Gardening is one of the most essential tasks in Disney Dreamlight Valley, which means it's not too surprising that it comes up frequently in Star Path events. One of the many gardening-related duties you'll encounter asks you to plant an enriching orange squash. Like many other Star Path event duties, this one isn't completely straightforward, which means you may have a tough time decoding which crop is being referenced. This quest isn't too difficult to check off once you know the right crop for it, so here's how to plant an enriching orange squash in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsWhat is an enriching orange squash in Disney Dreamlight Valley?Plant an enriching orange squash in Disney Dreamlight ValleyWhat is an enriching orange squash in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Screenshot by Destructoid The enriching orange squash mentioned in one of the routine duties for the Elements of Nature Star Path event is Pumpkins. Although you might be thinking of other ingredients that could match this description, especially Ring Squash if you have The Storybook Vale DLC, only Pumpkins count for the purposes of this task. Plant an enriching orange squash in Disney Dreamlight Valley To complete the plant an enriching orange squash task for the Star Path event in DDV, you need to plant a total of 20 Pumpkin Seeds. For the purposes of this quest, you don't actually need to harvest them, as it simply asks you to plant the crop to get it done. If you want to fully see the growth of these crops through, though, here's a full breakdown of how to make it happen. Purchase Pumpkin Seeds from Goofy's stall. He sells them at his shop in the Forgotten Lands biome for 275 Star Coins. You'll want to buy at least 20 seeds for the Star Path quest. Dig holes to plant the seeds. Use your Royal Shovel to set up a gardening space. Ideally, you want to dig these holes in either the Forgotten Lands biome or on the Forgotten Lands Floating Island, as Pumpkins grow a bit faster in their native biome. If you don't have space for them at either spot, though, you can set up this garden anywhere you like. Water the Pumpkins. Once you've got your seeds planted, use your Royal Watering Can on them.Wait. Pumpkins take four full hours to grow in regular biomes, or about three hours and 35 minutes if planted at the Forgotten Lands biome or on the Forgotten Lands Floating Island.Water the Pumpkins again. At some point during the growth process, the Pumpkins will need to be watered again. They stop growing when this happens, so be sure to keep an eye on them. Or, if you're not in a rush, there's a good chance the rain will eventually get them for you, so check back later to see if you're in luck. You also might consider using a horse from Wishblossom Ranch to make watering your large field of Pumpkins easier. Harvest 20 Pumpkins. After the allotted time has passed, visit your garden and get to work harvesting those Pumpkins. Be sure to bring a gardening villager and two gardening Companions with you to get the most Pumpkins possible. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid Completing this Elements of Nature Star Path task gets you 25 Tokens to spend in the event. It's a decent prize, but not quite enough to get your hands on most of the event rewards, so there's a good chance you'll need to get more work done to get whatever prize you have your eye on. The Elements of Nature Star Path has 102 duties for you to tackle, plus seven weeks of routine duties, which adds up to 123 quests you can work through to earn Tokens. Some other duties you may want to try tackling next are practicing mine-fulness, crafting a potion you can really “dig,” feeding the Ravens their favorite food, and cooking a fairly fancy dinner. Many Star Path event duties you'll encounter in Disney Dreamlight Valley task you with crafting some specific items. The exact item you need to make is usually obscured by a riddle, as is the case with the craft a potion to boost your garden quest. This duty is intentionally a bit tricky to challenge your valley knowledge, which means there's a decent chance you might struggle to figure out the right item for it. Luckily, it's a fairly easy quest to check off once you know what to make, so here's how to craft a potion to boost your garden in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsWhat is the potion to boost your garden in Disney Dreamlight Valley?Craft a potion to boost your garden in Disney Dreamlight ValleyWhat do Growth Elixirs do in Disney Dreamlight Valley? What is the potion to boost your garden in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Screenshot by Destructoid A potion that can be used to boost your garden in DDV is either Miracle Growth Elixir or Even More Miraculous Growth Elixir. For the purposes of the Elements of Nature Star Path event task, either option counts, so it's entirely up to you which one you choose to make. Finding the recipe to make these two potions can be a bit tricky. Following the Pocahontas Whispers of the Wind update that launched on April 8, the crafting menu received a total overhaul, which means these recipes aren't where they used to be. Now, they can be found under the Enchantments section, which is situated between the Materials and Customize sections in the upper right corner of the top row. Craft a potion to boost your garden in Disney Dreamlight Valley To complete the craft a potion to boost your garden Star Path quest, you need to craft one Miracle Growth Elixir or one Even More Miraculous Growth Elixir. Each potion is pretty costly to craft, so it's lucky that you only need one here. The recipe for each is fairly similar, with the second variant simply calling for more resources. Miracle Growth Elixir10 Vitalys Crystals10 Rich Soil500 DreamlightEven More Miraculous Growth Elixir20 Vitalys Crystals20 Rich Soil1,000 Dreamlight You can find Vitalys Crystals by mining rock nodes around the Vitalys Mines in the Sunlit Plateau region. Rich Soil is obtained by harvesting crops. Dreamlight is earned by checking off Dreamlight Duties or crafting Dream Shards into this resource at a crafting station. What do Growth Elixirs do in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Screenshot by Destructoid Both Growth Elixir enchantments are applied to your Royal Watering Can when used. You can then water crops that haven't grown yet to make them grow instantly. The standard Miracle Growth Elixir can be used on 20 crops, while the more powerful Even More Miraculous Growth Elixir can be used 50 times. You'll know one of the two enchantments is active if your watering can has a glowing effect to it when equipped. Successfully crafting one of the two potions to boost your garden gets you a whopping 50 Tokens to spend in the Star Path event. This is one of the largest prizes you can earn from any singular task, so it's certainly worth tackling. If you're hoping to claim additional Tokens, some other duties you can work on are purchasing something from a stall, crafting any refinement item, cooking a fairly fancy dessert, and picking up wood materials. There are over 100 unique ingredients you can get in Disney Dreamlight Valley, many of which you must plant and grow yourself to unlock. Star Path event tasks often ask you to tackle this task, as is the case with the plant a corny golden crop duty. Like most Star Path quests, this one is intentionally a bit vague to challenge you. There are many potential crops you might think match this description, but only one that actually works for the task, so here's how to plant a corny golden crop in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsWhat is a corny golden crop in Disney Dreamlight Valley?Where to find Corn Seeds in Disney Dreamlight ValleyPlant a corny golden crop in Disney Dreamlight ValleyWhat is a corny golden crop in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Screenshot by Destructoid The corny golden crop mentioned in one of the Elements of Nature Star Path routine duties is Corn. Specifically, this quest refers to Corn Seeds, as it asks you to plant this crop to progress. If you're working through duties in this event quickly, you might focus more on the golden crop portion of this task, which might lead you to seek out other ingredients like Wheat, Rice, Canola, or Elysian Grains, Oats, or Barley. The only item that counts for the purposes of this quest is Corn, though. Where to find Corn Seeds in Disney Dreamlight Valley Corn Seeds are available for 15 Star Coins at Goofy's stall in the Dazzle Beach biome. If you have the A Rift in Time DLC, you can also find them at his shop in the Glittering Dunes region. When clearing away Night Thorns around the beach, there's also a chance Corn Seeds may drop as a reward. Plant a corny golden crop in Disney Dreamlight Valley To finish the plant a corny golden crop task, you need to plant a total of 20 Corn Seeds. For Star Path duties, you're usually asked to harvest crops, but this one simply calls for planting, which means you don't have to spend time actually growing Corn unless you desire to do so. If you want to see the full process all the way through, though, here's how to properly grow corn in your valley. Visit the Dazzle Beach biome or the Glittering Dunes biome. You need to travel to one of these two spots to buy Corn Seeds for this quest. Interact with Goofy's stall and buy Corn Seeds. Walk over to Goofy's stall in either biome and chat with him to buy 20 Corn Seeds. Since each bag costs 15 Star Coins, you need at least 300 Star Coins to buy the required amount.Use your Royal Shovel to dig 20 holes. It's best to set up your Corn garden in the Dazzle Beach biome or the Glittering Dunes region, since it'll grow a bit faster in either area. Wait for the seeds to grow. Corn takes 12 minutes to grow, or about 10 minutes and 50 seconds if planted in one of the two native biomes. You only need to water it once, right after you initially plant it. Harvest the Corn Seeds. Bring along a gardening villager and two gardening Companions to ensure you harvest the most Corn possible. Screenshot by Destructoid For planting 20 Corn Seeds, you get to claim 25 Tokens to spend in the seasonal Star Path event. It's not a bad prize for your efforts, but you'll likely need to check off some additional duties to claim the prize you have your eye on. Some good ones to work on next are cooking a fairly fancy dessert, practicing mine-fulness, crafting a potion you can really “dig,” and feeding the Ravens their favorite food. There are many unique critters hopping around your village in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and slowly working on befirneding all of them is crucial. One of the most difficult critters to meet and get to know is the Calico Rabbit. While the vast majority of critters can be found wandering around their assigned biomes quite often, there are a select few that rarely make an appearance. The Calico Rabbit is one such creature, so tracking it down is difficult. Here's how to find and feed the Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsWhere to find Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight ValleyCalico Rabbit schedule in Disney Dreamlight ValleyCalico Rabbit favorite food in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to feed Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to unlock Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight ValleyWhere to find Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot and remix by Destructoid You can find the Calico Rabbit wandering around the Peaceful Meadow biome, which is right in the middle of the valley, south of the Plaza and north of Dazzle Beach. Like all critters, this one has its own unique schedule, which means you won't always find it hanging out in this area. Instead, this critter makes an appearance from time to time, but otherwise goes into hiding. Finding, feeding, and befriending the Calico Rabbit is a crucial part of the Olaf's Grand Exhibition quest, as he asks you to meet all Rabbits to complete the Peaceful Meadow room portion of the museum. Calico Rabbit schedule in Disney Dreamlight Valley The Calico Rabbit is one of the toughest critters to befriend, as this creature only comes out for a few hours one day of the week. You can find the Calico Rabbit hopping around the Peaceful Meadow biome on Thursdays from 8am to 2pm. The game time is based on your own local timezone, so you must venture to the right region within the specified timeframe to find it. Here's a full breakdown of this Rabbit's weekly schedule. Sunday – N/AMonday – N/ATuesday – N/AWednesday – N/AThursday – 8am to 2pmFriday – N/ASaturday – N/ACalico Rabbit favorite food in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid The Calico Rabbits' favorite food is a Carrot in DDV. This is also the favorite food of all other Rabbits you'll encounter around the Peaceful Meadow biome. They also like all Grains, Spices, Herbs, and Vegetables, but these other items don't count as favorites, only liked foods, so stick to Carrots if you want the best chances of befriending this critter. How to feed Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight Valley To feed the Calico Rabbit, you need to chase it around the Peaceful Meadow region a few times. Start by finding it in the right area, and once you do, walk right up to it, then wait for it to hop away to a new lcoation. Follow it over to the next spot, stop by it, and wait for it to take off again. Repeat this process a total of three times to unlock the option to interact with the creature, at which point you can then feed the Calico Rabbit. How to unlock Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight Valley The Calico Rabbit can be unlocked as a Companion after it's been fed at least two times. The exact number of times you need to feed it may vary, though, as some players will get it on the second feed, while others may have to return to feed it 10 times to get it. Generally, though, it takes between two and six feedings to unlock this animal. The post How to find and feed Calico Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight Valley appeared first on Destructoid. History buffs can reportedly look forward to multiple mythologies appearing in the next God of War from Sony Santa Monica. The unannounced game will feature elements from various mythologies rather than solely focusing on a single setting — such as the Greek and Norse sagas seen previously. That's according to a new report by MP1st, which specifically mentions ******** and Japanese elements being in development. That same report also references online scuttlebutt over Mayan elements, too, though does not go on to verify this particular claim. Still, it sounds like there will be plenty going on in the next chapter of the God of War universe, which Sony is expected to unveil in the near future. Last month, notorious video game leaker NatetheHate claimed that the game would center on the character of Faye, Kratos' deceased wife played by Daredevil's Deborah Ann Woll in God of War Ragnarök. IGN also understands this to be accurate. The leaker claimed that Sony's current plan is to unveil the game this year, ahead of a launch in 2027. Previous whispers of the project have descibed it as more of an action-focused take on the veteran franchise, with a tease by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier that the studio's next project was "not a new IP but it might feel like one." Had these leaks not occured, the game's announcement would likely have come as a major surprise for God of War fans amid a busy time for the franchise. February's PlayStation State of Play broadcast included confirmation that Sony Santa Monica had begun work on a God of War Trilogy Remake project, and there was also the surprise shadow drop of a side-scrolling spinoff — God of War Sons of Sparta — that arrived to a mixed response. The existence of another major God of War project at Sony Santa Monica makes sense, however, considering the fact it's been nearly four years since the launch of Ragnarök, Sons of Sparta was developed elsewhere, and the studio's work on remaking the series' classic Trilogy appears to be just beginning. It looks like Bungie's attempt to make Marathon a little more casual-friendly are helping. Marathon’s mid-season update is now live, including weapon adjustments, new Reward Pass additions, Runner shell tuning, earnable Arachne shell styles, new equipment, and more. It also introduced the CyberAcme Runner Reinforcement Initiative (C.A.R.R.I.), a "new protocol from ONI that rewards solo Runners and coordinated crews for completing contract objectives and exfiling together, with rewards tuned to help newer and mid-progression players while still offering benefits to the Cryo Archive-veterans that walk among us." Evidence of this is popping up all over the Marathon subreddit, with players sharing videos of friendly Runner encounters wherein combatants are helping revive downed players, share equipment and gear, exfil together, and even complete objectives. Take this encounter, for instance. U/duffleberries shows a frantic encounter in which he was downed but later rezzed by the same team after responding to cries of, "Are you friendly, are you friendly, are you friendly?!" When he insisted that he was, the enemy team threw down a self-revive and a weapon for him, and then give him a countdown to get out of dodge. "We later found each other again at exfil and got out together for those sweet CARRI commendations," duffleberries added. update made everyone TOO friendly byu/duffleberries inMarathon .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } There's also this incredibly wholesome incident where players hang out, swap gear, and thank Bungie for the experience… before someone goes rogue and "introduces everyone to their gun," to collective groans and cries of "You sh**head. Why would you do that?!" The friendlier Runners then shoot off together to complete objectives and missions, including some that involve intentionally downing and reviving each other. thank you bungo byu/iSlyy inMarathon .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } "C.A.R.R.I system has activated a light in me and players recently," added another. "In the five matches I ran so far, three out of the five had someone speaking, and two was literally pleading since I started shooting first — and out of those three matches it ended peacefully with us sharing loot and exfiling together so that we can get the commendations." Admittedly, it's not necessarily the case for all players. "I’m over here having people res me just to down me again lmao," laughed one commenter. Another wrote: "I was hoping for this experience when two Runners approach the exfil I was gonna use. Instead they baited and killed me." new update, billions must make friends :) byu/Sonicman223 inMarathon .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Yesterday (April 14), game director Joe Ziegler unveiled a new experimental mode coming to Marathon that hopes to make the experience a little easier by forcing players to load up with only the basic free sponsored kits. The mode, called Dire Marsh Sponsored, is now live and will run for around two weeks. Players can only enter if they're using a white-tier free sponsored kit, giving developer Bungie a chance to see "how the game plays out with low-fixed set gear conditions and caps, and now the zero to hero play works in low starting set gear conditions and caps." Bungie has repeatedly said that while Marathon has a steep learning curve, over time, recovering from a bad loss gets easier. Part of the challenge comes from the very nature of Marathon as an extraction shooter. If you die, you lose all your gear. And not just what you looted while out on the battlefield, but what you brought in. And given how easy it is to die in Marathon, it can feel like a brutally punishing video game. A new report recently claimed Marathon’s budget is over $200 million, and while player numbers have fallen significantly since launch, Bungie’s extraction shooter is allegedly not facing an imminent shutdown. Still, it's no surprise to see Bungie experiment with ways to make the game easier for casual players to contend with. Marty O'Donnell, the former video game composer known for his work on Halo and Destiny, has seen his latest bid for Congress endorsed by Donald Trump. Writing on X/Twitter last night, O'Donnell said he was "honored" to have Trump's support, following a social media post by the U.S. president which described the ex-Bungie composer as an "America First Patriot." O'Donnell's renewed bid to enter politics follows a failed attempt at the same Congressional seat back in 2024, which ended with him landing fourth place in its Republican primary. Long known for his conservative views, O'Donnell previously seemed dissatisfied with Trump, who he reportedly labelled as an "******" in a Twitter post back in 2016 and said he "loath[ed]" in 2017. "I appreciate the trust that the President has put in me and look forward to working with him in Congress to continue delivering for working families and keeping our nation safe," O'Donnell wrote now, confirming that with Trump's support he would continue his plan to try and unseat Nevada's 3rd Congressional District Democrat incumbent Susie Lee. "Marty O'Donnell is a World-Class Composer and Entrepreneur," Trump declared yesterday. "As your next Congressman, Marty will fight tirelessly to Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Strengthen our Brave Military/Veterans, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment." "The stakes this midterm could not be higher," O'Donnell continued. "That's why when I started running, I promised I would drop out unless President Trump supported me so that Republicans could avoid wasting resources on a needless primary. Much like President Trump, I didn’t come from the world of politics. I spent my entire career in the business world. I had the honor of working with some incredible people and composing music for some of the greatest video games of all time." Collaborating with Michael Salvatori, O'Donnell composed the score of numerous Bungie games, from 1997's Myth to the classic sounds of Halo: Combat Evolved, in a lengthy tenure that ended with his work for 2014's Destiny. 2014 also saw O'Donnell fired from Bungie, resulting in a legal tussle over witheld pay. Bungie later initiated its own legal dispute with O'Donnell in 2021, after the composer uploaded unreleased Destiny music to YouTube. Recent years have seen O'Donnell demonstrate an increasing interest in politics, after a lengthy ******* spent establishing his own game development studio, Highwire Games, that worked on VR title Golem back in 2019, and controversial shooter Six Days in Fallujah, which launched in early access form in 2023. O'Donnell's Halo themes will also be heard again later this year with the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved, which will bring Master Chief's adventures to Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
