  11. Enlarge / One day, using pixellated fonts and images to represent that something is a video game will not be a trope. Today is not that day. [/url] SAG-AFTRA has called for a strike of all its members working in video games, with the union demanding that its next contract not allow "companies to ****** AI to the detriment of our members." The strike mirrors similar actions taken by SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) last year, which, while also broader in scope than just AI, were similarly focused on concerns about AI-generated work product and the use of member work to train AI. "Frankly, it’s stunning that these video game studios haven’t learned anything from the lessons of last year—that our members can and will stand up and demand fair and equitable treatment with respect to A.I., and the public supports us in that,” Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, chief negotiator for SAG-AFTRA, said in a statement. 12. The smash hit Xbox 360-era 2D side-scrolling hack-and-slash game, Castle Crashers, is getting DLC on Steam over a decade after its launch on the platform. Earlier today, developer The Behemoth unveiled Castle Crasher’s upcoming DLC, Painter Boss Paradise, during a YouTube livestream. The DLC will not only see an artistic update to its ensemble cast and weapons, but it will also let players design their characters using the Steam workshop. Paint Boss Paradise will also introduce a new playable character named Paint Junior, whom the devs describe as someone who can “vanquish enemies with the very power of their imagination.” Seeing as how the live stream is titled “The Behemoth Roadmap,” Painter Boss Paradise’s announcement wasn’t couched with a release date, though The Behemoth says it will divulge those details at a later date. We used to be enemies. We used to ******** the world around us. Now, we create! Introducing… the Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise DLC, coming soon to Steam! [Hidden Content] — The Behemoth (@thebehemoth) July 26, 2024 Castle Crashers DLC wasn’t the only thing The Behemoth announced today. In tandem with its yet-to-be-revealed release date tease for Painter Boss Paradise, The Behemoth also listed a slew of updates for its other previous release games: Battleblock Theater is getting a quality-of-life update addressing visuals, frame rates, and bug fixes on Steam as well as a console port for Xbox Series X/S.Pit People is also receiving a quality-of-life updateAlien Hominid HD and Alien Hominid Invasion are coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 While working on updates for our entire gaming library, we’re also prototyping for our next game! Ooooh, aaaaaah. Yep, that’s all we have to say about it for now. [Hidden Content] — The Behemoth (@thebehemoth) July 26, 2024 Capping off Behemoth’s cavalcade of announcements was a tease saying its next game is being prototyped. Little is known whether or not the upcoming game will be the long-awaited Castle Crasher 2 or if it will be a brand new game entirely. All the same, The Behemoth fans have a lot of gaming to look forward to in the coming days. In our 9/10 review of Castle Crashers, we wrote, “Castle Crashers takes the best elements of traditional side-scrolling beat-em-ups and adds lots of flair. There's some great humor here and some nice surprises that will please most. Of course, the most important thing is that it's a whole lot of fun -- especially when you play with friends.” Isaiah Colbert is a freelance writer for IGN. Heading into Bloomburrow Prerelease weekend, cards from the MTG set are starting to settle into an average market price. Card prices are subject to change daily, but they typically don’t drop or rise more than a dollar or two unless a major shift in the market takes place. Some cards, especially raised foil borderless anime variants, also don’t have an average market price at time of writing. I will update all Bloomburrow cards worth money after the global launch on Aug. 2. View the full article

  19. Devout Baldur's Gate 3 players are likely very familiar with the unfortunate story of Bing ***** so those who want to give the beloved imp a second chance can now do so with this improved mod. While he may not be a character that actually appears in Larian Studios' RPG, Bing ***** has become somewhat of an unofficial mascot for Baldur's Gate 3 thanks to a memorable performance by the game's cast during an actual-play Dungeons & Dragons performance before launch. His fate may have been tragic, but fans have never forgotten him. View the full article

But one of the strangest inhabitants of the area is a child named Oliver—and you’ll have to beat him in a classic game of hide and seek to earn a powerful reward. Oliver can be found on the northeastern side of the Shadow Cursed Lands inside a ruined house. 22. Once Human players have scoured its map for Deviations to help them survive an apocalyptic wasteland, and it turns out one rare collectible, Hug-in-a-Bowl, is bugged. Finding Hug-in-a-Bowl is tricky. Though some had luck finding it during beta periods, many have been led to believe it has a low drop rate. Even thorough individuals have struggled to uncover it at its Iron River and Broken Delta spawn locations. Rare items are nothing new for multiplayer titles like Once Human, but this particular Deviation has caused enough problems among fans to become a talking point in Steam and Discord communities. It’s been an issue since Once Human 1.0 arrived earlier this month, but it turns out there’s a technical hiccup keeping it from more players’ hands. We asked Once Human developer Starry Studio about Hug-in-a-Bowl and whether it was indeed a rare drop. The team confirmed that the Deviation is bugged, and they say a fix will arrive in an upcoming patch. “The team completed the check and found out the spawn is actually bugged!” a representative for Once Human said. “They added it to their list of changes for the upcoming patch and will fix it.” When exactly Starry will be able to fix the Hug-in-a-Bowl bug is unclear, but we do know that a massive update is set to arrive sometime in September. The studio offered a peak at its plans last week, teasing new PvP and PvE scenarios, map additions, and more. Like any patch, Starry will surely fix a laundry list of glitches players have been dealing with, so let’s hope a Hug-in-a-Bowl fix drops, too. Once Human launched just a few weeks ago and has quickly become a favorite among PC players. We’re excited to see where it goes, as we liked it enough at launch to give it an 8/10 in our review. We said, “Once Human combines simple but solid building and upgrading with some of the best, and weirdest, creature designs of the year to create a very enjoyable survival-crafting experience.” Michael Cripe is a freelance contributor with IGN.
