According to new reports, Wizards of the Coast is working on a remake of Baldur's Gate 2, and there's also a chance that a remaster of the original is in the works, too, with the co-lead designer of the second installment returning for the project. These days, Nvidia primarily sells AI data center products, and its traditional consumer devices feel like more of a side project. But the company occasionally still releases something designed for consumers. After a couple of years of rumors, Nvidia has announced an Arm-based chip designed to power Windows PCs. Dubbed RTX Spark, the new chip combines a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU co-developed with MediaTek, up to 6,144 Blackwell-based GPU cores (the same architecture as the RTX 50-series GPUs), and support for up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5x memory. Nvidia and its partners offered nothing about expected pricing, but both "slim Windows laptops with all-day battery life and premium displays" and "compact desktop PCs" are slated to be "available this fall" from partners including Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Acer, and Gigabyte. This isn't Nvidia's first chip for Windows PCs; earlier chips in the Tegra series powered several of the short-lived Windows RT tablets. But Tegra chips largely stopped appearing in consumer devices following the Tegra X1 in the late 2010s (variants power the original Nintendo Switch and the apparently unkillable Nvidia Shield TV box). Modern Arm-based PCs in the Windows 10 and Windows 11 eras have all used processors from Qualcomm. Read full article Comments View the full article
According to a set of leaks, a brand-new Baldur’s Gate game is in the works at the moment, and it’s not the highly anticipated Baldur’s Gate 4, the sequel to the award-winning BG3. Following its release in 2023, the latest RPG by Larian Studios has moved fans to petition for a follow-up, be it a direct sequel or just a new game in the series. Wizards of the Coast, who own the Dungeons and Dragons IP, has already confirmed Baldur’s Gate 4, but the game will not be produced by Larian nor will it be released any time soon. The producer of Resident Evil Requiem says the development team has given thought to setting a future entry in the series in Japan. In an interview with Japanese publication Futaman, producer Masato Kumazawa was asked about the future of the series, specifically the matter of where and when upcoming Resident Evil games could potentially be set. Kumazawa answered that while the series has started showing characters like Leon Kennedy growing older, Capcom doesn’t have firm rules on the Resident Evil timeline, allowing for some flexibility on when each game is set. First-person RPG Fatekeeper is coming soon to PCs worldwide, and we can jump into a new adventure on June 2. The countdown is based on the following times. 10am PT 12pm CT 1pm ET 5pm UTC 6pm BST The times are from SteamDB. I will update any change in release timings if that happens later today or tomorrow. What to expect from Fatekeeper Fatekeeper is a unique adventure of sword and sorcery that takes place in a hand-crafted world that promotes exploration. You can enjoy the main story and the narrative-styled campaign at your pace. However, you can also explore different areas to find out hidden secrets. Fatekeeper also doesn’t follow a linear progression system. Instead, it emphasizes how you build your character and how they act during a battle. You also get to battle different enemies, and they have their own unique strengths and weaknesses. You’ll need to adjust accordingly and use gear items to your benefit. There will be plenty of different gear to loot. You can then use them to customize your loadout as required and create powerful combinations. Hence, there’s plenty of micromanagement available if you like that kind of element in a game. Unfortunately, there’s no demo to check the gameplay out, and you can currently wishlist Fatekeeper on Steam. /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post Fatekeeper release countdown: Exact date and time appeared first on Destructoid. If they act soon, Steam users can claim a unique 2D asymmetric co-op game completely free of charge, titled Linebound. Whereas asymmetric multiplayer games are not unheard of, asymmetric co-op games are genuinely rarer. What that means is that, while player A is completing one task, player B is completing something else entirely, but they are reliant on each other. Traditional co-op games like Split Fiction have parallel tasks; asymmetric co-op games have drastically different tasks. View the full article
An official Baldur’s Gate 2 remake is reportedly in the works at Wizards of the Coast. PC Gamer reported that it is likely that BioWare’s Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 will both get remakes ahead of the release of Baldur’s Gate 4. The publication said former BioWare developer and Baldur's Gate 2 co-lead designer Kevin Martens is working on the remake. There’s the suggestion both remakes will launch together. IGN has asked Wizards of the Coast and parent company Hasbro for comment. The big question here, assuming the report is true, revolves around the scope of the remakes. It seems unlikely we’ll be getting Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 remade in the Baldur’s Gate 3 style, given how long it would take to convert the thousands of hours of content both games offer combined into something in-keeping with Larian’s role-playing masterpiece. Perhaps Hasbro views remakes as a stop-gap between the phenomenally successful Baldur’s Gate 3 and the inevitable sequel, which has astronomical fan expectation to navigate. With Larian leaving Baldur’s Gate and indeed Dungeons & Dragons behind to make the next Divinity game, there are big shoes to fill — perhaps the biggest in video games. Baldur’s Gate was BioWare’s second game, releasing on PC in 1998 and published by Interplay. It did well enough to spawn a sequel, 2000’s Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, which like its predecessor took place in the Forgotten Realms. Both original games use an isometric perspective and pausable real-time gameplay, with the player controlling up to six characters. Could the remakes follow Baldur’s Gate 3’s lead and go for fully turn-based combat? Or maybe a hybrid system is in order. There’s plenty going on in the world of Baldur’s Gate, despite the long wait for a sequel. There’s a Baldur’s Gate 3 HBO TV show in the works, one that will continue the story from the game — much to the surprise of fans. There’s even a prequel novel depicting Astarion’s time in servitude to the Vampire Lord Cazador Szarr, an official Baldur’s Gate 3 cookbook, and a coloring book. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Each time Warhammer 40k launches a new edition these days, we get a fancy CGI cinematic to go with it. 11th edition's arrived weeks ago: a very traditional Space Marines vs. Orks fight vid, for the Armageddon launch box. But GW has now treated us to a second, longer "official cinematic trailer" dramatizing the entire setting for the new, high production value age. As you'd expect, it's frigging badass - please watch it below. But there's something unexpected buried at the end: a conscious, deliberate call-back to the ancient past, when 40k was an anti-war, anti-fascist satire.
