  1. The whereabouts of the Triforce in Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been a sticking point for some, but one player might have found it, sort of. While the Triforce is obviously the most recognisable symbols from the Zelda series, it isn't always all that important to the main story of certain games. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom were two such games, both of which did feature the Triforce symbol in certain locations of the respective games, but the thing itself didn't actually make an appearance. It's barely even referred to in the game, in fact there probably aren't many Zelda games where the Triforce feels as unimportant as it does. However, as spotted by GamesRadar, a user on Reddit found something interesting. As you can see in the post shared to the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit above, there are a trio of images showing Tears of the Kingdom's three dragons, Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh. And interestingly, as described by TheMathNut, the user that shared the pictures, "about half way up on each elemental dragon is a piece of the Triforce. I thought it was neat since I always thought the three dragons symbolised the three goddesses." Unsurprisingly, this post has proven to be popular on the game's subreddit, given that this little Easter Egg is a bit of a hard one to spot - I've spent plenty of time farming scales on those dragons' backs, and never noticed it. 2. Gen.G triumphed over Bilibili Gaming at the 2024 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational grand final in Chengdu, qualifying for Worlds along the way. The LCK top dog’s rematch with the LPL first seed was already poised to be epic, and the 3-1 victory from Gen.G proved to be historic. Among the storylines that thrilled Gen.G fans, Chovy’s first international win was the crown jewel. However, every member of the LCK team brought something extraordinary to the series, making this victory not just epic but legendary. Canyon, the jungler for Gen.G, celebrated his first MSI win, joining the ranks of players who have won both regional and international titles. Their top laner, Kiin, rose from the last place of his regional tournament to the peak of international competition. View the full article

While Destiny 2 is in a pretty good state at the moment in terms of player engagement, bugs and glitches continue to present a challenge, a common concern for most live service games due to the constant patching and updating. 4. A Reddit user has noted that the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer suggests the new DLC location is in the sky and it's inverted. 5. Image: Samar Haddad / The Verge As video games and movies become more immersive, it may start to become apparent what sensations are missing in the experience. Is there a point in Gran Turismo that you wish you could smell the burning rubber and engine exhaust? Would an experience playing ***** pong in Horizon Worlds not be complete unless you could taste the hops? On this episode of The Vergecast, the latest in our miniseries about the five senses of video games, we’re tackling the topics of smell and taste in video games — and whether either could actually enhance the virtual experience for gamers. In other words: Smellovision is back for a new generation of media. First, we try out a product (actually available to buy today) called the GameScent, an AI-powered... 7. The Nellis Air Force Base is one of many notable locations in Fallout: New Vegas and is located on the northeast part of the map. The compound is the base of the Boomers tribe and is isolated from the rest of the wasteland. Outsiders are not welcome and will be ******* on sight. 8. Earlier this month, fighting game players across the US learned that the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive hotel was to close suddenly, pulling the rug out from under the upcoming CEOtaku tournament. This sucks for a variety of reasons, obviously. At a base level, a lot of hotel staff are getting ***** off. For the attendees of CEOTaku, it will force a sudden change in travel plans, and the organizers must now undergo the expensive process of tracking down and securing a new venue on short notice. But more than that, it means that one of the last remaining in-person gaming subcultures is losing a home of sorts. The Wyndham Orlando Resort IDrive has been the home of CEO and attendees events since 2011. That's over a decade of in-person gaming events, slowly growing and morphing alongside the wider gaming industry around it. CEO stands for Community Effort Orlando, a fitting name for a tournament salvaged from the wreckage of a last-minute cancellation that forced founder Alex Jebailey and Florida natives to come together and play video games despite the circumstances. Since these fledgling beginnings, CEO and Wyndham Orlando IDrive have been tied by the hip, but for the past few years it's remained a home to CEO's anime fighter sister event CEOtaku. "I am personally devastated," states founder of CEO Alex Jebailey. "It's very hard to find venues that you create a genuine relationship with as they were the first hotel to give CEO a chance back in 2011. My first thoughts were the employees and staff that have taken care of CEO over the years to which I hope they bounce back with other opportunities. It began with Lisa in 2011 helping me understand how hotel contracts work, AV media giving me more than fair pricing on AV and Divya, who I will forever be grateful for handling my contracts since about 2014 there who always helped where I needed it." 9. Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone is definitely feeling some pressure over fans expectations of Haunted Chocolatier, but it's not weighing too heavily on him. Back in 2021, Barone announced Haunted Chocolatier, the acclaimed indie developer's second game that even over two years since its reveal (no, I don't know how that much time has passed either) it hasn't really been shown in action all that much. There have been some screenshots shown here and there, but mostly fans have been kept busy with Stardew Valley's recent 1.6 update. In a recent interview with Aftermath, though, Barone spoke about what's next following this update, including some discussions about Haunted Chocolatier. "[Fan expectation] definitely puts pressure on me, but it's better to have a delayed game that's actually good than a bad game that's on time," Barone said of working on Haunted Chocolatier. "When it's ready, that's when I'll release it. I'm not too concerned with the pressure. I don't feel like I owe anyone anything when it comes to Haunted Chocolatier. It's a game that I'm deciding to make. I don't need to make it." Read more View the full article

  12. Genshin Impact players finally narrow down the Primogem count for Version 4.7, revealing that the update adds up to a lot more Intertwined Fates than was initially expected. Though open world exploration in Genshin Impact is one of its biggest strengths, the main appeal for most players has always been its colorful cast of characters. This ever-growing roster has added plenty of fan favorites in Fontaine, such as Furina, Neuvillette, and Arlecchino. However, Version 4.7 is expected to have a star-studded cast on the Event Banners, which will demand a hefty sum of Primogems from a majority of Genshin Impact players. View the full article

One X user in particular, after celebrating the passing of YouTuber twomad, wished the same upon Asmongold, who has now responded. The streamer weighed in on the situation surrounding Ubisoft’s upcoming game, *********’s Creed: Shadows. He claimed that Ubisoft purposely creates discourse and controversy so players’ attentions aren’t focused on the company’s sharp prices, which often go to $130 for ultimate editions of its games. 14. Image: John William Evelyn “I couldn’t walk away from the pen and ink thing,” says John Evelyn, creator of The Collage Atlas, a dreamlike storybook adventure recently released on Steam. The entire game is hand drawn, from tiny flowers and insects to huge buildings and the clouds that float over them. Exploring this world unwraps its dreamlike story, with environments folding out in response to your approach. “I had been drawing for many years before that […] and I’d always draw with ink straight away, without any kind of prior pencil work or sketching,” he says. “I liked all the incidental details and the accidents that come out along the way.” He compares it to improv music — “actually, sometimes it goes horribly wrong!” — but says that the feeling of getting... 15. Former Archdruid and famous bear Halsin is one of the more popular companions in Baldurs Gate 3 especially after going viral for his romance scene pre-release. Players initially find Halsin in his bear form in the worg pens at the Goblin Camp in Act 1, being harassed by goblins throwing stones at him. 17. Rockstar is slowly gearing up for Grand Theft Auto 6's release, and as it does so, some new details about co-founder Dan Houser's new game have been confirmed. Back in 2020, Houser left Rockstar 22 years after founding the company, revealing his new studio Absurd Ventures in Games the following year. The company was described as providing "ready-made interactive leisure and entertainment software development," and since its announcement, not much has been confirmed in the way of what it's actually working on. Well, as spotted by GamesRadar, we do now have some details on the studio's first game, thanks to some recent job listings. The listing for a lead gameplay designer role noted that the role will see the selected candidate become "the primary vision holder and hands-on contributor for character, controls, and camera design in an open world action-adventure game." It also makes mention of the role needing to deliver "best-in-class combat and third person action across multiple game modes" so it sounds like the game might not just be a single-player title. Following this, Absurd Adventures announced its first project, which isn't actually a game at all, but an audio fiction series called A Better Paradise, a sci-fi story "set in the near future" that "tells the story of the ill-fated development of an ambitious but addictive digital game-world project led by inventor and psychologist, Dr. Mark Tyburn." 19. ***** might have cancelled Hyenas, but you shouldn't count Creative Assembly out just yet, as it's reportedly working on a Total War Star Wars game next. Last year, ***** announced it was cancelling Hyenas as part of some "structural reforms", a move that felt like a real shame for a game that didn't even have the chance to get its foot out the door. A couple of months later, ***** then made it seem like Creative Assembly was back doing what it knows best, which is making real-time strategy games like the Total War series. Now, a new report from DualShockers appears to have shed some light on just what Creative Assembly is working on. According to a "reliable source" that spoke with DualShockers, Creative Assembly is currently working on three new Total War games, with one of them being an officially licensed Star Wars title. Star Wars would honestly be a pretty great fit for a series like Total War, given the broad range of factions it has had across all of its media. Details in DualShocker's report about the game are slim, only noting that "it's possible that Creative Assembly is gearing up to release Total War: Star Wars in the next couple of years," but there's no precise timeline as to when it could come out. The report notes that as of October 2023, the Star Wars entry was the second of the three new Total War games in the works. Since 2014, apart from 2021, Total War has been an annual series, with the most recent entry being Total War: Pharoah, so the Star Wars entry being released within the next couple of years does seem feasible. 21. The first trailer for the ***** Cells animated series is here, and it's looking like one of the most exciting video game adaptations to date. I've not actually played much ***** Cells, I know it's high up there in the pantheon of roguelikes for many out there, but you know, there's just a whole lot of games out there, so where am I meant to fit it in? But earlier this week the first trailer for the animated adaptation of the beloved indie game, ***** Cells: Immortalis, dropped, and I'm thinking I'll have to make time for it. The trailer is a short one, only running for around a minute and a half, but it packs a whole lot into the limited amount of time it does have. Right off the bat I should note that it's going for its own artstyle different from the one used in the game's animated trailer, though it is made by the same animation studio, Bobbypills. You will have to read some subtitles as the trailer is dubbed in French, but an English version is expected later this year. The ***** Cells series is out next soo too, next month actually, on June 19, where it will be available on the streaming service Animation Digital Network. This is a French streaming service, to be clear, and there doesn't seem to be word on where else it will be available just yet, so you might have to wait a while before you can check it out in other territories. 23. The official Elden Ring Twitter account has dropped a new look at one of Shadow of the Erdtree's many terrible monsters, and the Bloodborne vibes are very strong. Much like every other Bloodborne fan under the sun, I too am bitter that it never got a sequel. Given the fact there's only one of them, it still stands as one of FromSoftware's most unique games, and even now I hold out hope we'll get another, even if that is entirely misguided. Luckily for me, Elden Ring had a touch of Bloodborne vibes here and there, what with the occasional Eldritch horror the RPG contained and all. Think bosses like Astel Naturalborn of the Void - you can't convince me it wouldn't fit in perfectly with Bloodborne's boss fights. And thanks to a newly shared image from the official Elden Ring Twitter, it seems like those Bloodborne vibes will stretch into Shadow of the Erdtree above. You can see in the tweet above what this new monster looks like, and uh, yeah, the vibes are truly and wonderfully effed on this one. Anyone with an ounce of biology knowledge can probably tell what the specific posing of who or whatever this is is referring to, a perfect fit for Bloodborne's themes. It also looks like it could truly mess you up with those blades, so I'm looking forward to dying to it 30 times in a row. Read more View the full article
  24. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Bandai Namco hasn’t dropped an official release date for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO just yet, even as we continue to get new character and gameplay trailers every few weeks.
