The Anker Prime is the successor to the Anker 737 that we deemed the best Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally charger. It boasts a 20,000mAh capacity and 200W of charging, and it's TSA approved. Anker Prime 20,000mAh Power Bank for $89.99 Add a charging dock for $20 The Anker Prime is a sizeable power bank, measuring 5"x2"x2" and weighing in at 1.2 pounds. The big digital display provides you with useful information like remaining battery capacity, power input, and power output from each port. It has two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port. The USB-C ports can deliver up to 100W per port (200W across both ports) and the USB-A port can deliver up to 65W. The Steam Deck supports up to 38W of charging, the Asus ROG Ally up to 65W, and the Nintendo Switch up to 18W. The Anker Prime can charge all three gaming handhelds at their maximum rate, which means you'll be able to play and charge at the same time. The Anker Prime has a 20,000mAh capacity or 72Whr battery. The ROG Ally and Steam Deck both consume about 40Whr going from full to empty. If you factor in 80% power efficiency, then you should expect the Anker Prime to charge either gaming handheld about 1.5 times. The Nintendo Switch has a 4,310mAh capacity or 16Whr battery, so it can be charged about 3.5 times. As a comparison, a 10,000mAh power bank cannot fully charge a Steam Deck even once. The Anker Prime is TSA approved Spare lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be brought on carry-on baggage only. Power banks must be under either 27,000mAh or 100Whr in capacity. This Anker Prime is well below that threshold so it can be brought onto airplanes without worry. This is one of the best Steam Deck deals and Nintendo Switch deals available right now, and absolutely worth considering if you find yourself short on power all too often. Riot Games has announced it will be laying off an unknown number of developers from the League of Legends PC development team, while simultaneously pledging to increase the size of the League of Legends team. In a post to X/Twitter today, Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill shared "An Update on How We're Evolving League" in which he announced the layoffs, explaining that this "isn't about reducing headcount to save money." Instead, the layoffs are apparently occurring so the company can make "sure we have the right expertise." "While team effectiveness is more important than team size, the League team will eventually be even larger than it is today as we develop the next phase of League," Merill continued. "For Rioters who are ***** off, we’re supporting them with a severance package that includes a minimum of six months' pay, annual bonus, job placement assistance, health coverage, and more." Merrill continued his explanation in a follow-up post, in which he said that the success of a development team is unrelated to its size. "If we’re solving the wrong problems, more resources won’t fix it. It’s about building smarter and healthier, not just *******." Game Developer reports that 32 employees were impacted across League of Legends development team and Riot's publishing team. These layoffs come rather uncomfortably as League of Legends celebrates its 15th anniversary, which Merrill references briefly in the post "so that League continues to be great for another 15 years and beyond." They also come nine months after Riot already ***** off 530 individuals, roughly 11% of its staff, in an effort to cut costs after allegedly taking on too many "big bets" as a company. According to a games industry layoff tracker, this puts the number of ***** off game developers this year alone at over 13,000, with over 10,000 ***** off in 2023 and over 8,000 in 2022.
