Ahead of the full release next week, a ****** Myth Wukong benchmarking tool has gone live on Steam, and it's free to download. This will allow you to test your gaming PC and find the perfect settings before you play the full game, and I've been left impressed with the results that have come through so far, even though it fails to offer a peek at combat performance. I'm not using the very best graphics card you can buy for this testing, instead I'm using the same Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 that we use for general game settings tests. It's a great mid-range option in general and, based on this demo, it will make for a decent choice for playing ****** Myth: Wukong too. Read the rest of the story... Guild Wars 2 is one of those MMOs that feels like it’s been around forever, and with its fifth expansion, Janthir Wilds, launching on Aug. 20, it’s clearly here for the long haul. Janthir Wilds adds two open-world maps north of Kryta, introduces a new primary ******* type for the first time, and gives you a Warclaw mount with new abilities for PvE content. The feature I’m most excited for, however, is Homesteads—Guild Wars 2’s take on player housing. View the full article
On the surface, Ark: Survival Ascended's Aberration DLC may not feel massively different from the base game, but it has its fair share of significant changes. Ascended has seen the franchise's Scorched Earth and The Center updates upgraded for the remaster, but change very little. The most notable change, other than new dinosaurs, is the intense heat mechanic brought by the Desert map. However, intense heat tends to be the most disliked feature of the franchise and brings down the overall popularity of Scorched Earth. View the full article

Being a controller main in VALORANT ain’t easy, and having to use separate tactical maps for deploying abilities and pinging locations doesn’t make the experience any better. Thankfully, Patch 9.03 fixes the limitation for good. The Aug. 13 patch refreshes the special tactical maps used by Brimstone, Omen, and Clove, so players can now use the ping feature and deploy abilities from the same place. Simply put, you no longer have to open the global minimap to ping locations or indicate situations like danger or support needed—you can just do it from your agent’s minimap. View the full article

In Cult of the Lamb, you’re tasked with, you guessed it, gaining enough followers so that you can create a cult. While that sounds pretty tiresome and lengthy, the truth is, Massive Monster’s game doesn’t take long to beat. How long does it take to beat Cult of the Lamb? Knock knock, it’s time to play. Screenshot by Dot Esports via Devolver Digital YouTube According to How Long to Beat, if you focus purely on the main story without undertaking side quests, you can complete Cult of the Lamb in about 14.5 hours. If you undertake side quests, it’ll take you about 18.5 hours to complete. If you go for a completionist run, you’re looking at about 25.5 hours of playtime. If that’s not enough for you, you can jump into Cult of the Lamb‘s DLC, Relics of the Old ******, which can take between 4.5 and 23.5 hours to complete (depending on whether you aim for a completionist run). In what’s turning into a rather remarkable protest, Helldivers 2 players are continuing to let the game’s Automatons get closer and closer to Super Earth in the game’s galactic war. It seems part of the fun folks are having at this point is trying to imagine how Arrowhead and game master J.O.E.L might react if indeed the fighting does reach the divers’ home planet. As we reported yesterday, the inclusion of some nerfs to ***** damage in the Escalation of Freedom update’s changes well and the resulting discourse as to whether Arrowhead’s going in the right direction when it comes to its tweaks is what’s triggered this rebellion o sorts from players. I say rebellion of sorts, because it looks like the community’s still on course to complete the game’s latest Major Order. As of writing, despite the fact the **** front isn’t too far from Super Earth, with the planet Curia currently being the closest world to Super Earth that’s seemingly been all but abandoned to the automatons’ metal mitts, the current Major Order is still looking on track to succeed. Among the many, Gigery beauties of 2014's Alien: Isolation is that you save using an in-game, wall-mounted Emergency Phone - a maddeningly analog process of slotting a keycard into the machine and waiting for three beeps. Doing this requires you to stand upright in full view, with your back turned upon an entire space station's worth of shiny domed technology and guttural industrial noises. Delightful! Amongst the players harrowed and compelled by this fixture is Fede Álvarez, director of the 2013 Evil ***** remake, 2016's Don't Breathe and, most recently Alien: Romulus - the seventh and avowedly "back to basics" Alien movie. Isolation is the Alien experience that convinced Álvarez the Alien could still be scary, after decades of milking the creature's dugs for spin-off movies and making it share a screen with the Predator, the Pepsi Max to Alien's Dom Pérignon 1921. In possibly self-defeating homage to Creative Assembly's work, he's filled the movie with Emergency Telephones, turning them into a straightforward-sounding form of foreshadowing. Alien: Romulus director Fede Alvarez shared the 13 words of advice series creator Ridley Scott gave him on his first day of *********, and they're simple, but funny. There's been a suite of directors that have helmed the Alien series over the years, but it all kicked off with Ridley Scott back in 1979 with the original film. After the original, it wasn't until 2012's Prometheus that he directed a new entry in the series, again returning to the director's chair with 2017's Alien: Covenant, which is also the most recent feature film in the franchise. That seven year streak of no Alien movies is about to wrap up later this week with Alien: Romulus though, and over the weekend ahead of the film's release, director Fede Alvarez shared a post on Instagram which showed the message Scott sent him with advice for making the film. If you liked Longlegs, and you're a fan of Stephen King, then you'll probably be excited to hear about The Monkey. You wouldn't think that something called "The Monkey" could instil any kind of ***** in a person, but honestly, monkeys are pretty scary, and the monkey in question certainly raises a few alarms. Longlegs director Osgood Perkins has certainly found success with the horror film, leading its distributor to pick up another horror title that did very well on Kickstarter, as well as a new Steven Soderbergh horror flick too. And clearly Perkins has no intention of trying out any other genres for the time being, as his next film is the aforementioned The Monkey, which just got its first trailer yesterday - you can check that out below. It's just a short teaser trailer, set to some slightly distorted circus music, all while a toy monkey that plays on a tiny snare drum performs a little solo, leading up to one of the film's stars Theo James being covered in a whole lot of blood. There isn't much there, but it definitely sets the tone for what we can expect from the film. Read more View the full article
