Whether you have already unlocked nearly everything ARC Raiders has to offer or want a new challenge to work toward, Embarks' introduction of the Expedition system is the perfect option to spice up your end-game content. Acting as a traditional wiping system in extraction shooters like Escape From Tarkov, fully embarking on an expedition will wipe most of your character progression, while keeping certain meta unlocks, such as challenges, maps, and all cosmetics. 4. Anime Weapons bring an interesting spin on the Arise Crossover-inspired Incremental Simulator games. Instead of summoning anime characters or shadows, you'll be fighting with different anime weapons like ****** Slayer Nichirin swords, the Samehada from Naruto, etc. Luckily, you can check them all out and more on the Anime Weapons Trello and Discord. The Weapons card under Misc. has them all listed in tables for each World. The table has both the NPC location who drops the weapon and the stats in base form and Star upgrades. Once you check out the Trello, the Discord is your best bet to keep track of all the new content coming up. 5. One of the core ways to improve your survival rates in ARC Raiders is to find unique blueprints, and there are some key steps to follow for maximum efficiency. Blueprints can be earned in different ways. However, not all of them are effective. Certain methods, like quests, only work once, while a few other options take way too long. However, there are some simple ways to earn new blueprints and improve your loadouts consistently. What are the best ways to farm Blueprints in ARC Raiders One easy way is to loot areas tagged as high-value. These areas are available across all five maps and are marked in red. They have higher chances of spawning rarer loot, which can also include Blueprints. However, it's pretty risky. Image via Embark After all, you're likely going to encounter a lot of elite ARC enemies in these areas. Additionally, you're not going to be the only one trying to get high-value loot. Other Raiders will be doing the same, and it can often result in PvP battles. That said, looting high-value areas is the most consistent way to farm Blueprints. The table below has some more strategies you can adopt when it comes to Blueprint farming. MethodBest StrategiesKill Elite ARC enemiesThe Queen and the Matriarch drop the best possible rewards, but it will require an incredibly coordinated approach, involving multiple Raiders. If you're in a team of three, it's better to go for the Bastion, Leaper, and Rocketeer instead. Locked RoomsAll five maps, including Stella Montis, have locked areas that you can open with keys. The keys are rare spawns, and the best spots appear to be the Ruby Residence and the Research and Administration building. Locked areas can only be opened with keys, and once you lock it from inside, you're pretty safe.Weapon casesFound very commonly in Residential areas across all maps. These containers typically contain better rewards, including Blueprints. Farming ARC SurveyorsNot my favorite method, but hunting Surveyors across any map can reward you with amazing Blueprints (based on your luck) Lastly, you can always try looting other Raiders. Of course, you'll need a fair amount of skill and great loot to engage in PvP, and there's always a risk of you getting killed and losing your inventory. However, you can get lucky if your opponent has a Blueprint in their inventory. You can even bypass the need for Epic items like keys if you manage to kill someone who has been to a locked area. 6. Running and sprinting is both the main basic mechanic in Uma Racing and the hardest and most important one to master for winning. Running is all about managing the yellow acceleration and blue stamina bar. I'll show you both how to run in Uma Racing and how to manage these bars with some extra tips. Table of contentsUma Racing: How to RunWhen to Full SprintHow to Spurt in Uma RacingUma Racing Running StylesUma Racing: How to Run Image by Destructoid The basic running mechanic of Uma Racing is starting to sprint by rapidly alternating tapping Q & E or Left & Right Mouse Button until your yellow bar reaches the white line. Once you're around the white line you can tap Q then E at a more relaxed pace while keeping your yellow bar around the white line. So what do these two bars and white line mean? As you alternate between Q/E or LMB/RMB the first yellow acceleration bar will fill up causing you to speed up. You will also see a white line on the yellow acceleration bar and here's how it interacts with the blue stamina bar: Sprinting below white line (Running): If you keep the yellow bar below the white line you will begin to speed up and run at a moderate pace once slightly below the white line. As long as you're below the white line you won't drain your blue stamina bar and you'll regenerate it.Sprinting above white line (Sprinting): If you keep the yellow bar above the white line you will begin to accelerate which slowly drains your blue stamina bar. If the blue stamina bar falls to 0, your character will decelerate as the yellow bar drops and eventually stop running as the blue stamina bar regenerates. Alternating between being slightly below the white line and slightly above is a great strategy for most of the game but not all (See below when to full sprint).Sprinting at full yellow acceleration bar (Full sprint): This causes your character to lean forward and run at full sprint speed which rapidly drains your blue stamina bar as above with the same effect. That's why I highly recommend keeping the yellow bar just below or slightly above the white line for optimal speed for most of the race. But there are exceptions as you'll see below. Related: Uma Racing Uma Tier List When to Full Sprint Running and pushing the yellow bar above the white line causes you to rapidly accelerate and reaching the top causes you to go full sprint and drain your stamina. So when should you do it? Here are the best scenarios: Start of the race: Doing well on the quick-time-event at the start of the race means you can accelerate faster than those who didn't do it well enough so this is one of the better times to go full sprint and score an early lead. Just don't overdo it and allow the yellow bar to drop down a bit so you can regen stamina once you see the blue bar reach about 40% to 50%.Corners: There are three corners on the map that trigger quick-time-events and doing well on them regenerates some of your stamina. It's a good idea to Full Sprint for a short time here since you'll get some stamina back.Final Spurt: This is the last fifth of the map just before the finish line, so set yourself up to use your entire stamina bar for a full sprint before reaching the finish line. This is the time to go all out. Image by Destructoid How to Spurt in Uma Racing You can Spurt by pressing R and you can only do it twice per match. Spurting stops you shortly before rapidly accelerating so you can use it to overtake someone or build your lead. The best time to use it is during full speed for maximum momentum. However, note that Spurting drains stamina fast so learning how to manage stamina before Spurting is crucial. For example a good time to use it is when your stamina is high or you have a no-stamina-drain effect from Uma abilities. Uma Racing Running Styles There are three running styles in Uma Racing and each Uma falls under one of these. They slightly modify how fast you run and your stamina usage. You can see all the style modifiers and Umas below but the basics are as follows. Front Runner uses more Stamina but accelerates faster which is good for early leads. Late Surger has reduced stamina use and increased stamina regen but runs the slowest and decelerates fastest so they're best at the end. Pace Chaser is somewhere in the middle of these two for a balanced playstyle. Running StyleUmas With This StyleStyle BonusesFront RunnerSilence Suzuka[Max Speed: +5%] [Stamina Use: +20% (uses more stamina)] [Stamina Regen: -10% (slower recovery)] [Speed Gain: +15% (slower acceleration)] [Speed Decay: -5% (holds speed longer)] Good for leading early but drains stamina fasterPace ChaserTamamo Cross Rice Shower Oguri Cap Daiwa Scarlet Air Groove[Max Speed: Normal (no boost)] [Stamina Use: -15% (more stamina efficient)] [Stamina Regen: +10% (faster recovery)] [Speed Gain: -5% (slower acceleration)] [Speed Decay: -8% (holds speed longer)] Balanced styleLate SurgerGold Ship Haru Urara[Max Speed: +7% ] [Stamina Use: -16% (very stamina efficient)] [Stamina Regen: +15% (fast recovery)] [Speed Gain: -6.5% (slow start)] [Speed Decay: +10% (loses speed quickly if not pushed)] Weak early, but strong in the final burst That's it for my how to run in Uma Racing guide. 9. Amazon has finally restocked preorders for Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy 7 Game Edition Commander Deck. It's just in time, with the deck and several other new Final Fantasy MTG products set to release in just a couple of weeks on December 5. Costing $99.99, the new version of the "Limit Break" Commander Deck offers the same 100-card deck you can find already, but with a download code for the original Final Fantasy 7 on PC, and a new promo card featuring the iconic shot of Cloud in FF7. The new lineup has been incredibly hard to come by since it was revealed, and preorders sold out within a day. Amazon stocking up with a whole new allocation is great news for fans, and you no longer need to pay inflated prices to third-party sellers. It's not just a collectible item either; the commander deck itself is absolutely fantastic, and actually dovetails nicely with Fallout’s Scrappy Survivors precon from last year (as long as you're happy with yet another bold RPG crossover). Limit Break is all about getting your creatures to 7 power to trigger additional effects from Cloud or Tifa, while minimizing equip costs to allow you to switch gear and keep opponents guessing. Reprint value is decent, too. Not only do you get Darksteel Plate, Sword of the Animist, and Fire-Lit Thicket, but Clever Concealment has some amazing new art of Cloud’s disguise. Thanks to its Final Fantasy synergies, Stoneforge Mystic has been shooting up in both popularity and price. This two-mana staple slots perfectly into the equipment-heavy Limit Break deck, tutoring out gear with ease, and the market has noticed, it’s jumped from under $20 to around $50 in recent listings. That’s some serious stonks, and it could end up being a smart long-term pickup. Check out the full MTG release schedule for this year to see what expansions are coming next, including Avatar: The Last Airbender. And for more Final Fantasy, consider picking up the 1-6 Pixel Remaster Collection at its lowest price yet in the early ****** Friday sales. Final Fantasy MTG: Best Chase Cards The set is the most popular in Magic’s long history, and has led to prices skyrocketing for collector’s items like the Travelling Chocobo range and characters like Sephiroth. Whether you're opening boosters, sorting through prerelease pulls, or keeping tabs on the market for trade value, it's clear this set is drawing serious attention. If you're curious which cards are in highest demand right now, either to cash in or just to see what the hype is all about, here's a few handy pointers on what to look out for. 17. Ubisoft has confirmed that its recently released Anno 117: Pax Romana includes a piece of AI-generated art, but says it wasn’t supposed to be in there. The game’s Steam page includes an AI generated content disclosure – as is required by Steam for any games that use AI during development – which states that “AI tools were used to help create some in game assets”, but stresses that “in all such cases, the final product reflects our team’s craft and creative vision”. Despite this, players claimed to have located a piece of AI-generated art, with one Reddit user sharing a piece of loading screen art with a number of tell-tale signs that it was wasn’t created by a human (such as deformed body parts). 18. Valve’s second big foray into first-party PC hardware isn’t a sequel to the much-imitated Steam Deck portable, but rather a desktop computer called the Steam Machine. And while it could go on your desk, Valve clearly intends for it to fit in an entertainment center under a TV—next to, or perhaps even instead of, a game console like the Xbox or PlayStation 5. I am pretty sure this idea could work, and it’s because I’ve already been experimenting with what is essentially a “Steam Machine” underneath my own TV for months, starting in May when Valve began making it possible to install SteamOS on certain kinds of generic PC hardware. Depending on what it costs—and we can only guess what it will cost—the Steam Machine could be a good fit for people who just want to plug a more powerful version of the Steam Deck experience into their TVs. But for people who like tinkering or who, like me, have been messing with miniature TV-connecting gaming PCs for years and are simply tired of trying to make Windows workable, the future promised by the Steam Machine is already here. 20. A member of U.S. Congress has now called out Activision Blizzard's use of generative AI in Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7, and demanded tighter regulation to "prevent companies from using AI to eliminate jobs." It's not been the smoothest start for Activision's blockbuster shooter franchise. When Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7 launched last week, players promptly took to social media to complain about AI-generated images they had found across the game, primarily focusing on calling card images with a Studio Ghibli-esque styling, following a trend of AI-Ghibli images from earlier this year. Now, in a post on X/Twitter, Californian congressman has Ro Khanna slammed the developer's move to AI to "extract greater profits," writing: "We need regulations that prevent companies from using AI to eliminate jobs to extract greater profits. Artists at these companies need to have a say in how AI is deployed. They should share in the profits. And there should be a tax on mass displacement." In a follow-up tweet, Khanna added that there should be tax reforms to discourage excessive automation, guardrails should be put in place to protect worker input before deployment — "not a Luddite complete ban" — adding "support unions and workers to bargain for workers' benefitting from productivity gains." When a commenter suggested that curbing AI investment could stifle innovation, Khanna said: "Innovation and technological advance is patriotic and good for humanity provided it serves people. So we need to think about how it is adopted and how people can still have meaningful work and independence. "A tax code that doesn't incentivize excessive automation, working input councils so AI is used for augmentation, rules so workers share in AI productivity gains, a plan to hire young grads who may less entry level jobs or to hire displaced workers, a tax on mass displacement and guardrails against them — all these a provisions to ensure a technology revolution benefits ordinary Americans." Last week, Activision acknowledged its used of "a variety of digital tools, including AI tools," in Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7, "to empower and support our teams to create the best gaming experiences possible for our players. Our creative process continues to be led by the talented individuals in our studios." Of course, this isn't the first time Call of Duty has come under fire for AI usage. This exact scenario played out back in February, when Activision admitted that it had used generative AI in the development of ****** Ops 6, including in a zombie Santa loading screen that angry fans referred to as "AI slop." AI isn't the only thing bothering Call of Duty fans, either. Last last week, players realized the story campaign has numerous restrictions tied to its always-online nature, with no method of pausing levels. You'll also be booted from your game if you're idle for too long. Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7 is out now. We've given the campaign a try and awarded it an 'Okay' 6/10, with our reviewer saying it's " a wild one thanks to the scope of its ambition, but the big swings it takes don't always land, leaving it an uneven step down from last year."
