The creative director behind *********'s Creed Shadows has shared some information related to the size of Ubisoft's upcoming open world stabby action game. Speaking to IGN, Jonathan Dumont stated that the game will be roughly the size of *********'s Creed Origins, rather than the larger Valhalla. "It's in-line with the latest *********'s Creeds that we've done," Dumont said, "On a scale level, maybe we can compare it a little bit more to the size of *********'s Creed Origins." This may come as great news for those out there who found the larger scope of Valhalla and Odyssey a bit too much. Now, don't get me wrong, the huge swathes of content offered by those games and massive RPGs before them have proven to be a sweet succor for workers and teenagers with little money and much time to *****. But at a time when there are frankly a wild number of fantastic games to play, the prospects of clearing out Shadows without seeing a season come and go is a tantalizing concept. With Wuthering Waves releasing on PC, iOS, and PlayStation, players are inevitably wondering if it supports crossplay or cross-progression. We’ll let you know if you can play with friends from different platforms.Wuthering Waves: Is there crossplay?Currently, Kuro Games has yet to confirm if Wuthering Waves has crossplay or not. Since Wuthering Waves has multiplayer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see crossplay enabled. This would allow players on one platform to play online with friends on another. Unfortunately, so far, we know nothing about this RPG’s crossplay functionality and won’t know anything until players can find out for themselves once the game is available to everyone. If it’s not available from launch, we can probably expect crossplay to arrive sometime in the future. Although it’s typical for online games to come out the gate with crossplay enabled, even some of the most popular games like Genshin Impact didn’t init...View the full article
New puzzle game Lorelei and the Laser Eyes isn't for the faint of heart, but developer Simogo has a unique approach to opening up the game to all audiences. As the studio behind games like the impressive Sayonara Wild Hearts and Year Walk, Simogo has never been especially bound to convention. These games also have a knack for knowing where to streamline things and where to branch out in new directions, which is a lot of what makes them so easy to pick up and get immersed in. Indie game developer Simogo has a long track record of interesting titles, but its newest, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, might be the most ambitious and unusual yet. As a complex puzzle adventure set inside a ******-and-white hotel, it doesn't take long for the game to set itself apart from anything out there. What also becomes clear is just how much thought and creativity went into the experience, which took over four years to craft. View the full article

Enlarge / Identical cousins. (credit: Spellblade91 / Reddit) [/url] Years ago, Sony started making a select handful of "PlayStation 2 Classics" available as emulated downloads on the PlayStation 4. Now, there are signs that certain PS2 games will be similarly available for native download on the PS5, complete with new features like "up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters." The hint at Sony's coming PS2 download plans comes via a new PlayStation Network listing for the 2002 release Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which recently appeared on tracking site PSDeals (as noticed by Gematsu). That site draws from unpublished data from the PSN servers, such as this thumbnail image that recently appeared on the playstation.com servers and lists a planned June 11 release for the emulated Clone Wars port. So far, this is nothing out of the ordinary. But near the bottom of the boilerplate, the listing notes that "this title has been converted from the PlayStation 2 version to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles and provides newly added features [emphasis added]." That's a marked difference from earlier "PS2 on PS4" downloadable releases, which only say that they were "converted from the original PlayStation 2 version to the PS4 system." Physical copies of*********'s Creed Shadows will require you you to be connected to the interent in order to install the game, but you'll be fine to play the game offline once that's done, Ubisoft has confirmed. Seriously, there's a statement formatted to match the game's colour scheme and everything. Following the game's reveal yesterday, it'd been spotted that boxed retail copies of Shadows came bearing the message that a net connection would be required to install the game. While that sucks on the preservation front, it has become a pretty regular state of play for plenty of big single player games nowadays, with Star Wars Outlaws being just one other title coming out soon that falls into the same boat. Responding to chatter about this, Ubisoft's now elected to put out a statement outlining the exact situation when it comes to Shadows and the net. "*********'s Creed Shadows will not require a mandatory connection at all times," the team behind the game writes. "An online connection will be needed to install the game, but you will be able to play the entire journey offline, and explore Japan without any online connection." Read more View the full article

The next game by Counter-Strike and Half Life developer Valve is a six-vs-six hero shooter named Deadlock, according to a purported *****. King Charles unveiled the first official portrait of himself since his coronation earlier this week, and uh, he only looks a little bit like an Elden Ring boss. I'm not quite sure who told the artist behind Charles' first portrait as King to make him look like he is engulfed in the flames of *****, but that's pretty much exactly how it came out. If the painting was of anyone other than a royal family member I'd honestly say it's pretty *****, *****, I'd love to be painted in a way that makes me look like a terrifying boss from a video game. It's just, when you're literally the king of England, well, in the first instance it might not be all that tonally appropriate, but you also best be prepared for people to take the p**s out of it. Which, of course, many quickly have, with several users online quickly pointing out how much it looks like a portrait from the Dishonored series. So, of course, someone has already modded Charlie's new portrait into Dishonored (thanks, PC Gamer). As demonstrated by Timo on YouTube, the mod in question just acts as a simple texture swap that replaces the Lord Regent's picture with King Charles'. Like many paintings in Dishonored, you can also nab it for yourself, though I'm not exactly sure if that counts as treason or not, so maybe it'd be better not to do so? Still, it's a good laugh for this week on the hellsit known as Twitter, certainly better than the usual faff people get up to. Read more View the full article

Microsoft's been having a bit of a nightmare recently with its Xbox gaming brand, not least because the mega-corp appears to have put its short-term blinkers on when it comes to turning a profit. Medieval city builder Manor Lords is a smash hit, selling two million copies in just three weeks. Slavic Magic’s debut game launched on Steam priced $39.99 and straight into PC Game Pass in Early Access form on April 26. On Steam, the game is particularly well-received, with a ‘very positive’ user review rating. IGN’s Manor Lords Early Access review returned a 7/10. We said: “Manor Lords is a gorgeous medieval city-builder that kept me occupied for hours building my perfect, cozy hamlets, but it definitely feels very early in its Early Access development.” Publisher Hooded Horse said on Manor Lords’ opening weekend, the concurrent player count peaked at over 173,000 on Steam alone (the highest ever concurrent player count for a city builder on Valve’s platform), and the first one million sales were made by the next day. Since then, solo developer Greg Styczeń has been hard at work processing feedback from the player base, and the first patch recently went into open testing. “It’s been wonderful to see so many players give Manor Lords a try,” commented Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender. “We had some pretty optimistic expectations and even some wild hopes, but reaching two million copies on Manor Lords so quickly has exceeded even those.” "We had some pretty optimistic expectations and even some wild hopes, but reaching two million copies on Manor Lords so quickly has exceeded even those.
