After Larian Studios announced that it was parting ways with DnD IP, speculations were rampant regarding what the developer would do next. Now, though information is still scarce, Larian has announced it’s starting work on “two very ambitious RPGs,” and opened a new studio to help. Larian confirmed this in a post on X (formerly Twitter) today. “With two very ambitious RPGs now starting development,” the developer wrote, “what better way to see our visions realized than by growing the team and opening a seventh studio in the heart of Poland’s lively gaming scene.” The seventh studio in question will be located in Warsaw, the same city where CD Projekt’s primary studio is based. CD Projekt Red also congratulated Larian for opening a new studio in their hometown. “Welcome to Warsaw, neighbors,” CDPR wrote on X. View the full article
Completing a game is no easy feat, especially if it has a lot of “distractions” for you to stumble upon and explore. Some games, regardless of how good they are, are bound to be left unfinished. In a Reddit thread on May 19, gamers came together to talk about the best games they’ve ever played but never managed to finish. “For me, it’s The Witcher 3. I love the game, it may even be my favourite,” the original poster wrote. “But I spend so much time exploring and doing side quests that I get fatigued and life gets in the way.” They added they would come back a year later, start the game anew, only to do the same thing again. By decking out their copy of Starfield with over a hundred mods inspired by Star Wars, one player has managed to turn the Bethesda sandbox into a completely different experience altogether. Though Starfield broke several Bethesda records at launch, the game's overall reception among fans has been notably mixed, with only 41% of its recent Steam reviews having a positive score. Despite this, many players feel that Starfield has a lot of untapped potential potential that could come to fruition through Shattered Space and the Creation Kit. View the full article

With Season 4 making a substantial number of changes to Diablo 4, many will soon find out that, while you can visit the blacksmith to repair your weapons and gear, you can’t upgrade them. Can you still upgrade your weapons and armor in Diablo 4 Season 4: Loot Reborn? Well, let’s find out.Diablo 4: Can you still upgrade weapons in Season 4?Yes and no. ******* and gear upgrading has undergone a revamp following the release of Diablo 4 Season 4: Loot Reborn and the introduction of both the Tempering and Masterworking systems. These systems effectively replace the traditional ******* and gear upgrading we have used since the game’s release. And, to be completely honest with you, it’s a long overdue change since upgrading weapons was pretty much pointless unless you had an endgame piece of gear that would be replaced by a new one five minutes after upgrading.Diablo 4: Tempering, explainedTempering is somewhat of an upgrade system that, instead of upgrad...View the full article
Wacky space station management sim Startopia and wacky hosptial sim Theme Hospital are two of my favourite older games, so I was very pleased with the concept of Galacticare, which is a wacky space station hospital management sim. And you know what? It's great! From early reveals and previews I thought it might veer into being too wacky, but it nails its tone, has some really striking levels, and bugs in earlier builds have been squashed (much as you can manually splat small parasites that make their way into your hospital). I can see this becoming a go-to comfort game for me. Read more View the full article
Two years of early access have been kind Songs of Conquest. Its strategy fundamentals were already strong enough to impress me in 2022 that it's been quite tricky to even remember what's changed. But there's more of it, and although after much reflection I think it's not quite, quite for me, more of a good and unusual thing is definitely enough to push me into a very nearly wholehearted endorsement. Enlarge / Battles get a wee bit involved as you go on in Songs of Conquest. (credit: Coffee Stain Publishing) [/url] There are games for which I have great admiration, pleasant memories, and an entirely dreadful set of skills and outcomes. Heroes of Might & Magic III (or HoMM 3) has long been one of those games. I have played it on just about every PC I've owned, ever since it chipped away at my college GPA. I love being tasked with managing not only heroes, armies, resources, villages, and battlefield positioning but also time itself. If you run around the map clicking to discover every single power-up and resource pile, using up turn after turn, you will almost certainly let your ****** grow strong enough to conquer you. But I do this, without fail. I get halfway into a campaign and the (horse cart) wheels fall off, so I set the game aside until the click-to-move-the-horsey impulse comes back. With the release of Songs of Conquest in 1.0 form on PC today (Steam, GOG, Epic), I feel freed from this loop of recurrent humbling. This title from Lavapotion and Coffee Stain Publishing very much hits the same pleasure points of discovery and choice as HoMM 3. But Songs of Conquest has much easier onboarding, modern resolutions, interfaces that aren't too taxing (to the point of being playable on Steam Deck), and granular difficulty customization. More importantly for most, it has its own stories and ideas. If you love fiddling with stuff turn by turn, it's hard to imagine you won't find something in Songs of Conquest to ***** you. As the fourth main game in the franchise, Fallout 4 has a lot of lore to draw upon, with past events and characters referenced throughout the epic RPG. It also means that a fair few familiar faces can make a return, traveling up from the Capital Wasteland to the Commonwealth to join in the fun. While some of the returning characters might only appear under specific circumstances, others play vital roles in the main storyline. View the full article

While Helldivers 2 players still have plenty of enemies to cut down in order to accplish the game's least Major Order, plenty are already thinking about what they'd like to see from Arrowhead's next bout of ******* balancing. The Eruptor looks to be a the top of a lot of their lists, but it looks like they could be waiting a little while, with Arrowhead suggesting that it still needs a bit more time to cook up something good. While things have been chugging on just fine in-game, even now that we're into the Second Galactic War all of a sudden, some of the game's recent patches have left some vocal players a bit underwhelmed. That said, a recently announced reversion of ****** spawn rates to their pre-patch state went down pretty well, so here's hoping this next batch of ******* revamps can do the same, even if pleasing everyone's impossible. Responding to a player in Helldivers 2's Discord server asking whether there'll be another ******* balancing patch arriving soon, community manager Twinbeard simply responded: "More time. We're cooking." The player response to this looks to be bit mixed. Some have applauded the studio for taking more time to test things out before setting them in stone than it seemigly has with a few of the game's recent tweaks and updates, while others are citing a lack of ****** in the studio's ability to cook up a balacing patch that'll earn their seal of approval. Any trainer reading about the recent Pokémon Go datamine would be forgiven for taking a second look, because it could potentially include huge changes that are worth getting excited for. From the recent datamine first reported by PokémonGoHub, two major changes stand out the most. Firstly, it looks like Zygarde Cells from routes are increasing from one Cell to three. Secondly, the datamine seems to tease item sharing between trainers, so finally, trainers will be able to trade evolution stones and more. View the full article

After facing controversy for a lengthy offline *******, MultiVersus is back with its full launch next week, and it's adding a funny pairing of characters with it. Earlier today, Player First Games released its launch trailer for MultiVersus, which is finally coming back next week, May 28. The trailer is all CG, showing characters like Finn and Velma facing off against Bugs Bunny and The Joker, and Marvin the Martian and the Iron Giant against Cake the Cat and Stripe. All of this culminates with a bunch of the game's playable characters eventually arriving at Game of Thrones' Iron Throne, with The Joker perched on it, quite clearly outnumbered. Of course, he has some backup, as a couple more classic villains warp in: Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees, and The Matrix's Agent Smith. Alright, a bit of an odd combo, but hey, if you've got the IP, use it I suppose? They are of course new additions, alongside The Joker himself, though I do have to say adding in Agent Smith before Neo is a bit of an odd choice. Read more View the full article
