It's almost time for Summer Game Fest, Geoff Keighley's annual summer showcase packed with game reveals, new trailers, and fresh updates on upcoming titles. The two-hour livestream kicks off Friday, June 5, at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 9pm GMT, and we'll have live updates below, reporting on everything you need to know as it happens direct from Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. We're hoping for a big one this year, following Sony's State of Play earlier this week. But what should we expect to see? Well, there's one game we know will be at Summer Game Fest: Star Wars: Zero Company, the X-COM-inspired take on a galaxy far, far away. A new gameplay trailer is due for that. We also know Guild Wars, NCsoft's MMORPG series, will be at Summer Game Fest in some capacity. Could we finally see a Guild Wars 3 announcement? Clutch, the new open-world driving game from former Forza Horizon developers, will be at the show, as will Epic Games with a new trailer for the upcoming season of Fortnite. And the newly formed Paramount Games Studio will announce its first game, which, according to Variety, is a AAA title, during Summer Game Fest. There are all sorts of rumors floating around about other games that may turn up at Summer Game Fest, but one game I'm pretty confident won't be at the show is Grand Theft Auto 6. Let's be honest, Rockstar Games plays by its own rules. If and when it decides to release a new trailer for the game, it'll do so on its own terms (and probably on some random Tuesday or something). While we wait for Summer Game Fest to start, let us know in the comments which games you hope to see at the show! Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. The next entry in PlayStation's Horizon franchise might be right around the corner, as NCSoft has announced plans to see its MMORPG spin-off, Horizon Steel Frontiers, launch in the first half of 2027. The publisher announced the news in its latest Investor Relations PowerPoint presentation. Buried on a slide detailing its upcoming game pipeline, Horizon Steel Frontiers can be seen leading its portfolio with plans to launch in the first half of next year. Should the release timeline stick, it'll mean Sony's franchise could receive its next installment in as soon as one year. Meanwhile, PlayStation and developer Guerrilla Games' other multiplayer offshoot, Horizon Hunters Gathering, still remains without a release date. While Guerrilla's game is still searching for a place on the calendar to bring PC and PlayStation 5 players tactical co-op action, NCSoft has promised that Horizon Steel Frontiers will be a mobile-first experience that will introduce fans to an MMO take on the series. Announced in November 2025, this is a multiplayer-centric experience that seems to put Aloy's story on the back burner to follow machine hunters in the Deadlands. Players will work with and against one another, with its reveal video showing some of the Monster Hunter-like action to expect. Although the MMORPG spin-off is being developed with mobile devices in mind, PC players will also be able to play through NCSoft’s game platform, Purple. PlayStation started its Horizon franchise with Horizon Zero Dawn for the PS4 in 2017. Its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, followed in 2022, and the franchise has exploded with new entries since. Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a VR game, launched in 2023, with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and Lego Horizon Adventures then both launching in 2024. Horizon Hunters Gathering and Horizon Steel Frontiers are only the latest games to expand on Sony's growing franchise. While we wait to see when exactly the latter will launch, you can read IGN's full breakdown for its reveal trailer. You can also check out our interview with NCSoft to learn more about its connections to the franchise and its gameplay. Michael Cripe is a freelance writer with IGN. There are so many games that get released on Steam each day that it's become a little cliche to even mention it. And while I love the sheer variety of games on the platform, it gets really hard to find the games that I actually want to play. One of the ways I've typically got around that is through the Steam Discovery ******. That system debuted all the way back in 2014, and even now, 12 years later, I still find myself clicking through my Discovery ****** whenever I'm bored at home. The problem, though, is that those queues have a tendency to shove games in my face that I'd never in a million years have any interest in playing. Valve recently pushed a store update that finally includes the personalized calendars it teased all the way back in October. Functionally, these are very similar to the Discovery ******, but are instead focused on new releases, rather than just surfacing hidden 'gems' from the Steam store. As for how Valve is deciding which games to put onto the calendar, the answer of course comes down to data. According to Valve's Steam Labs blog about the feature, the calendar will be populated based on your 'playtime profile'. Basically, based on the games you play the most, Valve's algorithm will gather up games that similar players play the most and give you a heads up when they're coming out. Importantly, this isn't based on the games you buy. I don't know about you, but I buy dozens of games on Steam that I never actually play, and so I wouldn't necessarily want my recommendations to be filled with games based on that. Instead, the recommendations seem to revolve around the type of games that I'll get lost in for hours. And, at least based on a quick glance at my calendar page, filled with lengthy RPGs and weird Rogue-lites, Valve's nailed it. Just like with any system like this, the longevity is going to depend on how reliably it can surface games that people actually care about. Valve does have a pretty good track record, but over the last decade, I've known plenty of people who have pretty much forgotten that the discovery ****** even existed. But, at least Valve has put it smack dab in the middle of the new Store home page, so it's at least pretty hard to miss for now. This update comes at around the same time that Valve has reiterated its Verified program for the Steam Machine, which might actually come out sometime this Summer. It's also available on the Steam Deck, which had a huge price increase last month. Jackie Thomas is the Hardware and Buying Guides Editor at IGN and the PC components queen. Gothic 1 Remake is now available on PC and consoles, and it recreates the classic Valley of the Mines in a modernized way. However, you’ll need to make some tweaks if you’re on PC to get the best possible results. I have already encountered stutters, but thankfully, changing a few settings solved the problem. Let’s find out how to get the best possible results on your system and avoid lags at all costs. Best Gothic 1 Remake graphics settingshttps://embeds.beehiiv.com/a8d62108-86ed-4039-bf49-44877ba62c15 Before I dive deep into the settings, here’s my current setup. 32 GB of DDR4 RAM AMD Ryzen 7 5700X AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB Image via THQ Nordic My system requirements are comfortably over the recommended specifications. However, I still encountered stutters in a few areas. Thankfully, the following settings will help you enjoy the best gameplay. Furthermore, I have focused the settings to ensure that devices on the lower end of the power curve can run Gothic 1 Remake. If your system is strong and meets the recommended settings, chances are that you won’t need to make many changes. Display mode: Fullscreen Resolution: Go with the native resolution of your monitor VSync: Turn this on if you’re suffering stutters. Enabling VSync will limit the FPS, but the results would be smoother. Frame rate limit: 60 FPS is a sweet spot for now. This is an RPG, where you truly don’t need to go above 60 FPS as long as there are no fluctuations. Gamma: 2.2 Field of View: 75 Motion Blur Intensity: 0 (I hate Motion Blur) Bloom Intensity: 100 Depth of Field Intensity: 100 Ambient Occlusion Intensity: 100 Sharpening Intensity: 100 (Reduce this if you encounter lags) Saturation: Default Contrast: Default Brightness: Default Upscaler: Off (If you’re getting less than sufficient frames, turn this on. This will reduce the visual fidelity to some extent, but the gameplay will improve significantly). Quality Preset: Custom View Distance Quality: Medium Anti-Aliasing Quality: Medium Shadow Quality: Low (spending GPU resources on shadows makes little sense) Reflection Quality: Low (Same logic as Shadow Quality) Post-processing Quality: Medium Texture Quality: Medium Effects Quality: Medium Foliage Quality: Low Shading Quality: Medium Landscape Quality: Low /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post Best Gothic 1 Remake graphics settings for no lag and max FPS appeared first on Destructoid. With June 5 finally here and SGF almost ready to begin, speculations are running rampant. Now, it appears one game in particular has all but been confirmed, as a new domain registration coupled with a teaser from a couple of days ago more or less solidifies the claim that yes, Guild Wars 3 is almost here. According to X user lucynavt, a new domain for Guild Wars 3 has been registered, i.e., guildwars3.com. While some may immediately jump to the conclusion that this could be a third party grabbing a domain name before the actual publisher, lucynavt explained that both guildwars2.com, the official website for the latest game in the series, and this new domain share name servers rented out from Amazon Web Services. The Guild Wars 3 ([Hidden Content]) domain has been updated just now. It now points to awsdns, which are web servers of Amazon Web Services For comparision Guild Wars 2 domain is also parked on same name servers. WE ARE GETTING GUILD WARS 3 [Hidden Content] — lucy (@lucynavt) June 5, 2026 [Hidden Content] This all but confirms the imminent announcement of Guild Wars 3, the long-awaited third mainline game in this long-running MMO series. The previous title, Guild Wars 2, came out 14 years ago, and while it has received numerous updates and expansions over the years and maintained a healthy audience, the game is really starting to show its age, as are many other MMOs from the olden era, despite all the shiny patches. Its developers previously teased that something would be revealed at SGF a couple of days ago, instantly spawning speculation about a potential third game. However, many also believed it’d be a new expansion, update, or something of that sort, rather than a fully fledged sequel. Nevertheless, with this domain name, we’re almost a hundred percent sure that Guild Wars 3 will be revealed tonight during the SGF, so let’s hope we get a lot of other heavy hitters from big-name studios. /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post Guild Wars 3 teasers reach fever pitch with new domain sighting and SGF just around the corner appeared first on Destructoid. In recent years, Xbox embraced the idea of non-exclusive games and services, prioritizing instead appealing to as wide an audience as possible, no matter the device. While this genuinely benefited fans, it cost the company dearly as people saw fewer reasons to own its consoles. But that could be about to change, because according to new Xbox chief executive Asha Sharma, exclusivity is a must if a platform is to stand any chance of succeeding, especially in a market as competitive as consoles. “To be a leading publisher, our games must reach large audiences,” Sharma said during a Bloomberg Tech panel today ([Hidden Content]]), emphasizing past efforts to broaden Xbox’s horizon and appeal to as many people as it can. However, she noted that Xbox is “increasingly becoming a platform” with dedicated services and consumer expectations. [Hidden Content] “To succeed as a platform, we must offer exclusive content and services,” she continued, “and we’re looking at that very closely.” “We have to be very thoughtful about each title on how we want to think about it and learn from similar cases in the industry, and that’s what we’re doing,” Sharma said. [Hidden Content] Xbox has long suffered in the market due to Sony simply outclassing it when it comes to exclusive AAA titles. While Xbox has had its own set of games, none managed to succeed at a satisfactory level, compared to how Sony’s been utterly dominating the sphere with first-party blockbusters. On top of that, Xbox also launched all of its games on PC at the same time as consoles, further diluting its devices’ viability. Things really need to change if Xbox is to remain a platform, as Sharma says, since it risks downgrading itself to merely a service provider at best. One thing I’ll also add is that Sharma said she “absolutely” supports AI, that neural rendering is a great idea that’ll give us better graphics, and that she was surprised by how different studios she visited incorporated AI into their pipelines. At first, she had a strong stance against “AI slop,” and perhaps still does, since she did claim AI won’t replace AAA titles. However, any kind of open support for AI immediately makes me worry. I just cannot for the life of me trust multi-trillion-dollar corporations to do the right thing with a technology as potentially destructive and reductive as AI is. So, make of this what you will. /wp-content/themes/destructoid2025/assets/img/icons/likes-off.png0 The post Exclusive games and services are necessary for success, Xbox chief says appeared first on Destructoid. This year's IGN Live event kicks off this weekend, and to celebrate, Humble Bundle has dropped an excellent IGN Live game bundle that's full of some exciting picks, including Control, TOEM: A Photo Adventure, and seven more. If you pay at least $10, you can add all nine of the games in this bundle to your PC library. Considering they have a total value of $261, that's a fantastic offer to take advantage of, and one that won't be around for long (only 19 days remaining at the time of this writing). If you like what you see, now is definitely the time to make a move on this bundle. Check out all of the games available in it below. Games Included: CONTROL Ultimate Edition (Steam)OFF (Steam)Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew (Steam)Rollerdrome (Steam)Paradise Killer: Perfect 25 Edition (Steam)Blair Witch (Steam)Fear the Spotlight (Steam)The Last Campfire (Steam)TOEM: A Photo Adventure (Steam)[/url] Now, if you decide to pay less than $10, you will lose out on some games. If you drop to $7, you'll get Paradise Killer: Perfect 25 Edition, Blair Witch, Fear the Spotlight, The Last Campfire, and TOEM: A Photo Adventure. And going down to $5 will just get you The Last Campfire and TOEM: A Photo Adventure. However, if you decide to pay more than $10, your extra cash can go towards publishers, Humble, and to a charity. In terms of the latter, you'll be supporting Child's Play Charity through purchases of this bundle. Personally, I think there are some really great picks in this bundle. Control is up there as one of my favorite games, and I definitely agree with our review that said it "creates a captivating, oddball world that never loses the thread of its supernatural tale." Fear the Spotlight is another game I really enjoyed. Inspired by classic horror games from the PS1 era, it was a truly fun debut from Blumhouse Games and the mighty tiny dev team of Cozy Game Pals. I'd definitely recommend it if you want a spooky game to play this summer. Hannah Hoolihan is a freelancer who writes with the guides and commerce teams here at IGN. View the full article
Looking for a high-capacity, high-output power bank with a slim footprint? Ahead of Prime Day, Amazon has dropped the price of the Baseus Blade 20,000mAh 100W power bank to just $39.49 shipped after you apply coupon code "LAE3AVHH". Unlike previous iterations of this deal, you do NOT have to be an Amazon Prime member. Unlike most high-capacity power banks that are shaped like a chunky bar, the Baseus Blade is slimmer. It's powerful enough to charge any gaming handheld PC at its fastest rate. This is one of the most popular power banks on IGN. Baseus Blade 20,000mAh 100W Slim Power Bank for $39.49 The Baseus Blade measures only 0.7 inches thick. Most high-capacity power banks are well over 1" in thickness. The Blade achieves this slim depth by going with a wider body design. The form factor allows it to fit perfectly in a laptop bag or backpack sleeve. It still weighs in at about one pound which is comparable to other power banks, so no give or take there. The wide body allows it to squeeze in four ports: two USB Type-C ports each with 100W of Power Delivery and two USB Type-A ports each with 30W output. Note that the maximum charging output is 100W. That means although all three ports add up to a total of 160W, only a maximum of 100W will be delivered across all three ports if they are used simultaneously. The 20,000mAh capacity can fully recharge your gaming handhelds This Baseus Blade boasts a generous 20,000mAh, or 74Whr battery capacity. If you factor in 80% power efficiency, here are the approximate number of times you can fully recharge each gaming handheld or iPhone model: Nintendo Switch 2 (18Whr) about 3.3 timesSteam Deck (40-50Whr) about 1.2-1.5 timesROG Xbox Ally (60Whr) about 1 timesROG Xbox Ally X (80Whr) about 0.7 timesLenovo Legion Go S (55Whr) about 1 timeApple iPhone 17 (14Whr) about 4.2 timesApple iPhone 17 Pro Max (20Whr) about 3 timesThe 100W output can fast charge nearly all phones and gaming handhelds The Baseus Blade has USB Type-C ports that provides up to 100W of power output but it will automatically throttle down to whatever maximum rate the plugged-in device accepts. The Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 can only accept a maximum of 18W-30W of power output. The Steam Deck can accept up to 45W. The Legion Go S accepts up to 55W. The Xbox ROG Ally X can actually accept charging rates of up to 100W. This power bank can be brought onto airplanes You don't need to worry about being stopped at airports. The 20,000mAh 74Whr capacity is well below TSA's 27,000mAh/100Whr carry-on limit, so you are safely in the clear.
