  2. This sounds like a nice move by Paradox to improve Europa Universalis IV. In October, four DLC packs will be bundled free with the game for all players. Read the full article here: [Hidden Content] View the full article
  3. Space Marine 2 publisher Focus Interactive has asked players not to spoil the game’s story as its early access ******* goes live. In a tweet, Focus published a statement calling on Space Marine 2 players not to spoil the campaign because “every Space Marine out there deserves the thrill of discovering the game’s story on their own.” “Together, let’s take care of the long-time Warhammer fans and newcomers alike by making sure everyone can enjoy the game without being spoiled," Focus continued. "Your fellow brothers and sisters will appreciate it!” Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s global release date is September 9, but those who pre-ordered any of the special editions get early access from today, September 5. (Check out Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s global release times to find out when the game goes live in your region.) Fans have pointed out that it will be difficult to contain spoilers when Space Marine 2’s effective release date is a full four days before its global release date. No doubt fans will be streaming and posting content to the likes of YouTube imminently. Focus has also been criticized by some for enabling full campaign walkthroughs on YouTube and Twitch from content creators 24 hours before the early access *******, meaning before the vast majority of players can get their hands on the game. If you care this much about that, maybe they don't let content creators stream the game ahead of time or offer an early access ******* for preorders of the expensive editions? Just a thought. Looking forward to the game — Hank (not Green) (@hankjw) September 4, 2024 Hilarious tweeting something like this when selling a version of the game with 4 day early access. — Cody (@CrapCody) September 4, 2024 No spoilers, but yet you allow this lot to stream on Twitch...????? [Hidden Content] — DeanoSauruz (@DeanoSauruz) September 4, 2024 Space Marine 2 sees Titus of the Ultramarines go up against the Tyranid horde as well as the forces of Chaos in a sequel that arrives 13 years after its predecessor. It includes a campaign that can be played co-op, a PvE Operations mode, and a PvP mode. This isn't the first time Focus has asked fans to avoid spoiling Space Marine 2. In July, Focus responded to the ***** of a playable build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 to say "it's disheartening that many of the surprises we worked to keep secret were spoiled." Last week, Focus Entertainment answered a number of burning questions fans had about Space Marine 2, including console performance specs and cross-play, and confirmed what fans can expect from Space Marine 2’s seasonal post-launch content model. Season 2 runs from October until the end of 2024, and includes a new Operations map, a new ******, a ******* difficulty level, a new *******, and various other improvements. 5. The Memorial Statue in Fortnite is an unnamed point of interest that ties deeply into the current Marvel storyline. It can also be tricky to find, but we’re here to help. The Marvel-themed Fortnite Chapter five, season four features Doctor ***** as the nefarious villain. He’s trying to build his perfect society at any cost. ***** has apprehended most superheroes and stored parts of them as easter eggs in his Castle. One in particular stands out among other Easter eggs, which reminds everyone of his beloved mother, Cynthia von *****. One of *****’s quests asks players to crouch near this location to get Doctor *****’s secret cosmetic. View the full article
  6. Right at the end of the first season pass in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is the Hagrid Papercraft Mask: a carefully crafted reference to a classic meme. Poking fun at Hagrid's infamously polygonal appearance in an early Harry Potter game on the original PlayStation, the PS1 Hagrid meme has been around for quite a while. Now, it can be earned by players willing to grind. View the full article
  7. There's a new Wolf Man movie coming out soon, in case you forgot, and since it's directed by The Invisible Man's (2020) Leigh Whannell, we were kind of excited about it, but our (supposed) first look at the monster's design has left us cackling instead of terrified. Via X/Twitter user SpeculationMatt, who seems to specialize in covering Halloween Horror Nights (that's an interesting niche for sure), we've got our first look at Blumhouse and Universal's Wolf Man's wolfman, or at least that's what we're supposed to get from this marketing kickoff, right? As you can see, the costume seems rather cheap, but that's not the real issue, as we highly doubt they're just giving to performers exact copies of the costumes being used in film productions. What's worrying is the design itself, which has little-to-no wolf features in it. I mean, that's just an old guy turned into a background fantasy character freak. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm a more convincing wolfman when I've gone two months without visiting the barbershop and don't get my morning caffeine. Read more View the full article

  10. Helldivers 2's third ****** faction is maybe definitely possibly probably almost certainly about to be released, as players report sightings of the mysterious menace on the game's Galactic War map. Development studio Arrowhead, aka the glorious government of Super Earth, are downplaying the rumours as usual. They're claiming (via in-game broadcast) that the fleeting appearance of a weird purple blob on the map screen is actually the result of fluids leaking from the corpse of a long-***** comms technician, stranded on a server farm somewhere. Who to believe? Ah, if only we had some means of shedding light on the reports. Some way of Illuminating the situation. Read more View the full article
  11. Earlier this week, things were looking pretty bleak for folks hoping to play soulslike Enotria: The Last Song on Xbox when it releases on September 19, as its devs announced that the version of the game for that plaform had been delayed indefinitely. Now, however, Phil Spencer and co have reached out, and Xbox Enotria will be a thing "ASAP". If you're out of the loop, developer Jyamma Games revealed earlier this week that it'd had to abandon plans to bring the game Xbox as well as PC and PS5 at release, citing a "lack of communication" from Microsoft regarding the Xbox submission process as the cause. Now, the studio has tweeted that things are back on track. "We would like to officially thank Phil Spencer and his team for reaching out to us so quickly and hrelping to resolve our situation," Jyamma wrote, "We would also like to thank our amazing comnmunity for al;l the support show in recent days. Your voice has been heard loud and clear, and your commitment has been heartwarming. Read more View the full article
  12. It’s hard to believe World of Warcraft has been out for two decades, but here we are. To celebrate WoW’s 20th anniversary, Blizzard is running a special event in November and December, and it’s a blast from the past. The 20th-anniversary event brings back Blackrock Depths as a raid, adds WoW Classic timewalking dungeons, introduces new World Bosses in Tanaris, and, best of all, adds a transmog set for every class based on the famous tier 2 armor sets from Blackwing Lair. Classes that didn’t exist during WoW Classic, like ****** Knights, Monks, ****** Hunters, and Evokers, all get new sets based on old themes. View the full article

  16. A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the Warner. Bros. Games’ “biggest priorities,” according to Warner Bros. Discovery’s chief financial officer— backtracking on a previous comment to pledge to live-service titles. As reported by Variety, during an interview at Bank of America’s Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference on Sept. 4, Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels spoke about the importance of delivering a sequel to the smash hit from 2023, but emphasized it will be “a couple of years down the road.” View the full article

  20. The new live-action Masters of the Universe movie has been in the works, in one way or another, for close to two decades, but with Amazon MGM Studios now teaming up with Mattel following the success of Barbie at Warner Bros. Discovery, it appears the project is finally moving forward. Now, Alison Brie's been cast in the major villain role of Evil-Lyn. The Hollywood Reporter shared this news, also pointing out that production might be starting sooner rather than later. The news arrives after The Idea of You's Nicholas Galitzine nabbed the protagonist part of Adam/He-Man back in May. The previous iteration of the project, which Netflix had been prepping for a long time, had the Nee brothers (The Lost City) guiding the project and Kyle Allen (West Side Story) announced to star in it as Adam/He-Man. After a full reboot of the project once it moved to Amazon, Travis Knight (Bumblebee) and his usual writing partner Chris Butler (Kubo and the Two Strings) took over directing and scripting duties. Given the source material, that's the kind of creative talent you want to get, but it ******** to be seen whether they'll be allowed to properly cook the stew. Read more View the full article

  23. World of Warcraft is nearing it's twentieth anniversary, which means players can expect a massive mid-patch update bringing many of the game's most legendary armour sets, dungeons, and bosses back for a limited time. On top of this, a whole festival celebrating the game is coming to Tenaris, which'll see players take part in mount competitions, outfit competitions, and pick up valuable rewards. Announced late last night through a roundtable video released on official World of Warcraft platforms, executive producer & vice president Holly Longdale, associate game designer Leah Hwang, and senior game designer Bret Cocking broke everything down. It's a pretty hefty update, moreso than previous anniversary events. Here's everything that's coming! Let's start with that festival, which according to the devs is a major part of the update. It's here that all the vendors for the anniversary will be present, alongside many of the more fun community-driven events. Fashion shows, costume parties, mount-offs, new battle pets and new mounts are all available here. Add on top of this refreshed timewalking vendors, and it's safe to say you'll be spending plenty of time down in Tanaris. Read more View the full article
  24. Bear with me on this, but I adore how swordfighting works in Dune. Ubiquitous wearable sci-fi shields repel any ******* that comes in too fast, so everyone has to learn this unique, overtly dance-like form of close-quarters combat where every thrust and parry is necessarily slow and considered. Picture it: careful judgments of your movements, weighing up the right time to strike, every measured jab part of a wider strategy that culminates in the *****. MOBAs are like that. Both in the fights themselves, sort of, where probing lunges lead up to bursts of lethality, but more broadly in each match as a whole. They’re map-wide ****** fights, where a thrust is a well-judged lane push and a parry a savvy item buy. At first, playing Smite 2 felt akin to watching on helplessly as my opponents repeatedly shoved their crysknives through my ribs. After 30 hours, it often still feels like that - but I am enjoying myself. Mostly. Despite Valve’s third-person elephant in the lane. Read more View the full article
