  4. Once you’re past the initial stages of setting up your farm in Solarpunk, your first task is to build an airship. The airship has many important uses, including the ability to visit other islands. Let’s find out how to build and then upgrade your airship. First, you’ll need to have an airship dock. Table of contentsHow to craft an airship dock in SolarpunkHow to craft your airship in Solarpunkhttps://embeds.beehiiv.com/a8d62108-86ed-4039-bf49-44877ba62c15 How to craft an airship dock in Solarpunk To build your airship dock, you’ll need three different resources. 40 Wood: Just chop down trees with your axe, and you should have more than plenty. Three Cloth: You’ll first need to plant cotton using seeds on suitable plots. You can then use the cotton to create cloth at the workbench. 20 Iron: First, mine iron ore using your pickaxe. Next, build a furnace that allows you to smelt all kinds of ore. When you smelt iron ore in it, you’ll get Iron. You’ll also need to use wood as fuel, so chop down some extra trees if required. One Crashed Airship Component: You’ll find plenty of crashed airship on the first island. You can salvage a Crashed Airship Component from them by stripping the parts. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you have collected all the materials, use the workbench to craft your airship. First, your vehicle will have limited scope when traveling from one area to another. 8. Only two days remain to take advantage of Sony's annual Days of Play Event with great deals on PlayStation DualSense controllers. There are plenty of colors that have been discounted, including some really cool themed limited editions. One such special edition in particular, the Marathon DualSense controller, is on ***** for $64 at most retailers after a $20 instant discount. However, there's one place where you can get it for even less. Newegg just recently opened up its own official AliExpress storefront. One of its very first deals it has listed is the Marathon Dualsense controller for just $54.05 with free shipping. That makes it more than $10 less than every other retailer. It's exclusive to the AliExpress storefront and you won't even find it on Newegg's own website. This ***** will likely end tomorrow, and may expire sooner if inventory runs out. Save 37% Off the PS5 Marathon Edition Dualsense Controller The Marathon limited edition controller mirrors the futuristic theme of the game, with highlighter neon green accents, informational text, and fractured decals scattered throughout. The design looks great purely from an aesthetic standpoint, so it's a worthy addition to your collection even if you don't play the game. The DualSense is modeled after the tried and true design and layout of previous PlayStation controllers, but it also packs in modern features such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone and speaker, integrated touchpad, internal gyroscope and accelerometer for motion sensing, and USB Type-C charging. This controller can also be connected to a PC in two ways: tethered with a USB Type-C cable or over Bluetooth wireless. The Dualsense is often regarded as the best PS5 controller under $100 but it also makes for an excellent PC controller, especially since PC game clients like Steam support the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. 9. Destiny 2 is seeing a massive resurgence with the release of its final update. Destiny fans have shown up in droves to send off the beloved sci-fi shooter. Although Destiny 2's servers will remain active for the foreseeable future, the game won't be getting any new content going forward. The game's final update was released today and at the time of writing, the game's 24-hour concurrent player count on Steam has peaked at 167,000. This is the highest Destiny 2 player count since the release of 2024's The Final Shape, the last paid expansion for the game, which peaked at 314,000 players. Some players have even been reporting that they're having troubles logging into Destiny 2 due to the sudden influx. Ahead of the update, fans were aiming to surpass the all-time peak of Marathon and ****** Destiny 2's servers to show Bungie/Sony that Destiny should continue on. They've already blown past Marathon's all-time peak player count of 77,000 players, and it seems the campaign has been successful in creating instability in Destiny 2's servers. Given this has all happned in the middle of the workday in the United States, it'll be interesting to see if this rockets further in the evening or closer to the weekend. Last month, Bungie announced that support from Destiny 2 would be coming to an end in June, which caught fans off guard as many were expecting more expansions and updates. However, Bungie has chosen to focus its efforts on supporting Marathon, its latest release which has failed to attract a significant amount of regular players and has resulted in substantial losses for Sony, Bungie's parent company. Destiny fans have been incredibly upset since the news broke, even going as far to demand a third game during Summer Game Fest. Unfortunately, Destiny 3 doesn't appear to be in the cards as Bloomberg reports that a new game isn't in active development. Additionally, Bungie is planning "significant" layoffs, although the company is said to be pitching and prototyping new games in the Destiny universe. The cost to make such a game is likely too high given Bungie's financial woes and it wouldn't release until the early 2030s. But stranger things have happened, so maybe Destiny 3 could happen one day. It just won't be anytime soon. Cade Onder is a freelancer for IGN's news team. 10. Vampire Survivors developer Poncle is mixing its laidback shoot-'em-up gameplay with one of the most popular anime out there for a new game called Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton. The unexpected collaboration made its debut at today's Nintendo Direct. With the original Vampire Survivors and this year's Vampire Crawlers now under its belt, Poncle is looking to Yuji Itadori to help fight off a never-ending army of cursed spirits. The first trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton should absolutely look familiar to fans of the studio's previous work. Instead of classic ghouls and ghosts, it gets a Jujutsu Kaisen facelift while still retaining that pixelated style and one-more-run gameplay that helped Vampire Survivors become so popular. It's a multiplayer anime spin on a tried-and-true formula, and you can see its Nintendo Direct reveal trailer below. "Players battle wave after wave of cursed spirits while competing against up to seven rivals in fast-paced online multiplayer matches," an official description for Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton said. "Choose from 20+ playable characters from the Jujutsu Kaisen universe and use simple movement-based controls with automatic attacks, where success depends on strategic positioning and timing. Players earn points by defeating enemies, unlock game-changing 'Rule Additions' every 100 points, and compete for the top spot in dynamic rankings. "The experience culminates in a final duel between the top two players. JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON readies for battle on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026." With more than 20 playable characters from across the Jujutsu Kaisen universe to play as, we can almost certainly expect to see loads of fan-favorite names. The trailer teased more than a few, too, including Yuji, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Toge Inumaki, Kento Nanami, Yuta Okkotsu, and, of course, Satoru Gojo. TBD on how robust the single-player offerings in Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton are, but its trailer at least confirmed that there is an offline mode with computer-controlled opponents. Its price and release date have not been revealed outside of Poncle's promise to launch before the year is out. In addition to Nintendo Switch 2, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is set to come to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Whenever it does release, it should help with the wait for The Culling Game Part 2 after the Jujutsu Kaisen anime left fans waiting for more with the end of Season 3 earlier this year. For all of the biggest reveals shown during today's showcase, you can see everything announced at the Nintendo Direct for June 2026 right here. Michael Cripe is a freelance writer with IGN. 14. Aion 2 is the latest triple-A game to include creator monetization through user-generated content. Aion 2, the sequel to the popular Korean MMORPG Aion, is slated for a global release in September 2026, following a regional release in Korea in November 2025. At Summer Game Fest Play Days in Los Angeles on June 7, GamesBeat sat down with members of the game’s development team at NC for a demonstration and interview about their plans for Aion 2’s impending global release. The original Aion featured a detailed character customization tool, but with no way for character makers to share their creations. Creators who wanted to share their unique characters with other players could only do so by sharing lists of parameters, which other users could painstakingly follow to recreate character creations. In Aion 2, character creators will be able to directly share their creations with other players — and monetize their sales through an in-game marketplace. “We feel that MMOs cover a wide demographic of players that like to do many different things within the game, but still be part of the same community,” said NC director of operations Daniel LaFuente in an interview with GamesBeat during the presentation. “One of those, we expect, is customization — that there will be players who get really good at this and make some really beautiful designs, and they’re going to want to be able to share that with other players. So, we’ve built that into the game.” Although Aion 2’s custom character creators will be able to sell their creations to other players in-game, Aion 2’s character creation marketplace does not represent a new revenue stream for NC, per the company’s chief business officer Seung-*** Baek, who explained that NC is not taking a fee or cut of proceeds from creators’ in-game sales. “We don’t want to take credit for it,” Baek said through a translator during the Aion 2 demonstration. “We want to give the credit back to the user who created the content.” The development team at NC built Aion 2 using a heavily modified version of Unreal Engine 5, and the game’s character creator provides an almost limitless amount of customization options. Andrew, an NC employee who helped pilot the demonstration, said during the presentation that he had used the tool to create and share an ogre-like creature that appeared remarkably similar to the character Fiona from the Shrek franchise. Other creators have already taken to social platforms to share custom creations that evoke characters like Thanos and the Joker. In addition to its creator-made character marketplace, Aion 2 will feature an in-game marketplace for cosmetic items — another feature new to the sequel that will act as a direct revenue stream for NC. The original Aion, which came out in 2008, primarily monetized through a subscription model. “The game market has shifted from subscription-based to the free-to-play model in general, and the team also wanted to get the opportunity for many, many users to try and experience our game,” Baek said. “It’s kind of hard to do it on a subscription model, because you have to pay up-front first — so having it as free-to-play breaks that limit.” The post Aion 2 will allow players to monetize their custom character creations appeared first on GamesBeat. 19. Triple-A game makers are finding success by taking cues from the rise of user-generated content. Although platforms like Roblox and Fortnite have brought in-game creator economies into the mainstream, a significant amount of UGC activity is occurring inside triple-A games like Battlefield 6, whose Portal feature allows players to build and share their own multiplayer experiences using an expansive sandbox mode. During a panel at GamesBeat Summit in Los Angeles last month, Battlefield global head of influencer strategy Mitchel Inkrott joined Creators Corp director of gaming strategy Henry Coxall and Loaded evp of talent Yoni Ginsberg for a discussion about how Battlefield’s creator-made experiences act as a marketing flywheel for core game, moderated by Luminate Intelligence media analyst Kaare Eriksen. “We’ve been working to spend as much time as we can understanding how we reach new players that are maybe coming to Battlefield for the first time, or coming back to Battlefield for the first time in a number of years,” Inkrott said during the panel discussion. “What we worked on together was one of the biggest activations that we did to start appealing to the modern content creator, the modern player, and the creators’ communities.” In March 2026, Battlefield teamed up with the gaming content creator TheBurntPeanut to launch Battlefield Portal’s first-ever custom creator experience, Shell Shocked. Although the experience resulted from an official partnership between Battlefield and TheBurntPeanut, there are no brand partnership guidelines preventing creators from similarly building and monetizing Battlefield Portal experiences without the game makers’ official involvement. “How do we build the game to be a better marketing vehicle from day one? That’s by inserting UGC systems in so people like Peanut can go ahead and build his stuff that he wants to do, even maybe potentially without Mitch in the loop this time,” Coxall said said during the panel discussion. “Some games are building these things and getting ready for the future, but right now, Mitch’s team are the ones that are running forward at the triple-A level.” Battlefield Portal is not yet a full-fledged UGC platform that allows creators to build businesses and monetize their content full-time. However, there are significant benefits to the platform for traditional digital content creators interested in dipping their toes into UGC, per Ginsberg. “The creators who I work with had an amazing time. Everybody loved it, and the content was very ******** good — they just laughed and won,” Ginsberg said during the panel discussion. “In the end, it was very well-balanced, which is the hardest thing to do.” A hallmark of UGC gaming platforms in recent years has been the relatively common presence of brand and entertainment IP integrations into creator-made experiences. During the panel discussion, Inkrott declined to comment on his company’s plan to allow brand or IP integrations inside creator-made Battlefield Portal experiences, but said that integrations in the game would have to fit closely with the DNA of the Battlefield series. “It has to really capture that sense of urgency, and almost anxiety, to some degree, when you’re playing the game,” Inkrott said. “I think that feeling has to shine through on anything that’s created around the Battlefield universe.” The post How Triple-A game makers are taking cues from the rise of user-generated content | GamesBeat Summit recap appeared first on GamesBeat.
