  1. The cancellation of an EA ****** Panthervideo game that was in the works is a disappointing blow, but the hero isn't down for the count when it comes to upcoming video games. Despite ****** Panther's popularity as both a comic hero and a part of the MCU, he hasn't had the same luck in the gaming sphere. The films released after Marvel had already cooled down on making mid-budget MCU tie-in games, so the more ambitious title in the works from EA would have been a major solo debut. 2. Zenless Zone Zero has officially revealed the suite of buffs coming to the game's first-ever limited character, with Ellen set to receive a plethora of helpful changes in Version 2.0. The next update to the urban action RPG is set to be one of its biggest yet, as the developer prepares to introduce the first major new district. Waifei Peninsula will not only feature more "open world"-like areas for players to explore, but also kick off the second major arc of Zenless Zone Zero's main story. Now, one of the game's most beloved characters is getting some big buffs. View the full article
  3. One of the best RPGs of 2024 is now available on Xbox Game Pass, for both PC and console, and now may be the perfect time to play it, especially if you're just finishing up Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Game Pass has been a big hit this year, with the aforementioned Clair Obscur, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Blue Prince, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, and several more. Game Pass's second wave of releases for May, though, has one title that stands even taller than the rest. View the full article
  4. Sloclap is known for creating the Kung-Fu brawler Absolver, which was then followed up by a partnership with Kelper Interactive for another Kung-Fu brawler, Sifu. So, as you would expect, the next game from the studio is an online multiplayer five-a-side football showdown (that being real football, not whatever the Yanks play), called Rematch—Fifu was right there... Point 'n' click adventurers eat well in 2025: every week there's at least a couple of interesting ones released on Steam, like last week's Kathy Rain 2, or the week before that, Neon Hearts City. 7. Baldur's Gate 3 is a game where the sheer number of choices on offer at times is mind-boggling. However, that doesn't mean that we don't all get stuck in a rut sometimes with our playthroughs, falling back on habits that end up making every trip around Faerûn feel exactly the same. These behavior patterns can be hard to break, unless you know to look out for them. View the full article

  17. Whether you're an Elden Ring veteran or Soulslike noob, Elden Ring: Nightreign is a daunting experience at first since it's so different than everything that's come before it. I've had my hands on Nightreign for some time now, and I'm still learning a lot about it as I play. But with some experience behind me, I've got some tips for you beginners who are looking to have an idea of what to expect or are maybe lost on what to do when starting out. Here are some tips and tricks for Elden Ring: Nightreign as you're beginning your journey in the roguelike Soulslike with battle royale mechanics. Table of contentsElden Ring Nightreign: Tips and tricks for beginnersPlot your journeyMove and level up quicklyFind churchesFind merchantsUse your mobilityOptimize your gearStick together...for nowUse those consumablesMaster one characterElden Ring Nightreign: Tips and tricks for beginnersPlot your journey Screenshot by Destructoid Get used to opening your map a lot, the same way you might in a battle royale game. The map shows you the locations of everything from Sites of Grace to Evergaols to POIs with bosses you can defeat for loot. As you're flying in with your team, note the surroundings around your landing spot and plot a course of what you will hit first while making your way through different areas, prioritizing things like Churches of Marika to upgrade your character. Move and level up quickly Once you and your team know where you're going, get ready to move and kill weak mobs as you do so. Clear out weak enemies for some quick levels at a Site of Grace, and then mark a new spot on the map to work together to kill a boss for some big power-ups or weapons before moving on. Rinse and repeat as each day wears on. Speed is the name of the game in Nightreign, because you're on a timer, so don't dilly-dally too much. Kill things, loot things, and run, especially as the night circle begins to close in around you. Getting caught in that storm hurts a lot, so be sure to keep an eye on your map and be ready to move at all times. The max level in each game is 15, which is ideally where you want to be when day two ends. If you can get there beforehand by spamming boss kills (bosses give 30,000 Runes or more), then that's great, but it's doable. I'd say the lowest you want to be is level 12 if you want a fighting chance against the selected Night Lord. Find churches Screenshot by Destructoid Throughout each expedition, you can find several Churches of Marika throughout the map. Like in the base game, these are important because they give you an extra charge for your healing flask each time you find one. If you spot one in the distance or on your map, make sure to stop by and grab your flask upgrade. Screenshot by Destructoid Find merchants Screenshot by Destructoid Merchants, like churches, are important because they sell valuable items like a pack that will allow you to carry one more consumable, smithing stones, and other consumables that will help you within each match. You can find these ghostly apparitions randomly around the map, sitting next to campfires like in the image above. Use your mobility Nightreign's mobility is way better and faster than the base game, so use it to your advantage. Make sure to use the Surge Sprint ability (L3 on controller) to move quickly, wall-jump to reach higher places or make your way around obstacles, use blue trees and their birds to "redeploy" into the air, and launch yourself at Spiritstreams. Keep in mind that there is no fall damage in Nightreign, so use that to the best of your ability and keep on the move as you play in each match. Optimize your gear Screenshot by Destructoid Yes, you need to move quickly, but you also have to occasionally stop to take some time and optimize your loot for your character and build to maximize your chances of success. Every weapon and item you find rolls with random abilities and buffs, so be sure to pick ones that suit your team and your needs best. Stick together...for now Screenshot by Destructoid While you become accustomed to Nightreign and all it has to offer, stick with your team. Seriously. It's very easy to get overwhelmed by mobs, so make sure to use strength in numbers to your own advantage as well. Plus, if you do go down and "near death," your teammates will be able to revive you and get you back into the fight. Once you become more comfortable with the game and level up a bit, it's a tad safer to go out on your own for some loot, but sticking together is recommended throughout each match. Use those consumables Consumable items like weapon greases and other items that buff your physical damage or damage negation can be found pretty frequently around the map, so don't forget to use them when you need to. It's worth it rather than dying and losing a level of progress. You will have the chance to restock some items before fighting the Night Lord on day three. Master one character Screenshot by Destructoid To begin with, I suggest sticking with one character to master. Try each of the eight classes to see which play style fits best for you, and then stick with it, beating bosses and unlocking new Nightfarer-specific Relics to make each expedition a bit easier on you. Once you've made progress and beaten a few bosses, feel free to experiment while progressing each individual character's story.
