NickEh30 is finally joining several other Fortnite content creators in the Icon series, and fans are excited to see what his cosmetic items will look like. Item rarities have always been how Fortnite players distinguish the various weapons, consumables, and cosmetics available in the game. At first, cosmetics only had four standard rarities: Common (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple), and Legendary (gold). However, over time, Epic Games decided that it was necessary to also separate them into series, which added new rarities to the mix: Lava, Slurp, Frozen, Shadow, Dark, Gaming Legends, Icon, Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. BioWare has confirmed more information on Dragon Age: The Veilguard ahead of the RPG's hotly anticipated gameplay reveal today, June 11. As spotted by Dragon Age YouTuber Jackdaw, BioWare posted a number of comments in the chat of the gameplay video on YouTube responding to questions from fans. One comment confirmed The Veilguard will give players six factions to choose from when creating their character, all with “deep roots in Thedas.” Three examples were provided: Antivan Crows, Gray Wardens, and Shadow Dragons. 6 FACTIONS TO CHOOSE FOR OUR PLAYER HERO!!!!! [Hidden Content] — Jackdaw (@JackdawYT) June 10, 2024 These examples harken back to previous Dragon Age games, with mention of the Gray Wardens in particular rekindling memories of the much-loved first Dragon Age game, subtitled Origins. In that 2009 RPG, the player character is recruited into the Grey Wardens, an ancient order that fights the Darkspawn. Some fans are now speculating that The Veilguard will let players play through their faction’s backstory, as Origins did to great effect, but this is unconfirmed for now. Elsewhere, BioWare confirmed players can customize their Inquisitor from the Dragon Age: Inquisition story in the Veilguard character creator, and "make a few key decisions that will impact how The Veilguard begins." This suggests Dragon Age fans' Inquisitor will make an appearance in The Veilguard in some capacity. THE INQUISITOR IS COMING BACK AND WE WILL CREATE THEM AT THE START OF DA:TV!!! [Hidden Content] — Jackdaw (@JackdawYT) June 10, 2024 And finally, it is confirmed that fan-favorite character Scout Harding is a romance option. This comes as little surprise given Harding is one of seven companions in The Veilguard. These details follow yesterday’s release of 20 seconds of gameplay, below. In it, we see Rook, the name for the playable protagonist in The Veilguard, with Dragon Age mainstay Varric. This gameplay release followed a mixed reception to The Veilguard’s debut trailer, shown off during Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase. Enjoy this sneak-peek at tomorrow's Gameplay Reveal! Rook and Varric arrive in the stunning - and seedy - city of Minrathous. Little do they know what dangers await. Tune in tomorrow to find out: [Hidden Content] #DragonAge [Hidden Content] — Dragon Age (@dragonage) June 10, 2024 BioWare also recently confirmed that The Veilguard will let you play as a human, elf, dwarf, or qunari. while you wait for the gameplay video, check out IGN's exclusive interview with BioWare general manager Gary McKay where he explains, among other things, why the developer changed the name of the fourth Dragon Age game from Dreadwolf to The Veilguard. What a thrill! Oh, wait, actually no. It’s just a release date. We get those all the time. Still, I’m not entirely un-thrilled to learn that stealth action game Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater could be arriving as soon as the 17th of November this year, according to a hastily scrubbed X post by retailer GameStop. Thankfully, the folks at the (good, handsome) Ian Games Network grabbed the offending information square before it was deleted. Here’s said square: Read more View the full article

The playable area in Caravan SandWitch’s Steam Next Fest demo isn’t all that big, but within seconds you’re plonked at the rusty wheel of an offroading motorhome and let loose to roam it. It’s a figurative "Go nuts," and given how much more this narrative-heavy, third-person exploration yarn seemingly has to give, it's an attitude I’m seriously hoping holds firm throughout the full game. Surprise, the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake showed up at last night's Ubisoft Forward. Well, in a manner of speaking. What we did get in its brief apparance was a new release window, as well as enough candle to fulfil any hippie's chill lighting quota. Yep, alongside the three big headliners we knew would be there going into the show - *********'s Creed Shadows, XDefiant, and Star Wars Outlaws - we actually got an update on the Sands of Time remake, which has endured a pretty rocky development life to this point. In the 30 second long teaser that made up the Sands of Time remake's cameo during the showcase, we did get one key detail: following the multiple delays and rejiggings it's faced, the game is now pencilled in to release in 2026. No, there wasn't a set month or date to go along with that, don't push your luck. Read more View the full article

Back in 2021, developers Beethoven and Dinosaur teamed up with Annapurna Interactive to bring us The Artful Escape, a musical odyssey based around journeying through a psychedelic '70s rock universe as a budding musician crafts his persona. And now, as seen in the recent Xbox Games Showcase, the same developer and publisher are teaming up again to bring us Mixtape, another odyssey based around music, but with several different twists compared to its predecessor. For one, the setting is jumping ahead to around the late '80s/early '90s, as opposed to the '70s. And in contrast to the surreal alien landscapes of before, here the game is set in Northern California, focusing on a smaller tale between a group of teenage friends. That said, there's still a touch of fantasy here, as seen through the titular mixtape, and in the trailer at the link here. View the full article
Diablo 4 players have today heaped praise on Blizzard for skipping the early access pass for Vessel of Hatred, the game’s first big DLC expansion, after many feared they’d go down that route again with special editions. When Diablo 4 initially launched, players were upset that only those with the Digital Deluxe Edition or higher were granted four days of early access. This meant players could experience new content sooner and gain an advantage. Many players found this to be a distasteful “money-grabbing” approach by the devs that only benefited those who could afford to fork out more cash. Surprisingly though, there’s no early access advantages in any of the Vessel of Hatred editions, and players are calling this a huge win. View the full article

The team will once more need to defy the odds with a stand-in if they hope to keep their playoff streak alive, with G2 making the finals of every offline CS2 tournament they’ve attended dating back to the sequel’s launch last September. It's hard to believe that Thumper came out almost eight years ago. The game had been a staple of shows like PAX East for years before release, and when it finally came out it was even better and deeper than expected. The VR support that got added later improved the game even more, removing any lag a monitor could introduce while increasing the player's awareness of the obstacles coming down the track, plus providing a fantastic sense of scale to the proceedings. Thumper is a stone-cold classic, still feeling as fresh and dangerous today as the day it was released. Which is somehow almost eight years ago at this point, so it's well past time for a sequel.
