  1. Not long after Larian released its official modding toolkit for Baldur's Gate 3, it took next to no time for modders to find out how to unlock extra functions that've helped get the ball rolling on the likes of custom maps and possibly full custom campaigns further down the line. Using a modified version of those official tools, one modder's now put together what looks to be one of the game's first fully-custom quests. Read more View the full article

  5. While I’ve been known to enjoy a few of them in my time, I tend to view a lot of more mundane simulator games in the same way I view sports games: Looks fine, but I could do this stuff in real life, were I inclined and also social and also vaguely limber instead of owning a spine with roughly the flexibility of a rib n’ saucy Nik Nak. 12. If you’re like me, you stumbled into the Deep Tunnels in GreedFall 2’s tutorial and seemingly got trapped. Well, I have great news: There’s a way to get out without reloading a past save—but you’re going to have to ****** the renaigse for powerful explosives. When you first enter the Deep Tunnels, you’ll hear cries for help from miners from a neighboring clan who have been trapped behind fallen rock that was caused during a landslide. After the dialogue sequence, you’ll receive a new section of the quest called A New Evil, which tasks you with identifying the cause of your clan’s poisoned water supply. This new leg of the quest requires you to ******** the wall the miners are trapped behind, freeing the people from their rock prison. When you approach the wall, however, GreedFall 2 will say you need to first find “powerful explosives.” View the full article
  13. GreedFall 2 is now out in early access, giving players a taste of what’s to come with the game’s exploration and combat systems. There are a few mechanics, like the keybindings and hotbar systems, that are similar to the first game but look remarkably different. The hotbar’s the display at the bottom of the screen that lets you quickly use attacks in the heat of combat. Your starting skills are automatically equipped to this toolbar and have bindings assigned to them, but when you level up and unlock new abilities, they won’t automatically appear there. Instead, you need to assign them to a hotbar slot. GreedFall 2 doesn’t tell you exactly how to do this, and it approaches the skill system differently than the first game, so it took me quite some time to figure out how to assign skills to keybindings. 15. There’s nothing worse than loading the LoLdle quote only to realize you don’t know which League of Legends champion said it. That said, if you don’t know the answer to today’s LoLdle quote, you’re in the right place for the answer. Who says, ‘One blade carries the weight of my past. The other, holds the key to my future…’ in LoL? The LoLdle quote on Sept. 24 is, “One blade carries the weight of my past. The other, holds the key to my future…” The League champion who says this line is Yone. View the full article
  16. In a long court case battle between X (formerly Twitter) and Cognosphere, a subsidiary of MiHoYo, the courts have ruled that X must reveal the four identities of those leaking Genshin Impact information on the social media platform. The California court ruled that, despite the U.S Bill of Rights First Amendment, which pertains to the freedom of speech, and California’s right to privacy concerns, X must comply with Cognosphere’s request for information about the anonymous accounts on X who are leaking Genshin Impact information as they are breaching copyright (H/T Stephen Totilo). 17. Riot Games has today declared a huge victory over imbalanced League of Legends matches that were filled with lopsided autofill players. It’s a big step for the developers as they continue to massage the MOBA’s matchmaking towards proper fairness. The latest swing at League matchmaking and its balance came in Patch 14.17, when Riot’s developers targeted side parity as well as matching LP gaps. The biggest slice of this change, however, leaned into solving autofill by levelling out how many appear in each matchmade party—a core objective the devs now seem to have conquered, with League balance boss Matt Leung-Harrison declaring the issue “effectively eliminated.” View the full article
  18. Two failures were one too many apparently, with four out of five players today departing M80’s VALORANT roster to enter unrestricted free agency. The only remaining member is Zander, but it’s likely only a matter of time until the 22-year-old follows suit too. Just last weekend, M80, the heavy favorite to break through Champions Tour Americas and make it to Riot Games’ franchising league, instead ran straight into a misstep at the final hurdle. After missing out on the VCT Americas League for the second time in a row, the end of the second division North ********* VALORANT roster now seems imminent. View the full article

  20. Streaming platform Kick has issued suspensions and bans to streamers on the platform who were involved with altercations at TwitchCon this past week, with xQc among the many fans slamming the site for not doing more to stop harassment at the expo. In a response to a post by Rod “Slasher” Breslau on X/Twitter on Sept. 23, Stake and Kick co-founder Edward Kraven said action was being taken against Kick users who attended TwitchCon with ill intent. “Twitchcon is an incredible event that brings together creators from all platforms, and we’re grateful to Twitch for giving our community the chance to participate,” he said, adding a few miscreants don’t represent the whole—but he’s beginning to sound like a broken record. 22. If you’re a nostalgic NYT crossword clue, today’s “Fare for Little Miss Muffet” undoubtedly hits the mark. That said, if you have no idea who this is or this rhyme, you might be in a bit of trouble. This clue is four across in the Sept. 24 NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, and if you’re struggling, don’t worry because the answer’s below. ‘Fare for Little Miss Muffet’ Sept. 24 NYT Mini Crossword clue hints and answer All three clues are homophones. Screenshot by Dot Esports via the NYT Hint 1: It starts with a “W.” Hint 2: It ends with a “Y.” Hint 3: It’s a form of protein. 24. Counter-Strike 2 players attending BLAST’s Fall Final this week are threatening to boycott the event’s media day, protesting the organizer’s decision to allow Astralis to sub in new captain cadiaN after the roster lock due to a seemingly non-existent “medical emergency.” What was originally thought to be a joke poking fun at BLAST and Astralis has been revealed as something more, with Liquid’s Twistzz, FaZe’s karrigan, Falcons’ Snappi, and Vitality’s apEX all declaring they “might” be ill for the media day tomorrow. It’s understood this extends to each IGL’s teams too, meaning half of the CS2 players at BLAST Fall Final could skip out on media obligations on the eve of the major tournament. View the full article
