  1. Intel has announced plans to stop selling some of its 13 th Core processors in retail boxes, meaning gamers will need to buy the unboxed versions instead. The move affects all of the K-series chips in the lineup, which are aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers, as they have unlocked multipliers. These Intel CPU models also have higher boost clocks than their non-K counterparts, which makes them better for gaming. Read the rest of the story... 2. Cast your mind back to 2017, when battle royales weren't even a glint in most games developers' eyes and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds—now officially known as PUBG: Battlegrounds—smashed its way into early access. It rapidly rose through the ranks, and soon became one of Steam's most-played games. While there had been mods inspired by the Battle Royale film before, there hadn't been anything quite like this. It was nihilistic, intensely unwelcoming and brutally difficult to get to grips with. I played for a year, but my interest faded as the game moved out of the popular consciousness. I never forgot the ridiculous tension, though, or the silly situations that the game constantly threw my way... Read more.View the full article
  3. The incredibly underrated Ghostrunner is free for PC via Epic Games Store, but the offer is extremely limited, and interested players need to run to ensure they can claim it. Ghostrunner is a 3D action platformer game released in 2020. The title was developed by One More Level and Slipgate Ironworks and published by 505 Games and All in! Games. The main goal of the game is to traverse through its several levels using platforming skills and survive combats that revolve around the one-hit KO mechanic. This means that if the player is hit, they have to restart that phase. View the full article
  4. Amazon's Fallout TV Show is here now, but before it was, the show had a swanky Hollywood premiere that I'm sure my invite for got lost in the post. At that premiere, snazzily dressed Todd Howard said some things, and some of these things were about the potential idea of an Elder Scrolls adaptation. When it comes to such a thing, it sounds like Howard's plan is - simply put - to keep on being picky. Yup, picky, but in what should be a good way. After all, if someone's going to turn the Lusty Argonian Maid into the blockbuster hit of summer 2034, we need to make sure they understand what the political climate of Morrowind was like when Crassius Curio wrote the ***** thing. Speaking to IGN on the red carpet, Howard was asked about the idea of other Bethesda IPs potentially getting the adaptation treatment, be that a TV show like Fallout or something else. "I don't know. There's nothing in the works," the BGS big cheese said. Read more View the full article
  5. The Fallout TV show is here and, here's a bombshell, it's good. Really good. So good, in fact, that it's naturally got people asking if Bethesda's televisual ambitions stop there. Might the company follow up Fallout with a Skyrim show? A Starfield series? A blistering 4K HDR adaptation of Wayne Gretzky Hockey 3?.. Read more.View the full article
  6. Marvel Rivsls has seemingly teased that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game are in the works—albeit accidentally. The six-vs-six shooter was revealed on March 27, showing off plenty of characters and exciting gameplay. But there was disappointment for console players because Marvel Rivals was only announced for PC. View the full article

  9. Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs will be released for PC and consoles next month, Bandai Namco has announced. It’s an updated version of the 64-player battle royale game Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle, which launched in 2020 for Stadia but closed down last year alongside Google’s game streaming service. 11. In typical Niantic style, a new Pokémon Go announcement of a future announcement has dropped on social media, teasing ‘big updates’ coming to the game in the future—and the community is less than impressed. The April 11 video doesn’t show much about the update, just a few CGI clips of a person playing Pokémon Go until their avatar appears with a few Pokémon surrounding them. The only thing I could see from the trailer is the avatar seemed to have new assets, but it’s hard to say precisely what Niantic wanted to tease. View the full article

  13. The Disney Speedstorm community is in flames as an announcement from developer Gameloft regarding the game's monetization has prompted players to begin refunding any and all purchases. Released in 2023, the free-to-play race may not be a mainstream hit like its closest competitor Mario Kart but solid reviews and decent post-launch support have helped it establish a solid community of players who enjoy its take on kart-racing and Disney characters. Unfortunately, Gameloft has seemingly burnt many bridges after announcing that all future premium Golden Pass tracks will be locked behind real money. View the full article

  16. Amazon's Fallout Prime Video series is a big venture for the classic game franchise, and the company is celebrating its launch in style by making some past Fallout games available for free. Ever since the 1997 game that spawned the series, Fallout's post-apocalyptic wasteland has captured the imagination with vivid characters and expansive plots, making it a strong fit for a television adaptation. Amazon recently announced that subscribers will be able to download the MMO Fallout 76 for free on Xbox and PC starting on April 11, but that isn't the only title that the company is making available. 19. Palworld PvP is on the way, but like a lot of things in Pocketpair's survival game, announcing that news wasn't straightforward. Despite a teaser trailer stating a "summer 2024" release date, the Palworld dev has had to now stress it's actually a more broad window of just "2024". 21. Waluigi is still a scumbag, but his racecourse is pretty great. | Image: Nintendo Despite essentially being a rehash of the bestselling Wii U game of all time, I’d argue Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the quintessential multiplayer game for the Nintendo Switch (sorry, Smash Bros. stans). The 2017 title only got better with the additional 48 tracks Nintendo introduced as DLC, which, thanks to a discount at Amazon and Walmart, you can currently grab alongside the base game for $64.98 ($20 off). [/url] The so-called Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — Booster Course Pass includes a digital copy of the original Switch game and all six waves of added DLC content, which Nintendo also offers as a standalone purchase for $24.99 or as part of a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription for $49.99 a year. 22. Ubisoft has sparked a debate after announcing Star Wars Outlaws’ expensive gold and ultimate editions, which offer early access and a season pass, among other things. The $109.99 gold edition and even more expensive $129.99 are being criticized by some not just for costing much more, but for what they include. The Gold Edition includes the base game, as you’d expect, the Season Pass, and three days early access with a pre-order. The Ultimate Edition includes all that and two cosmetic bundles (the Sabacc Shark bundle and the Rogue Infiltrator bundle), and a digital art book. The Season Pass adds two post-launch story expansions, the exclusive Jabba’s Gambit mission at launch, and the Kessel Runner character cosmetic pack. It’s worth noting that Star Wars Outlaws is a single-player only game, which has caused some to question the need for a season pass at all (by using the word "season" Ubisoft suggests there will be more than one). It’s also worth pointing out that the base game costs $70 on console, which means Ubisoft values the season pass and early access at $40, and the cosmetics and digital art book at $20. Ubisoft has yet to detail the two post-launch DLCs included in the season pass. Some players are now expressing disappointment in how Star Wars Outlaws is being sold. “Star Wars Outlaws will cost up to $130 U.S. on release and has pre-order bonuses, a season pass, and three price levels,” said disgruntled redditor Ketsukoni. “I'm trying to see the positive in this one.” There are now people saying they plan to wait for a post-launch ***** before picking up Star Wars Outlaws. “It’s a single-player game,” added jbm1518. “Wait a year to buy it and you’ll save money, have DLC already available, and have a more polished experience.” Anytime I see charts like these it just makes me think: “I can’t wait to buy the full game for $20 years later.” [Hidden Content] — Angel RPG ******* (@Helexzura) April 9, 2024 The Star Wars Outlaws Ultimate Edition price matches the equivalent edition of Ubisoft’s recently released Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which was itself a price hike compared to the ultimate editions of the likes of The Crew Motorfest and Skull and Bones. When it comes to Ubisoft ultimate editions, we’re firmly in $130 territory now, it seems. Star Wars Outlaws finally gave fans a clearer look at its narrative in a story trailer that was released this week. It gave us an early look at leads Kay Vess and Nix and the crew they hope to assemble while also revealing more from some familiar faces. Most importantly, though, the video finally revealed a release date. Star Wars Outlaws launches for PC via Ubisoft Connect, the Epic Games Store, and Amazon Luna, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S on August 30, 2024. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. 23. Gigantic: Rampage Edition is the revitalized MOBA that’ll hopefully stay up longer than last time. With this new edition, more heroes have been added for us to play with, so let’s shove them in a tier list like usual fashion.Gigantic: Rampage Edition tier listI will be ranking all the heroes in Gigantic: Rampage Edition from best to worst. I have gathered my information based from public opinion, to try and remain objective. Although it should be remembered that this is a pretty new game, so all the metas may not be fully fleshed out yet.The game so far seems rather balanced, so we’ll see most of these heroes in the same weight-class, with some exceptions, of course. As the days go on, we’ll see how different ability strategies come to light to elevate certain heroes in the rankings.Screenshot: PC InvasionConsider this tier list a good point of reference for what characters are generally accepted to be good or bad, although the best tier list...View the full article
