You're not gonna believe this. An apparent screenshot from the Bioshock game that's currently in the works has leaked online, and, assuming it's genuine, it tells us one thing we've all been hoping to learn about the title. That it's a video game. Yep, take a look at the image, which MP1ST claims has been unearthed from the showreel of a visual effects artist working for publisher 2K, and you can see clear as day, Bioshock 4, reportedly codenamed 'Parkside', is probably in line to be one of those doodads we all like to play with a controller, or mouse and keyboard, or a dance pad. In it, the player's holding a ****, dubbed the "Ricochet Shotgun", and is looking straight at some kind of glowing orb mounted on a stand. Maybe they're contemplating it for some reason, or maybe the player just happened to be pointed at a regular light when the screenshot was taken and everyone's about to get very excited about something you might buy for your back garden if you were Andrew Ryan. In his previous lives at Konami and Sony Japan Studio, game designer Keiichiro Toyama was known for his iconic horror games Silent Hill and Siren, then later PlayStation’s gravity-flipping adventure Gravity Rush. Understanding his track record then, it’s no surprise that his next game, Slitterhead, feels uniquely spooky. Whether his small indie startup Bokeh is able to achieve its ambitions or not, it’s clear that this game will at the very least stand out in what often feels like an increasingly homogenised games market. “With Sony, there was an increasing motive to make more highly budgeted games, and it wanted to go that way with the Japan Studio brand,” Toyama told VGC in a recent interview, reflecting on the closure of PlayStation’s historic in-house developer in April 2021 (Toyama left to form Bokeh shortly before this). This is not a drill. *** political memes look set to inflitrate the Fallout universe via Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London. Having already confirmed some pretty huge names voice acting-wise, the mod's Project Lead now looks to be suggesting a former MP known for yelling things is also on that list. Back in February, we learned that the mod's cast includes Neil Newbon - the voice of Baldur's Gate 3's Astarion - and A Plague Tale: Requiem’s Anna Demetriou, with their names slotting in alongside the likes of the already announced Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker. Yes, that's the sixth and seventh doctors from Doctor Who. Now, over on the mod's Discord server, project lead Dean 'Prilladog' Carter looks to have revealed perhaps the weirdest addition to a mod's cast in the history of, well, modding via a "Little Amusing Update". Euro 2024 and Copa America are done, and so is the Festival of Football in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team. There’s one last Squad Building Challenge to commemorate the tournaments and their champions—here’s The Grand Finals SBC. Spain and Argentina were crowned champions of Europe and the Americas after winning two close-fought finals. The Grand Finals SBC ensures these championship-winning moments do not go unnoticed in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team, though we would have expected a slightly more impressive bit of content to mark the end of not one but two massive events. CD Projekt Red fans will probably want to prepare themselves for The Witcher 4, as that's what the developer is furthest along on. These days, CD Projekt Red has quite a lot on its plate. There's that Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, which isn't in production just yet, but work has started on it (and it's added some big names to it too). The developer also has a few Witcher titles in development, like Project Sirius, and Project Canis Majoris, both of which have kept mostly quiet so far. But the big one everyone is waiting on is Polaris, or The Witcher 4, which is supposed to be entering production later this year. With all of these projects on the way, there's obviously questions about which ones are being prioritised, and according to Cyberpunk 2077 sequel director Pawel Sasko, unsurprisingly, The Witcher 4 is the next big focus for CD Projekt Red. Sasko recently made an appearance on the Flow Games podcast, where he explained that most of the studio's projects are in the "early stages." What that says to me is "yes they're coming, no we won't have anything to show for a while," so I would stay patient with them. However, Sasko did reaffirm that The Witcher 4 should be fully kicking into production soon, saying, "The only difference is the Polaris project, so the new Witcher saga, that will enter production. That is the most advanced of all of those." This really isn't all that much of a surprise, as back in May CD Projekt Red provided an update on how many of its staff are working on various projects, with 407 team members working on Polaris, or The Witcher 4, as of the end of April, 2024. If there’s one series that can be relied upon to dole out 80-hour helpings of joy straight into my eager face at regularly scheduled intervals, it’s the RPG brawler stylings of Yakuza/Like A Dragon. One could, I believe, make a convincing argument for Yakuza 0 being - if not the best videogame ever made - then at least the most videogame. While this coming October’s Amazon series won’t be the first live action adaption of Yakuza, I am hopeful its episodic format will give its characters a bit more room to breathe. Or, according to Kiryu actor Ryoma Takeuchi in an interview with IGN, to find the love they’ve always longed for. Read more View the full article

If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber and didn't quite get enough time with Concord over the week, you're in luck, because it's around for another day. At Sony's May PlayStation State of Play, Firewalk Studios revealed its first game, Concord, a multiplayer hero shooter in the vein of games like Overwatch, but with more of a sci-fi, Guardians of the Galaxy-esque spin to it. The new title looked promising enough, but as with all fresh live-service IP, the real test would come when players could get their hands on it. And get their hands on it they have, as anyone that was a PlayStation Plus subscriber, or had the game pre-ordered on Steam, has been able to try out the game's closed beta since July 12, with it supposedly coming to a close yesterday, July 14. That obviously isn't much time to try it out, but as reported by IGN, the early access beta has been extended by a day to today, July 15. You now have until 12pm PDT/ 9pm CEST/ 4am JST to try the game out amongst other PlayStation Plus subscribers and those that pre-ordered on Steam, which isn't a huge amount more time either, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. While this beta was closed to the aforementioned groups, from July 18 to 21, there will be an open beta that anyone across PlayStation 5 and PC will be able to join in on. This is likely where we'll get more of an idea of how the game is faring, as when it comes to PC players, things didn't look great for the closed beta. Read more View the full article

A spokesperson for GOG.com, the PC storefront which is set to distribute massive Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London, has confirmed to VG247 that it's currently not in line to be playable via Epic Games store-bought copies of the game at launch. If you're out of the loop, Fallout: London's a full conversion mod for Fallout 4 that's set to let us explore a post-apocalytic version of the English capital, complete with fresh factions and quests. After Fallout 4's next-gen update forced its creators to abandon their planned release date of April 23, the mod has been left in a bit of a purgatory. Following the recent announcement that the version of the mod now in line to be used for the initial release will require players to downgrade their copies of Fallout 4 to an iteration prior to the next-gen update, GOG has told VG247 that this switch will, at least in the short term, unfortunately have an effect on plans to try and offer the mod to PC players regardless of where they've bought the game.
