  1. Following the release of the free benchmark tool on Steam, we've been able to take a look at how ****** Myth: Mukong might run on Steam Deck, and the results are promising. The Steam Deck is still the best handheld gaming PC, despite not being the most powerful. The inclusion of AMD FSR 3.1 makes what appears to be a graphically demanding experience, based on our desktop results, a more manageable task for this handheld's limited hardware. 2. Keep your Unreal Engine 5, your ray-tracing, and your 4K resolutions - videogames have never looked better than Rollercoaster Tycoon and SimCity 2000. It's not about fidelity. It's the colors, the lines, and the intricate details juxtaposed with the playful abstractions of pixel art. Metropolis 1998 is a visual throwback, antithetical to the complex, realistic visuals of Cities Skylines 2, but it's maybe the most gorgeous game I've seen this year. A city builder in the classic Maxis style, and directly inspired by Chris Sawyer's epochal amusement park sim, with a new demo available now, PCGamesN speaks exclusively to Metropolis 1998's creator about marrying beautiful retro graphics with modern systems and original mechanics. 3. There are multiple Deviants you can find and use while playing through Once Human. These are helpful creatures you can use in combat or keep at your base to gather resources. One of the more difficult Deviants to find is the Grumpy Bulb. The Grumpy Bulb is a rare Deviant that only appears if you go out of your way for it, and there’s a low chance it could even appear for you. What makes the Deviant unique is how you find it, and if you don’t know the exact location to look for it in Once Human, tracking the Grumpy Bulb can be troublesome. If you find the Grumpy Bulb, it becomes an asset for you in combat when fighting hordes of enemies. View the full article

How to get early access to Concord Concord will have two release dates: Aug. 20 and 23, depending on which edition of the game players purchased. Image via Sony Concord is slated to launch globally on Aug. 23, though some players will have the ability to play the game a little bit early if they fork up the extra cash. 5. It’s time to restock on resources before the next main event through Monopoly GO Discovery Derby, a 30-milestone Leaderboard event featuring over 6,000 dice rolls if completed. Many Monopoly GO players, including myself, thought a Peg-E Prize Drop was scheduled to run until the next Partner event. But according to Monopoly GO wiki data miners, the Prize Drop is only running for a select group of players in various countries as a test. This gives all players a chance to restock on dice while continually collecting Stickers before the next main event launches. The Discovery Derby Leaderboard event is a 24-hour tournament. 9. If you want to treat yourself to the Microsoft Xbox Elite Series 2 controller but don't feel you can justify spending so much, there's a deal for you. Walmart has discounted the controller by $40 - putting it at its lowest price since Amazon Prime Day. The best PC controllers revolutionize your gameplay, with mappable buttons and triggers to make you a faster, more responsive player than you might be with even the best gaming keyboards. The Elite Series 2 Xbox controller from Microsoft is a premium option with a premium price, but right now it's discounted to $139.99 from $179.99. 10. Aside from being a game where you run around a shopping mall murdering the living *****, the original ***** Rising from 2006 is a clownish satire of sleazy tabloid photojournalism. It expresses this by way of its scoring system, where you earn "Prestige points" for snapping pictures that fit one of five categories: "Brutal" scenes of characters being slain; moments of "Horror", such as the spectacle of an approaching horde; comical "Outtakes", like characters caught in bizarre poses; moments of "Drama", such as people reacting to discoveries; and "*******" photos of women ***** or undead, which range from snaps of exposed underwear to close-ups of cleavage. The Erotica tag has, however, been chopped from the ***** Rising Deluxe Remaster, in what Capcom gingerly suggest isn't "a response to a changing cultural climate", but expressive of the view that earning points from such photos is not "an appropriate reward for survival and not a skill required of a journalist trying to stay alive". 12. Riot Games has designed a temporary PvE game mode for Teamfight Tactics called Tocker’s Trials, which is coming to the PBE servers today. After five years, the TFT team has designed a PvE game mode for players who are seeking an alternative way to play. Tocker’s Trials will drop onto the PBE servers on Aug. 13 and is slated to go live through Patch 14.17 on Aug. 27. The game mode is temporary and will only run until Sept. 24, but that doesn’t mean it won’t return in the future. Many people in the community are excited about the potential Tocker’s Trials has, especially from a teaching standpoint. And others are ready to tackle a Chaos mode option. View the full article

  16. The original Red ***** Redemption is still beloved by many fans, but not everyone has had the opportunity to experience the game in all its glory. PC players have been waiting for years for a potential port of Rockstar’s western action game, especially since Red ***** Redemption 2 has enjoyed a fruitful life on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Even owners of the Nintendo Switch have been able to experience John Marston’s epic adventure. Rumors of a PC port started swirling around earlier this year when internal files hinted that the game would be coming to the platform, but not much else has been revealed since then. Now, an accidental post on the PlayStation Store is making waves and causing these rumors to ramp up again. View the full article
  17. Updates are few and far between in Dota 2, especially if they’re big since Ice Frog loves to cook for a while before releasing any massive changes into the wild. Naturally, when a hero is particularly impacted, it can make or break their performance, as Tinker has proved. Tinker was nerfed into the ground this May in Patch 7.36 with numerous changes to his core kit and how he generally functions. His win rate at the time fell sharply to 33 percent and his overall state remained relatively the same over the course of the summer. While the Dota 2 hero did manage to climb back to about a 44 percent average win rate, he was never the same. But that all changed with Patch 7.37 at the end of July. View the full article
  18. Baldur's Gate 3 features dozens of magic items for players to collect and equip on their party members. Some of them have specific prerequisites in order to function, such as only working for a certain race or class. The class-specific items, in particular, are often very powerful, with ways to boost certain class abilities. Anyone who has played through the entire game probably noticed that some classes seem to get more items specific to them than others. View the full article
  19. Destiny 2 hosts its fair share of yearly events, with the Solstice and Guardian Games being just one of them; however, each event introduces new rewards, and this year, the Solstice also introduces a new bounty system used to reward Guardians with the yearly armor. In years past, Guardians had to complete the Bonfire Bash activity while wearing solstice armor, but this year, players must complete bounties and turn them in for currency rewards. Interestingly, developers did not choose to create an event Pathfinder under the new Pathfinder progression system; instead, they chose to return to tried-and-true bounties. View the full article
  20. I suppose it makes sense from a game publisher's point of view to remaster, remake, or otherwise relaunch your most profitable and highly regarded legacy titles. If people loved it the first time, giving them the chance to play it again, either totally rebuilt from the ground up or visually enhanced and tweaked for modern hardware, is about as near as you can get to a surefire hit. It's fine. I enjoyed the Resident Evil remakes. I love the Command and Conquer Remastered Collection. I even bought the new versions of Metal Gear Solid, despite already owning them on basically every console and machine that I have. But I'd like to see a change in sensibility. Like with the recent Star Wars Bounty Hunter re-release, rather than reheating the classics, I'd like to see more game-makers try to improve upon and revive flawed diamonds. ***** Rising Deluxe Remaster, which I went hands-on with before its September launch, is a good example of where a game both deserves and warrants another draft. 21. For a while the world seemed to be obsessed with Nordic noir, with TV series like The Bridge and The ******** becoming global obsessions. Similarly, detective sims have been interwoven with gaming for years - titles such as Discworld Noir, L.A. Noire, Disco Elysium, and Shadows of Doubt show that gaming and gumshoes firmly go together. So it's strange that it's taken until now for a Nordic detective experience to arrive, but thankfully Nowhere is here to fill that void. Read the rest of the story... View the full article
