***** ***** Demons Dededede Destruction released as a pair of films in Japan, but Crunchyroll has announced its international release will be as a series. Sorry to those of you that were hoping the first anime adaptation of a title from acclaimed mangaka Inio Asano would make it over to cinemas in the west, but yesterday Crunchyroll announced that it would be releasing both ***** ***** Demons Dededede Destruction films as an 18 episode long series. The only bad news is that you won't be able to check it out in cinemas, as mostly the western release brings good news. For one, there's the fact that the series will include brand new footage not seen in cinemas. And for two, the series is out soon - really soon, actually, as it'll be coming to the anime streaming service this week, Thursday, May 24. On top of that, the movie's theme ZeZeZeZettai Seiiki will "also be a part of the new television version" of ***** ***** Demons, according to a press release. This particular track is performed by ano and Lilas Ikuta, the former of which you might recognise as the singer of Chainsaw Man's seventh ending. More importantly she stars as Oran Nakagawa in ***** ***** Demons, one of the two main characters. Ikuta should also be a recognisable voice to a number of you, as she's a member of Yoasobi, the group behind the opening themes for anime like Oshi no Ko, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. She'll be playing the other main character Kadode Koyama. Read more View the full article
Prospective Sims competitor Life by You has caught its third delay, and this one's come as a bit of a surprise, since only three weeks ago the team at Paradox Tectonic seemed extremely confident that they were going to hit their June 4 early access launch. Furthermore, this time the team has elected not to announce a revised release date, which marks a departure from the first couple of delays, both of which came with a new target already in sight. A short update post on parent company and publisher Paradox Interactive's website announced the delay late yesterday, citing a need for "additional development time", without going into detail. The statement from Mattias Lilja, the recently installed deputy CEO at Paradox, further stated that: "While we would have preferred to commit to a new release window, we believe it is more prudent to hold off while we plan ahead, rather than committing to a new date that we cannot be certain to meet." He ended by thanking players for their patience, and affirming that further information would be made public as soon as possible. This latest delay once again leaves life sim fans in something of a limbo state, with several exciting new titles announced over the past few years — including Life by You, Project Rene (a.k.a. The Sims 5), inZOI, Paralives, and an as-yet-unnamed project that recently recruited former Sims lead Grant Rodiek — but none with firm release dates. inZOI and Paralives currently have broad early access windows of "late 2024" and "sometime in 2025", respectively, but with Life by You now indefinitely delayed, there's nothing you can mark on your calendar for the time being. Through the first half of Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2, I was unsure of what the point or theme of the sequel was supposed to be. But in the latter half of this Ninja Theory game, it dawned on me that this sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was an exploration of the minds of monsters. Not just the gargantuan monsters that you read about in folklore, but the ones that are as human as you and I. Senua’s journey in Hellblade 2 is a step above the first game. Where Senua was originally climbing into the depths of ***** and battling against the demons in her mind, Hellblade 2 is Senua’s tale of the monsters that lurk on the surface of Midgard and in the depths of her mind that she once pushed away. Yet this time, she’s much stronger than before. Hellblade 2 is a beautiful, yet occasionally off-paced story about healing, survival, and if monsters can change.Screenshot: PC InvasionA journey unknownThe tale of the first Hellblade game pulled many ga...View the full article
Intrusive thoughts are impossible to live with. Cloying, claustrophobic, incessant, inescapable. Radio chatter from a distant room you can’t turn off at best, some hot, odorous wet breath in your ear at worst. They might have your voice, but they’re not your words, not really. They’re unfiltered, almost primal, a communion with bits of yourself you might never know – or have wanted to know – existed. This is where Hellblade 2 gets it right, because the intrusive thoughts are agonizing. But they’re supposed to be. That’s the point. Xbox’s very ****** and very serious series has, within two games, made itself totemic of two things; portraying mental health, and looking good whilst doing it. As far as these two very separate vocations go, Hellblade 2 nails it. At first, I was so aggrieved by the chattering voices (realised in binaural sound so it sounds like they’re planted somewhere in your *********skull) that I searched the vast suite of accessibility options to see if I could turn them off. But that’s the point, isn’t it? These spectres dug into Senua’s conscience like a pair of blood-hungry ticks are never going away. They’re going to offer commentary on everything you do, all the time. ‘You’re not good enough to solve this puzzle’. ‘****, this level goes on a bit, ey?’ ‘***** yeah, you’re smashing this combat encounter!’ ‘Oh no, the boss is absolutely destroying you!’ Read more View the full article

Fans of this year’s lane-swapping metagame at the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational—yes, all 10 of you—will be saddened to hear Riot is stamping it out, with the developers preparing a bevy of system changes aimed at reducing how often swaps occur. Lead League of Legends gameplay designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison gleamed over the details in the 14.11 preview on X (formerly Twitter) today, noting the “hot topic” that lane swapping had become. “While we think some of this was teams adapting to player matchup diffs over time, in some cases, it’s more optimal than we’d like,” Phroxzon said, pointing to the relatively quick development of overpowered double-ranged **** lanes at MSI and in high-rank matches across League ranked play. K’Sante’s overwhelmingly high presence at the 2024 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational in Chengdu has prompted Riot Games in the very next update, with the changes mainly focused on the fact he’s durable and “not exploitable enough.” Since MSI concluded with Gen.G’s victory over Bilibili Gaming, K’Sante has been a hot topic given he had one of the highest presences at the international League tournament, and it’s easy to see why too—his tankiness, damage potential, and utility. To combat this, Riot is blasting him with power reductions, as first revealed by League gameplay designer Phroxzon through his Patch 14.11 preview on X (formerly Twitter) on May 20. Amid Diablo 4‘s successful new season, Loot Reborn, yet another sign for hope has emerged, though this one was quite by accident: A work-in-progress amulet that’s popping up in inventories after Helltide events has players hype. Multiple players found this mysterious leaked ancestral amulet, Eye of the Depths, in season four’s Helltide events today. One player even shared a screenshot of this amulet on the Diablo 4 subreddit. Many players joked that the TBD aspect is determined by players and not the dev team or that it stood for “The Bovine Domain”—a secret area not yet available in Diablo 4—but the truth is less whimsical; it’s a mistake.
