons. View the full article
  25. World of Warcraft players are asking Blizzard to rework Heirlooms before The War Within expansion launches because buying and upgrading them has become a huge gold investment with little to show. With The War Within slowly approaching, WoW players called for Blizzard via Reddit and the official Blizzard forums to make these convenient items relevant again. Given that leveling in Dragonflight has become fast now, the amount of gold needed to upgrade Heirlooms is absurd for most players.
