Three of the five planets in Star Wars Outlaws can be crossed in four or five minutes while riding a speeder, Ubisoft has said. Speaking to IGN as part of a larger interview, creative director Julian Gerighty reiterated the planets — Tatooine, a Toshara moon, Akiva, Kijimi, and Cantonica — will be around the size of two or three zones in *********'s Creed Odyssey, and confirmed "Toshara is very close in size to Akiva and Tatooine; I think Tatooine may be a little bit larger." When then asked how long it would take protagonist Kay Vess to ride from one end of Tosharra to the other side on her speeder, Gerighty gave the four or five minute answer, which will seemingly apply to Akiva and Tatooine too since they're around the same size. "Four or five minutes nonstop, which doesn't sound like a lot, but once you're committed it's a fairly large amount, and you are always going to be distracted." It's unclear if the remaining two planets, Kijimi and Cantonica, are larger or smaller than these three. Ubisoft has said it's going for a quality over quantity approach with Star Wars Outlaws, however. "When we started thinking about how big we should make them, it was less about how big, but more about how long, in terms of traversal with the speeder, it would be," Gerighty said. "So we don't want things to be just big for big sake. We need it to be contained, always fun, always proposing different activities. So the traversal of the whole thing had to feel like a journey, a commitment when you get on your speeder and you want it to go from one end to the next." Star Wars Outlaws was revealed in 2023 as a scoundrel adventure set between Star Wars: Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi. It stars Kay, her droid partner ND-5, and her beastie friend Nix as they attempt to carve out their own success during Star Wars' golden era of ********* activity. It arrives August 27, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, with the $70 Standard Edition joined by a $110 Gold Edition, which comes with three days of early access alongside the Season Pass. An even more expensive, digital-only Ultimate Edition comes with both of these perks alongside cosmetics (the Rogue Infiltrator Bundle and the Sebacc Shark bundle) alongside a digital art book. The original spaghetti western A Fistful of Dollars is apparently getting a remake, and originality is *****. There's been all sorts of trends in Hollywood since films started being big events rather than just experiments in what's possible with the medium. These days it's superhero films, though they might be on the way out. The '60s saw the arrival of the spaghetti western, a genre of film that gets its namesake for the fact that they were westerns produced in Europe, the spaghetti part coming from the fact a lot of them were made by Italian directors and producers. It was A Fistful of Dollars that kicked off the subgenre in 1964, an iconic film directed by Sergio Leone with the (now) curmudgeonly Clint Eastwood in the lead role. Despite a couple of attempts here and there, a remake has never materialised, but as reported by Deadline, it appears one is now in the works. Euro Gang Entertainment, a company founded by Gianni Nunnari (300_ and SImon Horsman (Magazine Dreams) is set to produce it alongside Enzo Sisti (Ripley) of FPC, as well as the Rome-based Jolly Film, the studio behind the original film. Details are reportedly under wraps for now, as it's still quite early in development, but the general assumption is that it will be an English-language film - a writer hasn't been revealed as of yet, nor has a cast or filming date. This is only the second time Heritage Auctions has offered a Nintendo PlayStation prototype controller. | Image: Heritage Auctions In 2020, a rare prototype of the never-released Nintendo PlayStation console sold for $360,000 at auction. Another unit may never be found, but a second prototype controller from the ******* Nintendo and Sony collaboration is going up for auction in August. The Nintendo PlayStation was Sony’s first attempt to break into the gaming market. It was more or less a Super Nintendo console upgraded with a CD-ROM drive, allowing games to incorporate more multimedia content from Sony’s proprietary Super Disc format. The collaboration collapsed after Nintendo announced a partnership with Philips in 1991, and the 200 prototypes of the Nintendo PlayStation were thought to have all been destroyed — at least until one surfaced in 2015 and was... The First Descendant has had a rocky two weeks since launch. After receiving a slew of negative reviews due to its aggressive monetization strategies, the game now also faces accusations of plagiarising Destiny 2‘s artwork and content. This relates to icons that have seemingly either been directly lifted from Destiny 2 or were implemented following light edits. While some of the icons in The First Descendant may appear merely similar, others leave little room for speculation as they appear to be one-to-one copies of those found in Destiny 2. However, the reason behind these supposed similarities might not be as sinister as some thought, and the root of the problem may lie in an icon database and its misuse of the Creative Commons license. The first trailer for Gladiator 2 is finally here, after more than two decades since the original historical drama was released. You wouldn't think a film like Gladiator would ever receive a sequel, but if I've come to understand anything about this decade, it's that we're in the era of IP. You've got a pre-established brand with big names attached to it? Yeah, sure, you can have just a whole bunch of money! And here we are, 24 years after the original Gladiator, with a sequel, director Ridley Scott at the helm once more. The film has been a long time coming, having been announced in 2018, and today after all that time the first trailer for Gladiator 2 has been released, showing off Paul Mescal (Normal People) in all his buff, *******, sweaty glory. Gladiator 2 picks things up decades after the original film, with Mescal playing Lucius, a character that was actually in the original film - he's the son of Lucilla, and the nephew of Emperor Commodus, who was portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix back in the day (Lucius was played by Spencer Treat Clark at the time, with Mescal taking over the role). After spending some time in the northern ******** region of Numidia, Lucius finds himself back in Rome as a gladiator (like the name of the film!) where, as the trailer above will show you, he eventually faces off against the film industry's daddy, Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian). Starfield players who have grown bored with the game's combat ought to check out this new mod which fundamentally changes battle to make those spontaneous fights more engaging. For a game all about discovery and mapping the unknown universe, there's still plenty of ********* to be found in Starfield and while most will agree it's Bethesda's best take on combat yet, it's still a little too simplistic for some. [/url][Hidden Content] Fallout: London as it looked back in December, when its planned April 23 release was announced. After years of work, the third-party modders at Team Folon announced over the weekend that their long-awaited (and recently delayed) "DLC-sized" unofficial fan mod, Fallout: London, is now in "QA testing" and awaiting the "final green light" from release partner GOG. But that release will apparently need to make use of a "downgrader" to work around a recent Bethesda "next-gen" update that upended all of the team's modding efforts. Back in December, Team Folon announced that its work on the Fallout: London mod would culminate in a planned April 23 release, lining up with England's widely celebrated St. George's Day. Then, just weeks before the planned launch, Bethesda announced that its own planned "next-gen" update for the 2015 game would be coming out on April 25, two days after Fallout: London's launch target. "That has, for lack of a better term, screwed us over," Team Folon Project Manager Dean Carter said in an interview with the BBC shortly after Bethesda's upgrade announcement. In a separate video, Carter said that the next-gen update "requires many of our internal systems to be updated," since the content they created in the Fallout 4 Script Extender likely wouldn't work under the updated code. That turned out to be a valid concern, as the next-gen update did end up breaking many Fallout 4 mods and saves after its release. Read 6 remaining paragraphs | Comments View the full article

Trust me, I want the Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact comparisons to stop just as much as you probably do. While it's pretty obvious that the HoYoverse games have a few similarities, they're quite different overall, and I'm a big proponent of letting live service games breathe and find their identity before immediately trying to slot them in alongside would-be competitors. It's important to give ZZZ time to find its footing, even with a strong launch that has been largely well-received, even though it's perhaps a bit more divisive than its HoYo siblings Genshin and Honkai: Star Rail. Ubisoft has apologized after using a ********* historical re-enactment group's flag in concept art for *********'s Creed Shadows without permission. As reported by Siliconera, Ubisoft Japan issued an apology on X/Twitter and admitted it used the flag in two pieces of art without permission. It also claimed to have apologized to the flag's owner Sekigahara Teppo-****, a historical re-enactment group made up of volunteers who perform to the public at festivals and other events. Eagle-eyed fans noticed the identical recreation of the flag, which can be seen below, in a piece of concept art for the Japan-set *********'s Creed released alongside its full reveal. It was raised to a leading member of the Sekigahara Teppo-****, X/Twitter user @matchlock_kage, who posted a photo of the real flag taken on October 27, 2019, and expressed concern at it being used by Ubisoft without permission. Ubisoft has now apologized for using the flag, however, and said it will no longer use the associated artwork with one exception: the presumably already printed physical art book featured in the Collector's Edition of *********'s Creed Shadows. Ubisoft has said it strived to make the world of *********'s Creed Shadows as "authentic as possible." *********'s Creed Shadows was fully revealed in May 2024 as a Japan-set entry where players take control of two protagonists: the stealthy shinobi Naoe and the action-orientated Yasuke, who's a real figure from ********* history. An enterprising pair of Elden Ring players going by the name “Let Us Duo Her” have invented a new method for cheesing one of Elden Ring’s toughest bosses, using a simple combination of weapons and techniques introduced by the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Malenia, Blade of Miquella is without doubt one of the toughest bosses offered up by Elden Ring’s based game, featuring a range of lightning swift sword strokes and rot-infused attacks that work in concert to melt the player’s health bar while frustratingly regenerating her own. Now, a pair of players have taken to Reddit to reveal a new — and vaguely humiliating — method of cheesing the troublesome boss by harnessing the new hand-to-hand fighting style introduced by the new DLC. As shown in a Reddit video spotted by PC Gamer, the pair, who have branded themselves “Let Us Duo Her”, were summoned into battle as co-operators while donning the Dane’s Footwork gear, which was equipped with the Dryleaf Whirlwind ash of war. NEW Malenia Cheese (Let us duo her)#ELDENRING #EldenRingDLC oRezyn [Hidden Content] — ELDEN RING Alerts (@EldenringAlerts) July 7, 2024 Upon entering the boss chamber, the Tarnished who had summoned the duo stood back as the unorthodox pair took it in turns to unleash kick upon kick against the boss, which locked her into a stun animation that went unbroken for the entire first stage of the ******. The ordinarily troublesome boss was then granted a brief reprieve following the mid-battle cutscene to unleash her fearsome Scarlet Aeonia *******, before being savagely kicked into oblivion by the scantily clad warriors. “Inspired from ‘Let me solo her’, we adopted ‘Let us duo her’ to introduce the world to the Malenia cheese we discovered while playing around with the new DLC weapons,” wrote Reddit user oRezyn, who posted the footage. The build apparently needed no specialised talismans to stunlock Malenia, though oRezyn has warned that the stagger could have been interrupted if the summoning player had chosen to get involved. Malenia’s Haligtree arena has borne witness to a slew of extraordinary challenge feats in the years following Elden Ring’s 2022 release, along with the rise of the community co-op hero “Let Me Solo Her”, who specialised in taking down the rot-infused demigod. Of course the attention has long since shifted away from Malenia and towards the new cast of brutally difficult bosses introduced by the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Initial Zenless Zone Zero revenue figures are out, and it looks like HoYoverse' latest gacha release is raking in heaps of cash. According to App Magic - a website that tracks mobile game revenue - the game has made over $25 million not even a week since its launch. These figures place the game at a similar money-making pace as other HoYoverse titles include Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact. It's also worth noting that this figure doesn't take into account PC or console income, which the game will be benefiting from due to its simultanious release across all platforms. For reference, Honkai: Star Rail made a whopping £81 million in its first month across PC and mobile, while Genshin Impact brought home a wild $143 million dollars during the height of the COVID 19 pandemic. If Zenless Zone Zero keeps up the momentum, it's likely it can pass the $100 million mark with ease. If you include PC and console income too - figures we don't have access to - it's surely an incredible figure. Read more View the full article
