A 4X strategy game in the style of Civilization 6, it sees players guiding their population from its earliest days at the dawn of humanity through to various possible futures, weathering crises and defining a national identity as time marches onward. Its publisher, Paradox, is also responsible for all time classics like Crusader Kings 3, Europa Universalis 4, and Stellaris. Despite these factors, Millennia didn't come out with its best foot forward, and struggled with technical and design issues. You have multiple ranks and levels of power if you join a royal family in BitLife.   12. Many gamers enjoy hearing about an indie game making it out of early access, a sort of limbo several titles get stuck in for quite a while. One such game is the beloved detective simulator Shadows of Doubt, which now aims for a full release this September. The developers announced Shadows of Doubt version 1.0’s release date in a Steam post today, Aug. 12, saying its title will launch on Sept. 26, a bit over four months since entering Steam’s early access program. This will be followed by console releases as well, bringing the game to owners of both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Given how the content of Shadows of Doubt has increased over the months and how substantial of a change the 1.0 update will be, the developers have also announced a slight price increase from $19.99 to $24.99 as of Aug. 23.   21. Some possible future Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters may have been leaked, including Kombat Kids Cassie Cage and Kung Jin. NetherRealms latest fighting game has been continuing the tradition of adding new characters after launch, with past MK fighters Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda Takahashi all joining the Mortal Kombat 1 roster at different points over the past year or so.   24. The original Resident Evil 4 is one of the best videogames ever made. Excelling at both tense action set pieces and a consistently entertaining horror comedy tone, the 2005 game is a standout in creator Capcom's body of work - which means a lot from the studio and publisher responsible for Dragon's Dogma 2, Monster Hunter Rise, Resident Evil 2, and so much more. Last year's Resident Evil 4 Remake may not reach quite the same lofty heights as the original, but it's also a good game on its own merits, especially with regards to its redesigned gunplay. Now, thanks to a randomization mod called Biorand 4, fans of its approach to survival horror fights can explore the game's systems even further, turning RE4 Remake into a brutally difficult experience.
