  1. Blending the roguelike deckbuilder stylings so beloved in games like Slay the Spire, Cobalt Core, and most recently Balatro with four-person dungeon crawling reminiscent of Darkest Dungeon, Across the Obelisk is a very satisfying challenger in the space - and one of the few to offer co-op with up to four players collaborating online. Now, a new pair of expansions have arrived, bringing a new hero character and another story campaign to the card game on Steam. Read the rest of the story... 2. When is the Lollipop Chainsaw Repop release date? A console cult classic despite mixed critic reviews, Lollipop Chainsaw was set for a comeback thanks to a full remake announced by Dragami Games in 2022. Since, the remake has been scaled back to a simple remaster, but is still set for release on console and, for the first time, PC. Lollipop Chainsaw Repop is a hack and slash game featuring girlypop protagonist Juliet Starling, a blonde cheerleader who slays in more ways than one, as she and her chainsaw decimate hordes of zombies. There is some good news with the action-adventure game being remastered, as original stars return for the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster, while some new features have also been confirmed for the fast-approaching release date. 3. Kuro Games' highly anticipated ARPG, Wuthering Waves, has generated a huge amount of hype since it was initially teased back in 2022. While it's destined for PS5 in the future, its release on other platforms is just around the corner, and to celebrate the studio has revealed it has notched up a staggering 30 million pre-registrations (and counting). As a new gacha hit is soon to be born, Kuro has also revealed a new livestream promising new details will air on Sunday, May 19 at 6:30 pm PT / 9:30 pm ET / 2:30 am BST. Read the rest of the story... 4. While the current library of PS Plus games is stacked, nothing beats revisiting classics back from the PS2 glory days. Compared to the slate of PS5 games on the service, the Classics Catalog is kind of lacking, but that could change as Sony appears to be improving its PS2 emulation capabilities. With the addition of Star Wars The Clone Wars on PS Plus, it might be the start of a fresh wave of rejuvenated PS2 titles. Read the rest of the story... 5. Despite Embracer's repeated warnings, the world was shocked when last week a new Lord of the Rings movie was confirmed. Moreover, it was revealed that the new big-screen project is titled The Hunt for Gollum, and everyone started questioning who asked for this. Well, now we know that the pitch came from the filmmakers behind the six previous New Line-produced movies, actually. Deadline's in-depth article, which features quotes straight from Peter Jackson, Andy Serkis, and writer Philippa Boyens will put some minds at ease, yet it seems the Middle-earth veterans are now tied to a new wave of The Lord of the Rings projects they hadn't thought about before. Word on the street last week was that Embracer and Warner Bros. Discovery, in their seemingly endless search for bankable IPs to mine, had toyed with the idea of doing safe spinoffs and prequels that followed a younger Aragorn or Gandalf, among other famous names. "Gollum’s life span takes place in such an interesting ******* of Middle-earth. When the question was first asked, this was the first story we thought of. Because I can tell you, and people might not believe this, but we had zero expectations of going back to this. It wasn’t something we were looking to do, particularly," Boyens explained. Anyway, now Arrowhead says that all of the fighting up until this point - an entire war's worth, was just the prelude to "The Second Galactic War" which has just kicked off. 13. Starfield players who just can't part with their horde of collected treasures are in luck because the game's most recent update just introduced a way to expand ships' cargo capacities and it's much easier than expected. One of the more common complaints about Bethesda's RPGs is the fact that characters have such a limited carrying weight in relation to the amount of interesting items they can pick up throughout their adventures. While most of this loot can stored in a house or on a companion, Starfield goes one step further by allowing explorers to bring their stash with them. View the full article

  18. Making a fighting game is hard - making any video game is hard! If it was easy, everyone would do it. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try of course. If you've got a ******* idea in your head or a love letter to games of the past at your fingertips, you should absolutely give it a ******. **** by the Blade feels like one such game, calling back to living room epics like Bushido Blade or the Deadliest Warrior games. Sadly, it doesn't quite hit the heights of such titles. That's not for lack of trying! **** by the Blade has a nifty blend between a classic samurai aesthetic and a futuristic cyberpunk look and it works well as the foundation to the game's vibe. 20. Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring's 'first and last' DLC expansion, is a little over a month away. Whether you're jumping back into the base game before release or starting from scratch altogether, the hype is slowly building. Shadow of the Erdtree will release on June 21 and is set to cost $39.99 -- but if you're on PC, there's already a tantalizing saving on offer to you. Fanatical, a trusted PC and Steam code seller, currently has the Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree expansion listed for $35.19 / £30.79 in the ***, alongside the 'Premium Bundle' for $43.99 (down from $49.99). That's at least $4.81 savings and 12% off one of the most anticipated DLCs ever. This feels like a no-brainer. If playing Shadow of the Erdtree already seems like a done deal for you, this offer is like finding almost $5 in change stuffed into the back pocket of the jeans you wore last week. While this isn't a ***** Giant-sized discount, it's one of the best PC video game deals running. Codes at this price aren't unlimited either, so it could be worth securing ASAP to ensure you're paying the best price possible. In case you missed some other finer details, this is a Steam code purchase and only for those on PC. For those on console, you can see our complete preorder guide for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Edition right here on IGN as well. While this may be the only expansion Elden Ring is getting, it may not be fans' final taste of The Lands Between. FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki hasn't shut down the possibility of a full sequel, and when asked about the future of the franchise, he commented that FromSoftware deliberately leaves the end of its games open to potential sequels, and it seems Elden Ring will be no exception. Miyazaki suggested in March 2024 that FromSoftware hadn't made a decision on a sequel yet, but similarly spoke to the ******* to keep its options open. "We don't want to say this is the end of the Elden Ring saga for now," he told IGN. As part of the reveal of the hotly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree this year, Bandai Namco also issued a sales update for the base game, which has now sold over 20 million copies after launch. If you're excited for the upcoming expansion, it's worth checking out 15 hidden details that we found in the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer as well. The base version of Elden Ring returned a 10/10 in IGN's review. "Elden Ring is a massive iteration on what FromSoftware began with the Souls series, bringing its relentlessly challenging combat to an incredible open world that gives us the freedom to choose our own path," we said. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will release June 21 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. The release date was announced earlier this year, alongside the release of a brand-new trailer, which includes glimpses of a host of new bosses, powers, and more. What Level Should You Be for Shadow of the Erdtree? We already have a handy guide on how you should prepare for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, but here's a quick rundown. We recommend that characters should likely be at least Level 100 to Level 150 to properly prepare for the challenges of the DLC. Most players who have reached the final boss of Elden Ring usually find themselves around Level 100 or higher depending on the challenges you face, so it's likely that having that many points allocated in various stats will give you a good fighting chance. But, it's also worth noting that the DLC will introduce a new power scaling mechanic. Players will be able increase their power by seeking out minor bosses and defeating them, so this will be an additional factor to consider besides your level when entering the Land of Shadow.
