  2. Cyberpunk 2077's launch in December 2020 was one of the most disastrous in recent memory, but now, three-and-a-half years later, developer CD Projekt Red is finally done fixing it. Revealed in its latest financial results, not a single developer at CD Projekt Red is working on Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time in more than a decade. The studio breaks down the number of employees devoted to each of its many projects in each financial presentation, and while the Cyberpunk 2077 team stood 17 members strong on February 29, 2024, that final group is now nowhere to be seen (and likely migrated onto other projects). CD Projekt Red wound down the development of Cyberpunk 2077 after the release of its first and only expansion, Phantom Liberty, in September 2023. It came after the game-changing Update 2.0, which completely revamped Cyberpunk 2077 with features such as a new perk system and improved AI, and was followed by another big update in 2.1 but only minor changes afterwards. Patch 2.11 addressed myriad bugs and balance issues in the open-world role-playing game, while 2.12 applied a seemingly final layer of polish. CD Projekt Red is now looking firmly forward towards Cyberpunk 2077's sequel, codenamed Orion, and its myriad incoming Witcher games. In our 9/10 review, IGN said: "Cyberpunk 2077 throws you into a beautiful, dense cityscape and offers a staggering amount of flexibility in how you choose to take it from there." Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. View the full article

  5. Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 will be launching day one on Xbox Game Pass. This was announced via an official blog post on the Xbox Wire website, and while there's not a huge number of details on exactly how this will work, it's a massive move to tempt a new wave of players over to the subscription service. As for when we'll get these additional details, Call of Duty is getting its own little E3-style showcase on June 9 during Summer Game Fest where we'll be able to see the game in-action for the first time, as well as an Xbox games showcase right after where additional details may be shared. So if this news has raised your eyebrows at all, those are worth tuning into. We don't know what tier of Game Pass you'll need to have in order to jump into ****** Ops on day one, but regardless, it offers a wild deal to those who own either a PC or console. Being able to hop into a new Call of Duty for a fraction of the price is nuts, especially when you can just cancel the sub when you've had enough and save yourself a tasty pile of cash in doing so. The aim from Microsoft here is obviously to bring in longterm players, those who will stick it out on Game Pass for months and years and eventually eclipse the 60-70 dollar buy in that Call of Duty usually demands. 6. By far the most popular mode in modern sports games seems to be that of the collectible card variety, and NBA2K23 MyTEAM is no exception. Each year appears to add very little in terms of game variety, most leaning on a roster update and calling it a day. 8. “If it is the truth you seek, look in the dark,” says Saddam Hussein in the new live-action trailer for Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6. Featuring numerous real-life politicians and tons of cryptic messaging, the trailer is true ****** Ops in its full glory. Controversial figures from the world of politics, particularly those involved in conflicts around the world, are central to the trailer‘s theme. Former prime minister of the U.K. Margaret Thatcher, former U.S. presidents George Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton, deposed leader of Iraq Saddam Hussein, and former U.S. general and secretary of state Colin Powell all make an appearance (portrayed by actors) with comments on the nature of war. Mists of Pandaria Remix is in full swing, as World of Warcraft players are collecting Bronze with dedication and frenzy in equal measure. 17. After several rumours and at least one *****, the official Lego Legend of Zelda set has been officially revealed. The big problem with Lego, is that it's so easy to look at a set and think "gosh, I bet that'd be fun to put together, maybe I should pick it up." Why's that a problem you ask? Well, because Lego is ***** expensive, and this newly revealed Legend of Zelda 2-in1 Great Deku Tree set is no different at £260/ $300. And yet, ***** it all, I obviously want it because it's Zelda, and it's Lego, and it's the first Lego Zelda set! You can see a short trailer revealing the set below, highlighting the fact that it's a set based on the Great Deku Tree from both Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, with the option to build either one of the versions. On top of that, there are some great little pieces too. There are four mini figures included, one of Breath of the Wild's Link, one of Zelda, and two Ocarina of Time Links, the young and ****** version respectively. From Breath of the Wild there's also some very fun Korok and Hestu builds too, and from Ocarina of Time there's things like those pesky Deku Baba plants and a baby version of the Great Deku Tree. It's a really fun little set, and yes, I am considering contacting my bank so I can take out a loan to pick it up, why do you ask? Read more View the full article
  18. Microsoft has released the Call of Duty ****** Ops 6 live-action reveal trailer, and in it we hear from a few familiar faces. 24. The weather is warming and the snow is melting, which can only mean one thing: It's nearly Game Announcement Season and almost time for the best showcase of them all, the PC Gaming Show, which will return June 9 at 1 pm Pacific (4 pm ET/9 pm BST). The opportunity to share news about some of the most exciting upcoming PC games is always special for us, but this year's PC Gaming Show is a little extra special, because it's also the show's 10-year anniversary. Back when you could still tell people "merry E3," PC Gamer's editors noticed a big gap in the June press conference lineup: no show dedicated to PC gaming, which unlike the consoles isn't cared for by a single company. So we decided to make one ourselves, and a decade later, the PC Gaming Show is still going strong. This year, you can expect some reflection on the positively transformative changes PC gaming has seen in that time, but don't worry, we won't let the navel gazing get in the way of the world premieres, exclusive announcements, and developer interviews. You can expect over 50 games at this year's PC Gaming Show. We'll be streaming the show on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Steam, and Bilibili, but you can also catch it via one of our official co-streaming partners. That's right, you can watch it with your favorite Twitch streamer instead of us, and we won't even be too hurt. Interested in teaming up with us as one of those co-streamers? Fill out our form for partner content creators. You can keep abreast of PC Gaming Show updates via its official website. Last November, we introduced a second show to our yearly lineup with PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, which revealed dozens of new trailers and a list of the 25 upcoming games we and our panel of experts are most excited for.View the full article
