Co-op horror games have been going through a revolution ever since Lethal Company proved that small-scale projects can be worldwide hits so long as they maintain a strong meme factor, which eventually got so popular that it is now collectively referred to as "friendslop." And while the term is generally overapplied, it certainly is a great way to describe certain games, such as Titan Hunters, an upcoming co-op tower defense title where you and up to three friends defend your castle against attacking titans (yes, that was on purpose). You man cannons, play around with the game's physics, and fend off these skinless giants whose sole mission in life is to eat you alive. Both in design and in premise, the game is blatantly inspired by Attack on Titan, even too inspired, I'd say, because the titans themselves do not merely share their names with the manga's characters. No, they literally look the same, outside of a few creative differences such as overexaggerated faces and eyeballs that lean more into comedy than the manga does. [Hidden Content] Of course, there are also other, more original titans, such as one ginormous chicken with glowing eyes, so it's not a total copy through and through, but man, if it isn't barely avoiding copyright claims. And the game is so self-aware that in its promotional screenshots, there's a player called "Slopaladin," actively playing into the inevitable "friendslop" label that is going to be applied to the game. Despite all this, the game genuinely does look fun, as Attack on Titan and its whole premise are so incredibly good that it's about damn time we got a game that is even remotely based on it. The game is yet to receive an actual release date, and I wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed even further by some sort of lawsuit or complaint issued by Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama, that is, if he's done drinking the tears of his fans who still cry about both the manga and the anime's endings. I, for one, never saw the ending as I stopped at the last film, so my rage is as of yet contained, though I have to say that the anime fell off a cliff after the first part of season three. Anyhow, I'm getting sidetracked. Titan Hunters' release is TBD, but we'll keep you posted if anything of note happens. Cities Skylines 2 has had a rough old time of things. A lackluster launch, marred by performance issues aplenty, alongside a dearth of content compared to its long-running predecessor, left it between a rock and a hard place. Despite efforts from simulation game maker Colossal Order to get it into fighting shape, it's been an uphill battle. Having taken over the mantle at the start of the year, the incoming Iceflake Studios has had its work cut out for it. Now, the developer has put out a very techy blog post outlining where it feels the big roadblocks to smooth framerates are, and is releasing a benchmarking tool to help gather data moving forward. Konami *** has officially revealed a brand new Steelbook for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. There is no word on whether it will be available in other regions at this time. Preorders are set to go live for the new Steelbook case on April 10, although no retailers currently have it listed in the ***. It is also currently unclear whether this is a separate release or part of a Steelbook Edition that will also include the base game. IGN has reached out to Konami for clarity and comment on the above. These days, it seems like every tech company and their corporate parent is looking to squeeze AI tools and features into their products, whether they're wanted or not. So when files with names and functions referencing a "SteamGPT" appeared in a recent Steam client update, Valve watchers took quick notice. From the outside, it's hard to tell precisely what form any such "SteamGPT" would take. But looking through variable names and references in the files themselves suggests that Valve may be looking to use AI tools to streamline internal evaluations of in-game incidents and sift through potentially suspicious accounts. Looking at the variables As tracked by the automated SteamTracking Github project, the term "SteamGPT" appears multiple times in three separate files first added in an April 7 Steam client update. In addition to the SteamGPT naming convention—a seemingly obvious reference to the generative pre-trained transformers made popular by ChatGPT and its ilk—the files include mentions of terms like multi-category inference, fine-tuning, and "upstream models" that point to some sort of generative AI system. In the cross-platform age, Nintendo exclusivity remains the hardest barrier to surmount. While PlayStation has brought plenty of games to PC, and Xbox has started releasing first-party titles on every console, anything traditionally associated with Nintendo is still unlikely to make it to other platforms. After a long ******* of being out of stock online, the Resident Evil Generation Pack on Nintendo Switch 2 is available once again at Amazon (see it here). If you’ve had your eyes on this stacked horror collection for Nintendo’s latest handheld, which was released in celebration of Resident Evil’s 30th Anniversary, it’s now available to buy at Amazon for $89.99. You’ll want to act fast to grab it, though, as who knows how much longer it will be available at the retailer. Alongside the recently released Resident Evil Requiem - a game we said, “successfully splices two separate strains of survival horror together into the one highly infectious new mutation” in our review - this pack also comes with Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. For Resident Evil 7’s Gold Edition, you’ll get the base game alongside the “Not a Hero” chapter and all other DLC. It’s a similar case for Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which also comes with the Winters’ Expansion and the Trauma Pack to have along with the base game, so there’s plenty to keep you busy. It’s worth mentioning that all of these games are ones we think very highly of, too. Resident Evil Requiem landed with a 9/10 score in its review this year, while Village earned an 8/10 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard earned a 7.7/10 in their respective reviews. We called Village "a genuinely engrossing and increasingly combat-heavy continuation of the Ethan Winters story", while Biohazard is one we said is "a fresh take on the Resident Evil series that fondly recalls the classics even as it takes a bold new direction" when it released back in 2017. Personally, I’m a very big fan of all three of these Resident Evil games, and being able to take this terrifying trio with you on-the-go to play on Switch 2 is a fun way to experience them. Again, this collection may not be in stock for long at Amazon, so it’s worth it to pick it up now in case it sells out again. We’re still talking about Skyrim in 2026. While Bethesda continues (or maybe even starts) to chug along on Elder Scrolls 6, I am one of many who find themselves going back to the 2011 classic. Or, at the very least, still watching video essays about it. Bethesda quickly caught on to the power of its own lore, releasing a series of hardcover ‘Skyrim Library’ books between 2015 and 2017. The full set of all three volumes normally costs $110, but a new Amazon deal has dropped that price by 45%, down to just $68. Skyrim Library Drops to Lowest Price This Year The Skyrim Library collects pretty much every single book in the game. Yes, even The Lusty Argonian Maid. The texts themselves are complemented by concept art and original illustrations, providing a beautiful one-stop shop for tons of Skyrim lore. The books are organized across three hardcover volumes by theme: Volume I: The HistoriesVolume II: Man, Mer, and BeastVolume III: The Arcane Volume 1 collects most of the historical lore books from the province of Skyrim, with some context from across Tamriel. Volume 2 digs deeper into the province’s creatures, races, and factions, while Volume 3 is all about the magic. For the decor-minded, all three volumes are beautiful on their own, with simple artwork reminiscent of the books you find throughout the game. As a package, however, they come in a “deluxe” slipcover case, with stone-textured art that opens to reveal an illustration of Alduin. Amazon isn’t shy about discounting these books, but this is still the lowest price we’ve seen since the retailer's last Spring *****. What's Going on With Elder Scrolls 6? On the Elder Scrolls 6 front, Bethesda technically announced the sequel all the way back in 2018. However, Todd Howard kind of wants you to forget about that. The studio has been primarily focused on Starfield and Fallout for the past couple of years, and most of the team was only moved to Elder Scrolls as of February 2026. That said, Howard did claim the game was playable, though "still a long way off.” In the meantime, The Elder Scrolls Online has continued to get plenty of new updates, having recently kicked off Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk. 21 months, 800,000 players, and more than 1,800 optimizations and improvements later, Soulmask 1.0 is here. The colossal open-world sandbox is one of the most packed survival games I've seen, and it just got even ******* with its exit from Early Access and the launch of its Shifting Sands DLC. If you're worried that essentially a day-one paid expansion sounds a bit much to ask, don't worry; Campfire Studio is giving the Ancient Egyptian adventure away for free to all players who already own the game or buy it at any point within the first month of 1.0.
